“Aieee! Aieee!”

Oh, come on, Chuckie! Suck it up. My teeth were barely engaged at all. But the funny thing is that when that Aieee sound is in the air, they – meaning my teeth – get this sort of … urge.

Upper Story …

May 9th, 2019 Posted 8:26 am

… is the new Chet and Bernie short story, free to preorderers of HEART OF BARKNESS. See link below. Here’s an excerpt:

Chuckie raised his head, turned in my direction, blinked.

My tail started wagging. How nice to be well known! I admit it.

Chuckie rolled over, grunted, got to his knees, gave me a big smile. “Good to see you, Chet.” His smile got even bigger, actually too big. “Now how’s about running along?”

What was this? Chuckie wanted to go for a run? He didn’t look like much of a runner to me, and also this wasn’t the right time. Later maybe? Like after he was done with wearing an orange jumpsuit and breaking rocks in the hot sun? I couldn’t think why not. My tail got busy again.

“Heh, heh, there’s a good doggie.” Chuckie reached for the backpack, swept some cell phones back inside, seemed about to rise to his feet. I tried another bark, this one meaning: Chuckie?

Preorder Info

April 29th, 2019 Posted 7:46 am

Many questions still coming in from readers who had already preordered HEART OF BARKNESS (the next C&B) before the April 1 beginning of the promotion that will include the brand new C&B short story UPPER STORY. Here, from Ms. Publisher – meaning the top! (So no worries.)

“If they still have their receipt, they can upload it even if it was ordered before April 1. I think if you ordered on Amazon for example, you should be able to take a screenshot of your order history? Otherwise, if they really can’t find the receipt, then yes, we’ll figure out how to get it to them.”

So – timing isn’t everything in life! Intent is important, too.
