Reader Denise Deren Cretella writes: The next big question is: How long is the wait for the book after “Tender Is The Bite”?

Answer: The shortest wait yet for a Chet and Bernie novel! Tender Is The Bite comes out July 6 and It’s A Wonderful Woof, the first Chet and Bernie Christmas/holiday novel, comes out Oct. 19. (Among many other things, you’ll find out what happens when Bernie lights Victor Klovsky’s mom’s Hannukah candles.) Both are prorderable now. (Sharing this post is your right under the Constitution. I believe Hamilton in particular pushed for it.)

The question of the exact pub date of Tender Is The Bite – the next Chet and Bernie novel – has come up. It will be either June or July – the reasons are arcane publishing type reasons – and we’ll know soon, but meanwhile it is available for preorder. Sorry for the confusion. Perhaps sharing this post will help get this news out to other readers. Glad people seemed to enjoy yesterday’s post of the beginning of Tender Is The Bite. How about another little snippet next week?

Some sharp-eyed readers among you noticed that pub date for Tender Is The Bite – the next Chet and Bernie in a series that can be read in any order – seems to have been moved from June 4 to July 6. Thanks for the heads up! You’re way ahead of me – and if there’s anything else I need to know, don’t hesitate! I’ve looked into the matter. Tender Is The Bite will be published on one of those 2 dates but it’s not set yet. The reasons are complex, but at botton Covid-caused. That being said, the book can be preordered now. This second! (A ferret named Griffie plays an important role.)

Of Mutts And Men hits the stores today! Thanks, everybody, for your support of Chet and Bernie. Next virtual appearance is tomorrow. Link will be posted in the morning. Many thanks to Brijin and all the folks at Cuyahoga County Public Library for last night’s event. No one threw anything – my usual metric for success at an event, although that might not make sense in the virtual world.
