Dear Readers

Today, before things get really busy, I want to thank all the readers out there who have found Chet and Bernie (or any of my other work). And the fact that some of you tell your friends about C&B means a lot. There’s nothing like word of mouth (and mouthing comes up, by the way, in Tender Is The Bite, the next Chet and Bernie. I was going over the first pass proofs yesterday and saw that passage – had totally forgotten writing it! Good grief.) But let me stick to the point, which is: Thank you!

“First off I really liked the Birdie and Bowser novels you wrote and I think you should make another book. Since your previous books are Woof, Arf, and Bow Wow I think you should make another one called Bark, since a dog barks. Thank you for reading this please right back.”

[“Right back” – perfect! One of those wonderful found locutions.]
