From It’s A Wonderful Woof

“Never actually done this on my own in my whole life, always just following orders,” he said. “But I don’t see why not.”
Bernie got to work, setting the tree up in the stand, cutting off a branch or two with a breadknife from the kitchen, hanging a red ball here and a green ball there, and tossing on some tinsel.
“Too much tinsel, Chet? Don’t want to over-egg the pudding.”
Impossible of course, since we’d already established there were no eggs on the premises.

I shouldn’t leave out the booze. Or all the gifts people brought. Father Henry was too sick to come, but he sent a beautiful tree, all decorated. In between getting hugged and kissed and patted on the back, Bernie stripped off all the decorations and put them on again, but in the way he liked . At one point I heard Weatherly, Suzie, and Leda discussing that. “I don’t understand him at all these days,” Leda said. “He seems to be changing a bit,” said Suzie. Weatherly just smiled.

Remembrance of Christmas Past
December 19th, 2011 Posted 8:10 am
“Time to put up the tree,” Admin says, driving up with it on the roof of his car.
“Right you are,” says Spence.
“What are you laughing at?”
“I’m not laughing.”
“You’re smiling in a laugh-smothering way,” Admin says.
“Sorry,” says Spence.
“You’re thinking about that time, aren’t you?”
“When the tree fell on you, tinsel, angel, and all, and all the kids and dogs came running and the smoke detectors ended up going off? I swear I’m not.”
Welcome Boomer, Kiah.

Chet and Bernie #5: Last Day of Revision (KOW)
December 12th, 2011 Posted 7:28 am
“Then can we get the Christmas tree?” says Admin.
“Why don’t you go and get it yourself?” says Spence. “They’ll help you strap it on the roof. Take the bungee cords.”
Admin produces the chain saw. “This year,” he says, “I was kind of thinking we’d mosey down under the power lines and grab us a wild one.”
Uh-oh.
Welcome CuChulainn and Lily.
