Since I’ll be talking about THE RIGHT SIDE today at the Tucson Book Fest, here’s a five-star Amazon review from yesterday that makes a point that’s sure to come up in Q&A. What’s my A going to be?

“A big departure from the Chet and Bernie series. More like you’ll find under Peter Abrahams. Characterizations were great and I hope for another one with this heroine.”

Good morning BSD, Wose, Dawson and everyone! Wish we could be in Tucson and in Alaska at the same time. So much going on. Hope OFA does a great job, as usual.

Review!…I actually thought the same thing. This book is more The Charming Mr. Abrahams style than of the pointy headed Spencer style…snort!

I agree with Dawson, the answer (hopefully ) is yes. For those inquiring minds, the question is whether there will be a sequel to The Right Side.

Although there could be a second question as well. I totally agree with the comment that this book read much more like a Peter Abrahams book than a Spencer Quinn book. So why was it published as a Spencer Quinn book? Answer — probably three reasons. (1) The particular publisher is more closely associated with Spencer Quinn, not Peter Abrahams. (2) These days the Spencer Quinn name is more recognizable than Peter Abrahams in the fiction market. (3) Last but not least, a dog plays a major role. As Chet would say, case closed!

I’m happy to say Nic Petit is still in first place. Now if only Joar can move up in to second.

I would say one of the questions would have to be about when is the next Chet and Bernie coming out? And the answer to that would be? Soon, very soon.

Masquers, Ulsom appears to have regained second. What a run!

Seavey and Ulsom about 5 minuets apart. Heavens, what a race.

According to Milady, this is what I look like after I fall asleep and before Belle Starr starts licking my ears. I only have Milday’s word to go on in this case. Can she be trusted, I wonder out loud?

These Daze!….Bah!…I would, for some weird reason, like to see a growing interest in The Charming Mr. Abrahams novels…sniff!…And a rally for more of his intense psycho suspense thrillers….yeeep!…The depth and insight he brings into the psychopathic mind of his characters is beyond a doubt amazing…And Great!.. And Scary!…wheeze!

Teddy!…I would have to argue against your #3 reason the book was a Spencer Quinn book rather than a Charming Mr. Abrahams book…grunt!…To me the big-ass dawg came in late to the story, had a big impact, but I never felt she was the MVP of the story. I think she was a stepping stone and a strong thing to lean on at this point in LeAnne’s story of redemption…snuffle!
