Tomorrow Night at 7

Spencer Quinn and Katherine Hall Page at the Harvard Coop in Harvard Square (Cambridge MA), not buying Harvard hoodies, but talking and signing. (And one of them will also paw-print on request).

Welcome Yorkie, Spanky.

I was considering going to Havad Squayuh.
The idea of seeing SQPA talking and singing? Yes, I was charging up the car battery.
Then I saw it was signing. Sigh.
I’ll have to wait until he’s in the western part of New England again.

By the way, last night’s link? I hope you didn’t miss the photos. lol

I keep saying that the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area would be an excellent place to come to sign books.

Didn’t have a chance to check the blog last night, so here’s wishing HOH Mom all the best today with her knife experience and that she should let us know how she is doing as soon as she is able.
Sorry about what the Cubbies did to the Rockies, RIo and SiberH, they had beaten up on the Nationals as well before that. The Nationals did manage to beat the dreaded Dodgers but Bryce Harper was fairly seriously banged up after running into the outfield wall chasing after a fly ball. Guess his brakes weren’t working that well — that was a problem that Wookie on occasion had as well chasing after a squirrel or wascally wabbit.
And who knew about goat month. Thanks, Melanie.

    Good Morning, All!

HOH! Good luck to you and wishes/thoughts for a speedy recovery.

I would love to have Spencer Quinn come anywhere near my little slice of paradise. But…that’s what I get for living in a tiny town.

Bear Spirit. That was a great link that Melanie posted wasn’t it. Those goat people are funny.

I just spent 1/2 hour talking to Dawson. Next I get to go into town for a MASSAGE!!!! Yahooo. And then quilting all night.

The Baltimore Orioles (Birds not ball players) and Rose Breasted Grosbeaks are back! I love watching them in the garden.

See you all much later. Hope we have heard from HOH by then and Amalia and Leonard. I expect to hear some great stories from Tupper and Gilly.

Melanie: I love living in Tiny Town, though. I grew up just outside of a big city and the minute I got the opportunity, I moved to Tiny Town. It’s been the best thing for Finn and I. There’s nothing like either growing my own food or being able to go to a Farmer’s Market and getting it locally grown. So much fun.

Finn’s Mom: We here agree. It is great to live in farm country (ours wouldn’t qualify for Tiny Town status), and get fresh, locally-grown food from our own garden, and our neighborhood farms. We huskies know how good it is to have all the space we want too, and we can have loud, rowdy Howlfests whenever the mood hits!

O’Howlers: Yes! I’m visiting my family this week and I get to be in the company of Baxter, our Senior Husky…well, he’s a mix, but he displays more Husky personality than the Chow in him. I got to listen to him howl last night…sounded so pretty. He got a nice juicy bone and lots of lovin’ time today.

pssst – Hey Plunderers – we gotta whisper, cuz we aren’t supposed to be on the ‘puter.
But we just had to tell you that the Storyteller is doing great.
Mama – well, not so much. You know her – she doesn’t like to say too much when things aren’t going so great. She is having kind of a tough time with being a nurse and housekeeper and show-organizer and warden and Gramp-watcher. Plus she blew her knee out and keeps whining about the pain and the Doc can’t even see her til next week.
So she is just being cranky old farty pants.
She is hiding out; we are staying out of her way, and of course those stupid Corgis are just kissing up to her and being so obsequious it is just nauseating.
Just ignore her. At some point she will quit being a crybaby and will be worth talking to again.

    4:16 pm on May 14th, 2013

B&S: Make sure your mama is tucked under the quilt. I came close to being an cranky, old farty pants once, but realized I don’t wear trousers. The devil is in the details. Have I mentioned I make a great pillow?

    4:23 pm on May 14th, 2013

Oh, poor, poor Amalia. She is such a great lady, and doesn’t deserve to be in pain. She does such wonderful prayers for all of us, so someone who is good at doing a prayer (not us) should do one for her this evening.

Here was our experience in living near Tiny Town. Barb moved 100 miles away from the far out Chi suburbs and found it to be a far different world, and not in a good sense. She thought people would be wildlife loving, earth loving, farm animal loving folks. Not so. Farm animals are a product, wild life is to shoot, and anything growing in the ground is to be sprayed with as many chemicals as possible. They thought Barb was a tree-huging nut case who thougth animals should be raised and treated with respect. No one cared about organic or sustainable or respecting nature. If in animal climbed a tree in your yard, you shot it. If a cat is dumped by some idiot, you shoot it. It was shocking for Barb, and she finds that suburban people generally care more about nature. Barb tried getting involved with selling her garden produce at a Farmer’s Market the first year she was out there and people would say “I don’t care about organic”, or “I don’t care about free range, eggs are cheaper at the store, and it’s just a chicken”. Disappointing to say the least.

Herbs, Thanks for checking in with us. We are glad to learn Leonard is doing well, and we pray Amalia will feel better soon.
We know she is trying to do too much, but sometimes life gives us no choice. Tell your mum to take care of herself as best she can. We all love her.

B&S, Be nice to your mom, who is so good to all of us. We are happy for the Storyteller, but now he needs his partner to get back to dancing shape.
B&M, We do have a lot of those old timey farmers around here too, but fortunately for us, we have more and more organic farms springing up within our farm community. We also have consumers who look to buy whatever food is on sale at Walmart or one of the big supermarket chains, but then there are lots and lots of folks like our mom who realize that unhealthy food costs way more in the long run.

Oleys, Unfortunatley in the area where Barb settled there were very few people like your folks. The town was a charmily little town, but Barb was considered from Chicago and they all think city people are crazy. Incidently, they call everything east of Rockford “Chicago”.

Happy, happy feet on Wall Street again today. We likey!

    Can anyone say “potty mouth”?

Amalia, mom says to tell you that the house will not fall down if not cleaned. She got a small, cordless leaf blower and just sends everything out back. Including me.

Macy, love your Mom’s idea of cleaning.

BY DOG, I FIXED THAT SCREEN AND CARPOLA WINDOW!

I don’t think the gouges will show too much after a coat of paint. And, the hammer prints won’t either.

In any case? The screen works and the window shuts.

Herbs? Don’t mess with your Mama. No mice, and no hanging from the ceiling.

I will be here for prayer time.

YSAS is finally getting his molars in . . all the wrong places. All four have to be pulled, and yanked. Ouch.

I am going to bed . . Heated mattress pad is on tonight. SUPPOSEDLY, this will be last night of frost and frost warnings until September. Sigh
