I just signed a petition asking my electoral college not to confirm Trump as president. Here is a link to the petition:

Howler’s Mom, looks like a good idea to us…we like to ride, too. (Especially in the car ????)

B, I’m not sure I agree with that type of petition. Our nation has a lawful procedure for electing the president and other officials. I don’t feel it is right to say “hey, I don’t like this guy and don’t think he’s qualified so let’s not follow the law.” What needs to be done is to petition to restructure the law that outlines how the electoral votes are decided so that whoever wins the popular vote would override the standard electoral procedure. To not confirm Trump at this point is like a person who has not medical insurance and is diagnosed with a dreadful illness and he then decides “oops, I’d better get insurance now.” It just doesn’t work that way and it shouldn’t.

HoHs, they really aren’t that big but they are at their very cutest stage. Running and playing!! Humping up at each other then attacking and wrestling. They also love to try to crawl up Mom’s pajama pantlegs! Ouch!

I’ve never seen so many birch trees together. Which reminds me, I’m reading an interesting book titled, “The Hidden Life of Trees” by Peter Wohlleben. The subtitle is, “What They Feel, How They Communicate.”

The weather here is perfect. It is a chilly 30s in the morning, perfect for us Howlers, and a mild 67 for relaxing on our porch now. The sky is beautiful blue but what we really need is RAIN and lots of it. It is very dusty here, and there are fired north of us.

Howler’s Mom: I’m loving your cawfee cup. I will probably get a ride on a horse when I visit Montana in a couple weeks. It will be my third horse ride in my adult life and when I say ride, I mean the horse walks around in a circle a couple times. Heh!

    BooBear: Sweet kitty cats.

    Kat: Good one!

I’ve been gone all day, first playing cribbage and then making chili for 100 or so because tomorrow is Remembrance Day in Canada and the senior’s centre serves chili and hot dogs after the ceremony. Whew. It is done and cooling in big pots. I have to go back after a couple hours and put it in the fridge overnight.

Years ago, the Giant downloaded a bunch of music onto our Lady’s MP3 player before what would be her first and only dog sled race. She had no clue what was on it. It was in the middle of the night and halfway through the race that our Lady heard a track from a Leonard Cohen album that was talking about the end of the world. In her extremely sleep deprived state our Lady started planning to stay on the trail indefinitely if there was no AJ or kennel left in the world. It seemed like a couple of hours before she figured out that it was not real. When she finally finished the race one of the first things she said to the Giant was, “No more Leonard Cohen. Never again.”

Rio: This was several years ago—in fact we may not have even been a blemish on a permanent record then, or a wag in Annabelle or Tenzing’s tail then. We will look to Teddy’s paw to say whether or not the statute of limitations is up against our Lady.

    Hallelujah!
The first time I heard that song was at the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Olympics, sung by KD Lang. It was wonderful!
My all time favorite Leonard Cohen song is Suzanne, but he has so many good songs. He could rival Bob Dylan for the Nobel. He has a much better singing voice though, low and sexy.

We found an instrumental version of hallelujah to play at Rick’s memorial service. I will always love that song.

The Alaska relatives have left me. It was family night here, with a Thanksgiving feast. I felt kind of sad eating by myself. I will probably be alone on the real thanksgiving too. Sigh

Ok pity party over y’all have a great night and a better tomorrow

ML: That’s no good! Want to come to Montana?

I am leaving next week to go down and see family in Montana. I didn’t want to travel but couldn’t bear the thought of being up here in the cold and dark when I could be down there in the not-so-cold and not-so-dark, surrounded by family.

BSD, Thank you for posting that song. Beautiful and particularly meaningful.

ML! There mist be a group you could join for Thanksgiving. Here in Aiken, there is a One Table event that serves what we were told is a real home-cooked traditional Thanksgiving dinner. And it’s free! We are going to the blessing of the hounds first, and then to the One Table with some neighbors.

I don’t make a big deal about being alone on holidays. My sister will be in Oregon with her daughter’s family on Thanksgiving. I know I can do something if I want. ML: if your daughter is getting serious about her boyfriend, maybe you can join them and start getting to know his family? can you drive over and see your daughter in Austin and bring your own food to eat
