Higgs Boson: What Took So Long?

“They found the Higgs Boson?” Spence says.

“Yup,” say Admin.

“What is it?”

“Elementary particle. Missing link. Solves the mass problem in theoretical cosmology.”

“Huh?”

“Smooth sailing from here on out.”

Spence is quiet for a few moments. “If there was a ballplayer named Higgs,” he says, “he could suit up for the Boson Red Sox.”

“You’ve been drinking too much coffee.”
