Pride and Joy

Haven’t shown this in some time: the C&B-themed patchwork quilt made by the Plunderers (an active subset here at the blog). It hangs in the office where all the writing gets done, a thing of beauty and a good luck charm.

Good morning everyone! That is probably the second most beautiful Plunderer quilt on the planet (we might be a bit prejudiced). Spence is lucky indeed to work with a work of art so close.
Enjoy this wonderful Saturday as you make preparations for Sunday. Some will get ready for LI football, some will run away, some will watch the Puppy Bowl or the Kitty Bowl. Whatever you do, enjoy!

Yes, such a lovely quilt! There is Maggie Girl down in the corner.

Good morning everyone. HOH, I know tomorrow is the Super Bowl, but what does LI football mean?

I am going to head up to Lake Geneva, WI to view the ice sculptures with Kelly and gang. Most are amazing and the artists come from all over the U S!

BMALS, Roman Numerals for 51. They used Arabic numbers last year. Guess the organizers felt the average football fan would think “L” meant looser. Now this
year they have done back to the tradition of Roman Numerals.

What a beautiful quilt! I have one from our last bunch of puppies. I keep it in the bedroom as it catches the sun and is so cheerful. As I remember (and I don’t, too well) Each of the 12 puppies had a little quilt of his/her own to take to their new home. What a good time!

Thank you HOH, that makes sense. I was not thinking numbers but words.

I remember when the 12 puppies were born. Good memories.

Now, off to Lake Geneva. BBML

Mom learned Roman numerals before she went to school. Whenever someone asked her father to initial something, he would write 155. His little joke was that his initials were CLV. ????

Wose, I didn’t take any photos. It was #$%@* cold, and crowded. The sculptures were good but sort of gray and dirty looking. This is the biggest winter event for Lake Geneva, and artists are all state winners and have to be invited. I guess like a judged art show. Usually they use real packed snow, but this year had to used man made snow. I think that is why it wasn’t as white and pretty.

    Good evening all.

Seeing the quilt again brings back warm memories of friends. Thanks for reminding us, Spence.

I hope Beau enjoys the football game tomorrow. Our menu: (nothing like Debbie L-M’s if she were doing a Super Bowl menu)

    chili
    fresh fruit
    yogurt-based dips and pita chips
    peanut M&Ms
    almonds
    popcorn
    chocolate chip cookies
    many adult beverages…

Thinking of Snowhook also.On the way home to AK?

BMALS: The event sounds like fun!

Bluecat: Peanut M&Ms…my favorite! What time should I be over? :^)

I am wondering how Beau’s eye is feeling…I hope he is on the road to tip-top.

Mom just got back from a church ladies retreat. Angie came over last night and attended to our needs, meager as they are. I think mom had a good time, but for some reason, she wants us to go to bed early.
