April: The Cruelest Month?

Or a time of hope? I vote for the latter. Here’s a little something from Tender Is The Bite, coming July 7 (“and available for preorder – save your receipt!” – Mrs. Publicist’s pushy mom).

The lake began to appear in glimpses through the trees. Lakes and streams, even on the darkest nights, somehow make a little light of their own. The water smelled lovely. Were we going to be able to squeeze in some swimming? You can always hope, and I always do.

We only have to wait until July. Oh heavens, we hate wishing our life away but it’s not long now.
    Have a wonderful day!

“April is the cruelest month”–from T. S Eliot’s The Waste Land.

    Good day to all.

A lovely spring day in this neck of the woods.

Chilly but at least the sky is blue against the white mountains and the sun is shining. I will take it!

“You can always hope, and I always do.” What a great motto! I am going to print it out and put it on my bathroom mirror.

Finished Of Mutts and Men last night.

Now I have three whole months before another Chet and Bernie.

Taking a break with Olive, Mabel and Me, then going to read the three Queenie and Arthur books. I hope they will get me through to July. But then. what will get me through to October?

Like the rest of us, hope will get you through. Without hope we are all sunk.

“April is the cruelest month” takes on a whole new meaning up North when the snow finally melts almost completely away, everyone runs around in shorts and tshirts and then it snows a foot overnight.

Thanks for the reminder. I will order Tender is the Bite tomorrow. Or at least this week, heh!

I was actually fairly productive today. The blue skies and sunshine helped even it was still in the 20s. I had the deck door open all day and it felt nice.

I ordered a couple of the $1.99 Chet and Bernie digital books so I will always have them on hand. Most of my physical books are packed up in anticipation of a move that never happened.

Time to relax. Tomorrow I drive my sister to the airport. She is going to our family place in California for 3 weeks. I envy her!
