We Have No Problem With Ben, But
How snoopish is this country willing to get?

I don’t know, I guess there are times when someone would want to use Ben’s services and not get the police involved. Never were faced with those decisions, thank Dog.
Hope everyone under the Quilt is feeling better this morning.
Beautiful day here. Have a lot going on the next few days. Work, wonderfluffing for Barb, requests for babysitting tomorrow evening, letting Fred out Friday p.m. and Saturday a.m. And then a horse show for Lily and Pedal in the Park event on Saturday.
9:20 am on June 5th, 2014
While we have never needed these particular services, we can see the benefit.
In this war on drugs, the drugs and the drug addicts are winning. Trust me.
9:22 am on June 5th, 2014
Good morning Wolfie.
Everyone have a pleasant day. Off to work now. BBML.
10:00 am on June 5th, 2014
One of my kind! Another Belgian Malinois reporting for Duty.
And, Look. There’s me & TYB up top.
Good Morning: Wolfie, Barb&Magpie & All.

Hi, guys!!!
Anyone watching the “24” series that’s on now? Mom is finally watching the episodes. She’s still behind by a couple of weeks but…WOW! Just like it never went off the air.
10:24 am on June 5th, 2014
Good morning, family.
Another crazy day around here. After spending all last week running brother to tests and appointments, we thought today would be a day “off” before the show this weekend.
Now Gramp has informed us that he has an appointment in a town 45 minutes away. And he was just sure he told us about it.
GAH!
Mama needs to work on her blurring skills so she can go far far away.
10:26 am on June 5th, 2014
Looks like our avatar has perfected it’s blurring skill
10:27 am on June 5th, 2014
Good morning all.

Bee – did you know who Don Zimmer (today’s RIP) was?
10:55 am on June 5th, 2014
Hello Everyone–I can see where that service might be interesting and of use. I can also think of at least one scenario where it could easily be abused, so kind of on the fence…
I have a Thursday off and plan to use it productively (although that’s how I plan to use every day and it doesn’t always turn out that way). Everyone have a wonderful, safe day.
T and G–Tell your Mama that if gets to be too much she can blur over here and just park by the pool.
BSD and others–Where are you seeing these other dogs? I see no Belgian Malinois–should I be looking elsewhere, or is this something on FB?
Everyone have a wonderful, safe day.

T&G, Don Zimmer was a Major League Baseball player, coach, and advisor.
He is considered one of the icons of baseball.
10:56 am on June 5th, 2014
One more thing–I succumbed to not-quite-peer pressure and read “The Fault in Our stars”–last year’s “Twilight”. Actually, pretty good, although marred by an absence of canine characters.
10:59 am on June 5th, 2014
Hey Diane C, there is a link directly below today’s opening statement, right above the RIP Don Zimmer, that I missed.
Hats off to Don Zimmer.
11:15 am on June 5th, 2014
Wose–Duh! Dopey me! Thank you–this clears up a number of things.
11:29 am on June 5th, 2014
Diane, not dopey at all! Sometimes Chet leaves stories or exciting announcements over there on the right, too!
11:44 am on June 5th, 2014
T&G: Yes but only because there was an article in today’s NYTimes regarding Zimmer.
11:47 am on June 5th, 2014
T&G: Your mama peeked out from under the quilt too soon.
Terry posted photos on facebookie with both Don Zimmer and the Navajo Code Talker.
That family meets some interesting people!
DianeC: We were going to answer your question, but Rose beat us to it.
BooBear: Haven’t seen the “new 24”. I believe the pug is watching it.
12:28 pm on June 5th, 2014
I suppose a parent might hire Ben.
Yes, R.I.P. Don Zimmer
Bear, very cute picture of a Siber and Malamute you posted last night. Love the expression on the Siber’s face. It looks like a girl Siber.
12:37 pm on June 5th, 2014
We ask: is it a sick bird or is it against the law (re: Ben and his work) A personal decision? Glad we went to bed early as boomers began at 3 a.m. and the HOH held down mom and DDD while Blondie kept the basement safe! Here was Blondie’s contribution to the stress

P.S. It wasn’t me. Darah…honest!
12:49 pm on June 5th, 2014
Ben is a good looking dog with a job!
I remember Don Zimmer from way back when.
Summer came back today! Sun shine will soon warm the air and hopefully a slight breeze will send the fragrance of lilacs through the open living room window. I hope.
T&G: Just what you want to do on your day off!
I am going to the doctor about a sore shoulder then I’m taking the rest of the day off.
1:09 pm on June 5th, 2014
Dawson, from what are you taking off the day?
2:06 pm on June 5th, 2014
Siber-H: That Photo yesterday reminded us of the O’Howlers because of the girl Siber and of You too because it was taken at a baseball game.
Dawson: Hurray for a Sunny Day, but NOT for the sore shoulder.
Darah: Blondie brought ALL THAt into the basement?
2:16 pm on June 5th, 2014
(Blondie) The guys were”watching” me and I was a busy baby π
2:23 pm on June 5th, 2014
Siber: Being a diehard baseball fan we knew you would know about Don Zimmer.
Blondie’s in trouble!
2:44 pm on June 5th, 2014
Gramps! We love that guy. He keeps Golinka on her toes.
3:02 pm on June 5th, 2014
HOH–Boomers? At 3 a.m.? Wha? It looks as though Blondie may have been a little overzealous…
3:11 pm on June 5th, 2014
Blondie has a future as a flower arranger.
My “probably arthritis” has turned into “probably tendonitis” after x ray viewing. A cortizone shot is prescribed. That sounds like it will hurt!
I’m off to see my cribbage friends.
3:33 pm on June 5th, 2014
Thieves – one thing Gramp is very good at….keeping Mama on her toes. Right now, she probably has more frequent flyer miles on her tootsies than a member of the Royal Ballet!
Dawson – actually tendonitis is a better diagnosis than arthritis. At least tendonitis can be treated easily with cortisone, and can actually be healed. Arthritis…not so much. ( and the shot doesn’t hurt that much anymore).
Blondie – oh dear. Messy, messy, messy.
3:47 pm on June 5th, 2014
Dawson: Lilacs! We Love Lilacs! They don’t last very long but are heavenly while blooming.
Nana says when she was a girl (many, many, many moons ago) there were 5 lilac bushes in the yard…3 white & 2 lavender…she still remembers the exquisite aroma!
Tupper&Gilly’s prognosis for your shoulder sounds hopeful.
Lol…the sore shoulder won’t interfere with the card game we see.
5:42 pm on June 5th, 2014
This looks promising. If only it tastes as good as it looks.

Here is a little something for Teddy RR and family.
6:08 pm on June 5th, 2014
Golinka: Gramps also races a mean wheelchair. We think he could go pro.
6:25 pm on June 5th, 2014
Macy! That is so, so Cute!
Thieves! Once again, Thanks for the Big Break-Out yesterday.
Youse are the Best.
6:42 pm on June 5th, 2014
Macy, that picture is adorable!
Has anyone seen the show MOTIVE? I just watched the first 3 shows on demand. I liked it very much.
RIO! Will you and your friend be watching that new show “Rising Star”? The watching public gets to see who wins and who loses.
6:51 pm on June 5th, 2014
Blondie better have a future as a well behaved young lady (that’s what mom says).
Love the kosher golden dogs π
DianeC, most of the storms in Chattanooga arrive in the wee hours of the a m if they arrive at all. Frequently they do the “Chattanooga split” and go around this part of the TN valley.
Hope Glinka gets a bit of rest.
Remember: broken pencils are pretty much pointless π
8:17 pm on June 5th, 2014
HOH–Pointless! Groan (giggle). I think Blondie was just trying to make a good impression as a protector; perhaps she can be persuaded to back off a bit (I hope so, for all your sakes).
Some of my students may actually pass…a very strange group this term…
OK trying to stall long enough to think up a joke and…
What do you call a musician who breaks up with his girlfriend?
8:21 pm on June 5th, 2014
Hi, back home. Watching the Drew Peterson movie on LMM. He was on the Chicago news daily for so long. Glad he finally ended up in jail. Rob Lowe does a great job as Drew.
8:22 pm on June 5th, 2014
A broken record? I am not good at this stuff.
8:25 pm on June 5th, 2014
Re: RISING STAR, the viewing public gets to decide who wins or loses. GAH!
8:27 pm on June 5th, 2014
DianeC. Hmmmm? A guy looking for a place to crash?
HOH & POP here…Does this kid ever settle down unless someone takes her to the basement?
(Pookey here) I refuse to ride in the car with her again. She puked all over the backseat of the truck and almost got me. I’d suggest changing her name to Pukey but it is too close to my beautiful moniker.
Hey Macy, want a new blonde roomie?
8:32 pm on June 5th, 2014
Rose: I like Motive. I think this is season 2.
8:41 pm on June 5th, 2014
BSD: Don’t mention it. It seemed to go off without a hitch until it didn’t. I hope they don’t add damages to Wes’ bill. Who leaves a gurney in the hallway and doesn’t expect it to get used in wherlchair race finals before checking out of that hotel?
8:42 pm on June 5th, 2014
B&M, your answer to DianeC. makes as much sense.
8:43 pm on June 5th, 2014
Hey, Pookie, We’ve all done it. That’s what puppies do. Yark in the Backseats of Moving Vehicles (it may be a memory of when she was dumped by the side of the road. sniff)
8:46 pm on June 5th, 2014
HOH and Diane, you guys are cracking me up.
8:50 pm on June 5th, 2014
Before I picked up puppy Mollypop, long ago, the breeder took her for a ride in his van. Of course she threw up. He wanted to get it over with before he gave her to me. That was great because I then drove home with no problems.
8:51 pm on June 5th, 2014
HRH, B: Yikes! Now I’ll have to go back and find season 1.
9:03 pm on June 5th, 2014
Rose & B: Is this the show where the killer is known but the MOTIVE is not?
9:07 pm on June 5th, 2014
Masquers: Yes. At the beginning of each episode you are shown the “victim” and the “killer” but don’t learn the motive until near the end.
9:08 pm on June 5th, 2014
Masquers, Yes that is the show, and I think Lauren Holly stars in it. We like it too.
9:11 pm on June 5th, 2014
Storm!…We are outside ((soon)) waiting for a big storm to hit….sniff!sniff!…I do not think this is a good idea because I can smell the thunder and lightning already…gah!…But my friend is big on sitting outside while it pours….gasp!
9:13 pm on June 5th, 2014
On Columbo didn’t they know who did it in the beginning of the show and then he had to prove it?
9:27 pm on June 5th, 2014
B&M, Bango, you got it. The point was to PROVE who done it.
9:31 pm on June 5th, 2014
Macy. Great photo.
On the subject of yarking or puking, it is very possible that I did that riding back to my forever home after being picked up from my puppy home (it was about an hour and a half car ride). But I was rather young at the time, so my memory may be a bit hazy.
10:11 pm on June 5th, 2014
Teddy Ruff Rider et al. Thanks for reminding mom that sometimes poopies need to adjust to riding in 4 leggers’ vehicles. Tomorrow Blondie is going to try to go fishing with DDD and the Boarder in the Basement on the Ms.Sonja, a wash and wear pontoon boat. Those with more sense will wait for mom to come home from the library then either, 1) Read a book or 2) Go to Dog Park!!!!! Guess what we vote for?
10:17 pm on June 5th, 2014
HRH B Stover: mom wanted us to tell you that there is a NICE restaurant here in Hicksville that on a Fri. the 13th does a wine special that includes one you like (Cahoots, Cahoors, Cajuns?)…just sayin’ , if’n ya ever come here.
10:22 pm on June 5th, 2014
Saying good night. Sweet dreams all.
10:27 pm on June 5th, 2014
Same here, nighty night. Talking puppy on facebookie cracks us up!
10:30 pm on June 5th, 2014
Snack-Time here. After that we’ll be fading fast.
So Nite-tal – Bear
10:55 pm on June 5th, 2014
Went to the cabinet maker today and talked over all the things I want in the quilting room. Heh. We got the estimate and did not faint. Paid half down and now we wait.
I thought I posted earlier but evidently did not hit send. Hmmm? Anyway the surgeon did not seem as worried about the hernia as the nephrologist. He hopes to do the surgery laparoscopically but might not be able to. He will know once he sees the CaT scan which evidently had been hidden by marauding goats. Anyway schedule is for July 7. I will be glad to have this behind me. I think it is going to be a busy summer.
Saw my first Monarch butterfly today.
11:28 pm on June 5th, 2014
Staff, Good to hear the surgeon is taking a more optimistic view.
Your quilting room will be something to look forward to. How big a project will this be time-wise?
11:50 pm on June 5th, 2014
Just catching up before bed. We are happy to report that brother is doing very well. Of course, he is on LOTS of pain meds, but he certainly seems to be enjoying the giraffe show. And his nurse is a very pretty and personable young woman. He is being VERY charming. Heh.
Tomorrow – doctor, groceries, gas, pack van for the show. In other words, our version of a day off. Double heh.
So, goodnight, family.
12:32 am on June 6th, 2014
Good night, John Boy.
12:40 am on June 6th, 2014
GAh, Trying to backup my photos. Also installing/updating antivirus on other computer. This stuff is so boring!
Tupper tell your Mom we are happy that her brother is feeling better and being charming.
Masquers we were told the cabinet maker was busy until the fall so we got right on it and didn’t dawdle. Now we get the impression it might be sooner than that. Nothing said but he is coming out on Monday to measure things up. He said I don’t have to move stuff off the walls for him which makes me grateful. I am changing the lighting too so I might have to alert them if things are moving faster than anticipated.
Nighty noodles all
