Good morning, everyone! Biting…..GRRRRRR. A newscaster said folks won’t remember the 33 goals he scored for Liverpool. Fair enough, who can name 3 good things Adolph Hitler did?
Have a trembly great, bite free (except for perps) Thursday.
8:34 am on June 26th, 2014
What is with that guy? He has bitten before. Acceptable in some cases (grabbing a pant leg), but not in soccer. Two leggeds usually outgrow that bad habit in preschool.
9:10 am on June 26th, 2014
Blondie: Looking Good. Welcome to FOC.
Luis Suarez…BOO! Has he been thrown out of the World Cup? Where does he think he is anyway…a Boxing Match?

Barb is now leaving for work. Needs to pay for her expensive day yesterday!
Did she tell you she found a Fitz and Floyd piece at Home Goods for Kelly’s b-day in July? It is a huge piece with suggested retail of $200.00. They had it for $99.00, and then marked down to $45.00, because 2 little trim pieces had come off. A little glue and no one will know. That was a deal!

Leave it to a poodle to be a fashion statement 🙂

9:45 am on June 26th, 2014
Morning all. Guess you would never win an argument with that guy by saying”Oh, bite me!”.
Barb – what is a Fitz and Floyd? We do love deals like that; Mama thinks that the two of you would have a good time bargain hunting.
Still hot and humid here. Another salad-for-dinner day.

Good morning! Welcome all new FOCs, especially our very own Blondie.
Interesting tunnel story last night, C.Hobbit! Who would try a getaway from Whittier? It would be impossible.
And ML, remember: we will always have Whittier!

Greetings!
Grizz and I are getting ready to hit the trail back to New York. Teddy took us on a long hike yesterday, trying to get me and Grizz back to fighting shape. It was beautiful on the trail. Then we want to Billings Farm. Very interesting to see the differences in farming in the present day and in the 1800’s. It was a really fun time, so much in fact, Grizz and I hit the sheets early.
We want to thank our wonderful hosts, Debbie, Maury, and Teddy for the lovely time we spent in the Green Mountain State. Youse guys are the best!
Special kisses to Teddy!!!

Forgot. Will post pictures when we get back.
RIO! I hope you had a good time!
10:12 am on June 26th, 2014
Is there a penalty for biting?
Rose: What are some of the differences in farming between today and the 1800’s?
Good morning all.

HRH B, should we start with genetically altered seeds of chemical fertilizers?
10:35 am on June 26th, 2014
Bee – we a!so went to the Billings Farm last year, and it was very interesting.
Not being from a farm family, many of the aspects of this model farm seemed so very practical and well thought out; it is possible that any farmer would know about them, but it all seemed ingenious to us.
The farmhouse itself was a model of efficiency with the bottom of the house devoted to the processing of the milk, the root cellar, the cider press, the cold room etc, all accessible without going outside.
The farm is the legacy of the Rockefeller family, and was the American originator of the Jersey breed of cows.

Yes, the vampire has been thrown out of the World Cup and some more games beyond that. He is a striker. That is an important position.
GO USA!!
Rio, I hope your friend will be able to listen to the game this morning.

Macy’s Mom, Prayers for you and your mom today.
NO, You cannot sign me up for water walking, but mom thinks it sounds like a fun and cooling thing to do.
11:00 am on June 26th, 2014
Siber: Serial or surreal? Interesting side note: the referee who, by the way did not see what happened on the field, has a nickname of Dracula. You can’t make this stuff up.
ML: Prayers for your mom.
11:04 am on June 26th, 2014
ML–thinking of you and yours this a.m.
Everyone–All digits crossed for the U.S. I agree that yesterday’s biting guy was weird, but surely there’s some use to which his odd proclivity can be put (if I can just think of one…)
Rio–It was the beer part, not the leg part…
11:05 am on June 26th, 2014
Hounds: Now that is one Good Looking Poodle!
Wose: Y’all climbing mountains reminded us of the book you lent us last year about the little Mountain Climbing Dog.
Waiting with baity breath for your Photos.
The Difference in Farming between then and now? Let me count the ways.

Wowser, our ML is returning! Macy, you keep up what ever you are doing with her.
11:15 am on June 26th, 2014
T&G: Thank you for the explanation.
Siber-H: I just read a news article about the suspension of the biting soccer player. I guess there were teeth marks on the shoulder of the player he bit.
11:16 am on June 26th, 2014
Send in the clowns? Don’t bother, get beer (in honor of Rio).
11:19 am on June 26th, 2014
Just a thought: how about a Mike Tyson/Luis Suarez chew off?
11:36 am on June 26th, 2014
HIOH–Yes! I know “people” who would pay to see that!
11:45 am on June 26th, 2014
Macy – the prayers are going up even as we post. All paws crossed.
“Celebrity athletes”. Boo.
11:46 am on June 26th, 2014

We lost the game, but we are still advancing out of the Group of Death. Everyone in that stadium is so happy…both the Americans and the Germans.

ML: thinking of you and your mom
Yesterday, Sadie was fed up with being a “mom” to Ikette. Today she loves him again. She’s been such a help playing with him so we might make it to Saturday after all.
2:16 pm on June 26th, 2014
CHobbit, when you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on…you’ll get there O.K.
2:40 pm on June 26th, 2014
We virtual friends of Ikette are sure going to miss him.
2:58 pm on June 26th, 2014
Ditto to that!

Inspired by BooBear’s Mom & Rio’s Friend, Nana has sent a late, Late Entry into Auction Central.
Luna & Thieves! Be on the Lookout!
3:03 pm on June 26th, 2014
C.Hobbit: I’ll bet you & Sadie Bear will miss him too.

The other day we opened the door for a clown, it was a nice jester.
3:25 pm on June 26th, 2014
LOL.
5:27 pm on June 26th, 2014
Speaking of Clowns…IT was one of the Best S. King Books we have read.
They should Never try to make these Books into Movies.
or TV Shows…Under the Dome just isn’t cutting it. But we did hear word Mr. SK himself will be making a Hitchcock-like appearance in the Season 2 opener.

BSD, Mom agrees with you about IT.
5:57 pm on June 26th, 2014
did not anyone get the pun of the sign?
Well ready or not here we go again. Bladder cancer, hopefully stage 0. We won’t know for sure until the results come back, but this is the doc’s best guess. It does not seem to have invaded the inner workings of the bladder, just the surface. The treatment will not be a lot of fun for mom, as it will be administered through the urethra, but there should not be any of the usual side effects such as hair loss or nausea. Yea! Get the good kind of cancer, if such a thing exists.
6:13 pm on June 26th, 2014
Macy’s Mom: We DID get the pun on the sign.
Sorry about this Latest not great development. But on the other paw is the Good News…it is Treatable.
We’re Here for You & Your Mom.
6:32 pm on June 26th, 2014
Treatable or S L O W is the kind we’d like to hear if any. We are on you side, all of us…kick it to the curb, girlfriend.
6:36 pm on June 26th, 2014
Macy’s Mom: I am sick and tired of that “C” word. You give that cancer the BIGGEST kick to the curb! Strong prayers and pawsitive thoughts are with you always.
6:40 pm on June 26th, 2014
HRH, B, At Billings Farm, we went into the milking room. Big difference there. I can’t imagine a herd of cows being milked by hand. Now the herd gets milked by machines.
6:44 pm on June 26th, 2014
Macy’s Mom, As others have said, not the best news, but not terrible either, as it is an early stage and a treatable type of cancer. Sorry she has to go thru this and especially now.
We did like your joke about the juggler. We are not fans of clowns.
6:46 pm on June 26th, 2014
T & G, Kelly loves Fitz and Floyd. This is a photo of the large tureen Barb got her for her birthday. She is hard to buy for, so this was a great find.

This week, we learned that the Game of Thrones opening credit sequence is much better when redone with pugs:

Choose Hope an off-shoot of the Am. C. Society says the official color for bladder C is: marigold/blue/purple all together. So get out you colors this summer and support ML 🙂

Barb&Maggie: That is an amazing piece of china.
MacyMinPin: Carpola! Tell your Mom to get on her sh*t kicking boots.
I’m off to the cemetery to re unite my m-i-l with her husband. After we will grill steaks and visit with the out-of-towners. Won’t be back until late.
I “got” the puns!
7:10 pm on June 26th, 2014
Masquers: someone has WAY TOO MUCH time on their hands 🙂

Thank you Rose.

Sending Bear Hugs.
8:37 pm on June 26th, 2014
Thrones!…OMYDawg!…snort!….Someone says she will be sending that link to the Hot-Shot tomorrow because he is a HUGE Game of Thrones junkie….grunt!
8:43 pm on June 26th, 2014
Macy’s Mom–a) got the pun and richly enjoyed it.
b) first choice is of course no cancer, and treatment doesn’t sound like fun, but this is at least treatable. Paws crossed for this being a particularly slothful growth. (LAZY undisciplined cells)
8:43 pm on June 26th, 2014
ML – dam dam dam! Dam that freakin’ cancer! We hate it more than we hate hissing cockroaches, more than we hate a dinner of liver and beets with tapioca dessert, more than we hate Michael Vick and dog fighting (and that is saying something!).
But it is early detection, and it is curable and we will be here for you and your mother anytime you need us.

Adventures in Cooking with Mr.Fireslippers…
He decided to make Coq au Vin without the Vin (Balsamic vinegar instead). He found the recipe in the Successful Farming magazine. I supplied him with fresh sage, oregano, rosemary and parsley from the garden. I was allowed to chop up the herbs, carrots, mushrooms and tomatoes. When he was making the sauce I kept asking him if he had added the flour. He kept saying “yes”. Finally I asked him to show me where he got the flour. He showed me the powdered sugar container. He had to start over on the sauce.
He has done this once before when he was making Chicken pot pie. Maybe I should label the cannisters?
snicker.
8:48 pm on June 26th, 2014
BSD and Masquers–What an improvement! I’m starting to understand who is whom of GOT. Thanks.
8:54 pm on June 26th, 2014
Not quite sure how we feel about the facebookie post on the right. Certainly strange.
9:02 pm on June 26th, 2014
Chicken pot pie with powdered sugar, Oh My!
Dawson, Sounds like a nice celebration of life for your MIL.
9:04 pm on June 26th, 2014
HOH: YEEP!
9:06 pm on June 26th, 2014
I don’t think I like that! Just because the adrenalin junkie wants to risk his life doesn’t mean he should take the dog along for the ride. Do you think the dog is having fun?
9:08 pm on June 26th, 2014
Mom will go through the Whittier tunnel again before she flies like that. ML, Hobbit, OH, Dawson and DDD know how mom felt about that 🙁
9:12 pm on June 26th, 2014
MagPie, your Mom picked out a drop-dead gorgeous tureen! Wow!
9:14 pm on June 26th, 2014
Just in case Kelly doesn’t like it, we will take it immediately to Princess Sam’s house. However, I think Kelly is going to love it!
9:24 pm on June 26th, 2014
MPM, It would go perfectly in your daughter’s house too! They have similar taste.
10:09 pm on June 26th, 2014

12:15 am on June 27th, 2014
Pugnacious pearls of pug poop.
11:08 am on June 27th, 2014
Outrageous! that guy should be forced into humane “re-education” before being allowed to share in ANY dog’s life
