Amy Winehouse
October 22nd, 2011 Posted 9:27 am
“You’re an Amy Winehouse fan?” Spence says.
“Yup,” says Admin.
“I wouldn’t have guessed. Remember that Hummingbird place, down in St. Lucia? She used to go there.”
“A nice spot. Wouldn’t mind being there right now, cold drink in hand.”
“It’s 9:31 AM.”
“Good point,” says Admin. “Think Bernie likes Amy Winehouse?”
“Not sure,” Spence says. “We could ask him sometime. Right now, he and Chet are still working that case in Vista City.”
“The movie star thing?”
“It’s actually still not clear how that ties in. Which is right about where they are at the moment, I think. They got delayed at Burger Heaven.”
Welcome George, Cosmo.
Tomorrow at 6 PM: Spencer Quinn (or maybe Peter Abrahams) at the Courthouse Center for the Arts, West Kingston RI.

Palindrome
January 2nd, 2010 Posted 8:34 am
“Today,” says Bernie, “is a palindrome.” I know palindrome – some kind of camel. Never actually seen a camel myself, except on Animal Planet. The smell could be interesting.
“You know,” he says, “like Madam I’m Adam, or a man, a plan, a canal – Panama!”
“Bernie?” says Suzie, “can you pass the sugar?”
We’re still having fun in St. Lucia.
Note from Admin to RR – will look into doohickey when doohickey support guy is available.

St. Lucia (Continued)
December 31st, 2009 Posted 12:41 pm
Today we went deep sea fishing and caught nada. Bernie and the boat guy had a great time, passing a bottle back and forth. Dolphins were all around, jumping out of the water. Were they having fun or what? If I wasn’t who I am, I wouldn’t mind being a dolphin.

St. Lucia Confessions
December 30th, 2009 Posted 8:47 am
Suzie and I went for a walk today. Suzie’s the greatest! It was pretty hot but she went fast and wasn’t even sweating. After a while she stopped in front of some real strange-looking flowers. “These are called Love-Lies-Bleeding, Chet,” she said. She stared at them for a long time. Then she said, “Bernie’s a good man.”
Well, I knew that, of course. And what that had to do with those flowers is anybody’s guess.
