We Have A Winner!
Congratulations to Tiffany for her perfect score on yesterday’s pop quiz (part one). If she would please email her mailing addess to spence.quinn@gmail.com her copy of Thereby Hangs A Tail, signed by Spencer Quinn and stamped by Chet will be on its way.
Honorable mention to Lisa Trotter. Is there any reason she shouldn’t have a prize, too? Not that Chet can come up with. So if she too will kindly do the email thing, a signed and stamped copy will be coming her way as well.
Also, according to Admin who has been in contact with the publisher, Thereby Hangs A Tail, based on just on its partial first week, will appear on the New York Times extended fiction list at #25 on Sunday 1/24. Everyone here at chetthedog thanks Chet’s readers very very much.

Wonderful!!
The dogs are wagging their tails!!

Dear Cosmo: I know this may seem a bit scary, but everything will be fine. I had a tumor removed about four years when I was roughly your same age (it was on my side, not my butt). My mom and dad were really upset at first, but the surgeon did an excellent job. The tumor turned out to be bigger than first thought, but the surgeon got it all (something about clean margins, not sure what that means though) and I have been fine ever since. It took me about a dog year (one and one half months in human time) to fully recover, and my mom slept downstairs with me for the first couple of nights because it was hard for me to climb stairs right after the surgery. I also got lots of extra treats — yum! The most important thing though is just to keep a positive attitude, and I know you can do that. Also, all your buddies in the nation within the nation on this blog will be saying extra prayers for you on Monday when you have your surgery. And just remember what dog spelled backwards means — there is a reason for that. Love, Wookie
P.S. My mom and dad are still reading slow, but we are up to Chapter 9 now. Really liked that thing about the steak bits in Babbycake's bowl, sort of what you might call "immaculate consumption," eh Chet?

Immaculate consumption!
heh heh

From LibraryThing.com review
I wish I could find a picture to post of the cover as it is a great picture of Chet's silhouette. I loved this one as much as the first in the series. Chet and Bernie have another adventure while looking for a kidnapped championship dog and her owner. Of course, it alls goes wrong and Chet saves the day again. It is amazing how Quinn brings the dogs and their thoughts to life. I think Quinn's secret identity is really a dog. — review by user MaryinHB
Interesting….maybe that's why Quinn's identity is secret!

Spencer Quinn is a fictitious name used by Chet and Bernie because readers won't believe that Chet really tells the story. Anyone (of any nation within a nation) can tell that the story is straight from a dog's perspective. And we figure that Chet has one of those super computers that receives brain waves to take his thoughts and translate them to the written word. Then magically, we have 2 super great books! How can it be any other way?
PS Hang in there, Cosmo. You'll be just fine!!

Gus and BooBear figured it out!

Congrats to Tiffany and Lisa! Also congrats to Spencer, Chet and Bernie for the NY Times ratings! And thanks so much Chet, Wookie, Siberian Husky, Gus and Boo Bear and all my other pals on this blog in the Nation within the Nation. Between you guys, the neighbors of our kind, and all my facebook friends you've made me feel 100x better. Dad is shopping tonight, so I'll be putting in special requests for all the special treats necessary to speed my recovery. Thanks again……tailwags, Cosmo

From Mac to Cosmo,
Just had a bit of surgery myself. Nothing to it. Was a bit fuzzy like Chet gets around the campfire. The collar thingy had to go. I didn't fit into the car with it.
Get well!

Dear Cosmo,
Just a note to say staff and I are rooting for you all the way. The worst part is thinking about it before hand. Sending lots of tortiseshell colored furry love your way.
