Yesterday I forgot to mention that since the paperback of Bark To The Future, the latest Chet and Bernie mystery, comes out in 2023 (June 6), it too is included in the Barnes & Noble 2 day preorder sale ending tomorrow. 25% off! That’s like printing money. (A lot of that going on these days!)

Bankers Away!

Banking seems to be in the air? The Chet and Bernie series has you covered. Here, from the latest, Bark To The Future:

Yes, Dak Quacky Duckworth, a safecracker we’d brought in when we’d actually been working another case. Some details you forget, but I remembered the Quacky case very well, especially how he’d blown up the whole bank although the safe remained undamaged. We’d been inside at the time – something about insufficient funds, whatever those happened to be – which was how we’d gotten involved.

[Question: is it possible that the Quacky Duckworths of the world are actually at the helm of our national financial ship?]

I often get asked if I have a favorite Chet and Bernie novel and the answer is – no. Maybe when I get old and and am no longer doing this I’ll take a look back and see. But probably not! Readers, however, often do have a favorite. Here’s an Amazon reviewer over the weekend on the latest, Bark To The Future:

5.0 out of 5 stars Very fun read

“Have read all the previous Chet & Bernie books. Bark to the Future may actually be my favorite so far.”

This Amazon reviewer from today (of Bark To The Future, the latest Chet and Bernie mystery) makes a point any writer of a series would be delighted to hear:
“5.0 out of 5 stars Tip top right away!

Slipping into Chet’s world is more fun than ever. Instead of becoming ho-hum or same old same old, these stories and adventures keep getting better.”
All I can say is that I love writing in the voice of Chet. Love is hard to fake.
