Today in Albuquerque
“You seem to be escorting the bad weather around the country,” Admin says.
“Thanks,” says Spence.
“Remember Joe Btfsplk?”
“I do not.”
“Probably too young.”
“I’m actually looking forward to today. Albuquerque’s a cool place. Try the local Tractor beer sometime – their slogan in something about getting plowed.”
Welcome Erica Cantana from England, Arlie, Genevieve & Jean Luc, Rascal.
Today at 2, Alamosa Books – Spencer Quinn reading and signing The Sound and the Furry. Pop quiz!

Today! Spence & Siber-H at Alamosa Books in Albuquerque! WoooHooo!!
11:09 am on September 14th, 2013
It “seems” like we are first…but no…HOH & Rio were.
Have a good Saturday everyone.
11:11 am on September 14th, 2013
SiberH!…One lucky dude…snort!..Sob!sob!Sob!
11:12 am on September 14th, 2013
Have fun!
Good morning all.
11:13 am on September 14th, 2013
Greetings ! Bear and Masquers, how nice to see your faces! I just got back from posting on yesterday’s blog. Hope your mom and Dawson had a good visit, and maybe some pictures were taken?
I hope Siber-h gets a stress ball, and that tomorrow’ s book tour picture is of Spence, Siber-h, and his mom!
Good day to all!
11:15 am on September 14th, 2013
Not first, no contest…just impatient! We were thinking the same thing about OFA and weather. And speaking of weather, mid 50’s last night and still haven’t hit 70! The house actually cooled off a bit last night…sleeping weather 🙂 Again, Dima, goooog for you.
Could we have a serene Saturday?
11:18 am on September 14th, 2013
Spence! Welcome to Albuquerque!!
We got another half inch of rain during the night. We are getting more rain out where I live than the city of Albuquerque is getting. I suppose it is because I live at a higher elevation than Albuquerque.
The front page headlines of my newspaper this morning said, “Historic Rainfall in NM.” There is some flooding and evacuations happening in NM, but nothing like the state of CO.
Rio? Are you still safe from floodwaters?
11:19 am on September 14th, 2013
Melanie: I love the “map” of England.
11:23 am on September 14th, 2013
Siber! Are you going to meet OFA today? If you do, can you say Howdy for me?
Mornin’ All.
11:25 am on September 14th, 2013
Zombie Melanie: Love last night’s choice for Chet’s Internet Book Club.
Buddy&Leno: Nice bio from last night!
Rose: Two photos were taken…only one made the cut…the other blurry poise is on the cutting room floor.
We here are looking forward to hearing about your own upcoming Plunderer meeting. With great photos of course!
Staff: Here’s hoping today goes better for you quilting-wise.
11:28 am on September 14th, 2013
Dima, You betcha to both of your questions.
I have to go back and read last night’s posts now.
11:43 am on September 14th, 2013
Melanie, Neat map of England.
Buddy and Leno, Enjoyed your biography. Us, too, we love Colorado and would have gone there for vacation like we usually do in September, but we can’t go this month because we are waiting for the roofers to come put a new roof on our house. We have been on their list since July and have worked our way to toward the top of the company’s “to be done list”.
It has all worked out for the best because it means we are in town while Spence is here. I, who love the great outdoors, would not want to go camping in all this blasted rain anyway.
11:59 am on September 14th, 2013
Sheesh! I had no idea that was England. I will be asking Mom if I can have geography lessons now.
Buddy and Leno, I am 1/3 of the Oley Howlers (a.k.a. O’Howlers). I am known as “The Hottie” because, well…I am sure you can figure that out. My big brother and best friend is Dima, the most laid-back husky in Siberian history. My kid sister is Katrina (“Kat the Dog”) whom you have already met. I trained her. Once she was self-maintenance age, Dima took her under his wing. Kat said I am a stern taskmaster, while Dima is not.
We live with a girl cat named T.C. (For Trade Center because she was found the same week as 9/11). We had a boy cat who considered himself one of us Howlers. His name was Buddy, and he was Chet’s very first Friend of the Month. Buddy crossed over the rainbow bridge earlier this summer.
When we joined this blog, we had a big sister and matriarch named Sasha. She crossed the bridge last January. Mom’s first horse also crossed the bridge this year, in February. It has been a difficult year here, but we Plunder On.
We have 4 horses on our farm now. Mom’s mare is Psy Ann (“Annie”), who she raised from a baby.
So now you know we are all 4-leggeds who post from here!
12:09 pm on September 14th, 2013
Melanie: It took mom about 10 (a number?) minutes of looking at your post last night to get past, “They are all English authors”, to “Duh! It’s England”. You are one good zombie Melanie.
Siber, Mr. Husky: Enjoy OFA tonight. We’ve been trying to give mom a question for OFA. Have idea but ????? Quien sabe?
12:21 pm on September 14th, 2013
HOH Is your mom going to see OFA? I have sort of lost track of who and where.
12:30 pm on September 14th, 2013
Question!…. Here is a question for The Charming Mr. Abrahams. Does he plan on ever writing another mystery/crime novel under his real name??….snort!….I miss reading his “darker” novels…sniff!
12:31 pm on September 14th, 2013
SiberH!…Check your SDD once again pal!…heh!heh!…I’m so excited for you today, I can hardly stand it!…yeeeep!
12:32 pm on September 14th, 2013
Mr.Staff and I remember Joe….snicker.
This picture is for the O’Howlers

going back to read last night and catch up with today. BBL
12:37 pm on September 14th, 2013
12:39 pm on September 14th, 2013
Spencer!….AKA Joe Btfsplk….grunt!….He sure has done a number on my state…sniff!….More rain is on the way for tomorrow…gasp!
12:42 pm on September 14th, 2013
Staff! That was great. Perhaps if the ‘Rents had built a table and chairs, they could have stayed living at their old house where they had put in a ce-ment pool.
12:43 pm on September 14th, 2013
I was in the garden yesterday. Mr.Staff took a picture. I call this one “There is a tomato in here somewhere.
12:47 pm on September 14th, 2013
A Map of England you say? With all English Authors?
Because I read every other word, as usual, I missed it all.
Cool picture though.
12:48 pm on September 14th, 2013
I am AbbietheKitty. I am a tortoiseshell kitty with two white ‘mittens’ on my front paws and sexy thigh high white ‘boots’ on my hind paws. A good word to describe me is embonpoint.
Rio says I am fat…sniff.

12:51 pm on September 14th, 2013
Siber-Mr. Husky: Going near Hotlanta on the 18th (Alpharetta, GA), if only mom can find it! Enjoy tonight 🙂
12:51 pm on September 14th, 2013
Very nice picture, Staff. What a fabulous smile you have. So does your sister. We just love seeing Plunderer pictures, as well as their 2-leggeds.
Wose, your mystery is about killing us. We need to know what 3 Plunderers you are meeting, and where. Although…hmmmm Meashka says she has an interesting thought at the edge of her mind, just out of reach.
12:51 pm on September 14th, 2013
Another beautiful picture of one of the Sisters Three!
Staff: How goes your day? Have you gone back to repair the Quilting “error” of last night?
12:54 pm on September 14th, 2013
Abbie, you are gorgeous! And so right not to smile. Smiling is so very beneath us, Girl.
12:55 pm on September 14th, 2013
Buddy and Leno,
I am Alice M. Johnson. I am a beautiful blonde kat. Rio says I am a cover model but I am just a kat with her own agenda (and a most beautiful fluffy tail) I am quite proud of my tail.
I came in from the woods in August 2011 and am named Alice after Calvin Trillin’s wife Alice. As in Alice Let’s Eat.
Once I got onto the blog Alice Johnson seemed too plain to me and after much discussion it was decided my middle initial was M. (for Magnolia). Maggie of Barb and Maggie says that is her long name too.

12:59 pm on September 14th, 2013
Here is one of the very few photos of me I ever allowed Mom to take.

1:01 pm on September 14th, 2013
Alice!…I know you to be a Super-Model Spy…sniff!…You are always out there lurking…grunt!
1:02 pm on September 14th, 2013
Kats!…Too many damned Kats on this here blog…grump!
1:02 pm on September 14th, 2013
Good morning all. Beautiful day here in northern Illinois. Barb did some grass cutting and is going out for a late lunch-early dinner with daughter Shannon later.
Barb is looking into getting a lap top computer. What do youse guys suggest? We heard H.P. Probook is good. Suggestions?
Love the pictures!
1:09 pm on September 14th, 2013
Fellow Felines, on 3:
Dogs drool.
Cats rule.
1:09 pm on September 14th, 2013
Rio! I resemble that remark!
1:12 pm on September 14th, 2013
HOH Good! Your mom has time to think up a question.
Rio, You do realize that it is mom I am sending off to Alamosa Books to represent you and I. She is not the brightest bulb in the candelier, but she is all we have.
It is too hot for me to go and no way would the bookstore let in a big dog.
She will do her best but I would suggest we keep our paws crossed for her.
1:13 pm on September 14th, 2013
And we resemble that remark (sorry, but true) except for the kats rule part.
1:16 pm on September 14th, 2013
gah that would be chandelier
1:17 pm on September 14th, 2013
T.C.: We had no idea your initials stood for “Trade Center”…always assumed it meant “The Cat”.
1:18 pm on September 14th, 2013
Siber! How funny is that! Pop just said the same thing about me a bit ago. Are your mom and I twins?
1:19 pm on September 14th, 2013
Siber-H: We knew what you meant and Your Mom will do fine at the signing.
1:23 pm on September 14th, 2013
Bear, The v-e-t thought it meant “Too Costly”, because the first thing Mommy and Daddy had to do was pay for my leg to get set and pinned. You see, Sasha found me a split second before Daddy could save me. People who met me after that all think it means “Too Cute”, which of course is like saying Too Rich or Too Much Fun.
1:23 pm on September 14th, 2013
Kat, Mom wishes she were as cute as you are.
1:25 pm on September 14th, 2013
Siber: Sorry to hear youse will not be going with your mom to meet Spence. He will be disappointed. You would have been no trouble at all for her at the signing. We all know how good you are at following commands.
1:33 pm on September 14th, 2013
SiberH!…I can imagine you at that bookstore…heh!heh!…Sort of like Chet in Iggy’s house…chorkel!…All hell would break loose!!
1:34 pm on September 14th, 2013
SiberH!…I have more suggestions for your maw, so check your SDD…snort!snort!
1:36 pm on September 14th, 2013
Masquers, The sun is coming out so it will be hot and muggy. This does not mean the rain is finished with us.
Also, we have learned that it is really a bookstore for kids. I don’t bite, but I don’t exactly love kids. I like grownups. I really like adult men who like dogs so I would so love to meet Spence. I am truly bummed about not getting to go.
1:48 pm on September 14th, 2013
Barb: I have a Toshiba laptop and really like it. I also have a Dell which I like but it is old and a bit slow. I had a Hewlett Packard desk computer which I hated. It kept freezing and nothing seemed to fix it.
2:25 pm on September 14th, 2013
And we’re off!
The almost 4 year old has already worn me out but we are off for some farm tours and a water coloring painting class. Hope I will catch up later.
I read 1 chapter of Furry last night then woke up in the middle of the night and read 2 more chapters. I am savoring it.
2:29 pm on September 14th, 2013
SiberH!…Make sure your Maw takes her camera!…snort!…She does not have to share the photos, but she better get some of Spence and her together…chuffle!
2:37 pm on September 14th, 2013
Rio, Have a seat and remain calm. Mom sold that camera.
Thankfully, we are getting good photos of Spence from other people while he is on this tour.
I have no control over some of the things mom does.
2:40 pm on September 14th, 2013
Siber – we are sure you would be the same perfect gentleman as you were when we met. Of course we did have bacon with us at the time, but I’m sure that had nothing to do with it. And we would like to see pics of your Mom with OFA. (Yes, we know she is camera shy, but just this once???)
Today is sunny and cool at the beach. Some friends are coming for dinner tonight – our traditional lasagna feast. Today lasagna – tomorrow LOBSTER!
2:42 pm on September 14th, 2013
I’m still reading, but had to stop to first say howdy to all the four legs. Second, to say…I really don’t like HPT computers. OK, I’m a Mac guy, which is at odds with being a Linux guy (cognitive dissonance?) but for Windows computers, I’d say anything Lenovo, you won’t be sorry. They make good stuff, they have a good warranty, and, the one time I had to call tech support, the tech support guy was American, and besides, he didn’t chastise me for being an idiot…I did that myself. (I do tech support, and it turned out that the computer was unplugged…oh, sure the power cord was plugged in, and the power adapter was plugged into the computer, but what I didn’t notice was that the power cord was not plugged into the power adapter.) So. Lenovo for sure. You’llpay a bit more, but worth it if you ask me. Have also had decent luck with Asus, although I don’t think their build quality is quite up to Lenovo’s standards.
2:45 pm on September 14th, 2013
Mmmm lasagna. Love lasagna. Especially if it’s also got Italian sausage in it. Or pepperoni. Or both. Also, mmmm lobster. Yes. I’ve got pork tenderloin smoking in the Weber. Best Father’s day gift ever: the Weber Performer. Charcoal with propane start. Doesn’t get much better than that.
2:46 pm on September 14th, 2013
Siber-H is making me laugh.
2:47 pm on September 14th, 2013
I am getting ready to escort mom to the door now. She is leaving.
BBL
2:55 pm on September 14th, 2013
Gasp!…What did SiberH say? She SOLD the camera?…grunt!…What the hell!
3:03 pm on September 14th, 2013
I’m only on Chapter 5 of Sound. (Still reading slowly.)
3:05 pm on September 14th, 2013
Poor Rio.
3:06 pm on September 14th, 2013
Sob!…Sob!Sob!Sob!…sniffle!
3:19 pm on September 14th, 2013
Siber: Your mom did what? Sold the camera? No!!!
3:20 pm on September 14th, 2013
Oh Rio! Don’t hurt the messenger. It wasn’t Mr.Husky who sold the camera. It was “mom”. Snicker. You will just have to forgive him her transgressions.
About Laptops. I loved my Lenovo. It would still be mine if I hadn’t wanted a laptop with a special slot for my photo memory card to slide in to. So now I have a Toshiba.
But I would buy a Lenovo again in a second. Everything Buddy said about their support is correct. I had a problem with mine once and it was fixed nicely and I got to talk to a lady in South Carolina who spoke perfect english and was horrified at the weather in Minneapolis. So funny!
Also I would go to the Lenovo website and order it directly from them. That is what I did with my Lenovo and then with my Toshiba. Lots of specials on the websites and they are very helpful. You can get exactly what you want in memory and power.
Oh, and you can choose if you want Windows 8 or Windows 7. When I got mine most computers came with Vista and I could choose to still buy Windows XP. And I did.
3:21 pm on September 14th, 2013
Mom doesn’t want to disparage any store (if they are competent) but… on Aug. 18 she pre-ordered TSATF at the store here. On the 10, they had excuses. She has checked daily. Today…it is in and will be shipped to your store on the next truck…Sept 18! GAH! That is the day she goes to Hotlanta to see OFA 🙁 Is that any way to run a business?
3:28 pm on September 14th, 2013
OFA mentioned on Facebookie that nothing has been thrown at him, yet. Any requests?
3:30 pm on September 14th, 2013
HOH: Sorry for your mom. Now she will have to buy TSATF at a higher price when when she goes to the signing. 🙁
4:01 pm on September 14th, 2013
HOH,
I would cancel that order and buy it from Spence at the store in Hotlanta. sniff. Let this store eat it because of the bad service. My little paperback Exchange in Minneapolis can get me hardcover books in a week at the most. At the rate this store is going the book will be in late and you won’t have it in time to have Spence sign it. grump. Dorks. grrrr.
4:13 pm on September 14th, 2013
Siber-H: Maybe someone will sneak a Photo of Your Mom & Spence when when she isn’t looking. Heh.
4:29 pm on September 14th, 2013
Siber- Mr. Husky: Wouldn’t that be wonderful?
4:29 pm on September 14th, 2013
Speaking of sneaking and photo’s
Dawson in the ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ I hate the name of that plant. She grew them from seed.
4:31 pm on September 14th, 2013
Speaking of sneaking and photo’s
Dawson in the ‘Love Lies Bleeding’ I hate the name of that plant. She grew them from seed.

Second try. Remembered the photo this time.
4:35 pm on September 14th, 2013
Staff!…Are those Halloween flowers?…sniff!…Very spooky!…wheeze!
4:47 pm on September 14th, 2013
Progress!….Has been slow on the next project what with Iowa the flood and all…grunt!
5:15 pm on September 14th, 2013
Wow Rio,
Your friend is going 3-dimensional. Ver-ry Interesting.
5:27 pm on September 14th, 2013
It feels like November here. Pop issplitting wood to light the woodstove in our summer kitchen/tavern. Mom is on call. This ought to be good.
Siber’s mom is with Spence RIGHT NOW ! We have a feeling we will be seeing her photo on Chet’s blog tomorrow. Hope she remembered he Plunderer ID and her passport.
5:36 pm on September 14th, 2013
Cool enough here for mom to really cook in the house and NOT summer kitchen.
Broasted potatoes, oven roasted corn on the cob, and chicken breasts marinated and rubbed with “Old Bay” seasonings in the oven 🙂 Should be tasty!
5:43 pm on September 14th, 2013
Nothing good cooking here. The ‘rents just got home from a clambake so they don’t want food. Too bad, because it would be a great evening to roast a chicken, along with potatoes and onions.
5:47 pm on September 14th, 2013
OH: Any night is a good night to roast a chickie, chickie, chickie , with anything for US, US, US. We know we will get tasters!
5:48 pm on September 14th, 2013
Roasting!…What chicken are you thinking of Howlers?…heh!heh!
5:51 pm on September 14th, 2013
A nice plump chicken, like the one in the fridge. Not one of those scrawny little girls in our yard.
We can’t wait to hear from Siber.
6:20 pm on September 14th, 2013
Dima, Spence says hi back at you.
Rio, I will be sending you an SDD as soon as mom finishes this post. All went well.
Mom here: Spence gave a very interesting and funny talk. I really enjoyed it. He talked in detail about how he writes….the process of writing. I am glad he is an author, but he would have also made a good teacher.
He is writing the next book in the Chet and Bernie series. I don’t think I should say much more but we are going to love it.
Spence is the one that is taking those pictures, so I am sure you will be seeing a photo soon.
OMD That is a nice bookstore. It is full of all different sizes of stuffed animals. If I had been able to take Siber-H and if they would have let him in, it would not have been a pretty picture. I would have had to march him back out of the store immediately.
I am so glad Spence came to Albuquerque and I finally got to meet him.
6:23 pm on September 14th, 2013
Staff, We like that plant but we have never, ever seen it before.
Rio, We are anxious to see the finished project. It is pretty.
6:31 pm on September 14th, 2013
SiberH!…WoooHoooo!…I am waiting and waiting for that SDD…grunt!
6:44 pm on September 14th, 2013
Rio, Check your SDD
Mom forgot to say that Spence gave a very nice mention of the quilt we sent him 3 years ago tomorrow.
6:51 pm on September 14th, 2013
Woo Hoo! Siber’s Mom! Great reporting! Dima is twirling!
6:56 pm on September 14th, 2013
SiberH!…Did Spence say “Hi” to me too?….sniff!sniff!
7:04 pm on September 14th, 2013
Oh, Rio, Everyone remembers YOU, YOU, YOU because you never let them forget! Silly pug-lips!
7:13 pm on September 14th, 2013
Rio, You didn’t exactly tell mom to say Hi from you, but she mentioned your name several times.
You have to issue commands point blank to mom just like you would a dog…like tell her to say hi from you.
Mom is far better at obeying commands than I am.
7:21 pm on September 14th, 2013
Nice report from Siber’s mom! We are hoping to see a photo of her and Spence in the am.
Riö: Can’t wait to see more of your friend’s new project!
7:21 pm on September 14th, 2013
SiberH!…Sob!sob!Sob!…He didn’t say Hi to me…wheeze!…When she mentioned my name, what exactly did Spencer do? Did he grit his teeth together and bang his head on the desk? …wuffle!
7:25 pm on September 14th, 2013
Rio, He did not grit his teeth and bang his head on the table. He smiled and nodded in agreement.
Everyone knows that you were the glue that brought this blog together.
7:27 pm on September 14th, 2013
Nodded!…In agreement?…snort!…What does that mean? What did your maw say about me anyways?…grunt!
7:33 pm on September 14th, 2013
My best friend Drew is on his way over. I’ll talk to youse in the morning.
7:39 pm on September 14th, 2013
=Our mom will see SQ on the 18th in Hotlanta. If you have a pressing question, SDD it to her. She isn’t shy and is willing to stick both size 5’s in her mouth! (and chew repeatedly).:)
7:41 pm on September 14th, 2013
Rio, Mom would only say good things about you. She knows you are one of my very best pals in the whole wide world. Besides that, she likes you.
She doesn’t even mind that I have learned new words from you and new spellings of words.
7:41 pm on September 14th, 2013
…Breaking news… my house is under contract! I gave more than I wanted and won’t breathe easy until all the inspections & appraisals are done and we are actually signing the closing documents (on or before Oct 25). It has been a tough process.
Anyhoo… it is okay to uncross your fingers and toes for now…thanks for all your pawsitive thoughts.
7:45 pm on September 14th, 2013
Good news, C.Hobbit!!
It is terrible what a person has to go through these days to buy or sell a house.
7:46 pm on September 14th, 2013
CHobbit: House selling is always tough, especially if one has moves away… We will keep you in pawsitive thoughts.
7:52 pm on September 14th, 2013
RIO! Love your friend’s project!! And you are one unforgettable pug!
Siber-H: I’m glad your mom you had a fun time at the book signing. Stuffed animals? I would have loved that bookstore too! Did your mom get a Chet and Bernie stress ball? I would like to have one.
About laptops…..some of us at my busy place have those laptops. I am one of those folks. I like it a lot, especially since it is being built in the US of A!
Buddy and Leno: When I make lasagna, I always use Italian sausage. I go to the little Italian deli by our apartment where the make all kinds of fresh sausage. They also make a meat pie that will knock your socks off.
Very excited about my Plunderer meeting next Saturday!
7:54 pm on September 14th, 2013
CHobbit: Doing the Snoopy dance here! Congratulations!
7:58 pm on September 14th, 2013
Wose, No, mom didn’t win a stress ball. She actually knew the answers to some of the questions, but she wasn’t fast enough to get her paw in the air.
8:00 pm on September 14th, 2013
Staff: That is a great picture of you! Lovely pictures of Abbie, Alice and T.C.
I thought T.C. Was for Top Cat. Does anyone other than me remember that cartoon?
8:02 pm on September 14th, 2013
I have tried to get on Chet’s Blog 6 times since this morning . . Thwarted by life each time.
I didn’t get to say have fun to Siber-H’s mom. sob sob. But it sounds like she had an excellent time! YooHoo!
C.Hobbit has her house UNDER CONTRACT! YooWoo!
Kats took over the Blog! YooWoo!
A picture of Dawson under some Zombie Flowers. YooWoo!
A picture of Staff under some Pretty Flowers. YooWoo!
Buddy and Leno are busy reading, but not to busy to say Hello! YooWoo!
Pant . . Pant . . Pant. I can’t remember what else. Oh, Riö’s friend’s project has me pondering.
8:04 pm on September 14th, 2013
I recommend Mac. (The computer not the dog) I always recommend Mac.
We have had Macs since 1990. They looked a lot different then.
8:15 pm on September 14th, 2013
We be with Melanie Mac is different but always GOOD for techno-chalenged. Hey mom can now post foto! And speaking of fotos…Yesterday we spoke of Tolkien. He was an author and cryptologist. Here is an example of “Tenguar” {P.S. If you can read this…don’t).

8:31 pm on September 14th, 2013
HOH, I will live it to you to write and read Tenguar. I am soooooooooooooooooooo tired that I am reading every other other other word.
That is enough of a challenge
8:37 pm on September 14th, 2013
It is only the raving of a love sick 18 year old boy ( now a H.S. principal) who I shouldn’t have let go. BUT Tolkien was a cryjptologist!
8:38 pm on September 14th, 2013
Rain!…It looks like it is gearing up to rain all around us again…sniff!sniff!…How much can we take? I don’t think very much more…gasp!

9:00 pm on September 14th, 2013
Naw!….Rose, do not worry about me and Beau…sniff!…Unless it rains hard for another 4 days straight, then you might worry a little bit…snort!…We are surrounded by the flooding but we are far enough and high enough away from the rivers to be affected directly, so far….wheeze!
9:00 pm on September 14th, 2013

9:13 pm on September 14th, 2013
RIO! You, Wookie and Spence are up top!
HOH, Not just IMAX, but 3D too! Talking about black and white….I never knew the Horse of a Different Color in the film changed colors ’til my family got a color TV set in 1977. Heh!
9:16 pm on September 14th, 2013
Rose!…My friend has watched the news way too much today. She is feeling very sad because of all the crops and homes that have been ruined this week. She says we are the Lucky Ones…sniff!
9:26 pm on September 14th, 2013
Wose, How do you know you will only meet 3 Plunderers next week?
9:34 pm on September 14th, 2013
Mac! Yes, loves my Mac. Except I need a new one, this Macbook Pro from 2009 doesn’t hold a charge anymore, and it’s slowing down. But besides the Mac, we have an iPhone, an Apple TV (the only accessible media streaming thingy, I might add), Melanie has an iPad, and Alena has an iPad Mini. I guess we’re an Apple house. Plan to get the iPhone 5S. We didn’t get much reading done, but that pork tenderloin I thought was delicious, though Melanie said it was too peppery.
Does Spence like dogs? You’re kidding, right?
Seems there was something else I was meant to comment on, but I can’t remember what. Ah well. Now that Alena has gone to bed, we can put the book back on.
9:46 pm on September 14th, 2013
Buddy, You crack us up! Please continue.
9:57 pm on September 14th, 2013
Siber-H: No Stress Ball. Sorry to hear that.
I hope Someone Here gets one, but it is doubtful.
Did your mum get your Plunderer Passport stamped at least?
9:58 pm on September 14th, 2013

Whoo Hooo Mr.Husky.
YAY CHobbit. Fingers, toes and eyes still crossed. I think I am stuck this way.
I did some more quilting today but on a different project. It went OK. I put the Project from H**L in the back of the room under some other stuff. Maybe I will look for it in a week. Maybe. It rained almost all day here. Mr.Staff could not go to the local colleges football game. Well he could go but he did not want to get wet. He is so fussy.
Nighty noodle to most of you and good morning to LizF. Hey Liz, how ya doin’ down there in OZ???
10:19 pm on September 14th, 2013
WHAT?
Oh Mr.Husky what oh what are we going to do with you?
(I forgot to have Dawson sign my passport when I saw her a week ago too. Now she is gone gone gone. sniff)
10:34 pm on September 14th, 2013
Great news for the Hobbit! Yay!
No passport stamped? Siber, your mom will just have to come to Alaska with her passport.
Bluecat, you are having more fun than us so far. Wah.
10:35 pm on September 14th, 2013
I am glad to see that I’m not the only one around this here blog that forgets things. 🙂
I have to say it is a bit disconcerning to reading about myself eating pork that was too peppery – I swear I had chicken tonight – and having an iPaw, when I’m fairly certain I’m using a mini iPaw.
Weird. Anywoo, I have got to get some sleep. More than the five hours that I got last night would be great.
So TTFN and GoodDay to Liz!
10:52 pm on September 14th, 2013

T&G And we are happy for you guys that you are having such a good time at the beach and even happier that The Storyteller is doing so well. Eat some lobster for me, please, because I never get it here.
11:04 pm on September 14th, 2013
T&G, Is it cold at the beach today/tonight? It is very cold here, but it’s supposed to be warmer tomorrow.
Bluecat, Where are you?

Howlers – we’re here; we were reading TSATF during commercials – good game – we thought it might be a blow-out for y’all. Dad was there. Mom stayed home with me. Have you read that schedules may not line up in the next few seasons and our teams may not play each other any more? Amazing what’s happening with college football. Show me the $$$.
Congrats to CHobbit.
Happy early Egg Day.
12:58 am on September 15th, 2013
CHobbit is under contract? Yeep! Yeep! Splort! Positive thoughts that the rest of the process goes more smoothly.
Nighty noodles.
2:14 am on September 15th, 2013
Melanie, if it makes you feel better, the other Melanie didn’t eat any pork…too peppery, remember?
Now I remember. The Wizard of Oz? Remastered in 3D? Must be one of them there visual things I don’t understand, but can’t they just leave it alone? It’s art! Show it the way God intended. Course, I said the same thing about all the colorizing that went on 20-25 years ago. Course, like I said…well anyway…read the books, they’re better. And the movie left out stuff, like the china village. But if you really want an adaptation of Oz that’s A)closer to Mr. Baum’s original and B) is really excellent in its own right, check out the work that the Colonial Radio Theater has done. They’re on Audible. Also on CD. Full cast audio drama, yes, there are still groups that do that sort of thing.
NowI’m also gonna take my grumpy curmudgeonly self off to bed. And maybe read some more of this here fine book here. See y’all tomorrow. Or, umm, later today, I guess.
8:49 am on September 15th, 2013
Bluecat! We had not heard about the schedules. That would be so sad, but then we keep losing our big rivalry games because of those #^]#}^ conferences: PSU, Miami, BCU. We hope we never lose our traditions like playing Navy, or Michigan. But cross-state rival Purdue? Terrible.
It was a good nail-biting game.
