Good morning, everyone! Biting…..GRRRRRR. A newscaster said folks won’t remember the 33 goals he scored for Liverpool. Fair enough, who can name 3 good things Adolph Hitler did?
Have a trembly great, bite free (except for perps) Thursday.

What is with that guy? He has bitten before. Acceptable in some cases (grabbing a pant leg), but not in soccer. Two leggeds usually outgrow that bad habit in preschool.

Luis Suarez…BOO! Has he been thrown out of the World Cup? Where does he think he is anyway…a Boxing Match?

Barb is now leaving for work. Needs to pay for her expensive day yesterday!

Did she tell you she found a Fitz and Floyd piece at Home Goods for Kelly’s b-day in July? It is a huge piece with suggested retail of $200.00. They had it for $99.00, and then marked down to $45.00, because 2 little trim pieces had come off. A little glue and no one will know. That was a deal!

Morning all. Guess you would never win an argument with that guy by saying”Oh, bite me!”.

Barb – what is a Fitz and Floyd? We do love deals like that; Mama thinks that the two of you would have a good time bargain hunting.

Still hot and humid here. Another salad-for-dinner day.

Interesting tunnel story last night, C.Hobbit! Who would try a getaway from Whittier? It would be impossible.

    Greetings!

Grizz and I are getting ready to hit the trail back to New York. Teddy took us on a long hike yesterday, trying to get me and Grizz back to fighting shape. It was beautiful on the trail. Then we want to Billings Farm. Very interesting to see the differences in farming in the present day and in the 1800’s. It was a really fun time, so much in fact, Grizz and I hit the sheets early.

We want to thank our wonderful hosts, Debbie, Maury, and Teddy for the lovely time we spent in the Green Mountain State. Youse guys are the best!

    Special kisses to Teddy!!!

Bee – we a!so went to the Billings Farm last year, and it was very interesting.

Not being from a farm family, many of the aspects of this model farm seemed so very practical and well thought out; it is possible that any farmer would know about them, but it all seemed ingenious to us.

The farmhouse itself was a model of efficiency with the bottom of the house devoted to the processing of the milk, the root cellar, the cider press, the cold room etc, all accessible without going outside.

The farm is the legacy of the Rockefeller family, and was the American originator of the Jersey breed of cows.

did not anyone get the pun of the sign?

Well ready or not here we go again. Bladder cancer, hopefully stage 0. We won’t know for sure until the results come back, but this is the doc’s best guess. It does not seem to have invaded the inner workings of the bladder, just the surface. The treatment will not be a lot of fun for mom, as it will be administered through the urethra, but there should not be any of the usual side effects such as hair loss or nausea. Yea! Get the good kind of cancer, if such a thing exists.

    Adventures in Cooking with Mr.Fireslippers…

He decided to make Coq au Vin without the Vin (Balsamic vinegar instead). He found the recipe in the Successful Farming magazine. I supplied him with fresh sage, oregano, rosemary and parsley from the garden. I was allowed to chop up the herbs, carrots, mushrooms and tomatoes. When he was making the sauce I kept asking him if he had added the flour. He kept saying “yes”. Finally I asked him to show me where he got the flour. He showed me the powdered sugar container. He had to start over on the sauce.

He has done this once before when he was making Chicken pot pie. Maybe I should label the cannisters?
