Happy Patriots’ Day!

Lexington Green. Old North Bridge. Do kids still learn this history? Anyway, it’s Patriots’ Day here in Massachusetts, and also in Maine. Wisconsin, too? Can any badgers confirm? And recently Connecticut may have joined the parade. No Boston Marathon, but the Red Sox are at home for their traditional morning game (for those who follow baseball). So Happy Patriots’ Day! It meant a lot to Emerson and still does, I hope!

By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled,
Here once the embattled farmers stood,
And fired the shot heard round the world.

The New England states are the only area that I have not visited over the years. Possibly a future tour?

Today I scheduled tree pruning and window washing. I tried to run my car through the car wash but each lane had multiple cars. Spring has sprung and things are getting done.

I was debating getting rid of Sadie’s dog igloo that she seldom uses and when I looked, I found Mr. Big residing inside. There might be a reason Sadie seldom uses it. That Mr. Big rules the roost for sure in this house.

I have a strongly held belief that any bad day can be made a wonderful day with a Slim Jim. Make it two Slim Jims and it turns a day into the best day ever.

This must definitely be an east coast holiday as I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of it and certainly have never celebrated it.

When Ramses died there were a few cats that started coming in the yard. Not sure if they were feral or not but certainly not friendly. A tuxedo, a tortoiseshell and a ginger. i found Tuxedo sun bathing one day on my sawhorses when I was on my way out to the car. He just looked at me and then went back to sleep! I caught Ginger more than once coming out of Ramses’ dog house. When I finally got Diana pawPrints she didn’t know what to make of the cats. Seemed curious or indifferent. Didn’t chase them but would sit and watch them. But as she grew she grew to hate them. I think one of them must have given her a swipe or something. She doesn’t go in her doghouse either. Likely there is still the remains of cat smell in there. Too bad. Caesar used to love that house and I found Ramses sleeping in it a few times when he got to be over 12 years old. Maybe Diana will take to it once she gets a bit older. One thing is for sure. At 100 lbs no cat comes in the yard to bully Diana any more.
