Good morning, everyone! Without all those people, men and women, where would we be?
Have a very pleasant holiday and try to stay toasty.
8:26 am on November 11th, 2013
Looks to us like a bunch of folks who got some sleep while we got mom up at 5:45 š
8:58 am on November 11th, 2013
Well said Admin.
Good morning all.
9:08 am on November 11th, 2013
Thank you Spence and Admin for honoring our Veterans. We appreciate the sacrifices made by all who have served.
Wonder how Amalia did at the dinner last night. We hope she overcame her discomfort and had a nice evening.
And yes, Rio, Barb did watch a movie partially about baseball and enjoyed it. She was more interested in the human aspects of the story and the personality development of Jackie, his wife Rachel and Branch Rickey.
9:09 am on November 11th, 2013
Yes, very well said. Happy Veterans Day to our Pop and T&G’s pop, and Staff and Dawson’s mom and dad, and all of thie others who we can’t remember being named. Thank you to all.
9:21 am on November 11th, 2013
Mom thinks she has discovered the secret of last night/the am’s “barkfest”. Lucy was out talking to the deer and early this morn, I the adorable Darah was snuck up on by the dreaded killer falling leaves. Boy, oh, boy, are those ever scary! I had to protect mom so they didn’t get her in her sleep. Pookey? She just lays by her Daddy Dawg.
9:47 am on November 11th, 2013
We may get a little snow later this morning. First snows are always exciting.
Barb is looking forward to the Saturday morning meeting. She will bring along a little extra cash for the two antlerz she ordered for me, me, me.
10:01 am on November 11th, 2013
We are excited to read the full report, with pictures, of this weekend’s Plunderer meeting.
T&G, tell your mom that our mom got to wear her “wedding” dress again this weekend, to the retirement dinner. She got lots of compliments on it. Mom says THANKS, once again, for the shopping help.
10:32 am on November 11th, 2013
On Veteran’s Day let’s also remember the brave service dogs and their handlers.
10:38 am on November 11th, 2013
Hi Kathy! We agree that our service dogs should also be remembered. They are heroes.
10:56 am on November 11th, 2013
Thanks Spence for remembering our Veterans and Kathy for reminding us of the dogs and handlers who have also served and sacrificed for our country. I will be thanking my Dad personally.
11:03 am on November 11th, 2013
Saluting all the wonderful men, women, dogs and their handlers who have served this wonderful country so well. A special salute to the Plunderers on this blog, and their families who have also served.
I thank you all.
God bless!
11:34 am on November 11th, 2013
What is on our mind?
Our Veterans. May Congress pass them a living wage so they do not have to use food stamps as a way to thank them for their service.
Our Family Veterans.
Capt. Harold G. McKey / USArmy / WWI
Capt. Arnold J. Isbell / USNavy / WWII
Sgt. Martha L. Montague / WAC / WWII
Capt. Hall G. Montague / USArmy / WWII

Thinking of you all, Zoƫ and Melanie.
11:38 am on November 11th, 2013
That as from our facebookie page. We are still recovering our energy from the last few weeks.
We will be doing shallots and wine reduction sauce tonight.
That might be all that we do . .
11:53 am on November 11th, 2013
Melanie, If you want to grow some, you should be able to keep them in the fridge till early spring and then plant them as you would onion sets. Pointy side up, just below the soil surface. If your shallots are still in a clump, you separate them before planting. Each one will product a clump by fall.
12:18 pm on November 11th, 2013
Hmmm . . Save some? We have four shallots. I think we’ll just cook them.
Have order our natural, free range, local turkey. Getting a 12 lb-er.
ZoĆ« knew I was ordering it over the phone. I was talking to the butcher when ZoĆ« came in, and I said, “and that is NOT alive and the feathers off.” snicker
Got two people with a bad joke. Zoƫ was cussing up a storm, and the butcher was sputtering.
Heh, heh, heh. I explained to the butcher I was just bothering my mother.
Unfortunately, she is planning a payback.
12:27 pm on November 11th, 2013
Shallots in wine sauce, HOH mom is on her way! Daddy Dawg & mom will be in Hillsville, VA in the doghouse for Turkey Day. Mom has planned a “portable”, traditional dinner. Correct foods in slightly modified shape/size to be cooked in a 5th wheel trailer:) Never a dull moment. Doing a NO SNOW dance.
1:48 pm on November 11th, 2013
Melanie, We were picturing you with a big bag of shallots, not 4! Forget saving to plant, just enjoy.
We are having a beautiful snow here. Big flakes and lots of them. No wind, so if is very pretty and peaceful looking. Grass is partially white, but it is not sticking on street or sidewalk.
Time for some reading and a nap. Perfect afternoon.
2:21 pm on November 11th, 2013
After posting this a.m., mom noticed the 4 white kitchen chairs and table AND white appliances were an almond color. So far today she has scrubbed kitchen furniture, all kitchen appliances an armoire and 2 nightstands. She looks plum tuckered.
2:23 pm on November 11th, 2013
Lucky Maggie. Mom says we are getting snow tonight. She said it’s a dusting. It’s about time someone does some dusting around here.
2:54 pm on November 11th, 2013
Blessings, thanks, and best wishes to all our veterans and those on active duty in the military. We honor and appreciate you.
3:01 pm on November 11th, 2013
One of our neighbors has acquired one chicken and a chicken coop. Mom got a call to go over and see it. I was not invited.
Mom says the coop would not stop a determined Siber but she doesn’t know about coyotes. They are not as big as us Sibers.
It is a big freakin chicken.
3:05 pm on November 11th, 2013
Today’s GOOGLE DOODLE is a tribute to Veteran’s Day.
Belle Starr, Luna, Pancho , Lefty?
I have been waiting here on the side of the road with my red bandana full of my most worldly possessions tied to the end of a stick, waiting for one of youse to blur me back to the kennel. Since I no longer have a job, I am volunteering my services as a Snowhook official handler. I will play with youse guys, feed youse, and scoop your poop, in return for residence in the little cabin in the woods.
3:13 pm on November 11th, 2013
Siber, Tell your neighbor (or have your mom tell her) that chickens are flock animals. One chicken alone is a very unhappy chicken. If the coop is not too small, maybe she can find a place to buy or adopt one more.
3:21 pm on November 11th, 2013
Ditto to what Barb and Maggie said.
3:26 pm on November 11th, 2013
Barb, Mom doesn’t know anything about chickens but she guessed as much. I think the woman plans on getting more chickens. The one chicken in the coop did not seem to be very happy. It’s a big brown chicken.
3:41 pm on November 11th, 2013
Could be a Rhode Island Red, among many other possibilities. Have your mom take a picture with her smart phone and put it on the blog. Then Oleys mom and Barb can try to figure out what breed it is. snicker
3:58 pm on November 11th, 2013

4:15 pm on November 11th, 2013
CHobbit, please check your SDD!
4:50 pm on November 11th, 2013
It’s snowing…very small flakes.
5:21 pm on November 11th, 2013
We woke up to a foot of fresh snow. Unfortunately, it is a very wet snow so the roads are a sheet of ice. Even though she was supposed to have today off, she had to drive in for a meeting with a client. She slipped and slid the whole way into town. Her meeting is over and she is girding up the strength to make the drive home.
Wose: Once our Lady gets home we will blur over to you. Your little cabin in the woods is ready. Yeep!
5:42 pm on November 11th, 2013
Ate!!!! For the second evening in a row, I ate my full meal. Mom is dancing and singing this song about how Dima is the best boy in the whole wide world!!! I love it when she does that.
5:45 pm on November 11th, 2013
Dima: Who’s a good boy?!? You tell me.
5:51 pm on November 11th, 2013
Apparently I am, Tenz. š
6:25 pm on November 11th, 2013
Dog Heaven=praising them for eating well.
6:37 pm on November 11th, 2013
Pancho & Lefty: I am still at the side of the road.
6:38 pm on November 11th, 2013
Good dog, Dima!
6:55 pm on November 11th, 2013
Wose: Our Lady is still in transit. We have to make sure she gets home safe. The giant is meetin her near the halfway point of her commute so he can follow her home.
More to Wose: Have we mentioned that we’ve never blurred a passenger before? Luna said something about rules which we promptly ignored or forgot or both. This is going to be fun!
6:56 pm on November 11th, 2013
Thank you to all the veterans!! We all owe you so much.
Mom was watching a show on buying property in Alaska the other night. They said that about 1/2 the homes in Fairbanks are “dry” cabins. No running water or plumbing. OMD!!! Don’t think Mom would care for that too much. Wose, I kinda think that the little cabin it the woods may be like that.
Oh, and one of the locations that was shown was in North Pole. It wasn’t as nice as C.Hobbitt’s house!
7:02 pm on November 11th, 2013
BooBear: We call that rustic. The little cabin in the woods is rustic. From time to time so is the main house, come to think of it.
7:15 pm on November 11th, 2013
Wose, I could pick you up and blur you to Snowhook, if you know the directions. I have experience blurring passengers, since i have blurred Princess Sam. You are so tiny, you can’t possibly weigh more than her.
7:28 pm on November 11th, 2013
Staff, Mom got your card the other day and had a good laugh. Amazing how much more activity is going on with the addition of the youngsters. Play, play, play, sleep!! Then repeat. Tonight is quiet because Mama Tabitha and two of the boys are getting “fixed.” Eli will go at a later date. But not too much later. As soon as the vet has an opening.
7:30 pm on November 11th, 2013
Now I’m having turkey. Nothing like an early Thanksgiving as my way of thanking our service members. Mom is throwing slices of turkey at us huskies. She is a hoot!
7:30 pm on November 11th, 2013
Way to go, Dima! Keep it up and quit scaring your Mom.
7:31 pm on November 11th, 2013
Pancho & Lefty: Hmmmm. Maybe Mama Luna can blur me over instead.
Rustic is nice. I’ll still be using the bathroom in the main house. Make sure your Lady is safe.
Kat: I would love to blur with you. I am afraid I am unreliable with directions. Grizz says so.
7:51 pm on November 11th, 2013
I’ve put Pancho and Leftt on temporary—very temporary—Nana smooching duty. This may be my one on only lapse in judgement in my entire life, but I’m certain it will liven things up at the rehab place. We’re due for a little fun. I will blur you to the little cabin in the woods. Don’t forget my rules.
Nana: I apologize in advance for anything the Thieves may do or may think about doing.
8:02 pm on November 11th, 2013
Mama Luna: Go to the bathroom before we blur. Don’t wiggle too much. Bring snacks. Did I get them all?
8:05 pm on November 11th, 2013
BooBear, Mom can’t wait until your mom sees her “rustic” cottage Way Up North in Alaska. Heh!
8:08 pm on November 11th, 2013
Wose: You got them all. In so proud to call you my own.
8:10 pm on November 11th, 2013
Gah!….Someone forgot to mail Nana’s third card…grump!…What can be so distracting that she cannot even get a simple envelope to the Mail Basket in time for pick-up…grunt!
Downstairs!….We are down here for the evening now…sniff!…All the chores upstairs are done and Me and Beau got our Greenie Joints…heh!heh!…We love those damned things…wuffle!
8:13 pm on November 11th, 2013
Sports!….So, now I am rubbing my paws together trying to find another sporting event that will irritate the hell out of Golinka and her motley crew….heh!heh!
8:17 pm on November 11th, 2013
MollyPop’s Mom: I am a very happy person at the moment!
SnowBella: I had to drive today to get a better snow shovel and to pick up my sister at the airport. The roads have been terrible most of the weekend and I don’t look for them to improve any time soon. Plows can scrape off the snow but not the thick layer of ice. People seem to be driving carefully at least.
It seems like everyone in the neighborhood has a snow blower but me. However, I like shoveling snow and feel that it is good exercise. The deck, driveway, sidewalks and dog yard equal my North Pole driveway so it is manageable until I run out of places to put it. I was told NOT to put it in the street.
I cancelled Sadie’s trip to doggie day care as there is a hill that I am not brave enough to tackle the first day of winter!
8:17 pm on November 11th, 2013
Rio, As far as I can tell, there are no sporting events on tonight. Oh wait, there is Monday night football.
Manning had an MRI today.
8:23 pm on November 11th, 2013
Manning!….His MRI revealed no new damage…snort!….Hot Shot confirmed this info to my friend at the really-busy-fun-place today…heh!heh!
8:24 pm on November 11th, 2013
CHobbit!…Are you aware that The Tree will arrive at your new house either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow…snort!….I sure hope it survives all that Ice…gasp!
8:30 pm on November 11th, 2013
SiberH:I read you last post as saying that there were no splorting events on tonight. Thank dog, I thought.
Rio: Next weekend the Blackhawks play your Aves.
8:41 pm on November 11th, 2013
Know many of you had cool weather today but hope the white stuff wasn’t too daunting. We are shutting down earlier than usual torub mom’s aching back, read and snooze early. Nighty night.
8:42 pm on November 11th, 2013
Dawson, I am laughing.
Rio, Your friend’s boss is a good guy. I thought I would have to wait until mom brings me the newspaper in the morning to learn more about Manning’s MRI.
8:44 pm on November 11th, 2013
Dawson!…Yipppeeee!….May the Best Waaaah Win!…heh!heh!
8:46 pm on November 11th, 2013
Dawson, no splorting events here, either! Heh Heh
Rio, Mom wishes she had a Hot Shot boss and a fun busy place. We are glad your friend is enjoying herself now.
8:54 pm on November 11th, 2013
Howlers!…Me too! Now she is in a much better mood when she comes home and she is happy with her work…snort!…She laughs a lot a the busy-place, even though she has way more responsibility and she is krazy-busy most of the time…wheeze!…All of the people in her small group are really great. Hot Shot makes it an enjoyable, pawsitive place to be all day long…heh!heh!
8:57 pm on November 11th, 2013
Looker!…And he looks like Patrick Waaaah!…snort!…See last nights photo op…..chorkel!
9:01 pm on November 11th, 2013
This is the berm made from shoveling half the driveway on the first day of winter. Where am I going to put the snow for the next 6 months? GAH

9:04 pm on November 11th, 2013
Photo of cleared deck (half of the large deck). My plan is to keep it clear so Plunderers can go out and look at the mountains and northern lights.
9:04 pm on November 11th, 2013
Hobbit! Are you showing off for us poor snow-deprived huskies?
9:07 pm on November 11th, 2013
OMYDAWG!….SNOW Big Time!…snort!….That lil’ Tennesee gal better not step into snow drift…heh!heh!
9:15 pm on November 11th, 2013
O’Howlers: I even shoveled the dog yard as Sadie has short legs (not as short as Corgies however).
If the 3 tinnie tiny dogs from across the street don’t stop coming over and peeing and pooping against my front steps, I may have to have words with my neighbor. Even I –who never had to deal with neighbors– know how to walk my dog and pick up after her.
9:22 pm on November 11th, 2013
Hobbit! If you go where huskies go, don’t you eat that yellow snow.
Heh heh heh! I kill me!
And on that note, I must bid you adieu.
9:24 pm on November 11th, 2013
C.Hobbit, I don’t like the thought of you shoveling all that snow. I wish you could ship it all down to me.
9:39 pm on November 11th, 2013
Me too, Siber. Me too.
9:42 pm on November 11th, 2013
CHobbit!….Beware of your Back-Pain…sniff!…Do not hurt yourself shoveling all that stuff…grunt!…You want to be in Tip-Top form when all your visitors arrive next Feb…chuffle!
9:46 pm on November 11th, 2013
Title!…Here is one of my titles for the next Chet N’ Bernie book…snort!….”The Borzoi Conspiracy”, although I am sure someone else has submitted it…heh!grunt!
10:13 pm on November 11th, 2013
Well, Pancho and Lefty’s stint as caregivers wasn’t as terrible as I feared. Yes, they put spinner, ground effect lights and bicycle bells on all the wheelchairs in the facility and drew paws and crossbones all over Nana’s room door. It could have been worse. I think we got off lucky.
Wose wiggled a bit, but she brought snacks so all is forgiven. Belle Starr is showing her the cabin in the woods.
10:19 pm on November 11th, 2013
Cabin!….Hey! Isn’t that my Little Cabin In the Woods?…sniff!sniff!…Rose can borrow it, keep it clean and well stocked with beer and hot-wings, but it is really meant for me! NE!…sniff!
10:20 pm on November 11th, 2013
NE?…snort!
10:27 pm on November 11th, 2013
Yes, Rio it is meant for nou, er you, but Wose is part of the kennel, too.
10:31 pm on November 11th, 2013
CHobbit: That is a whole lot of snow. I can see your driveway getting narrower and narrower as the winter goes on. On the subject of that dog doing his business in your space. I have a neighbor that allows his little dog to do the same. Drives me batty as he “decorates” my driveway with yellow and brown. I shovel the brown bits out into the street.
10:33 pm on November 11th, 2013
Sniff!.. I have a hard time with sharing….grunt!…Even though I am not there right now…grunt!…Rose is part of the kennel and should have a nice warm place to live – at least until I get up there…grunt!
10:36 pm on November 11th, 2013
My mama is so glad to be home. A reckless driver who was speeding, pushed her out of the lane and almost off the road. Luckily, she was able to stay on the road. She was so mad at this driver that was putting everyone at risk especially given the poor road conditions. She said she calle him a bad word that starts with J and ends with ackass. She is not looking forward to the drive into town tomorrow. Yeep!
10:39 pm on November 11th, 2013
Rio: We think can convince the Giant to build another little cabin in the woods so you won’t have to share. We’ll even help. Heh.
10:42 pm on November 11th, 2013
Cussin’!…None of youse ever want to be in my Subaru with my friend at the wheel if you have tender ears…sniff!…The stuff that comes out of her mouth…yeeeep!…Although, now her drive each day is far more enjoyable and she has assured Beau that her language has lost its blue tint lately…heh!heh!
10:43 pm on November 11th, 2013
Pancho!…Just so you know, I get the Little Cabin that the Giants built…sniff!
10:46 pm on November 11th, 2013
Cabin!…Just to be clear, the Little Cabin that the Giants built without any help from Thieves….heh!heh!
10:47 pm on November 11th, 2013
Rio: They cussers shall in inherit the beer. Pug 11:11
10:48 pm on November 11th, 2013
Title!…Maybe “The Borzoi Supremacy” would be a better title….sniff! …I’m sure it has also been submitted…grunt!
10:50 pm on November 11th, 2013
Thieves!….snort!…Don’t let Beau see that! There will be Hell to Pay…snuffle!
10:52 pm on November 11th, 2013
Hell to pay? Is that similar to the wages of sin? We could use the money for treats.
10:59 pm on November 11th, 2013
Wages!…sniff!…Now hold on one gold-dern minute…sniff!…If Hell pays and we get wages for our sins, we could be looking at a very nice annual pay stubbie…wheeze!…after those dawg-damned taxes, and the payment into my 4-Paw01K, I might even have a little savings…sniff!…Crime does pay after all. But don’t tell Beau…heh!
11:00 pm on November 11th, 2013
Crime pays? We stand to make a killing.
11:09 pm on November 11th, 2013
Rich!…Between the 2 + 1 of us we will be rich as Solomon. He was a king of Israel and the son of David for those who are biblically illiterate…Wow!…I have learned a few things from Beau. He sometimes preaches in his sleep while on his back…grunt!
11:12 pm on November 11th, 2013
Rio: We expected the Giant to quote scripture in his sleep given the J in AJ, but nary a bible verse has been thumped.
11:15 pm on November 11th, 2013
We blame the aforementioned lack of ‘ligion for our wayward ways.
11:19 pm on November 11th, 2013
Helpful!….We here, all of us, could package up Beau and send him Up North to mentor AJ The Giant…snort!…They could both lie on their backs and Beau could preach Ecclesiastes ad nausa…sniff!…No Return Postage will be included…grunt!
11:23 pm on November 11th, 2013
We wonder if the post office has rules for its flat rate shipping about cutting holes for a snout, a curly tail and four legs? If it fits, it ships.
11:26 pm on November 11th, 2013
ThieveS!…snort!…My motto exactly – if it fits, it ships….heh!
Dammit!…Now it is time she says for us to climb the big staircase to bed…sniff!…Yawn! I’m okay with that. It was a busy day of eating and snoozin’ and then we did not walk because it is too cold out, so I am exhausted…grunt!…Goodnight!
11:29 pm on November 11th, 2013
Good night. Our lady has to pack. She will be up north later this week.
