That is awful. People should not leave their “blunts” lying around. (I had to look that up: A blunt is a cigar hollowed out and filled with cannabis.)

    Good morning all.

If people would treat their “grass” like they do their medications, the members of the nation within would be far safer.
    Race news to follow.

So…poking my head out of my cave for a minute. Been quite busy, with a lot of life changes. In roughly chronological order:

    1. Got engaged last February. No worries, it’s OK with Melanie, although I admit I didn’t expect to meet someone and get engaged quite that quickly.

    2. Got a job with this little fruit company. Which meant planning a move to Austin. Very quickly. Literally, I got the job offer, and was expected to start six weeks later. So we hurriedly fixed up as much of the house as we could do quickly and relatively inexpensively, put it on the market, and Hilde and I went to Austin. Angie stayed back with the rest of the critters to organize the move and the house sale.

    3. Didn’t sell the house after all. Our realtor was…well…we weren’t happy…and we only got one (ridiculous) offer. So, with that, combined with Angie needing to get an ovary removed, and … somewhat contentious … conditions living with my mom and stepfather, I started working on coming back to PA. Alena elected to stay back to finish the school year, which I understand but am not exceedingly happy about. Fortunately for me, little fruit company decided I could keep my job with them and work from home. Which makes me happy.

    4. Abigail, one of the cats, crossed over. Remember that ever since Melanie took a serious decline, Abigail wasn’t really herself. She rallied for a while, but then declined again. Turns out she had a huge mass under her tongue, probably cancerous. Explains why she didn’t want to eat and had no energy. Angie took her for her final trip…I wasn’t home yet.

    5. Came back to Erie. It’s very cold.

    6. Getting married on July 20th, a great day for lunatics.

We still have a garage full of crap.

And I have far less free time.

But miss all of y’all anyway.

Nice to hear from you, Buddy! It has been a long time. We were just talking about you the other day because one of our blog family is losing her eyesight and was having trouble reading the blog.

Ro: I did convey your invite to Sadie to go live with you. I wasn’t sure she’d remember your visit up north but then I saw her wagging tail start drooping. I am guessing she was remembering how you stole her toys, food and bed. So while the attraction of not living with cats had some appeal, it wasn’t enough for her to pack her bags. Sadie does remember Friend was a good petter and hopes she is not too disappointed in her declining the invite. Maybe Friend can come north again someday. You can stay home, plow a path in the snow and make sure the plants are watered. Heh

Thanks HOH. Last year Dee Dee Jonrowe retired after 36 Iditarods (11 top 10 finishes). She is covering the race for one of the local stations from an insider’s perspective.

Thanks for the welcome, always good to come home and such.
The Mac has built-in screen reading software called Voiceover. Windows has free screen reading software too…built in is Narrator, and it’s getting better…but NVDA is a more capable screen reader. But I’d recommend using a better voice than it comes with. Chromebooks also have a screen reader built in. Point your friend at me and I’ll help as much as I can. Understand that all of these things will definitely have a learning curve. My email is in the plunderer directory. I think my phone is, too.
