Inauguration Day. Don’t know what that means, exactly, but Bernie’s been glued to the TV all day. Bernie and I run the Little Detective Agency. I’ll get into that some other time. The only interesting thing I picked up from the TV is that those two little girls want one of my guys to join their family, my guys meaning a member of what Bernie calls the nation within the nation, namely dogs. Anyway, a great idea! I can’t join their family myself, of course – much too busy and besides, we’re a team, me and Bernie – but I’ve spent some time in the pound and know there are plenty of good candidates there. By the way, just in case you got the idea I can talk, I can’t (and wouldn’t even want to). But I can think, better believe it!

Media Madness
February 11th, 2010 Posted 7:50 am
Kind of a strange situation yesterday. The blog talk radio calls and thinks he’s talking to me. Doesn’t everyone know I can’t talk? It’s in the very first post, Inauguration Day, which got repeated a few posts down at Feb. 2. Just because I can’t talk doesn’t mean I can’t narrate. But forget that part. The point is Spence had to think quick – maybe not quick enough – and he came up with the idea of pretending to be me. He hopes it worked! I wasn’t even here. We’re working on the son of Colonel Bob Case, if it is a case. But no time to go into that now.
Note from Admin: It’s too soon to say there will definitely be a Dog On It movie. All we can say for sure is that it’s in development at Universal, with Mandalay producing and Jeff Lowell writing.
Note from Spence: There’s that pessimism of yours again.

Live Twitter 1-2 Today (Eastern Time Zone)
February 2nd, 2010 Posted 8:06 am
Today Spence is doing a live tweetchat on Twitter, the hashtag, whatever that is, being #chatss. Not #chetss, which is kind of confusing. Here’s something (among others) that Spence isn’t very good at though you might not guess: typing! And tweeting is typing! So – big challenge for the poor guy.
Bernie says there’s been some discussion about my very first post, so here it is. Also, to Gus and BooBear – yes, we’re big Marty Robbins fans over here, love the Gunfighter Ballads. Sometimes, Bernie says, we’re pretty close to living that life! Except – he always says – the dry washes weren’t dry back then. Bernie worries a lot about the aquifer, in case that hasn’t come up already.

I’m There! (Sort Of!)

“Hey,” Bernie said, “the AKC has released its list of the ten most popular breeds for 2009.” He read them out: Labrador Retriever, German Shepherd, Yorkshire Terrier, Golden Retriever, Beagle, Boxer, Bulldog, Dachshund, Poodle, Shih Tzu.
I thought: so what?
Then Bernie said, “You’re on here, big guy – more than once.” My tail started wagging. More than once? Not too shabby.
And it must be Sunday. How do I know? Elvis gospel on the radio. Have I mentioned already about Milky White Way being our favorite? Why not mention it again? There’s this whole riff Bernie has about that song, something about the Trumpeteers. I’ll leave that out this time.
Note to Rio from Spence: saw your very nice comment on Chet’s very first post, Inauguration Day. Many thanks – and happy birthday and best wishes to your dad.
