Good morning all.
Ah, a clue about the new book?
Prayer with Melanie today, and all quilt dwellers. Take care, Everybody.
By the way, Rio – loved the picture of your Christmas tree and Beau. And the stuffed pug 🙂
9:11 am on December 19th, 2013
Greetings!
Bluecat it is nice to see you up top!
Christmas wrapping will be done the next few days.
All under the quilt, good thoughts and prayers are with you.
Admin, Yes I do remember that story. Heroes….feh!
9:21 am on December 19th, 2013
Wonder what the connection is to Paw and Order. I don’t remember the story.
Good morning all.
9:24 am on December 19th, 2013
Good morning, everyone! Good thoughts with Melanie on this first liver visit we think.
Being close to winter, let’s have a Thermal Thursday.
9:29 am on December 19th, 2013
We think there is a definite connection to Paw and Order. Possibly there is a Anna type character in the story. And we bet she is attracted to our Bernie.
9:31 am on December 19th, 2013
Thought and prayers are with Melanie today. Hope she has a pawsitive day at the the liver place.
Wonder if Chet will say the Anna character smells like borscht.
10:40 am on December 19th, 2013
It would seem the news article may be a Clue to Paw & Order.
Keep the hints coming, Spence!
Melanie: Sending Pawsitive Thoughts your way that all goes smoothly today.
Good Morning All. Have a good one.
10:40 am on December 19th, 2013
Morning everyone. Well, the folks are off to Boston for the last show of the season.
We are off to the living room and den to see what destruction we can create in their absence.

Herbs: On this weekend before the holiday, please wish your folks safe trip, happy customers and big sales. ^..^

11:14 am on December 19th, 2013
I don’t remember this story. It has to have something to do with Paw and Order.
I’m glad Natasha’s name was not mentioned in this article. She is far more clever than the spies who got busted.
11:30 am on December 19th, 2013
Herbs: Of course…that goes without mentioning…the evidence will be there when they return. Heh, heh.
Siber: It will be interesting to hear what our Natasha has to say about the new book.
11:45 am on December 19th, 2013
Spies!….snort!…I like the part that says, “No pictures or TV footage of the ceremony were released.”….heh!heh! ….Youse guys obviously have not watched that new show called, “The Americans”….grunt!…. It follows a typical American family whose maw and paw happen to be Russian Spies. This show is set during the Reagan years and the Cold War was very heated to say the least…gruffle!
11:45 am on December 19th, 2013
Smoochers: I’ve taken our hospital disguises out of storage so we can be with Melanie today. We can arrive in the bedazzled ambulance so we blend in with the normal coming and goings of the medical world.
11:45 am on December 19th, 2013
Blu-Kat!…snort!
11:49 am on December 19th, 2013
Ugh!….Melanie is having a dreaded Procedure done today…gah!
11:50 am on December 19th, 2013
Bluecat: Smart thinking. I was wondering why Spence was posting this link.
Melanie: Hope the doctors answer all your questions and the appointment goes smoooooothly.
T&G’s Mum: Go get ’em! Or maybe “Come and get it!” Here’s to a sell-out show.
12:36 pm on December 19th, 2013
Winter advisory last night of 5-7″ of snow. My first thought after grabbing the snow shovel this morning was of Melanie. Sending her my positive thoughts.
Wose: I know you want to run away and become a dog handler for Snowhook. Here is a nice article on what it entails by a musher who has won the Yukon Quest twice:

12:40 pm on December 19th, 2013
For Belle Starr: Here is an update on your little piggy. She is wearing a sweater and booties to keep warm. Doesn’t her body look as big as her head?
12:45 pm on December 19th, 2013
CHobbit: I must have that baby piggy or I’m going to be in a bad mood.
1:15 pm on December 19th, 2013
Even I think that piggy is cute in the sweater and booties!!!
Maggie, please tell Barb thank you for the nice compliment on Mom’s Christmas mantle. She is a bit of a Christmas decoration freak but she was pleased with how it turned out this year. A friend told her it looked like Christmas threw up in her living room, so she was worried it was too much. We think it is just right.
Thinking of you, Melanie.
1:18 pm on December 19th, 2013
Thanks C.Hobbit, Good article.
That is exactly the kind of baby piggy Belle Starr should have…a stuffed one. It is kinda cute.
2:45 pm on December 19th, 2013
I wonder if I can sneek that puppy of a piggy past the Giant and the Damn Pixie Who Stole My Sparkles.
2:52 pm on December 19th, 2013
Melanie is done with her procedures. They wanted to do more, but Team Smoocher put our collective foot down. Now she is on her way home, and I am back at my home where I see a brand new pair of Alaska boots!!! Woo Hooo, so it must be real. We must be going to Alaska. While I am up there, I might just apply for the position of Dog Handler’s Assistant, if Wose will have me.
2:54 pm on December 19th, 2013
Great article, C. Hobbit, thanks for sharing.
The face on that piglet couldn’t be any cuter, and it looks so real!
DIL just called and asked if Barb had ever heard of Herbs de Provence. Barb told her, “Actually I just bought some yesterday”. She started laughing because she thought Barb was kidding. NOT!
3:08 pm on December 19th, 2013
Kat, I am ready to go! AJ and the Pixie taught me the kind of gear that I need to keep warm. CHECK
Scoop poop. CHECK Lots of that done when I had my kat, Kelly. Cleaned up a lot of hair balls and kitty upchuck.
Fishheads. CHECK My first job was in a supermarket deli.
Little to know pay. CHECK. Have I told you I lost my job?
Love dogs. CHECK
Long periods of darkness. CHECK I never walk on the sunny side of the street.
Wolves, foxes, and any other unpleasant animals. CHECK. I used to work with them all!
Snowhook, may I have a job application?
3:09 pm on December 19th, 2013
Hobbit, Thanks for the article. : )
4:08 pm on December 19th, 2013
Success!!!! The cards are in the post office. The woman who works there assured us that all cards will arrive before Christmas. Mom has never been this late with her cards before, so I had to help her out. Really, who buys cards that don’t come with self-stick envelopes??? My tongue is so dry. Yech!
4:10 pm on December 19th, 2013
Wose, You seem to be well qualified for the job! How are you on the “Must be able to lift 50 lbs.”?
4:10 pm on December 19th, 2013
Wose- sounds like you could come live with us and be our personal valet. Our current servants keep leaving us alone on weekends.
Oh, and Gramp wants us to tell you that Callie is starting to come around. It had been a few bad days, but she seemed to turn a positive corner yesterday. We only had two “eruptions” from her incision instead of the 10 or so we have been dealing with. And this morning she looks lots better.
Whew!
Mama was worried sick about leaving, but Gramp seemed to think it was all good. We plan on being on extra purr duty while they are gone. ( in between shredding packages of course)
4:21 pm on December 19th, 2013
Wose: It may be a little known fact, but I’m really in charge here at the kennel. I have made the executive decision that you are to be our Handler Extrodinaire. You can help me hide the baby piggy. I wonder if we can live at the Hobbit Hotel if we get discovered with the baby piggy.
Lefty is at the vet today because of an abcess. When he returns home, I will help Mama Luna take care of him and his dancing giraffes.
4:33 pm on December 19th, 2013
Ok, I give. What makes you think that isn’t a real piglet? It looks very real to me.
4:35 pm on December 19th, 2013
Herbs, You two take good care of Callie and Gramps.
I hope Lefty is going to be okay. I’m sure he is. Me and Rio….Lefty is our sponsoree.
4:40 pm on December 19th, 2013
Boobear, we have to admit, it looks real to us too, but Siber said it was a toy, so we went with that. We will throw him under the bus!
4:43 pm on December 19th, 2013
SiberH: I thought I was taking the Giant to the vet. I had no idea he was taking me. It’s all fun and thieving until someone ends up in a cone.
4:44 pm on December 19th, 2013
B&M, Does it count that I once carried 50 extra pounds of my own weight around?
5:00 pm on December 19th, 2013
Wose: When I’m back to feeling tip top, I will carry you. You don’t weigh more than a bad of dog food.
5:29 pm on December 19th, 2013
Wose: It’s called an Early Retirement and it is a good thing.
You are now available for your Dream Job in Alaska.
5:30 pm on December 19th, 2013
Are Barb and Maggie going to throw me under the bus?
5:30 pm on December 19th, 2013
Waiting for an update on the Hot Water situation.
5:34 pm on December 19th, 2013
Meashka: Your cards may arrive at their destinations before the 25th, but will the ones we sent? Time will Tell.
5:41 pm on December 19th, 2013
Siber, no worries. It is just an expression, meaning we were blaming you for saying the piggy was not real.
Wose, Not sure if that qualifies, but we do give you lots of credit for losing 50 pounds. Barb is planning to lose weight in 2014 just to let you know.
5:52 pm on December 19th, 2013
Jeez -NO ONE ELSE IS TO LOSE WEIGHT! Mama keeps finding it.
5:54 pm on December 19th, 2013
Herbs: Stuck to your story and all will be well.

6:05 pm on December 19th, 2013
I am sure that the Howling Chickens will be getting this soon.
6:09 pm on December 19th, 2013
When they build me that castle, I will move outside. And not a moment sooner.
6:10 pm on December 19th, 2013
Barb and Maggie, That is interesting. I have never heard that expression.
Macy, LOL
6:12 pm on December 19th, 2013
I thought the piggy was real. I am still drooling, so therefore: it must be real.
Macy, I would like to be your union rep. It seems to me that you do most of the work at that there knife shop, and I believe you are due better compensation. How about it? Want me to go to bat for you?
6:16 pm on December 19th, 2013
Is a southernism.
6:18 pm on December 19th, 2013
Fern!….Stick to yer guns girl!…snort!…Say, how big are your wings? I need to know in case something goes terribly awry…heh!heh!
6:20 pm on December 19th, 2013
Meashka, you got it! I am in charge of packing and quality control and I still get the same old kibble. I do get to check the quality of the Beer Bones, so it is not all bad. Thanks for having my back.
Siber? Really? You never heard the expression “throw me under the bus”? You must only know nice people. I like that about you.
6:20 pm on December 19th, 2013
Bus!…That expression is used a lot at the bad busy-place. She has not heard it once since moving to the new busy-place…snort!
6:21 pm on December 19th, 2013
Rio, Please go kick this guy’s butt.

6:25 pm on December 19th, 2013
Grump!….I sure hope that is not the same place the hot-shot worked for when he was mushing tourists around…sniff!…If I could leave my yard I would definitely try to bite that b@st@ard with my teeth that do not come together quite right…grumble!wheeze!
6:29 pm on December 19th, 2013
Siber, It is an expression meaning you are sacrificing someone by blaming them for something that is not really their fault. A scapegoat more or less. Used a sports and politics, and at Rio’s friend’s old work place.
6:35 pm on December 19th, 2013
This guy has had prior charges against him and these charges are only misdemeanors. Should be more serious, and he should face jail time. Or give Rio an hour with him!
6:41 pm on December 19th, 2013
Throwing someone under the bus is a very common term. Here is an example. Dima and Kat and I eat chicken. When Mom sees what we did, Dima and I would tell her it was Kat who had the idea and pressured us to do it. We’d throw her under the bus faster than a Sibe can eat a burger. Heh!
6:56 pm on December 19th, 2013
That is the most exquisite chicken coop we have ever seen. Was that picture taken in Oley, PA?
7:00 pm on December 19th, 2013
Rio: You distract the bastard and I’ll attack him from behind. I’d love to introduce him to my brothers. There are six of us and our teeth come together nicely.
7:11 pm on December 19th, 2013
Good dogs, Chomp is acceptable when a perp is involved,
7:17 pm on December 19th, 2013
Rose, that is the best job application I have ever seen!
Riö, Get that guy.
I am sending the pic of the chicken castle to my sister. I think her three hens would enjoy it.
7:24 pm on December 19th, 2013
Thank you for all of your support. I don’t believe anyone noticed the tail coming out of the white coat at all. And I think the sparkly glitter on the coat was thought to be Holiday cheer.
My Mechanical Engineer Nephew drove. (Thank Dog) Being fellow geeks we had a wonderful conversation both there and back. He did mention that he had more Christmas shopping to do. I told him to drop me off and hit the two biggest malls in the Boston area that are right next to the Clinic. He asked me if I needed support. Since it was blood tests and talking to two people I told him to go ahead.
Blood tests were a cinch. I guess I really didn’t need to stay up late and study.
My next appointment was at 11 and it was only 10:40. I went into the waiting area to wait. The nice receptionist (they are NICE there, so unusual) came out and said the Nurse Practitioner was running late. No problem. I was going to eat something, drink water and rest.
The receptionist got very concerned. I told her it was okay. I was having trouble with my blood sugar levels and just needed to eat. Then she wanted to get me food. I bring food with me now. So no problems.
7:31 pm on December 19th, 2013
So how was the talk?
7:31 pm on December 19th, 2013
The Nurse Practitioner and D O C were great. Got all my questions answered.
WARNING
This next part is not for the faint of heart.
The shunt procedure on the 30th will be more involved than the placement of the Bucky Balls in January. They will deliver an iso tope to the tumor and in around 1 to 2 hours see where it ends up. If it stays in the tumor everything is fine. If not, they will reenter and tie little pieces of metal about the veins and branches that are leading to the wrong places. Cutting them off to the Bucky Balls that will be put in in January.
Cool, huh?
Anyhoo, liked them both. Told them I was doing my best to “Keep My Eye on the Donut NOT the hole.” They liked that and wrote it down.
Headed up stairs. I have a pic that I will put up later. Just for the Kats of the Blog!
7:35 pm on December 19th, 2013
Wow, Melanie, Nice AND Helpful. Good for you, I mean it was good FOR you. Hope all continues to go as well.
7:38 pm on December 19th, 2013
What are Bucky Balls?
7:39 pm on December 19th, 2013
Gee, thanks Melanie, now we are hungry for donuts! Here’s to keeping all the isotopes in place.
MPM…I can’t bear to throw away the envelope with that sweet face on it.
CHobbit, that letter was exhausting!
Thanks, Bluekat ^.^
7:40 pm on December 19th, 2013
Melanie: Look at what Chet posted on facebook. ->
7:57 pm on December 19th, 2013
Belle Starr: The Hobbit Hotel has an open door policy for humans and nonhumans. However, there are some restrictions placed on singing kats and farting dogs.
Barb: remember if you are coming to Alaska “fluffy is good!”
8:06 pm on December 19th, 2013
Thanks C. Will keep you posted.
Melanie explained what Bucky Balls are, but we really didn’t understand. It sounded like something that wasn’t really being used yet. Maybe she could explain in more simple terms. Is it like chemo?
8:15 pm on December 19th, 2013
Barb, chemo is systemic and buckyballs are directed right at the target.
8:21 pm on December 19th, 2013
Lefty, I think I might weight a tad more than a bag of dog food! Ever since I was kicked to the curb by my former busy place, I have become a little rounder in all the wrong places.
Belle Starr, I will help you get that little piggy past the Pixie and the Giant. And thank you for accepting my job application.
Melanie, I am glad that things went well and that nice people cared for you.
HerbKats , I would love to come and hang with youse when your mum and da are away.
8:33 pm on December 19th, 2013
RIO! You didn’t see any TMGs around today, did you?
8:45 pm on December 19th, 2013
Rose!…Whatever you are talking about survived the Massive Maurading Goat attacks today…snort!snort!….It has been put in a special place waiting for the special day when I will get to see it…grunt!
8:50 pm on December 19th, 2013
Thieves!…Be Damned! No I am not talking about Lefty and Pancho….grunt!…I am talking about how grumpy my friend is because she had to come home from the busy-place and immediately find out that she had to cancel her credit card….grump!…The credit card she used once at T@rget for a 13.00 purchase back in November….growl!grump!spit!….She was on hold for over a half hour and then got disconnected…grrrr!…Tried again and finally after another half hour she was able to get a person on the line and change her credit card…sniff!…Thieves! I hope they rot in hell for ever and ever!…gruffle!
9:00 pm on December 19th, 2013
Melanie. YES! Positively perfect attitude. We are rooting for you. Glad to know today went well.
Good luck Amalia and Leonard. Hope the hoards are shopping and the weather is helpful. We are supposed to get a few inches tonight. Not enough to worry about hopefully.
CHobbit. So how much snow have you received so far this year?
Wose, go for the dream job kiddo.
Spies. Girl spies. hmmmmm. Better watch out Chet. Make sure you have Bernie’s back
Dawson, how is it going?
9:02 pm on December 19th, 2013
Oh Rio! I read about that T@rget hack. Gosh I hope everything is OK now. What a pain.
9:10 pm on December 19th, 2013
Staff: Looking forward to the Winter Solstice. Happy I never got that Target card.
9:14 pm on December 19th, 2013
A ttttaaadddd tired here, so all questions will be answered tomorrow. Took a nap. Woke up and decided that bed would be more comfortable.
My eyes are heavy so it’s TTFN
For Chet’s Blog Kats. Snicker

9:15 pm on December 19th, 2013
Staff: I will need to research the snow accumulation in Anchorage. All I know is that I had to shovel another 5″ of the stuff this morning.
Sadie has been limping today (right hind leg) but is more than able to hop on my bed. Hmmm
9:16 pm on December 19th, 2013
Staff!….Someone here does not shop for the sake of shopping…grunt!…She never as a rule shops at places like that EVER except that one day she needed some allergy medicine and was near the store…grumble!…Now,never ever really means never ever…spit!
9:17 pm on December 19th, 2013
Melanie!….snort!
9:22 pm on December 19th, 2013
Snow-Kat!….I wonder how they got AbbieTheKat to stay still while they covered her with snow…chorkel!
9:22 pm on December 19th, 2013
Facebookie! I just looked at the post on Chet’s facebookie. I’m reminded of the day I met my Giant and my Lady. I was but a pup and the last of my litter. My paw ran out to check out the Giant and my Lady. He stood on his hind legs and put his front paws on the Giant’s shoulders. They were face to face. The Giant got my paw’s stamp of approval. I took after my maw in the size department.
9:50 pm on December 19th, 2013
Luna!…Number 15 reminds me of a pug on steroids…grunt!
Question!…What do you call a guy who is an expert at sawing or cutting down trees?….sniff!
9:57 pm on December 19th, 2013
Apples!….This is weird. An apple commercial just made me spit and sputter with emotion…sniff!…That never happens. I almost sputtered pug tears when I read about Melanie’s day, but I did not, no I did not. Instead I felt a great deal of hope and thankfulness that she is indeed in the right paws….sniffle!snuffle!
10:01 pm on December 19th, 2013
Night all.
Rio, Not sure what that guy is called. Arborist? In the yellow pages, we would probably look under tree services.
10:03 pm on December 19th, 2013
#6 reminds me of Luna. She does not like the vet, no she does not.
Rio: I am hopeful about Melanie, too.

The problem with dreams, bad dreams or night terrors may be that they really are all especially due to the personal explanation provides towards particular individual experiencing the dream. Only two individuals have a very much the same dream but really mean different things in regards to one another. And so you must keep a balanced view when studying the knowledge inside the dream.
