Are there any new Xmas music recordings out there people like? We like our old ones – can never get enough of Al Green, and how about Solomon Burke’s Silent Night? – but new would be good. Please leave any suggestions in comments. Thanks!

“Uh-oh,” says Bernie. “Here’s sad news. Solomon Burke died. He still had it up to the very end. That Nashville album was great, and so was Don’t Give Up On Me.”

Bernie has a sad look on his face. I never like seeing that. I go over and give him a little bump with my head.

“Sure hope those twenty-one kids of his will be all right. Plus the ninety grandchildren and the nineteen great-grandchildren.” Bernie sighs and gives me a pat. “Guess he had a good life, big guy.” Hey! I know that one – having a good life, I mean.
