WoooHooo! Spence & Mom!
11:31 am on September 17th, 2013
Great picture!
San Francisco is one of my favorite places. Have fun.
Good morning all.
11:33 am on September 17th, 2013
Nice to see another Plunderer. Hope Spence is having a great trip.
Off for errands and then picking up Jack and then Lyla.
Have a great afternoon everyone. BBL
11:35 am on September 17th, 2013
Goood morning, everyone! Masquers, what a good looking family you are 🙂
Mom called Alpharetta, GA again to beg for the nation within the store, but to no avail 🙁 So, mom and Daddy Dawg will see dogs in training (for ???) outside and OFA inside, but he won’t get to meet the really important, good looking members of the HOH.
11:39 am on September 17th, 2013
WOO WOO It’s Spence and Masquer’s Mom. Very good photo.
Buddy and Leno, Links are allowed on this blog, but yours didn’t show up. Try again.
Macy, Why is that cone around the Husky’s neck?
The Howlers’ folks know how to teach Huskies to get along with kats. Mom has a simpler plan…keep me away from all kats.
11:44 am on September 17th, 2013
Wait! No one mentioned me,Me,ME. Look see…there’s my Plunderer ID…which by the way was a Big Hit. Everyone loved the IDs and thought them to be very clever.
Thank You again, Staff. And, also Big Thank You’s to the Turtleman, Staff and Dawson for all their work on the fabulous Plunderer Passports….which we did Remember to have stamped and pawprinted by Chet & Spence…Thank Dog!
Wose! We guessed correctly! What a Wonderful Plunderer Meeting this will be for you & Grizz and Wookie’s Mom & Dad on Saturday. You get to meet little Teddy Ruff Rider too!
WoooHooo!!! Take lots of photos Please.
11:47 am on September 17th, 2013
No worries, huskies, the guy in the picture last night was just back from being “tutored”, hence the cone.
11:52 am on September 17th, 2013
On the Facebookie post at the right, we got confused (nothing unusual) and were pondering if perhaps Eddie were traveling to SF with OFA ?
12:11 pm on September 17th, 2013
Is Wolfie close to San Francisco? Wouldn’t it be Great if his mom’s photo showed up on Tomorrow’s Blog!
12:13 pm on September 17th, 2013
We just love seeing pictures of Plunderers with Spence at the top of the blog.
Eddie is quite the traveler! 🙂
Siber, If Mom kept us away from cats, none of us would be living on this here farm.
12:15 pm on September 17th, 2013
What a great picture of Masquers and Bear’s mom!
Bear you are so wise, you guessed correctly! This will be so much fun to meet Teedy, his mom and his dad. Grizz is on camera duty for sure! I can’t wait to hug Teddy up! We will both be getting the Devil Dog out of both of us on that day.
12:30 pm on September 17th, 2013
Probably a little far for Wolfie to get to SF, but is would be Cooool!
12:54 pm on September 17th, 2013
Wow, famous people on the blog 🙂
As for the link, thought I saw it, but Try this. As I said, the article’s a bit out of date, being from six years ago. Now Melanie’s health prevents her from working, and I do tech support from my home office, and there are other changes. Soon as I have info on the TV video, I’ll let y’all know.
1:00 pm on September 17th, 2013
Governor’s Sauce (great with pot roast but we’e put it with roast poultry, too)
14 lb. tomatoes, 1/4 C. salt, 1 med. head cabbage, 6 lg. red apples, unpeeled, 6 lg. sweet green, 6 lg. sweet red peppers,6C. sugar 1 qt vinegar, 1 1/2 oz. mixed pickling spice.
Grind tomatoes; cover w/ salt; let stand 3 hrs. Drain
Coarsely grind cabbage, apples and peppers. Add to tomatoes.
Add sugar, vinegar and pickling spices (tied in a small bad). Cook 30 min.; remove spice bag. Let stand overnight. Reheat to boiling.
Pour into sterilized jars and seal at once or put in freezer bags.
Makes about 2 pints 🙂
1:02 pm on September 17th, 2013
Gah! NOT 2 pints, 12 pints.
1:03 pm on September 17th, 2013
Buddy and Leno, The link worked! That is a good article and photo.
1:08 pm on September 17th, 2013
Very nice article, Buddy.
1:17 pm on September 17th, 2013
Buddy, got your link, it is great!
TRied to upload a foto of the beautiful table topper but “Granny Smith” the ipaw is being stubborn 🙁
1:24 pm on September 17th, 2013
HOH: Although I’m sure Eddie would be up for a trip to San Francisco, I believe he lives in Seattle.
14 lbs of tomatoes? Not here. sob, sob.
Buddy&Leno! Thank youse for the link!
1:38 pm on September 17th, 2013
Granny Smith has awakened and now will send a foto of the topper. You might be able to see some of mom’s apple collection on the Hoosier cabinet; they escaped from the kitchen.
1:49 pm on September 17th, 2013
HOH: Wowzer! That table topper is incredible!! It is beautiful.
Rose: One of these days maybe we can do more than blurr-by. sigh.
Riö had such a good idea with the New England bus tour, but alas it was not to be.
How we would love to meet everyone! Our passport books need to be filled with all youse’s pawprints.
1:52 pm on September 17th, 2013
HOH, The table topper is beautiful, and guess what? We have a hoosier very similar to yours.
2:01 pm on September 17th, 2013
Speaking of auction items – the payment for the Wine Dogs was just mailed to Snowhook. Mom thought Dad had mailed it, but noooo he had not.
BooBear: Apologies from Trigger & Maila – We always get the blame 🙁
2:12 pm on September 17th, 2013
We did not get to meet Spence yesterday because both Mom & Dad had to work. This was VERY disappointing. But last year at the Seattle University Library we..were..there!
2:50 pm on September 17th, 2013
Masquers: I must do my best convince Grizz to take a vaction in Seattle.
2:53 pm on September 17th, 2013
Buddy, that is a wonderful article about you and your family.
2:54 pm on September 17th, 2013
Rose: That would be fantabulous! And you could stay with us!
3:04 pm on September 17th, 2013
Fading fast here . .
News update: Mac has a slight infection and now has the meds . .
Verizon: By this time Zoë was very tired. I went in with the phone that is extremely difficult to use. I explained that I was not happy and that I don’t like my mother crying. Outcome . . Zoë now has a new phone. iPhone 4 and is on my account. She is owed money from the cell phone people.
Hospital: The correct Public Health official now has the email. The doctor wrote me back and said he was getting in touch with the Head of the Radiology Department. She called me to hear “my side of the story”.
I explained everything. I told her I was not happy. That I was very careful about my blood and to have a health worker NOT being careful made me very angry.
She is having a meeting with the supervisors under her, and then they will be having a meeting with everyone.
That is when I broke it to her that I had already written to the Public Health Department.
I now have the number and name of the Head of the Department and I am to call her if I ever feel uncomfortable in her department again.
Whew. I’m exhausted.
3:04 pm on September 17th, 2013
Buddy, wonderful article. I am now taking a nap. Bet I see BearSpiritDog.
3:10 pm on September 17th, 2013
Melanie: I am here with Big Bear Hugs for you.
4:06 pm on September 17th, 2013
I do believe that Chet is in the photo with the article, but I don’t remember if Karl (at that time, gracefully aging golden retriever) was or not.
Melanie, good for you for following up with all those guys. Hope you get some satisfaction from both corners. Also, I love my iPhone, can’t wait to get the new 5S.
4:15 pm on September 17th, 2013
Buddy&Leno: We do see your Golden, Karl, in the photo.
4:16 pm on September 17th, 2013
How I love the beach!

Tupper’s Mama: Heavenly Beach Scene.
4:23 pm on September 17th, 2013
Masquers, it would be so much fun to come to Seattle and visit you!! You will have to put your TravelKat hat on and make a list of all the best things to see.
Melanie, Zoe will love the iPhone 4. It’s the one I have.
4:25 pm on September 17th, 2013
Royal Mum, The beach looks lovely! Even upside down! Have a lobster tail for me! sigh
4:35 pm on September 17th, 2013
Melanie: Rest, you’ve earned it!
T&G’s Mama: Beautiful beach
All others: I hope on this blog we have all learned to RESPECT those two ladies when it comes to medical care and hospitals! 🙂 Mmm, could they be plunderer Tigresses?
4:40 pm on September 17th, 2013
HOH: ^,,^ 🙂
5:03 pm on September 17th, 2013
It is truly wonderful at the beach. There are crowds on the weekends, but you see how empty the sands are right now. It did get very cold last night and today is chilly but the next few days are going to be sunny and lovely.
The Corgis are in their glory. And we went to our favorite little tourist store today and got beach sweatshirts and….fudge. Woo Hoo.
Buddy – we couldn’t get the article on our iPhone but will check it out when we are back in the land of Internet access.
Melanie- we are so very proud of your Pink Bulldozer attitude. You are 100% right!
Masquers – your Mom is just lovely. And we think we saw BSD peeking over her shoulder?
Rio – sorry it is going to be two more weeks at the &$!(/(& busy place, but then again, you see how invaluable your friend must be.
Time to feed and walk the Corgis. Maybe BBL
5:15 pm on September 17th, 2013
Whoo hoo, mom needs to apologize to Books for Less. They just called her and said if she wanted to bring her dog to OFA’s book signing, it was ok 🙂 Someone there really went the extra mile (must have been doing the go to trot).
Now mom needs to feed us then the 2 leggers.
5:19 pm on September 17th, 2013
HOH: it looks like the topper is in the perfect beautiful home. I am glad you can enjoy it. Why is it called a Hoosier cabinet?
I’ve had a cold which has been the easiest cold I’ve ever dealt with–no bedridden days or clogged up sleepless nights. It might have something to do with the handful of wellness pills I took on day 1. So I have been breathing fine for days but where is all this mucus coming from? Geez, box #2 of Kleenex.
Tupper’s Mama: that beach looks so clean! The few beaches I’ve been on have either been rocky or littered with seaweed and trash so I have never been a beach person.
Getting a moving estimate today. House inspection on Wednesday and the appraisal on Thursday. Then comes the septic test. I have a tentative date of October 3 to move the rest of my household goods to Anchorage.
Rio: your friend was to send me a SDD. Remind her when she gets home.
5:46 pm on September 17th, 2013
CHobbit: Can’t wait till you are tip top again. The cabinets are called that because many were made in Indiana amd were the newest thing in kitchen convenience!
6:29 pm on September 17th, 2013
CHobbit – this beach is indeed very clean. Especially off season. There is a big machine that rakes the beach clean every night. Kind of like a Zamboni for sand. Hope you feel better soon.
HOH- yippee for dogs! Who is going to go with you?
6:44 pm on September 17th, 2013
That bookstore must have gotten a call from the dog in charge himself…Chet!
7:06 pm on September 17th, 2013
Royal Mum: Yes! That was Me! Thank You for noticing.
Happy to hear y’all are having a Wonderful Time. But then how could you not? Do you have another week in this joyful place?
C.Hobbit: Now comes the fun part…the Big Move.
I am certain we mentioned this before…but just to be safe we will say it again…your lovely package arrived Safe & Sound.
7:10 pm on September 17th, 2013
OH: Just want to tell you we think our Hoosier cabinet has more mileage than most. Mom got it in Des Moines, IA and moved it to So. Cal and now to Chattanooga, TN. It got around!
7:12 pm on September 17th, 2013
T&G: Mom says the canine in question is a secret, to be revealed Wed.
7:49 pm on September 17th, 2013
CHobbit, Hope you lose the cold soon. Sending good luck from Westchester that all goes well with the house.
RIO! Where are you? I hope youse are all safe from the flooding.
8:12 pm on September 17th, 2013
BearSpiritDog – we would know that happy puppy face anywhere.
Do us a favor, and ask your mom to check her SDD, quick like a Tolkien Elf.
9:07 pm on September 17th, 2013
Royal Mum: Please check your SDD.
9:12 pm on September 17th, 2013
Bear – thanks. Youse guys are the best.
9:42 pm on September 17th, 2013
Rose!…My friend had a long day and then she had to pander to someone else’s needs when all she wanted to do was rest…grunt!… She is tired and grumpy …grump!
9:43 pm on September 17th, 2013
Riö: There you are!
9:53 pm on September 17th, 2013
Glad T & G’s folks are having such a good time. Please send us some lobsters!
Barb is ready to say good night. Last night she was up a lot for some reason. Must be the same reason she is mad at me. Just cause I stole LuLu’s left over food off the counter, and then had to wake her up at 12:30, 2:15, 4:30 an 6:30 due to my upset tummy, she says I am not her fav today. Maybe I will be back in good standing tomorrow.
Night all.
10:06 pm on September 17th, 2013
Maggie – Trigger will be proud of you, but we hope your belly is okay now, and ready for rubbing.
Rio – whew, we were worried. The news here said that there could be a two foot rise in the flood water. Are youse guys still totally safe?
10:12 pm on September 17th, 2013
Two!…Two feet is nothing!…grunt!…When it gets to 18 or 20 again wake me up…sniff!
10:15 pm on September 17th, 2013
Magpie: Barb will love you tomorrow…as She Loves You Today…Guaranteed.
10:41 pm on September 17th, 2013
Long!…Someone doesn’t think she will make it through the next 2 weeks…grunt!…I think she will – she always does somehow….wheeze!

One!…Just wait – there are several…gasp!
Spoilers!…There is a newbie at the busy-place who watches Breaking Bad, but has not seen one episode of season 5 yet….snort!…It is very hard for my friend to not tell him EVERYTHING!…heh!heh!
11:50 pm on September 17th, 2013
I don’t know what to say…one, two, three complete upsets…my stomach is churning.
12:09 am on September 18th, 2013
Heading for bed…that is if I can sleep after that…Yeep!
10:02 am on September 18th, 2013
BSD & Masquers, USPS says the cat and dog cups were delivered. Did they arrive intact? Mom had sent a couple of cups to Barb and Maggie and one of them broke and had to be replaced. So she tried to pack your cups really well. Let me know if you got them okay so she can quit freaking!
BooBear
10:21 am on September 18th, 2013
BooBear: Mom thought she had mentioned that the 4 cups arrived safe and sound quite a while ago. Sorry she was stress’n about this! Your mom did an incredible packing job…the cups are in purrfect shape. Thank you so much!
10:33 am on September 18th, 2013
Thank you, Masquers. I’m sorry if I missed a post saying they had arrived. Glad there was no breakage.
BB
10:37 am on September 18th, 2013
BooBear: This time we also sent a SDD!
10:53 am on September 18th, 2013

10:56 am on September 18th, 2013
Yipee! I love your avatar, Teddy. Lookin’ good!
11:00 am on September 18th, 2013
Ruff Rider! Woo and hoo! Looking good, pal. Pancho and Lefty want me to tell you they’ll be by for some devil dog time when your maw and paw aren’t looking.
My Lady is at the airport waiting to board. It has been another long week of travel, but today is her last day on the road until Sunday. That means she’ll be with me, me, me this weekend. She’s tried to keep up on the blog, and says there is way too much to comment on but can’t remember it all. She has been thinking of all youse.
11:05 am on September 18th, 2013
Teddy!!!! Welcome to the Blog! It is great to see your avatar and seeing your very own posts!!!
11:08 am on September 18th, 2013

11:13 am on September 18th, 2013
I have a special announcement to make. As youse all know, the past two years the Giant’s sled has been damaged during the race. He’s been able to fix some, not all of the damage on the trail and make it mostly drivable again. Unlike other mushers, we haven’t shipped out an extra sled, but this year will be different. Thanks to my very, most, special, best friend Wose and my very sparkly Professor Grizz, AJ will have a second sled on the trail. This sled, called a finishing sled, is lighter weight and will be great for the last 2/3—whatever that is—for the race. He will switch to it after the most difficult sections of trail are over. Because of the sled sponsorship made by Wose and Grizz, AJ was able to have a sled made to his height specifications by a local sled maker—this will alleviate stress and fatigue in his shoulders. We are very grateful. Our dog dish runneth over. Sniff.

11:24 am on September 18th, 2013
A Standing Ovation for Wose & Grizz!!! Sniff.
11:29 am on September 18th, 2013
Whoo Hooo Rose and Griz! Yowzer for you guys.
Travel day today. Down to Minneapolis to stay overnight with Dad.
You guys be good.
11:30 am on September 18th, 2013
Tenz: The new finishing sled is a real beauty! Although it seems a bit blurry right now. Must have something in my eye.
A big hi to Teddy RR from moi. We are looking forward to your posts!
11:31 am on September 18th, 2013
Sorry, Belle, that was you not Tenz.
Staff: Safe travels.
11:41 am on September 18th, 2013
Eyes were and have been a little blurry here too because of Wose and Grizz and we’re not ashamed to admit it. It is the lightest weight sled that the Giant has which will help keep weight down. He is very excited. I am thinking about going with Wose and Grizz to meet Teddy’s maw and Wookie’s paw, but my Two-legged says it’s not polite to invite myself.
12:13 pm on September 18th, 2013
OK all, we need to say to be careful with those blurry eyes ( Mom has ’em too), because if ya’ll are in AK and try to hug doing that, ya’ll might freeze together 🙂
9:23 pm on October 2nd, 2013
Frequently I can’t study write-up in information sites, on the other hand want to point out that this write-up pretty forced me to view and do this! Your own writing style is astonished myself. Thank you so much, pleasant write-up.
