Good morning, everyone! Health and strength to all under the quilt this AM, especially our Melanie. Love the Westminster show here. Good thing the TV is high or we’d put our noses on it. Glad Siber H is home.
Have a twice as nice Tuesday.
8:40 am on February 11th, 2014
I love the name Swagger.
Good morning all.
9:12 am on February 11th, 2014
Sick puppy here. Someone put an ant and roach trap in the screen room and Darah just brought it in and gave it to me (chewed of course) She is now splorting which I think is a good thing and she seems interested in doing breakfast again. Think it is ok? Never had this here, just poisoned mice.
9:29 am on February 11th, 2014
HOH Call your vet right away and ask. I know rat or mouse poison can kill a dog. Probably not ant poison, but get rid of that s**t. Got to be a safer way to deal with bugs.
Anxious to hear how Melanie is doing. Hope she had a good night’s sleep, but that is hard to do in the hospital.
A Cardi won the herding class. Barb loves Cardis!
9:34 am on February 11th, 2014
Greetings,
Wondering how Melanie is doing?
I hope Darah is okay. Jeez, doesn’t she get fed?
9:54 am on February 11th, 2014
This just in:
10:04 am on February 11th, 2014
Macy, great news. Mom and Daddy Dawg can sty home and this route will go by the house 🙂 Kinda like Snowhook…GO SNOWHOOK.
10:07 am on February 11th, 2014
RIP Shirley Temple, sniff.
10:09 am on February 11th, 2014
Morning all. No news so far from the hospital front, but we will keep you up to date.
10:14 am on February 11th, 2014
Mom spoke with vet. He said it is good she brought tummy contents up so quickly. Now we get to watch her for tremors or excessive drooling (in a newf, get real). Wose the girl EATS us out of house and home and still is slim and trim.
10:34 am on February 11th, 2014
HOH–It sounds like Darah’s strong constitution will see her through this, but good that you can stay home for the Iditarod now and keep an eye on her. (Yes, I know that was a joke.)
Looking forward to Westminster with the rest of you (even if Lhasas never catch a break).
Apparently there’s mushing on Southern California, but without snow…
Everyone have a wonderful Tuesday from me, Miss Pretty, Edgar and Conan.
10:45 am on February 11th, 2014
Read an article about Shirley Temple. She started in show biz at age 3 and retired by the time she was 20. For the amount of attention she received, she was remarkably normal. Not like the child stars today that are pretty dysfunctional and end up addicted or dead. She was married to her husband for 55 years till his death, so that is highly unusual for Hollywood too. She had a second career in politics, but said being a wife, mother and grandmother was her best role.
10:49 am on February 11th, 2014
I just got caught up on yesterday. Prayers for Melanie’s speedy return.
Nice to hear from SiberH again.
10:51 am on February 11th, 2014
Hospital!…Waiting on news from the hospital makes me crazy!….yeeep!…That means hospital humor…snort!
10:53 am on February 11th, 2014
B and M–I remember when she was named Ambassador to Ghana and thinking it was a strange posting for her, but apparently she handled the job well. (Hollywood is my home town, so I feel obligated to mention at the very least Ron Howard and Jennifer Grey as examples of people who had youthful stardom and went on to normal and productive lives…)
10:58 am on February 11th, 2014
Diane, you are right. Opie has become a very successful director. I knew Jennifer Grey was in Dirty Dancing, but didn’t realize she was a child star.
Just saw the Matt Lauer is replacing Bob Costas at the Olympics. His eye infection has gotten worse and NBC pulled him for now.
Off to run some errands.
11:14 am on February 11th, 2014
Rio: Melanie would like that cartoon.
11:33 am on February 11th, 2014
Rio – I will show her that cartoon when I go to the hospital.
Latest update – when we left the hospital a little after midnight, the doctor had just said Melanie would be admitted and put in a room so she could sleep. When we called this morning at 10, she was still in the ER as the hospital didn’t have any beds. However, the ER nurse said she would be going to a room within the next half hour, so she should be settled in by now.
More as we know more.
11:51 am on February 11th, 2014
Poor Melanie. ERs are so noisy. I hope she was able to get some rest and sleep. She must be exhausted!!
12:05 pm on February 11th, 2014
GAH!…That ER business sounds like a nightmare…yeeep!
12:21 pm on February 11th, 2014
HOH, Mom’s first Siberian seriously chewed up an ant trap. Mom rushed her to the vet who called poison control and they said not to worry. The dog was fine.
T&G Thanks for the Melanie updates. We are praying for her. No one likes to be in the hospital but I think it is good she was admitted.
Dawson, Thanks for the instructions last night. Instructions are always welcome. I was somewhat surprised that I actually got the computer turned on this morning and on the internet without having to call a geek.
Volunteers are rescuing some of the Sochi dogs.
Macy and Rio, Those are funny cartoons.
12:26 pm on February 11th, 2014
Melanie spent the night in the ER . Now has a room. Waiting for a scan I don’t remember ever hearing before. Her goal is to get treatment on the 25th. Thanks for all you do. Zoe
12:29 pm on February 11th, 2014
Westminster!….Beau and I just watched the Best in Breed video where Rufus won out of all those other pugs who looked just like him…snort!…Course there was on Black Pug who placed and now Beau thinks it was him…grunt!
12:32 pm on February 11th, 2014
Zoe!…Thanks for the update. How many times can they scan someone?…snort!….I wish someone would tell us how Melanie is feeling today…wheeze!
12:35 pm on February 11th, 2014
Zoe–What Rio said.
12:51 pm on February 11th, 2014
And Min-pins. I don’t mean to be colorist, but can a black mp get a break? All those prissy reds, think they are all that.
I think Matt Lauer found out about his new gig live this morning. He certainly looked surprised when Costas told him.
1:01 pm on February 11th, 2014
Yeep!
Zoe & Amalia: Thank you for the updates. Hang in there! We will be getting a topographically accurate map of Melanie’s innards before this is all over!
1:10 pm on February 11th, 2014
Wow, Dawason, that is something to look forward to 🙂 Darah is acting like Darah and the vet say she should be ok thank Dog. Melanie, Zoe and Amalia tru to get some rest.
1:21 pm on February 11th, 2014
Thanks for the updates Zöe & Amalia. We are glad Melanie finally has a room and hope she is able to get some rest.
Yes! Corgis and Min-Pins the little/big winners so far at Westminister…the Pugs & Belgium whatchamacallits not so lucky.
Poor Bob Costas. They should have called in someone to take over Olympic coverage much sooner.
SiberTechDog. We are so proud of you!
1:31 pm on February 11th, 2014
SiberTech!….Maybe he should be called, “SiberT” instead of SiberH…..nawww!…Too late to change now.
1:36 pm on February 11th, 2014
SiberT: That is the only thing I know how to do in Windows 8. Turn the machine off.
1:41 pm on February 11th, 2014
Update from Club Med
Melanie will be having a MRV tonight at 8 pm. This is the same type of thing as an MRI, but it is specifically looking at veins.
Melanie is going to sleep through the day after such a lousy night, and then we will go be with her this evening before the MRV and to tuck her in after.
There probably won’t be any other news today since they won’t be doing any more testing until tonight.
Film at 11. Ok, so not really, but we will let you know anything newsworthy.
1:43 pm on February 11th, 2014
T&G, tell your mama that she’s a peach.
1:48 pm on February 11th, 2014
T&G: Thank the Royal Mum for us. I will take a sympathy nap for Melanie.
1:58 pm on February 11th, 2014
Here’s hoping Melanie has a good day. – Admin
1:58 pm on February 11th, 2014
Dawson: Nap. That is an Excellent Idea!
Tupper&Gilly: Tell your Mum to join us and Zoe too. We know they are Exhausted.
1:59 pm on February 11th, 2014
Dawson and Mr.Husky,
THank you so much for the info on how to turn off my new Surface computer. heh. That has been on my mind. I am ready to start a list for the next call to the techs. Does anyone know how to change the time on the computer? It thinks I am in the pacific time zone. grump.
Oh Melanie, when I first heard stayed overnight I thought that was a good idea but didn’t know it would be IN THE EMERGENCY ROOM!
Sheesh.
Rest up today Mel. You too Amalia and Leonard.
I am making pea soup and while it is simmering I am going up to try the turning off of the computer thingy. Dawson, Dasha told me to add one potato to the soup so I did. Thanks for leaving the yellow split peas here.

2:00 pm on February 11th, 2014
Hey! Admin & I posted at the Same Time.
2:01 pm on February 11th, 2014
Heh, Melanie got a note from Admin…The things that woman will do for a little attention….(that was a joke)
;-D
2:05 pm on February 11th, 2014
Off to try and find wifi to make a call from our little GoPhone.
Dawson: Turn off the computer? Are you sure you want to do that?
Split pea soup sounds delish.
2:12 pm on February 11th, 2014
We will be sure to tell Melanie about the shout out. She will smile.
2:14 pm on February 11th, 2014
Used to be a restaurant & hotel through Calif. called Anderson’s and they made great split pea soup…Split Pea Anderson’s. Their mascots were Happee and Peewee.
2:15 pm on February 11th, 2014
Staff: Use the same setting you used to turn off the computer but instead of hitting the power button, click on “Change PC settings” then on “General”. Heh, heh.
2:21 pm on February 11th, 2014
Barb had to get Windows 8 when she bought her new computer last fall. Her SIL told her to buy the Windows 7 program and have the store install it, but that was not an option. Evidently stores were not allowed to continue to carry Windows 7 after 8 came out. Barb is not a techie and she is dealing with it just fine, but her computer usage is very basic. Jessica told her to turn it off at night by using the settings option, and to NOT turn it off by pushing the little button on the side of the screen.
2:34 pm on February 11th, 2014
Barb, The computer geek told me the same thing about turning off the computer. My computer usage is also very basic so I should do just fine.
I do like in Windows 8 how easy it is to keep several screens open at once while surfing siberspace.
2:34 pm on February 11th, 2014
OK, we know Melanie is in good hands and some of us have napped. 3 EST comes the early part os the Olympics. Still under a storm watch here with snow actually expected and mom can’t get warm…gah!
2:39 pm on February 11th, 2014
SiberH: I am in awe of you being able to keep several screens open at the same time. I have not evolved that far yet.
2:42 pm on February 11th, 2014
We think Siber was missing for two weeks cuz he was at Computer Camp.
2:49 pm on February 11th, 2014
HOH, Glad your little girl is OK. Scary stuff!
Poor Melanie, another test! Wonder if they will give the results to the doc in R.I.
All this talk about naps is giving Barb an idea. Later gators.
2:49 pm on February 11th, 2014
Mom will stick with her ipaw. When she worked it was always PC’s and they confused her. Yes, Rio, we know, easy to do.
2:56 pm on February 11th, 2014
Dawson, If you have an internet explorer icon in the lower left hand corner of your screen put your cursor over it and all the web pages that you haven’t completely closed out but have minimized will come up as a screen to open….just click on the one you want to open.
If you want to completely close out one of those screens a red x will appear (upper right hand corner) to click on in that screen once your curser is on it.
3:05 pm on February 11th, 2014
Wait!…This is not SiberH!…snort!…Someone dawgnapped him and sent us a SiberTechie instead….wheeze!
3:19 pm on February 11th, 2014
Rio, It is me….honest. I still don’t know how to do photos.
3:23 pm on February 11th, 2014
I, personally, am trying to imagine SiberH “surfing siberspace.” Sorry, but that does NOT compute.
WHO ARE YOU, IMPOSTER SIBER H AND WHERE IS OUR HUSKY????
4:02 pm on February 11th, 2014
Camp!…SiberH, did you sleep through the “How to Upload Photos 101” class during your Techie-Boot-Camp?…snort1
4:17 pm on February 11th, 2014
Rio, I must have been reading a story about Bigfoot on my Kindle during the photo upload class. For the life of me, I do not remember that class.
4:28 pm on February 11th, 2014
Sending healing thoughts to Melanie….
5:00 pm on February 11th, 2014
We are LOL over all this new Siber talk. Who would have thunk it.
And how great that Melanie got a shout out from Admin. That might make her feel a little perkier!
5:09 pm on February 11th, 2014
Costas!…Did any of youse see this?…snort!
Costas will get a night off tonight, with “Today” show host Matt Lauer replacing him. Perhaps the tipping point for Costas and his producers was Monday’s late-night broadcast, in which the always professional anchor downed vodka alongside Mary Carillo in a last-ditch effort to soothe his infection. “My eyes can’t get any redder,” he explained. “No matter what I do.”
5:29 pm on February 11th, 2014
Club Med Update – Melanie’s test time has been moved up to 6 tonight. We will still be going to see her at 6:30.
Won’t SHE get a kick out of our new Cyber-Siber?!
5:37 pm on February 11th, 2014
At 5 PM a house thumping BOOM here. Car careened off 3 trees across the road and landed half off road. Subaru- right side is toast. Driver ok. Mom’s been directing traffic while the “boys” took the Bobcat down and pulled her back on the road. Talk about excitement. We’e been barking encouragement.
5:40 pm on February 11th, 2014
Golly!… That is only about 20 minutes from now….snort!snort!
5:42 pm on February 11th, 2014
I like that T & G, Cyber-Siber. Good one.
HOH, You have had one heck of a day!
5:45 pm on February 11th, 2014
B&M, like Mama always said “If it’s not one thing, it’s something else”. At least Darah is OK as is the lady driving the car.
Melanie, strength , good thoughts and pawrayers.

6:07 pm on February 11th, 2014
It is Meashka’s birthday. HOWLers, please come back, min-pinplease?
6:08 pm on February 11th, 2014
Oh Dawg, You guys are making me laugh.
I am glad Golinka is visiting Melanie this evening.
HOH Glad everyone is okay except for the poor Subaru.
6:11 pm on February 11th, 2014
From one Howler to the others…Where are you guys and as Macy said, will you please come back.
Happy Birthday to The Hot One!!!
6:45 pm on February 11th, 2014
Barb just ordered a Madame Alexander First Communion doll for Lyla. Does anyone remember Madame Alexander dolls?
6:51 pm on February 11th, 2014
Remember? Mom has patterns for clothes for them. (for the grands, of course)
7:22 pm on February 11th, 2014
We miss the Howlers too. They are one of our favorites on the blog.
7:36 pm on February 11th, 2014
AAAAAH ooooooo, Howlers. miss Meshka, Dima, Kat and the ‘rents 🙁
7:57 pm on February 11th, 2014
This is how I am working the new computer. I go on the old computer and look up the problem I am having and then try to do what they say on the new computer. You have to be sure you get info on Windows 8.1 though because windows 8.0 is different!
Grunt.
7:59 pm on February 11th, 2014
I am fearing for Dima since the Howlers are off-line. They will be back I am sure. Might be a difficult time for them right now. Sometimes you just need some space.
8:05 pm on February 11th, 2014
Staff!…What is so different about Windows 8 etc?…snort!…I mean you guys freak out when the blog changes just a little, so I am kind of skeptical about how dawg-awful this version is…heh!heh!
8:32 pm on February 11th, 2014
Pant, pant, Pant (Darah here) Mom’s watching the Olympics. Did anyone see the Canadian named Dara in women’s ski slope style? OK so she can’t spell, but I love having the same name as a famous winter person!
8:37 pm on February 11th, 2014
Olympics!…We are flipping back and forth between Westminster and the Olympics..sniff!….Trouble is both channels seem to be advertising at the same time. It is a conspiracy!….grunt!
8:39 pm on February 11th, 2014
Mom gave Grandmother a Madame Alexander Tin Man for Christmas. Mom inherited several MAs from her great aunt, but they mostly need trips to the doll hospital.
8:40 pm on February 11th, 2014
HOH: Uh…yes! You mean the Dara who won gold for Canada? She was awesome! (Canadians are bad at spelling,)
8:42 pm on February 11th, 2014
Redhead!….Uh-oh! Another Redhead just won the sporting group…grunt!
8:42 pm on February 11th, 2014
The Irish Water Spaniel just won the sporting group. Riley looks a lot like a Poodle.
8:44 pm on February 11th, 2014
Or maybe a taller version of Bo Obama.
8:45 pm on February 11th, 2014
Well, at least the Golden was third in the sporting group. That’s better than they usually do. Best of all, when it was all done, the Golden was walking around, going are there any treats?
8:48 pm on February 11th, 2014
Golden!….Yup, at least a Golden finally placed in the top three…Woooo!…It’s been a long time coming…snorkel!
8:49 pm on February 11th, 2014
Treats!….He was probably looking for any that had been dropped by all the handlers and never scarfed up….heh!heh!….It happens.
8:50 pm on February 11th, 2014
Staff, Since I am getting along with Windows 8, I see no need to update to Windows 8.1
Do you think my idea is a good one?
Windows 8.1 would be another change, which I DO NOT want to deal with.
We are also worried about Dima
8:58 pm on February 11th, 2014
Working group on! Some beautiful big babies!
9:01 pm on February 11th, 2014
Working-It!…We here love the Working Group….snort!…Good looking guys and gals…chuffle!
9:04 pm on February 11th, 2014
Famous!….Banana Joe has his own commercial…snort!….That guy is doing well. I bet his treatie fund is over-flowing…chorkel!
9:08 pm on February 11th, 2014
DoberMan!….The Doberman is beautiful – the Handler is O-my-dawg strange looking…wheeze!…Natasha would have had something to say about that outfit too…choke!
9:09 pm on February 11th, 2014
Mr.Husky,
I think you are right. All the things I did to the computer before that change and now different. grrrrrr. And I do not have that ‘general’ link that Dawson talked about for turning the computer off. I think I will just do what one person suggested and just close the cover. Then it hibernates.
(((big sigh)))
9:09 pm on February 11th, 2014
Greetings all – last check in for the day from Club Med
Melanie is all tucked in and tuckered out. She has her blankies pulled up under her chin, the lights out and her pillows plumped just so.
We won’t know the results from tonight’s test until tomorrow.
We will let you know as we know.
And now, we are turning in too – g’night all.
9:13 pm on February 11th, 2014
They are talking about the Great Dane being a Mantel. That has to do with the color. Our next door neighbor has a relative that has visited with her Dane who is a Mantel. That is the only reason we had heard of it.
9:14 pm on February 11th, 2014
Tupper!….Good job keeping us all posted on Melanie…snuffle!…I hope she sleeps well tonight…wheeze!
9:21 pm on February 11th, 2014
Staff, Thanks…yes, that will be my plan.
I hope Melanie has a good night in the hospital.
9:21 pm on February 11th, 2014
T & G, thank you for the update on Melanie. Assume she will stay in the hospital tonight and will be going home tomorrow.
They said that the Mantle Great Dane is the first to win in the class. The difference between Mantle and Harlequin is that Mantle is mostly black, with a black blanket and white chest. Harlequin is predominately white with black spots and markings.
9:22 pm on February 11th, 2014
Newf!…Oh, I so hope the Newfandland wins it in honor of Melanie and Riverbear….sniff!
9:29 pm on February 11th, 2014
It is surprising that as popular as Goldens and Labs are, I don’t believe they have ever won Best of Show at Westminster.
9:34 pm on February 11th, 2014
Bo and Sunny are very happy right now. Snicker
9:37 pm on February 11th, 2014
Portuguese Water Dog in the working group….political?
9:38 pm on February 11th, 2014
Grump!
9:58 pm on February 11th, 2014
HOH, where else would you place them? They are not really a water retriever. They help the fishermen pull in the nets, right?
10:22 pm on February 11th, 2014
We meant that the Pres… and family have a Poturguese water dog and most folks never heard of one before…. Still, all in all, Mom loves all of the nation with in.
10:26 pm on February 11th, 2014
I think the Fox Terrier – we used to call them Wire Hair Fox Terriers, have been big winners at Westminster. Barb had a Welsh Terrier, 2 Airedales, and she bought her mom a Westie. She always loved the terriers.
10:27 pm on February 11th, 2014
And a good thing too. Going night night now. Pawrayers to Melanie.
10:28 pm on February 11th, 2014
OK, HOH, who do you think is going to win it all?
10:37 pm on February 11th, 2014
We would love to see the Cardi or the MinPin get it, but think it will be the Bloodhound.
10:58 pm on February 11th, 2014
Sky!….The gorgeous Wire Fox Terrier wins it all…heh!heh!
11:00 pm on February 11th, 2014
Whitey!…Now if I can just stay up long enough to see Sean White take the Half-Pipe, I will be a happy pug…snorkel!
11:02 pm on February 11th, 2014
So many beautiful dogs! Must be hard to choose. Night all.
12:09 am on February 12th, 2014
We are going to bed now too. I saw a post from AJ on Facebookie. Garcia is not feeling to well right now. I bet he is under the quilt with Melanie, Tenzing, Dima and everyone else under there. Stay warm and comfy youse all.

Ha! I figured out how to post a link on the new machine. What a surprise…if it works
