What’s In A Name?

Mrs. Publicist: A few days late but let’s do What’s In A Name, where Pete discusses a character name from the Chet and Bernie series. How about Ms. Pernick, the accountant for the Little Detective Agency. For those who don’t know the series, Bernie’s last name is Little, hence the name of the agency. I don’t believe Ms. Pernick has actually appeared yet, but she’s been mentioned several times, including in It’s A Wonderful Woof, the latest C&B novel. Does Ms. Pernick have a first name?
Pete: Not that I know of. Yet.
Mrs. P: Why Pernick?
Pete: Well, it’s kind of the nucleus of persnickety. Which is maybe what you don’t want in an accountant, but it’s what you need.
Mrs. P: Thanks, Pete! See you on the Ides of March for the next edition of What’s In A Name.

As soon as I saw the name I thought, “persnickety.”

    Good day to all.
