And now, a big moment in our lives: The Song For Chet video. This is kind of like the Friend of the Month, but super-sized. To everyone who sent in video clips, thank you a thousand times. We’ve had so much fun and pleasure watching them! And if you spot your member of the nation within, please tag and share! Share anyway!

As for the song itself, it comes directly from Heart of Barkness, publishing a week from today and still preorderable with the special promotion that includes the new short story, Upper Story https://read.macmillan.com/promo/heartofbarknesspreordercampaign

Song for Chet is an original song written by me Peter Abrahams, Robert Edwards and Mitch Watkins. The beautiful fiddle solo is played by the great Gene Elders. My very first song! I really can’t believe it. I can’t thank the multi-talented musician and composer Mitch Watkins enough; Lucy Carson has been so smart and helpful throughout; and to Bob Edwards, who made the video, produced the song, and thought of the whole idea the moment he heard there was a song lyric in the book: my deepest gratitude. Thanks also to our friends at Muttville on whose youtube channel the video appears.
