Yesterday in the comments Rio made this uncanny observation: “I bet he never formally learned how to type.” Bingo! This whole time I’ve been a 3 finger typist, although the left index does most of the work. It makes no sense, I know. I believe Rio is also right that Delusion was the last novel I wrote as Peter Abrahams (although there may have been a children’s book or two). Chet and Bernie entered my life soon after Delusion. (More on that tomorrow.)

Thanks for the comment yesterday re the dog on the Romanian road. When Mrs. Plansky’s Revenge comes out (July) the word “lying” will be changed to “sleeping” – which is what the writer intended. That’s the kind of thing that would be picked up in copyediting, which hasn’t happened yet.

Here’s Spence last night with Rio’s friend Patty at the Tattered Cover, one of the very best indies in the country. Tonight at 7 he’ll be at the Douglas County Libraries (Philip S. Miller branch, 100 S. Wilcox) in Castle Rock.

Which we haven’t shown for a while. They now hang in a nice spot in the office. Many thanks to Rio, and Floyd Harris, the woodcarver.
