Tonight: Word
“So you’re appearing at this cool book store called Word in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn tonight at 7?” Admin says.
“Yup,” says Spence.
“Very hip part of town.”
“I’ve heard. What’s that in the bag?”
“Got you some things to wear,” Admin says, spilling out the contents.
“Tight black jeans? Red Converse sneaks? A ZZ Topp T-shirt?”
“Wear the T-shirt ironically,” says Admin.
Tonight at 7, Spencer Quinn at Word.

I’m wondering how one wears a T-shirt “ironically.” LOL! And what exactly does “hip” mean? Have a good time at Word Spence.
Good morning all.

Whoo-Hoo!!!!! The cookbooks arrived yesterday and they are GREAT!!! (even better than Mom imagined, but I knew they would be picture-perfect.) Due to technical difficulties with Blurb, we went to another publisher, with an even better format (better because photos of our glorious selves are now on heavyweight glossy paper!!!). Also, they are wire-bound spirals (lays flat when cooking up those yummy treats!) More importantly, the final price (my mom is great in negotiating a good deal) is much less than the Blurb cost, so the total cost, including our shipping costs for mailing it out to you, will only be $17 per cookbook.
If anyone who originally ‘ordered’ a cookbook would prefer not to get this version of the cookbook, just let us know here at Chet’s Blog. I will post our mailing address on Dishlickers for people to send us the checks, and obviously we need your mailing address as well, so please post it there unless you have my SDD in which case you can send it directly to me that way. We will wait a couple of days before mailing them out, but we do not plan to wait for the checks to arrive, since we trust everyone to send in the checks unless they indicate they do not want this version of the cookbook.
Dawson, for you, we will make the envelope look as plain and ordinary as possible, with real stamps. Barb and Maggie, at this point we have exactly the right amount, but if anyone decides they do not want a spiral bound copy, you would get first dibs if you want a third copy.
This is the list we have of who indicated they wanted copies.
Rio
Melanie (5 copies)
Barb & Maggie (2 copies)
Dawson
Stover
Bluecat
Bear Spirit Dog
Owley Howlers
SiberH
Mollypop
Wolfie
Rebecca
Gus & Boo Bear

Good morning all Professor Stover and Wookie!
Wookie: How much should we send for shipping in addition to the cost of the cookbook? I will send the extra sample bootie with my payment.
10:11 am on September 8th, 2011
Wookie: Great! I have your address and will send out a check today.
Rio: Have a fun trip. The project is beautiful. I especially like the water pot.
Barb: I hope your tooth is better today.
Looks like steady rain here all day.

Hi Rebecca!

We are hoping a picture of Spencer ready to look “hip” gets posted.
Wookie, we have your address and the check is ready to be mailed (as soon as we get in the boat to get to the mailbox heh heh )
Rain rain go away, Dima, Sasha, & Meashka want to play.
10:21 am on September 8th, 2011
Wookie: Wow! That is a great price. I will head to the post office today—unlike the Howlers, water wings aren’t required for my trip to the post office.
Howlers: Stay dry and safe.
AJ just headed out for a five hour road trip to make his midday meeting. After good-byes and hugs, Tenzing, Luna and Belle Starr made their way back to bed and, what’s that?—snoring…
10:36 am on September 8th, 2011
Good Morning!
Spence wearing a ZZ Topp T-Shirt ironically would definitely be hip we think.
Wookie. We will get our check for $17 in the mail right away. Thank you so much for doing this! Bear’s address in on Dish.
Well, Commander Rio and Co are on the way. The beginning of the fabled Road Trip. Looking forward to hearing from him this evening from Council Bluffs.
O.Howlers: Thank Dog he’s not traveling to your part of the country! You probably really are Owley Howlers, as Wookie says, in this wet weather (lol)
10:43 am on September 8th, 2011
Spence, I know you’ll be rockin’ those red Converse sneakers! Good luck, tonight!!!
Good Morning All!
I think I’m growing gills here. Another soggy day….
Rio: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your friends roses! The watering can really makes the project! Hope you and your friend have a good trip!

Rose,, love the Philly pics. Isn’t that a great town? It feels more like a town with a bunch of neighborhoods than a big city, we think. What restaurants did you try?
We are at a very scary part of TDWKTM. We begged Mom to stop reading for a bit, because it was getting us her nervous.
11:15 am on September 8th, 2011
Glancing back over yesterday’s posts I see, horror of horrors, Rio missed our last weather update. Sorry, my friend I have failed in my assignment of getting you this information in a timely manner. Hanging my head here. I am adding the 10-day from Brooklyn, which is slightly different so you will be prepared. Again, my apologies.

OHowlers.
I know exactly where you are in the book. I had to stop there too. It took me several hours before I had enough breath to go back and start reading again.
Red tennies. I used to have red tennies. That was before my feet got so bad I had to wear orthodics. For some reason they don’t make orthodics that fit in red tennis s h o e s.
Have to go to last night and look at Rio’s photo’s.

Spence is going to look way cool tonight in the big city!!
ummm I have never been to dishlickers, don’t know how to go there, don’t know the password.
Would someone that has my email address please email me Wookie’s address so I can send him a check. At the same time, would you please send Wookie my mailing address.
I can’t think of any other solution.
Wookie himself might have my email address from the auction.
Wookie! The cookbook sounds perfect! I’m looking forward to giving it to mom.
11:39 am on September 8th, 2011
Rose, Thanks for the pictures! That is a great photo of you.
11:44 am on September 8th, 2011
Ooo. We were somewhere else when the call for cookbook orders went out. Can we still get one? Let’s see, we’ve been to dishlickers when we won the coffee in the auction (really really GOOD coffee too) but kind of forget how we did it. I know – Staff will tell us how!
11:58 am on September 8th, 2011
Or, Could someone please send me Wookie’s email address and I can take it from there.
I’ll be back at the computer in a little while.
12:00 pm on September 8th, 2011
Siber-H – Check your SDD.
12:10 pm on September 8th, 2011
We just read Chap. 22. Dawson was right. Its the best so far!!!!
12:23 pm on September 8th, 2011
Masquers: The Prof and I had a great time! Philadelphia is a great city, and as OH said, it’s more like a city with a bunch of distinct neighborhoods. It was a nice break for the two of us. Now, it’s back to reality, and the Prof has his first two classes this afternoon.
Siber-H: You are so sweet to say that.
OH: I can definitely tell you on our last night, we ate at Moriarity’s, an Irish pub. Great food. We tried two other pubs/taverns, but for the life of me, I can’t come up with their names right now. Both were in Center City, where we stayed. Breakfast was yummy…We ate in The Doubletree’s Balcony Lounge, and they had a very nice buffet. I made my own waffle there on the last morning of the trip. 🙂
12:30 pm on September 8th, 2011
Wookie, Is there anyway we can order extras? I definitely want to be on the list for # 3, but we would order a total of 5 at that price – our original order, plus 3 more.
Is that possible?
12:50 pm on September 8th, 2011
Wookie, Maybe at that reduced price there will be others that want to order more. Maybe we could place a second order?
12:59 pm on September 8th, 2011
For any of you who like to ship books thru the mail at the cheap rate – they now want to examine the package to make sure it is a book. Barb was at the P.O. and the lady in front of her had to open her package. She had a note in with the book. They told her they would let it slide, but notes are not allowed! FYI!
1:15 pm on September 8th, 2011
WONDERFUL NEWS ABOUT THE COOKBOOKS!
Which is great, today has been difficult. Patsy and I have both been having trouble with this weather. She really began to limp last night. A lot of pain, poor sweetie.
Now I was doing the homeopathic remedies like they said. Once a day until improvement. Her limping had improved so I stopped it. Within one day and with this weather, jeez louise!
So I took her with me to my acupuncture appointment. That way she would feel special and get to eat apples off of his tree. I told Jonny G she was in the car and then I burst into tears.
Patsy took my appointment and I’ve rescheduled for next week. Jonny G did the needles in the van. I collected apples and then read to her.
She REALLY liked Chapter 22! What a HOOT!
She was very good and had already improved by the time we got home. I will be continuing the remedies everyday and everything else she’s on, and hopefully, the weather will IMPROVE!
Her inflammation has gone down significantly since being diagnosed. I am still praying for a miracle. ‘Always a good thing’ as a Great Canine would say.

We may be 4 in a row on our posts, but then we have to get back to work.
Did anyone notice that Spence always tells Admin. that no one threw anything?
1:29 pm on September 8th, 2011
First – to Spencer – here is a little bit of advice for your appearance tonight:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KY-zsZugJWE
1:34 pm on September 8th, 2011
And to Wookie – YOU ARE THE BEST!!! What great news, what a great price, what a wonderful spiral binding, what a GOOD DOG!!!
We will be sending our check in right away, and we second the idea of a second order, especially as the books came in a such a great price. We know a whole lot more people will be getting these for holiday presents.
Barb – hope your tooth is ok. Although we don’t understand why anyone would be concerned about getting a crown. We would wear ours ALL the time if Mama would let us, alas she says they are only for “special occasions”. We think the fact that we are in the room makes it special enough. When you get your crown, maybe you can come visit and we can all try each others’ on.
Wonder how Rio is doing in that back seat?
1:47 pm on September 8th, 2011
T&G: We were thinking of that exact same song! Thanks for posting it for Spence.
Melanie and T&G, are you getting flooded again? We are reading that they are now evacuating people that live close to the river in our city. When will this rain end?
2:09 pm on September 8th, 2011
Mollypop!! Received the info on my SSD. Thank you very much!!!
Wookie, The check will be in the mail tomorrow and I will send you my address on the SSD later today.
2:22 pm on September 8th, 2011
Melanie, We are praying along with you for a miracle and for better weather for all of you.
Thank goodness for Masquers, our weatherkat, because my weather person keeps standing in front of New England and the Northeast and I can’t tell a darn thing thing about the weather there.
2:31 pm on September 8th, 2011
Siber-H: Thank you. And don’t feel left out. Our weatherperson tends to stand right in front of where we are in the state? ‘What’s up with that?’ as a Great Canine would say!
2:49 pm on September 8th, 2011
We will send a check as soon as we know how many copies for sure. Or do you want a check for the 2 now?
3:02 pm on September 8th, 2011
Melanie: I’m thinking of you and Patsy.
My weather person stands in front of the weather map blocking everything also. Perhaps they’re trained to do that just as waiters are trained to wait until you have food in your mouth before coming over and asking if everything is okay.
3:30 pm on September 8th, 2011
Staff, Got your info on dishlickers! Thank you very much!
I’ll go there and look at it.
4:03 pm on September 8th, 2011
B: Too funny! Waiters waiting until you have food in your mouth. How true, how true.
Melanie: Good to hear Patsy was improved by the acupuncture treatments. Yes to a Miracle!
Sorry Siber-H: Slow on the draw here to get that information to you. Others beat us to it.
4:17 pm on September 8th, 2011
I’d like to know what happened at the inmate rodeo and I’m wondering what tree sap smells like.
5:19 pm on September 8th, 2011
B-too funny. It has to be true since it is everyone’s experience.
Melanie – we believe in miracles. We truly do
Howlers – we are fine up on top of our hill. Are YOU guys ok?
5:22 pm on September 8th, 2011
B- it depends on the kind of tree. Pine sap smells like pine. Maple sap has just the faintest smell that we associate with maple syrup. Birch sap smells lovely and sweet.
Why do you ask?
5:29 pm on September 8th, 2011
I wonder if Spence and Admin wear the same size. Perhaps Admin bought the t-shirt for Spence to wear hoping that it will end up in his closet eventually… 🙂
Melanie: I usually say there is a special place in hell for certain types of people, but in your case I think there must be a special place in heaven for a woman that gives her accupuncture appointment to her best girl. To me, that is the truest of love.
I wonder how many times Rio has told someone to ‘get out and walk’ on his roadtrip.
WeatherKat: I’m still confused about Alaska’s location on the map. I’ve always thought of us as farther north, but everytime I see the national weather report we’re not too far from Hawaii.
5:50 pm on September 8th, 2011
T&G: Tree sap is one of the things Chet smells at the mine.
5:56 pm on September 8th, 2011
Laughing here guys. Just what I needed!
Finished The Dog Who . . .
Wonderful! My review that doesn’t give anything away. I think. . .
What great characters. Love how Bernie and Susie are growing.
From T-FAT, when Bernie can’t even tell Susie how he feels and yet when she hangs up the phone, says everything she would want to hear, to The Dog Who where they are breathing as one. Love it.
Chet is vintage Chet. How I love his mind!
His relationship with Bernie is one that all of us envy and have just a taste of with our Within the Nation friends.
As someone said last night (or was it today) the book starts out at a fast pace and keeps getting faster. Or something like that.
The plot twists were fascinating and I KNEW that smell would come at some point!
That CHET!
Chapter 22 was a marvel!
6:08 pm on September 8th, 2011
T&G: We are fine at our farm, but there are many roads closed in our county. Our gravel drive/lane is washed out, so that is going to take a ton of work. But other than that, we are o.k. altho there are many 4-leggeds who have cabin fever (and stall fever).
6:25 pm on September 8th, 2011
Yeep!…I’m here!…snort!…I’m here in a place called Council Bluffs!…heh!….I am relaxing while she unpacks a few things. We are only here one night so the whole kitten-kad-boodle does not have to be put away. No bed bugs, I already sniff-tested the big-big bed. …wuffle!…It’s very nice and we are both tired – I think I will stay here while they all go gambling and drinking…heh!…Or whatever they do …sniff!… I have a story to tell but first I want to catch up on what’s going on today on this here blog…grunt!
Hip!…Spencer?…sniff!….How will they camouflage his pointy head?…heh!
6:50 pm on September 8th, 2011
Hotel!… We both love the hotel room so far…snort!… Just the two of us and no one telling her brother how to drive and where to go… sniff!…Truth is, if he had listened to her mothers directions we would be lost, lost, lost right now. Ending up no where near our nice hotel…heh!…. Thank goodness her brother brought his GPS system with him. Very cool! Worked like a dream. She (gps) did get confused right around the end and had to keep re-calculating but we could see the hotel and knew where to go…snorkel!
Nice!…Just kicking back watching a big screen tv and resting…heh!….The life! This is what vacation is all about…snorkel!…No doubt about it. Her poor brother drove the whole way and he is one tired puppy this afternoon. So who knows when they will all get together and go gambling or whatever they do without me…sniff!…That’s okay, as long as she leaves the fan going and I am comfy on the big, big bed…heh! yawn! …I did not puke once today!……woooo!…I did have to poo a few times…sniff!…Probably slowed them down a bit…heh!..When you gotta Go! you gotta GO!…dammit!
6:53 pm on September 8th, 2011
Crap!…Her mother wants to go eat!…snort!…Not allowed on laptop alone here…grunt!…back later.
6:55 pm on September 8th, 2011
I have a new sweater to wear when I go to my girl’s college. I will look like I belong there so they will think I’m one of the students.

6:58 pm on September 8th, 2011
Oh, and I wanted my Iditarod patch on the sweater too, but the patch was too big.
6:58 pm on September 8th, 2011
Sam, in that sweater you should be able to stay with your girl right in her dorm room. No one will know you aren’t a Coed.
(do they still have coeds? B.Stover?)
7:05 pm on September 8th, 2011
Hello to Rio in Council Bluffs! Can’t wait for the story! By the way I now have The Dog Who in my eager paws.
7:09 pm on September 8th, 2011
Sam- surely you do not vant blend in. You are Princess. All college people should be students/servants to your royalty.
Maybe Barb can lend you her new crown.
7:15 pm on September 8th, 2011
Hi Rio in Council Bluffs.
Are you related to Rio The Evil Pug?
7:21 pm on September 8th, 2011
Yark!! Rio has made contact!!
Sam, You should model the sweater for us.
7:28 pm on September 8th, 2011
That is a great sweater Sam.
Melanie: Yes, we still have coeds…even coed dorms but different floors.
7:29 pm on September 8th, 2011
Rio: I hope your friend knows that the accomdations in Willow are likely to be…um…a bit different than that nice hotel you’re staying in tonight.
Sam: Maybe you could attach two patches together at the top and just wear them over your petit frame like a dog jacket.
7:40 pm on September 8th, 2011
Hey, y’all! Mom says she’s been going crazy the last couple of days. First she was having trouble with our computer at home last night, then today the phone lines weren’t working at work, so no computers all day long. She couldn’t read anything on the blog at all! I say now she knows how I feel, stuck in this house all day long without the computer even on! So now we both have to go back and catch up.
Back in a few minutes!!!
7:49 pm on September 8th, 2011
Gambling! Rio, No! You’ve only just begun….A faint memory of an unauthorized stop in Vegas on the way home from a cross country vacation comes to mind. The side trip ended badly. Can you say wipe-out? Fortunately a check was accepted by a kindly gas station manager in Barstow to get us home. Good thing we were coming not going. Let’s just say I’m not a Lucky Dog when it comes to slots.
8:01 pm on September 8th, 2011
I’m watching Dracula: Dead and Loving It.
Mel Brooks’ movie. Very . . .
But bed calls and I’m zonked. Will have to watch the rest later.

BSD: Gambling scares me. I work too hard for my money to gamble it away—I’d rather scoop it up with a shovel after each feeding. 😉
I finally gave in and decided to put my first book ever on my clearance rack Kobo ereader. My first book, ‘The Dog Who’ and the second book I loaded was Frankenstein in preparation for Professor Stover’s class.
8:21 pm on September 8th, 2011
Abbie, do you wear orthotics in all 4 s h o e s? Or just the back?
Mom is working on algebra right now at school. She says that it is using bits of her brain that have been dormant since high school. She was so tired when she got home that she did not even make it through one chapter of TDW. Goody, that will help it last a little longer. We only read it during the afternoon when dad is at… wherever it is he goes all day.
8:26 pm on September 8th, 2011
Love the sweater, Sammy.
Crown – Barb is seeing the dentist tomorrow and then we will know more about the crown. She thinks she will be wearing one. But unlike T & G and Sammy, she will have to wear hers all the time. Bummer. She does not like spending money at the dentist – cleanings and that is it! She needs the rest of her money to buy me treats!
Speakin of -Oley, glad you liked that frozen stuff she makes with the p.b. and bananna.
She wants to go watch Bones and have some dinner. BBL
8:28 pm on September 8th, 2011
Woo Hoo Rio in Council Bluffs…and still able to communicate with us! What a world.
Bella, we also fork up our money after feeding…we can relate.
8:57 pm on September 8th, 2011
Hello everyone.
Mom finished Dog Who in two sittings! Now she is going back and rereading all the parts that made her laugh. Her favorite parts are the disconnect between Chet’s thoughts and his actions.
I was hoping that Spence would wear a pair of Bernie’s Hawaiin pants. It’s a shame to have them wasted in some storage shed.
Too bad that YSAS had to work.
9:00 pm on September 8th, 2011
Oley Howlers: Some people don’t understand why we do what we do, but the other night as I fed my old guy, Howard small pieces of hamburger by hand I wouldn’t question it one bit—the nuzzle and head bump spoke of his gratitude. Of course, once the rest of the dogs saw Howard’s special treatment they all made the same demand.
9:03 pm on September 8th, 2011
Sam, the sweater is just marvelous. You will fit right in, but don’t let those rowdy frat dogs annoy you. You just say no to their parties – they say they have some chapstick but don’t believe them!

Siber, We watched an episode of Bones and it was all about a suspected chupacabbra killing. Won’t tell you how it turned out!
Barb loves Bones, can’t wait for the new season coming up. Main character is pregnant, as they are working her real life baby bump into the story line.
9:28 pm on September 8th, 2011
Hey Macy,
Um it is Staff who wears those stupid but important orthodics. I, Abbie, have the most wonderful feet ever. Staff is jealous. Somehow a mistake was made on that post.
Staff also says that she is the proud writer of the fast and faster description of The Dog Who…She is bowing now.
Melanie you are a great mother to Patsy.
9:38 pm on September 8th, 2011
Barb, rats…I missed the chupacabra episode.
Mom doesn’t want me to watch that stuff because she says I believe it.
9:51 pm on September 8th, 2011
Mom finished reading TDWKTM to us. It was fantastic! A great read (for B 🙂 )
We told her to take it easy…just one chapter a day so it would last. But does she ever listen to us? Now we will have to read it all over again.
9:52 pm on September 8th, 2011
Spoiler Alert: There was pants in Chet’s mouth to close the case. heh heh
9:53 pm on September 8th, 2011
Siber, We didn’t say it was real. Snicker!
10:08 pm on September 8th, 2011
Barb, It is real.
10:32 pm on September 8th, 2011
Oh Wookie!
The cookbooks are such a bargain! Now, remember…No Priority Mail. Surface will do just fine. We don’t want anyone thinking that I’m desperate to get this package. Thank you very much for doing this. 😀
Melanie: What a selfless act it was for you to give your acupuncture appointment to Patsy. It made me tear up a little bit. I hope you both feel better.
10:38 pm on September 8th, 2011
Winner!….Wooooo!….She beat the odds tonight!…heh!…She came in the room and threw money on the big, big bed!…wow!… It’s more than I need to survive on for quite a few months, let me put it that way….chorkel!…She never wins, but tonight, in this town she actually won some bucks….snort! …Now I am wide awake and ready to party!…Wooooooo!…Bring on the room-service jerky treats!…yeep!
10:39 pm on September 8th, 2011
Siber – we are with you! We know there are chupacabbras out there. Mama won’t even let us out in our own woods here at night alone – she says that coyotes are almost as mean (and hungry) as chuppas. We believe her – we stay right near the house after dark.
We need someone to call the SPCA for us – Mama will not let us even SEE Dog Who until we get to the beach. She says we have to start at the beginning and read them all in order…so here we sit with our own copy of Dog Who, with all of your discussing it, and WE AREN”T ALLOWED TO READ IT YET!!
Does anyone else see the irony in Rio (the Evil Pug) being in COUNCIL Bluffs??? just pondering….
10:50 pm on September 8th, 2011
Rio, Tell your friend to save some of her winnings for a good seat at a Rockies game next season, (whispering)but not this season.
T&G, It will be a lot of fun to start at the beginning of Chet’s books and read them in order. You’ll have a great vacation at the beach!
night all
Have a safe journey tomorrow, Rio
10:57 pm on September 8th, 2011
Excitement!….Well, after all that excitement and the whole trip today we are both ready to try out the big, big bed and go to sleep with the TV on!…ooooer!… This never happens at home…heh!…Night everyone! Thanks for thinking of us today. Tomorrow will be another adventure as we go further into the dark belly of Iowa…gah!…Today’s story will have to wait for another time…snuffle!
11:01 pm on September 8th, 2011
We know a lot of folks have gone to bed already, but we have a question – the ones who read the blog tomorrow can answer then.
We just went to dishlickers to get Wookie’s address and we see that there are now almost 80 emails in the inbox. Would anyone mind if we did a little “housekeeping” and stashed the emails in folders. For example, we could take all the recipes and cookbook stuff and stick it in a folder labeled “Dishlickers Cookbook” or some such. Its just that by holding all the emails in the active folder, we risk loosing them if there is a system failure, plus we are taking up a lot of memory in the email.
We will only do this if everyone is ok with it. We are NOT talking about editing or deleting anything – just tidying up a bit.
Let us know and we will go from there.

T&G: I don’t have any heartburn over tidying up Dishlickers. When do you go to the beach?
Rio must be twirling at his good fortune! I have the feeling that his friend’s winnings might take the edge off the trip.

I think it is a great idea T&G. I actually did a little deleting at the start of the dishlickers site. It had some stupid emails from non plunderers explaining yahoo stuff and we just said……un-uh to them. However I think putting the ones we want to keep in folders is a great idea.
But maybe call it the pre-edit cookbook or something like that to differ it from the finished beauty of a cookbook
Just my humble opinion.
and maybe a folder called addresses for future reference?

Whoo Hooo Rio,
Maybe you can get a new computer although you haven’t been complaining about the old one lately.
And maybe your vacation to Alaska is paid for now! Stick to that money buddy and don’t go back to the casino!!!!

T&G: Makes sense to me. Go for it!
Rio: I’m glad the trip is going well. Don’t forget to wave at Gilbert for Mom!
Sam: Great sweater — just don’t wear it too tight. You know those BDOC (Big Dogs On Campus) only have one thing on their minds!
Wookie: If it is possible to do another cookbook order, we would be interested in getting at least one. Mom was going to try to do it herself, but if the others turned out so great, maybe that would be the better course of action!
Barb: Good luck at the dentist tomorrow!
Melanie: I’m glad Patsy is feeling better. We absolutely believe in miracles!!!
I think that’s it. Mom and I are going to hit the hay now. Good night, y’all!!!

Staff: On ocassion, AJ has had to explain certian gutter words to me—he says that when we’re in public just nod like I understand and he’ll explain things later, but I think the meaning of such words like those dealing with footwear and gambling halls might even be lost on him.

Ahhh, chapter 22 at last! I loved it when he met that guy and l’dol when they did that stuff. Why do some writers have so much trouble telling about the story? I just summarized the entire chapter quite neatly, without giving too much away. Huzzah!!!
DebbieLM it sounds like you have experience with college guys and the old “wanna see my Chapstick collection” line!
Love is….giving your acupuncture appointment to a friend in need.

Macy: I still find myself chuckling about your comment the other night asking for a band of well hydrated men to help with the fires in your neck of the woods. It reminds me of an article that was emailed to me a couple of years ago. There had been several wolf attacks on dogs. Some well meaninig soul sent me an article that stated one way to guard against wolves coming too close was establishing a paremeter around the property using the urine of a human male. The article instructed to collect the ‘sample’ in a container and pour around your property. My thought was why not just give one’s husband (or other male they happen to have handy) a two liter bottle of Mountain Dew and tell them to come back when both bottle and bladder were empty.

Mom just finished the new book and loved it. Really loved how Suzie’s character developed in this one. Can’t wait until the next one to see how it plays out with the new puppy. Wookie, if you are reading this one chapter at a time you have remarkable restraint. It did start at top speed and take off from there.
Congrats on the win, Rio!! Our mom is absolutely the WORST gambler in history. Her best friend wins big and Mom is done within an hour.
Wookie, we will be checking dishlickers for your email adress so we can contact and get the address to mail the check and post our address for you. IF you decide to do another order, we may want to get on that list.
Sam, LOVE the sweater but we must echo what others have said…watch out for those college dogs. What will Wolfie say?

Oh, and for you Kindle experts….how do you get back to the beginning of a book you have read? Once Mom reads a book, it stays stuck on the last page. What is she wants to re-read?

G&BB: Click on Menu. One of the items that comes up is “Go to…”
Click that, and then you will see an option of “beginning” also “cover”.
