Wellesley Booksmith
Tonight at 7: Spencer Quinn at Wellesley Booksmith, 82 Central St., Wellesley, MA.
“Going to tell the one-review story?” says Admin.
“Possibly,” says Spence.
“How about the second-best thing that ever happened in your career?”
“Maybe.”
“And the very best?”
“Only by request.”
“Sounds like, uh, fun.”
Welcome Roxy.

Good morning, Chet and Spence and Admin!
Mom is working from home today, so she is letting us post! We totally missed everyone all day yesterday. Mom dashed out to the barn as soon as she got home from work (and fed us of course), and she worked on her riding ring, and then rode Annie til way after dark. So then after finally eating her dinner, she crashed. This morning, we reviewed yesterday’s blog and we see that our great buddy Siber got skunked!!! How terrible for you, Siber! The only thing worse than that rotten skunk smell is that perfumy crap that the groomers use to try to disguise it. We are hoping your “spa” was smarter than that. What did they use? Did your mom let you sleep indoors last night? Siber, you know that skunks spray that smell, not to offend us, but to hurt us. That spray can blind you. We sibes are too smart for them tho, huh? We always turn our face at just the right time!
We are so curious about all of Spencer’s stories … “one-review”, “second-best thing”, “best thing”…wish he was coming to Pennsylvania so he could tell us those stories.
9:13 am on September 14th, 2011
Oh! and we were hoping that Siber noticed yesterday’s new friends Sam and Sadie. Woo-Hoo more Sibes it looks like!!! We are wishing they would speak up on this blog.
9:18 am on September 14th, 2011
Good morning Oley. Sounds like your Mom had a nice day yesterday. Working a horse can help melt away the stress.
Melanie, We have something funny to tell you. Remember when you said you planted Pink Honeysuckle by the wall? Then Barb posted that it wan’t honeysuckle that she sent to you, it was Pink Hollyhocks. Well guess what, she was looking thru her seed box to find some lettuce seed this morning, and she came across a baggy with some leftover seeds in it. She had written on the lable “Pink Honeysuckle” No wonder you had it wrong – IT WAS TOTALLY BARB’S FAULT!

Melanie, please put Molly and me on the list for the signed picture. Just one pic for the two of us – we share.
9:24 am on September 14th, 2011
Good morning Barb & Maggie…”working” is a term we would use loosely for Annie. She is a lazy horse, but she and Mom are BFFs.
Good morning Sam!
9:27 am on September 14th, 2011
Good Morning OH:
I noticed those Sibers…Just beautiful! The blog needs more Sibes.
Rebecca: How could Belle Starr be a terror. She is just such a cutie!
Curious about Spence’s stories as well. Too bad he won’t be here in Westchester.
Top of the Morning to All:
9:28 am on September 14th, 2011
Siber, we are anxious to hear all about your spa adventure. And mom wants to know what he groomed used and whether or not it worked.
Just in case.
9:31 am on September 14th, 2011
And our mom wants to know if Siber-H’s mom has a headache from breathing in your various smells all night! heh heh
Good morning Rose and Wolfie
9:33 am on September 14th, 2011
Pictures! We want to see puppy pictures, Belle!
It brings back some good memories of the last litter on the blog. Gracie had 12 Newfie puppies a year ago June. Omg, they were adorable!
9:37 am on September 14th, 2011
Spencer!… Darn his pointy head for keeping us in the dark!…sniff!…Lets speculate on what the first and second best things in his career are…grunt!… I bet Chet was the best thing that ever happened to him…heh!
9:47 am on September 14th, 2011
Belle!…My friend says we are going to smuggle Belle Starr home with us after our trip North To Alaska!…heh!….I bet she is the same size as I am. I could give her some tips on terrorizing Kats…grunt!
10:01 am on September 14th, 2011
We are positive that 2nd-best thing would be all of us Plunderers.
10:02 am on September 14th, 2011
It seems Spence doesn’t like to venture far from home for book tours, so how about this suggestion – the Buffalo Niagara Falls region. Go into New York State, pick up the I-90, and it’s a straight run west. You would not only draw from Buffalo and Niagara Falls, but from Canada too since we’re on the border. Isn’t this a good idea?
10:10 am on September 14th, 2011
Tour!… Hey, he could take I-80 across the country to my house….snort!… We went all the way to Iowa on that damned highway. I betcha it goes to Cape Cod and beyond. …sniff!
10:12 am on September 14th, 2011
Olley!…I’m pretty sure, almost 100 percent, that the second best thing is ME!…heh!….Although, it might be the Quilt by a smidgeon….
10:13 am on September 14th, 2011
Well, Molly has a good idea. Why not just keep going to the midwest? Barb would travel to Chicago if he came this far.
Barb is meeting friends for lunch today, for a combined b-day meal. They are meeting at the Yellow Creek Inn. Hope yellow creek isn’t like yellow snow!
10:17 am on September 14th, 2011
SiberH: How did your day at the spa go? Skunky or not, you are still my sweetie!
10:18 am on September 14th, 2011
Morning All! I’ll get a list up soon and post it.
I’m taking the day off today. Whew . .
10:19 am on September 14th, 2011
Award!…He did win that Edgar – so that might be up there in his top two…heh! ….I’d like to see his Top Ten list one day before the world ends….grunt!
10:27 am on September 14th, 2011
“If you go where huskies go,
don’t you eat that yellow snow”
LOL We love that one!
10:42 am on September 14th, 2011
Rio: God help us but there are three more pugs in the world. A person I work with had a pug who had puppies this week. Unbelievably cute but I can’t have more dogs in my life–can I? Surely I can stay strong and resist…
10:43 am on September 14th, 2011
Hellllooooo from the beach. We have to holler real loud here as the connection is kind of hit and miss. Hope you can hear us.
Mama is wearing the funniest expression. We think it is called “blissed out” ( boy, dud the ipaw hate THAT one!) It is sunny and warm, the air smells of salt water and she has been sitting on the front porch ALL MORNING with her coffee and a cinnamon French toast bagle (it’s a regional specialty they look forward to every year)
They promised us a walk on the beach later. We will let you know if we find anything interesting this year but we think it would be hard to top Gilly’s blue lobster of last year.

Hope the Wellesley event goes well.
Off to class. Good morning all.
10:54 am on September 14th, 2011
Puppies!… CHarris, you will never be able to resist a Pug Puppy!…heh!…Just give in now and know that you are licked…snort!…My friend says pug puppies are really cute so that prospective owners are blinded to the reality of what they grow into. Then she usually points at me…sniff! huffle!
10:56 am on September 14th, 2011
This is the event Melanie is going to, right?
Well, Melanie, I guess you are going to have to be the one who asks the question of Spence, “What is this best thing that ever happened to you in your career?”
Or, you could take Franklin along to ask the question.
If this isn’t the event that Melanie is going to then I am all full of carpola.
11:16 am on September 14th, 2011
I am going to try to answer all your questions that you asked about getting skunked.
First, Rio asked me where I sleep. I sleep lots of different places. Somtimes I sleep on the floor right beside mom in the bed. I have a regular big dog bed in the living room for relaxing on when mom is out there and we are watching the Rockies games or Alaska State Troopers or whatever. Weather permitting for the humans I will sleep by the front door when it is open. If is warm enough outside that door is always open 24/7. Mom is a fresh air person. There is a steel security door there, but it lets in tons of fresh air. I love it. You guys have seen a photo of me doing that. I never get on or sleep on the furniture. My folks could care less if I got on the futniture or in bed, but I don’t.
I would sleep outside some at night, but mom won’t let me. I do like to nap outside some during the daylight hours in one of my holes.
I’ll be back later to answer your questions about getting skunked.
11:24 am on September 14th, 2011
Holes!…I had a feeling he slept in those holes of his…heh!
11:40 am on September 14th, 2011
Well, of course he sleeps in holes! What did you think we dig holes for?
We sleep pretty much the same way Siber, except for some reason, Dima gets to lay on the couch while watching t.v.
11:41 am on September 14th, 2011
I suppose if it is that hot out a hole is nice. I prefer to nap in front of the air conditioner.
Melanie, ask him the question!
Off to start packing for the great Treadle On Gathering and Academy. YaaaHOoooOooooooo
11:59 am on September 14th, 2011
Clarkson!….snort!…And Melanie will not be meeting up with Spencer and Company till Oct. 1st….grunt!… She said he will be somewhere only 2 hours away from them…sniff! ….We better all remind her to ask the question about first and second best things…heh!
12:36 pm on September 14th, 2011
and the one-review story too!
1:05 pm on September 14th, 2011
I was way off about when Melanie is going to meet Spence. I’m glad Rio remembered.
Mom doesn’t know what de-skunking product the groomers used on me, but it worked very well. I don’t really smell skunky now. They keep improving the commercial ones. They are better than the old fashioned methods.
Mom’s modern method for getting a dog de-skunked is to call grooming shops. She has had to do it herself enough in her life that she will pay someone else to do it now. It is not the smell she minds. It is the time and the mess and the dirty towels and so forth. If you live in an area where there are skunks, grooming shops are used to these phone calls.
My folks honestly don’t mind the smell that much. They are so used to it and humans must be able to develop a tolerance for it. Most of our animal control has. They have one guy working for them that is a big pansy, but that is a story for another time.
I got skunked around 5:45 am so there wasn’t a question of where I would sleep. Mom says if had happened in the evening she probably would have slept outside with me. Mom’s experience is that skunking is most likely to happen before dawn.
Mom did bring me in the house after I got skunked to keep me out of further trouble. She has brought dogs into the house before that have been skunked and before she could get them de-skunked.
From experience, she knows the smell goes away in a few days. I mean, no, you wouldn’t want to have a dinner party that very evening.
Mom is now going to try an experinment of taking me out on a leash when it is dark, That will work fine before bedtime but she doesn’t know about early morning. I like to go outside and wait while she gets ready to go to the dog park. Sigh, I’ll keep you posted because now it is going to be both the flashlight and the leash.
1:22 pm on September 14th, 2011
Siber, Sasha has a great story about skunked. About 7 years ago, we had a little family reunion here…not near what we are expecting on 9/24. Her sister came all the way down from Boston-area to stay for the weekend. The night before the reunion, Sasha and her “husband” Misha chased a skunk under Mom’s sister’s car !
The smell made its way into our “beezeway” which back in those days was very much not a breezeway as it did not have windows that opened. So the entrance to our house stand next day for the reunion. But much worse was that Mom’s sister’s care really stank all the way home to Boston!
1:23 pm on September 14th, 2011
O.K. that was stank…not stand.
and car not care
1:26 pm on September 14th, 2011
You are not full of carpola, Siber-H, you just forgot.
Now if I can still remember what to ask by Oct. 1st . . .
When we lived in a sailing town above Boston, there were more skunks than dogs! And they had a lot of dogs.
We had decided to move out here where we are now and were having an open house. The night before Clara (my Christmas rescue with very large ears) got skunked the day before! Boy, did the house smell.
Did she learn? No. She and Bear got a skunk in Maine when Dan and Zoë were up there in a 5th wheel. That was smelly.
And then when we moved here, Clara got a porcupine. Sort of. Maybe it’s not that they don’t learn, they just want to get even?
1:45 pm on September 14th, 2011
Porcupine!….I got a sticker in my paw once….sniff!….Does that count?….snort!
1:51 pm on September 14th, 2011
After reading your stories, I just pointed out to mom that she and dad are fortunate to not have a dog skunked when there were going to be other people around. What the dog’s family can tolerate is one thing, but other people…maybe not so much.
1:54 pm on September 14th, 2011
Yes Rio That counts. Mom says she could de-skunk you easily. It wouldn’t be like Newf or Husky hair. Audrey and Wookie wouldn’t be so easy either.
2:02 pm on September 14th, 2011
SiberH: Are you perfumey, or are you back to your natural musk?
2:14 pm on September 14th, 2011
Rose, I was rather pefumey yesterday, but it is fading fast, thank dog.
I will need my Fellow Sibers to back me up on this, but Sibers don’t really have much doggie odor.
2:20 pm on September 14th, 2011
Gus and BB’s mom, didn’t Spence talk about the best thing when we saw him? I think it had something to do with children. I can’t believe that I forgot anything he said. Drat.
ml
2:34 pm on September 14th, 2011
Siber-H, Mom says that you are correct about Sibes not having doggie odor. She says that lack of odor, and the fact that we don’t drool, are our 2 best traits.
But we think we each of us do have our own very delightful
odorscent. Thats why we sniff each other’s butts constantly. All that being said, Sasha actually does have a bad odor these days…old dog odor. Mom is thinking that she may need to get her groomed and defurminated before the family reunion. But not sure if that is good to do to poor old Sash. Sasha thinks it is definitely not a good thing to stress her at this point.
2:41 pm on September 14th, 2011
SiberL Thank you for your explanation. All we can remember about skunk encounters is somewhere back in our memory banks. A family dog from long ago with paws over over face trying in vain to get rid of the spray. It is interesting that the odor goes away on its own after a few days.
2:52 pm on September 14th, 2011
Odor!….Her mother insisted that I have a bath before we went on that I-80 trip to get rid of the smell…grunt!… She should have known from experience that that was only half the battle…heh!
3:02 pm on September 14th, 2011
Mom just talked to the printer. They are waiting for the proofs, once the proofs are approved, the actual printing process should go quickly. Mom was nice; she did not mention that 13 days ago, she was told that the entire process should take one week.
Grump.
3:04 pm on September 14th, 2011
Masquers, I meant that the odor in the house goes away in a few days. Mom figures it must stay much longer on a dog.
That is the classic when you think of a dog getting sprayed…the paws over the eyes in misery. Mom has never experienced that with a dog getting skunked. It might be true what my Fellow Sibers said earlier…that we turn our heads. I’m not telling.
Howlers, Tell your mom that my mom symphatizes with not knowing what is best when it comes to grooming an older dog. Will the fact that they will feel so much better after being groomed make up for the stress of getting groomed? Do they even feel better after being groomed or is that just the way humans think and feel? It is a hard one.
There is also a point where mom will stop vaccinating an older dog because she feels it is too hard on them and that they have enough immunity for the rest of their lives.
3:09 pm on September 14th, 2011
Masquers, the smell on the dogs definitely do not fade. Siber’s mom is lucky in one respect…not much rain. Because every time we get wet, it brings that skunky smell back up to the surface (at least that is what she says).
Siber, our mom agrees with your mom on the vaccination. Our vet tries to get older dogs in for checkups (“Senior Exams”) more often…Mom thinks its better not to even take an old dog like Sasha in there. She is doing quite well without all that fuss.
But she really does stink now…and she just started shedding a couple of weeks ago and is a mess. Perhaps Mom & Pop will try their hand at bathing her themselves this weekend and see if that makes much of a difference.
3:34 pm on September 14th, 2011
Wolfie: It always seems to take longer and cost more. I don’t know why that is. Then too, it may have gotten put on the back burner until she called and reminded them of their promise. Now that she has stoked the fire they are actually moving forward with the order. No worries. We can wait a while longer. Very happy here to have you handling this for all of us.
3:38 pm on September 14th, 2011
Just got back from lunch and checked our mail box. No Cookbooks! Bummer. Grump. Double grump.

O.HOwlers & Siber-H; You Sibers are the brave ones. Good to have around the homestead. Protection Extraordinaire.

Barb&Magpie: Have you checked on those goats lately?
4:30 pm on September 14th, 2011
We don’t know about getting skunked but Gilly just got seagulled on our walk on the beach. Some idiot (Mama’s words) was throwing popcorn in the air all around where people were. Well, what goes in has to cone out, ad they say. Gilly didn’t mind all that much. She thought it was a new kind of perfume. But Mama marched right over to the idiot and asked to use her towel to clean Gilly’s back.
I on the other hand stayed as pristinely beautiful as ever.
4:38 pm on September 14th, 2011
Ha Ha Ha ! We are laughing about Gilly and the seagull here ! Glad you managed to stay clear, Tupper! Your mama is a formidable woman, isn’t she? We are thinking that idiot used a couple of her towels to clean Gilly off! LOL !
While we are in limbo on our hopes of adopting “Duke” a.k.a. “Ammo”, we are wondering what some of you suggest for his name should he join our pack. And then we realized we don’t even know the name of our Sibe buddy here on the blog…
4:49 pm on September 14th, 2011
Hello to T&G On The beach!!! Beware of the seagulls!
Fellow Siberians, My other name is Caleb. I came from Husky Rescue with that name and mom didn’t change it. She doesn’t think it really fits a Siber, but the dog she had before me, the Border Collie, was named Caleb. She named him that when he was 6 weeks old. So, she kept my name because she figured it was meant to be. My folks adjusted quickly to having another Caleb, but it caused some confusion in the computers at the vet clinic.
4:56 pm on September 14th, 2011
The rest of the story is: Caleb, the Border Collie, had a very serious case of seizure disorder. I have seizure disorder also, but it isn’t very bad. Mom knew that when she adopted me. You can see why mom thought it was all meant to be.
4:59 pm on September 14th, 2011
I’m off to the vet now to get my yearly heartworm test and three year booster vaccine. I’m nuts. I like to go to the vet.

5:06 pm on September 14th, 2011
Siber aka Caleb: we definitely think your mom did right to 1) adopt you and 2) keep your name as Caleb.
This was definitely meant to be.
As for heartworm test…we scream about that! We hate getting that alcohol rubbed on our leg. Mom says that isn’t even the test, but well, thats what we hate.

Gilly!…Got Gulled!…heh!snort!
Spencer!…Hey check out the latest photo of Spencer over there on that facebookie thing…grunt! ….They all look like they have been guzzling wine!…heh!

Here is what Spencer had to say on FB about tonight’s book signing:
“Free champagne? Not something you often see at book signings, and this will be no exception.”
Pretty funny !

Yet another place to be wary of.

5:44 pm on September 14th, 2011
Did anyone watch the new series The Ringer last night? I’m wondering if it’s any good. (I can get it On Demand I think.)
I’m exhausted. I think my brother and SIL may be dropping by since they are flying in tonight. I haven’t finished Dog Who yet.
5:59 pm on September 14th, 2011
Stover!…We are no where near finished…grunt!
6:01 pm on September 14th, 2011
Rio: I’m on chapter 30.
6:05 pm on September 14th, 2011
Macy, I thought you said you had marauding monkeys out there in Texas?
Tree Climbing Goats? scary . . .
6:06 pm on September 14th, 2011
Our goats are all safely confined behind the climb-proof horse fencing, so we do not think they got our cookbooks. Barb was so bummed out when they were not here today.
Melanie, did you see our note sbout mixing up the honeysuckle and hollyhocks? She cannot believe she did that! They are not even close!
Wonder what Spence is signing on the book!
6:23 pm on September 14th, 2011
CHarris: Say yes to the pug! Resistence is futile. I wonder if AJ would noticed if I slipped a pugpy into the mix?
6:38 pm on September 14th, 2011
Barb&Magpie: Oooooh us too! Please Spence sign what we requested. (whispering) I wonder how long it will be before we get our books.
Macy: Whoa! These goats are getting out of hand. Taking lessons from the monkeys I see.
B & Rio: Just finished a very scary part in the book. Now on chapter 22, which everyone says is the best. We are TRYING to make it last!
B, Have not seen The Ringer. We don’t get regular tv because of poor reception and Nana is too cheap to pay for cable. Anything current we watch online or, in the case of HBO and such, wait for it to come out on dvd or streaming video.
7:22 pm on September 14th, 2011
Bear, We got a new movie from Netflix, Jumping the Broom. Will let you know how it is. The one we watched a couple of nights ago, Storm in Summer, was OK. It was an 11 year old Hallmark special if that gives you an idea. Goood, heartwarming, but a little dated and hookie at times (although Barb usually loves Hallmark Specials). Let’s keep our fingers crossed on the signing!
7:41 pm on September 14th, 2011
Cold!…It’s damned cold outside…grunt!….She says we will be walking at 6:00 come hell or high water….wheeze!…My Coat Of Many Colors has been lost. I think it got sold at the yard sale but she is still looking for it…heh!
7:53 pm on September 14th, 2011
Rio: That coat would fit in with the race team—in fact, you’d be the best dressed dog on the line! I bought used dog coats and repaired them for the race. Patches here and there, everywhere! Snowhook won’t win any best dressed competitions—that’s okay, we’re hoping to get by on personality. 🙂
7:58 pm on September 14th, 2011
Rio: Love the coat of many colors! Was that a project of your friends?
SiberH: When I used the “musk” I did not mean to imply you had an odor. Just wondering if you were back to your usual self.
Oh, and I love the name Caleb. I think that was a nice tribute by your mom to keep the name in the family.
Gilly: I was once pooped on my nose by a pigeon…dirty birds!
Miss Macy: Funny photo!
I finished TDW last night. Loved it! Since I do not want to throw out any spoilers, I will wait until everyone is finished to speculate on something/someone in the story.
8:05 pm on September 14th, 2011
Hey, y’all! Mom and I just got caught up on two days of the blog. Mom had to go to an e-book demonstration after work last night, and she was at a children’s book conference all day today, so she hasn’t been around to read stuff.
T&G: The very first time my family visited Charleston, they stopped at a sandwich shoppe 🙂 to get lunch. The guy behind the counter asked my girl if she wanted double meat. Not knowing that it cost more, she said yes. They took their sandwiches down to the harbor to eat, and my girl laid her sandwich next to her while she was taking a drink. A seagull swooped down and grabbed her expensive, double-meat sandwich! If you think some popcorn left a fine mess, I’d hate to see what that sandwich produced!
8:12 pm on September 14th, 2011
T & G, Hope your Mama and Dad are having a great and relaxing time on the beach. Have they had any lobster yet? Stay away from the seagulls – they are icky pooh! They eat a lot of fishy things, so their poop smells much worse than chicken poop, of which I am an expert!
8:21 pm on September 14th, 2011
Husky Hugs to Rose!
I know you weren’t implying that I stunk. (well, I still do a little bit). I was really wanting to know if my Fellow Sibers thought the same thing about us not having doggie odor.
The temperature has dropped here! I hope some of this cold front has headed in Miss Macy’s direction.
Rio will need a coat this evening. I hope they found the coat of many colors because it looks outstanding on him.
8:23 pm on September 14th, 2011
Barb and MagPie, It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one who has gremlins that change what I write. Honeysuckle, indeed! Also, the steamed fresh Kentucky Pole Beans with butter added made a great hit here in the house.
Riö? That’s a coat? It’s pretty cool. Looks like a jigsaw puzzle.
Pool News . . . AFter Franklin became “The Man” because he could go in and out of the Pool without Zoë Mac listened and watched us praise him. Today Mac went into the Pool all by his lonesome and wouldn’t come out until we noticed him and praised him!
Such nuts. Oh, and Bella? The Pack is very jealous of the moose bones.
Gilly, I believe it is good luck to have that happen to you!

Coat!… Rebecca, I will make sure my friend packs my Coat of Many Colors for the trip…heh! …I definitely won’t get lost in the snow like Whitey did…snort!

Rio – I think you should root for the Yankees next. Rose and I would like that.
9:41 pm on September 14th, 2011
Lost? Whitey-Lance knew where he was the whole time. He just misplaced his musher for a few days.
Rio: Are you stowing away north to Alaska? Belle Starr wonders if she were to get smuggled by you would it be puggled?
9:48 pm on September 14th, 2011
Molly!…heh!snort!heh!…You’re so funny…snorkel!
9:53 pm on September 14th, 2011
Alaska!…I’m definitely under the impression that I am going along with my friend…grunt!…No one has said anything to the contrary to me…huffle!
10:17 pm on September 14th, 2011
Gulled!….heh!snort!…I was sitting here thinking about ole Gilly getting pooped on today…heh!…I bet she smells worse than SiberH does right now….chorkel!

Finally!
I have a computer again. Now if I could get some time off work! I would love to be where Tupper and Gilly are. Speaking of them I got a wonderful postcard from the Cape. Way cool. Thanks T&G and Spence!
Staff: Thanks for posting my address on Dishlickers so Wookie could send me the cookbook. I sent a check today. I must say that the USPS seems to be way more on the ball than their Canadian counterparts…except for Barb and Maggie’s package.
Melanie: Thanks for that Linda Ronstadt song the other day. I love her.
OleyHowlers: White Wings did get to you in less time than the priority mail packages took to get to me. So far my theory holds true. Don’t send priority mail to (or from) Canada. It was a bit scary not to be able to track it though. What if it was lost!?
Snowhook Bella: Congratulations on the two new additions to your team. Be careful of feeding little Rio the Good extra portions. You have seen the latest pictures of his namesake, haven’t you?
Siber H: Skunked again!? If you hadn’t sent that skunk to his final reward I would wonder if you weren’t a willing participant.
10:27 pm on September 14th, 2011
Rio- Gilly says that she does NOT smell. But I think she is a little gull-ible.
Ha ha. Get it? I said she was GULL- ible. Cuz she got pooped on by a gull. That’s pretty funny, right?
Laugh, or I’ll bite you in the butt.

A de-skunking product should work on a Corgi that got gulled.
Mom once had a chicken s**t upon a dog’s head. The dog was chasing the chicken, the chicken flew up in the air, and splat on the dog’s head.
Mom says that was worse than skunk smell. I wouldn’t know. Mom won’t let me near a chicken.
10:29 pm on September 14th, 2011
Rocky!… Only a squirrel would herd his goats up a tree…snort!…That crazy guy. I wonder how his Eco-Goat business is doing these days…chorkel!

T&G I’m setting here laughing out loud.
WELCOME back Dawson!!!
10:32 pm on September 14th, 2011
Tupper: Ha ha ha ha ha! That is very funny! Golly, sorry Gilly.
10:35 pm on September 14th, 2011
Finally!…There is someone to talk to out here…grunt!… Dawson, first off, that photo of me in my Coat of Many Colors was taken way back last summer before her and I started our Brutal Walk Program…snort!… Second off, Gilly has got to smell. Bird poop stinks to high-heaven….sniff!…Just ask Barb. I bet its worse than chicken poop!…heh!

T&G, ya kill me, seriously.
Mom would love to have the instructions for the coat of many colors. She can crochet, but never has made anything that did not go on a bed or a table. I am not flat, so….:D

Rio: Detroit Tigers are in first place in their division. Just sayin’.
10:43 pm on September 14th, 2011
All this talk of being gulled and skunk reminds me of a kennel theory about misdeeds…maybe there is a short story there. If there is a short story there, it will have to wait because I’m still at work.
Macy: You may not be flat, but like most tables you have four legs!
T&G: Laughing here and it’s not because the threat against our hind quarters.
10:45 pm on September 14th, 2011
Oh!
By the way Rio, I’m glad you survived your adventure in Iowa. That pig was amazing!
10:50 pm on September 14th, 2011
You guys are cracking me up.
I gave my brother a copy of the cookbook and I explained who everyone is. He loved the pictures and the recipes.
10:53 pm on September 14th, 2011
Miz Macy – now, why would you want to cover up that sweet little ole petite body with a tablecloth? You jest tell your Ma to crochet the tiniest little seat cover outta the softest yarn she can find and that will suit your basic black right fine. Or she can jest ship you off to old Redbone. I’d be right proud to keep you snuggly warm.
Miz Gilly – doncha let them all pull your little leg. Poor little gal, bein humiliated like that in public, then havin folks laugh. You fit out there tomorrow and herd the stuffin outta them gulls
Rio – son, are you SURE you want to go to Alaska?? Did anyone mention to you that it gits right cold up yonder? You may want to git you a snowsuit of many colors!
10:54 pm on September 14th, 2011
Tupper, that was a way cool joke! Gull – ible. I get it!
Barb says we are reading a chapter and then going to bed. She has to go to the CLL tomorrow, unless we can get blurred over by you.
10:55 pm on September 14th, 2011
MacyMinPin: Maybe your mom could crochet a
doilyhat for Rio’s head. It is flat. I’m worried about him freezing in Alaska.10:56 pm on September 14th, 2011
Coat!… My friend did not make my coat…snort!…It was made by her friend out on the farm. It’s more like a cape with a place for my head to fit through…heh!
11:05 pm on September 14th, 2011
The Rockies might win this one.
We are falling asleep. This first true cool air of the season is lovely.

Hey Rio: Did you give your climbing rose bush away?
C.Harris: You’ve already had a frost? I’d better start thinking of cleaning up the yard for winter. It could happen any day. You are thinking of getting pugged! Oh my.
11:18 pm on September 14th, 2011
Roses!… Yup!…snort!…Not that it was appreciated, but she gave it away anyways….grunt! …Her sister said, “Oh, I used to do this in grade-school.”….uh-huh…
11:21 pm on September 14th, 2011
Rockies!…They should have put all the youngsters and new guys in the game way back in June…heh!
11:23 pm on September 14th, 2011
Bed!… We are going upstairs to our beds…snort!… Too tired to watch the game anymore…yawn!snuffle!… I wonder who will be targeted for doo-doo tomorrow….heh!
11:35 pm on September 14th, 2011
Me too! Good night.
I’m sorry Rio’s roses got under appreciated. They are magnificent.
11:35 pm on September 14th, 2011
Speaking of blurring, where is Mr. Wigglebutt?
Heading home—all youse will be tucked in for the night by the time I get home. Good night.

Let’s see. A piece under the belly from one side to the other, fastened with a button, and voila, the cape becomes a snuggly coat. *hat optional
