Thanks for the comment yesterday re the dog on the Romanian road. When Mrs. Plansky’s Revenge comes out (July) the word “lying” will be changed to “sleeping” – which is what the writer intended. That’s the kind of thing that would be picked up in copyediting, which hasn’t happened yet.

OFA, thank you for the update on the dog sleeping on the road. It really has a different meaning that way.
The DDD got his flu shot yesterday. He doesn’t get many things like measles mumps and chickenpox. But with the flu shot he barfed on the doctors floor. He was so embarrassed and the doctor told him he should’ve said that happens once in a while. I guess if it’s not one thing, it’s something else.

It is “Adopt a Shelter Dog” Month.
That would be Freyja.
Diana pawPrints is my Rescue dog and my Black dog.
Oct 1 was National Black Dog day and that would also be Diana. It was also the day Yosemite National Park was established, one of my favorite places.
October 2 was my Mom’s birthday. She is 93. It was also fried scallops day and I missed having any but today is *my* birthday I would have had some fried scallops but they are tied to the restaurant that was the location of my birthday from hell last year so likely not. Maybe Wienerschnitzel and Käsespätzle at my favorite restaurant. I am still contemplating how I will spend my day. My birthday was such a disaster last year that from now on I am spending it alone and doing whatever I want to do, even if that is nothing but doing laundry and surfing the internet and watching TV. I am 68.
Since I can now look forward to living the rest of my life in my little house until I cannot drive, walk or cook for myself I feel no compulsion to exercise National Forgiveness and Happiness Day. Ever.
Hobbit. I think you should fail your foster and let the kitties play together for the rest of their lives.
Río. Good catch. Lying in the road is totally different than sleeping and would have had very different interpretations otherwise. I am reminded of the road sign near my Friend in England. Dog in the Lane. (Who was that dog? So famous that he was used for transit directions?) BTW the pub came long after the name of the lane.
