A Day That Will Live In Infamy

Pearl Harbor, 81 years ago today. Among many other things, we got dragged onto the international stage and once on it there seems to be no getting off. Anyone out there remember that day? An excellent one-volume history of WW2 is Inferno by Max Hastings. Is there a more important event in human history than WW2? I hope kids are still learning about it in school.

(The Bataan Death March – April 1942 – figures in INTO THE DARK, third in my Echo Falls series for younger readers.)

Spence: So what’s it going to be?

Admin: Don’t worry – I’ll think of something. But tomorrow’s topic is a snap!

Spence: Pearl Harbor?

Admin: What else?

75 years ago today. Not today the 6th, of course. That would be an error. How did it happen? Fog of war?

Among many other things, we got dragged onto the international stage. An excellent one-volume history of WW2 is INFERNO by Max Hastings.

(And the Bataan Death March figures in INTO THE DARK, third in Admin’s Echo Falls series.)
