We Almost Have A Winner! (But Close Enough)

Bernie says there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the universe, and if that’s what he says I believe it. What it means is anybody’s guess. But that’s the only question Rebecca Rice and Megan, in combo, missed on the pop quiz, part two, and who cares, anyway? Did I make a rule about no combos? Or any other rule at all? So if each of them will send a mailing address to spence.quinn@gmail.com, a copy of Thereby Hangs A Tail, signed by Spencer Quinn and stamped by me, Chet, will be on its way.

“The content of their character,” Bernie says. “Can we ever get to that?” He scratches between my ears, just so. Turns out my ears don’t exactly match. Didn’t know that until someone mentioned it, possibly in Dog On It, or maybe Thereby Hangs A Tail, hard to keep it all straight. But that’s not the point. The point is – so what if my ears don’t match?

Also, according to Admin who has been in contact with the publisher, Thereby Hangs A Tail, based on just on its partial first week, will appear on the New York Times extended fiction list at #25 on Sunday 1/24. Everyone here at chetthedog thanks Chet’s readers very very much.

Why no post? Because we’re going Christmas shopping. “We’re really behind the eight ball, Chet,” Bernie said.

Uh-oh. Once – the very day we got paid for solving the Messerschmidt case, in fact – Bernie got into a pool game with a little old guy who turned out to be an expert. If that happens today look out!
