    Good morning everyone!
It seems like the new book will never get here but it’s only about four weeks away! Good grief, where is this year going?
    Enjoy the more autumn weather.

    Three weeks and five days.

Yes, but it’s then 10 whole months before Bark to the Future.

What Autumn weather? These are our hottest days. We had two days mid 90s early in the week.

Awakened again this morning with a robo call from Kaiser Permanente. I’m looking for a way to tell them e-mail me only, don’t call but there doesn’t seem to be one. My mobile has been released to some spammers too as I seem to get a spam call every morning from a different number about some car repair subscription insurance scam thing. I swear I am just going to put the phone on 24 hour privacy so it never rings.

I’ve had it with my house. Yesterday I signed up for something called Fly Lady my friend recommended. Even bought the digital downloadable printable organizer thingie that didn’t download. Had to contact them and today got a link to try again and it did download. Not looking all that helpful. And uneditable PDF with some of the pages between pages if you know what I mean. So off to Etsy to try to find a friendlier version, of which there are meny. Now have to decide on size and if I want an editable version or not. I don’t know if it will help me tame the house. I walk in my dining room and can’t SEE the table so I think the Fly Lady is a bit optimistic about how much organization I need. Progress is slow especially when I get startled from a sound sleep and am groggy for hours.

I need to learn to be a dog. Diana and Freyja wake up, eat and then go off to take naps. I don’t think there are two dogs more enthusiastic about dry nasty Kibble.

Freyja has her first coursing lesson this Saturday.

Mlaiuppa, our thought has always been that if the call is important, they can leave a message.
We remember September and October in extreme Southern California. Grew up in LA and Orange Countys and moved to San Diego for 30 years. Always hotter than heck through September and October and when kids planned their Halloween costumes they were lightweight and Halloween night the temperature always dropped and they froze their little fannies off.

Yes. It was always disappointing when Halloween came and your great costume you planned was making you sweat like Zombies were after you.

We always had to wait until dark and now that they’ve shifted Daylight Stupid Time you have to wait even longer.

While the warm/hot temps into even November have their downside, the upside is that it extends our growing season. I heard we’ll have a mild dry winter this year. So longer growing season but higher water bill. And not sure if it will be cold enough for the winter crops but I’ll try.

I do have an override of the privacy do not disturb for emergency numbers so I think I may do that. I’m tired of being startled awake with 5 hours of sleep by a spammer or robocall.

Paw prints in the sink. This is not compatible with the Fly Lady philosophy. She is a bit OCD about sinks. They must always be scrubbed shiny and then wiped out. Paw prints in the sink would drive her nuts. (Must be a cat thing.)

Bad enough I have paw prints on my white kitchen floor tiles.

I’ll bet Chet could learn to wipe his paws on the door mat.

If he has learned to open a door knob, not just a door lever, he can wipe his paws.

Fly Lady is another system of cleaning your home. Unlike the other lady, this one doesn’t require you go through and throw everything out until there is nothing left to clean.

She turns the house into zones and you clean one zone per week, different tasks for different days, allows for days off, and breaks it down to 15 min. increments.

Downside is your house has to be pretty clean and organized to start. It’s more a maintenance thing. So….I’m not quite there yet. But I haven’t read through all of the materials, just looked at the pages of the journal.

Are used Fly Lady many years ago and it was helpful. I loved the shiny sink! That was the only thing she was insistent about as she believed it was an instant motivation to continue cleaning and sorting.
