Hoku: More

More on Hoku, Chet’s September friend of the month, thanks to human companion Kathy Lam:

“Thank you for selecting Hoku (“star” in Hawaiian) to be your photo of the month. He is about 10 years old, rescued in 2010, and is a Pekingese-Shih Tzu mix. He became a therapy dog that same year, visiting many children and adults. The highlight of Hoku’s therapy dog career came when he became the San Diego District Attorney’s Office’s first volunteer court dog, where he comforted children who were going to be testifying in court against their abusers. He loved each of his kids so much! Now Hoku spends his retirement catching up on the Chet & Bernie books. His hero is Chet, but he loves the antics of Iggy because he thinks he is his twin! Thanks again!”
