Back To Pareidolia!

Today we move slightly away from nephelococcygia and come to pareidolia (the difference is subtle and perhaps only interesting to someone like me – but I intend to bore everyone with it as soon as a real live book tour happens). Thanks to Susan Burger for sending it. More more more!

A long-eared puppy napping in the mountains…I love it!

    Create a good day!

    I like Rose’s description.

    Good day to all.

So, I went to the supermarket this morning and heard this song on the overhead. I hadn’t heard it in years, and now I can’t get it out of my head…

To Rio from last night. Your post regarding “clouds” brought a smile to my lips and maybe a tear to my eyes. Great song. And of course the Nationals beating the Cardinals last night didn’t hurt either. 😊

Speaking of great songs, Midnight at the Oasis is one of my all time favorites. Rose, it has been a long time since I had heard it too. Showing my age here, I think Maria Muldaur first recorded it back in 1974 or thereabouts.

    A wonderful Wednesday to all.
Wose’s description of the puppy was “spot” on!
We also enjoy Midnight at the Oasis.

    Hobbit: Love the photo!

WATP: Yes, Midnight at the Oasis was recorded in 1974. That was the year I graduated junior high school, so I join you in showing my age! :^)

Hobbit. You are a mere child. I was already in law school.

I think when you really love dogs, you can see them everywhere, even when they’re not there. Obsessed? Nope. Just plain love.

I just set up a trust for my dog and guardianship papers with the local humane society. While I will likely outlive her you never know. I’m no Leona Helmsley but I want to make sure she had a good home and everything she loves if I should go first.

I actually remember seeing Maria Muldaur singing at a college hangout in the early to mid-1980s in Alaska. I was working at the university at the time post degree.

MLAUPPA: I took paralegal courses at night and one of my classes was on wills and trusts. The teacher (who was a practicing lawyer) stressed including a clause covering care of animals in wills. All these years later I need to update my will. My cancer journey showed that I am very unprepared: an outdated will, no health directives, no power of attorney … GAH

In 1974 mom had her masters degree and was teaching. But she still remembers a lot of the tacky music from that era. Midnight at the oasis was one of the best things.

    Billboard’s 1974 Year-end list of Hot 100 Singles…

I had a lot of these records. Standout albums for me were “Band on the Run” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” What a very diverse group of songs and artists!
