Today at 2PM
Report from Admin:
Spence will at the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club on Cape Cod today. They’ve got nice tennis courts there but he’s not setting foot on them, just reading and signing as part of a library fundraiser. I’m actually borrowing his racket for the afternoon – I like it better than mine. Heh heh.
Question about the beer some readers bought Spence in NH? It was Tuckerman’s Pale Ale, and reportedly excellent.
Welcome G-Man, different dude, Fragment from AZ.
Gus & BooBear: hope all is well down your way.

Tuckerman’s Pale Ale sounds excellent. I bet Spence is glad to be back home. Admin. should let him play tennis this afternoon. He deserves some playtime after all that travel.
9:37 am on September 26th, 2012
Thank you for the information on the beer. (I’ve never had it.) Have a good reading and signing. (And Admin, you should use your own tennis racket.)
Good morning all.

Hey, we were first 3 times this week! New record for us.
Good morning all. Carpet installers are here doing the bedroom. Yea!!! Now we can get the matresses and bedroom furniture out of the living room. Also, Barb can stop sleeping on the sofa in the den.
10:20 am on September 26th, 2012
Good morning Barb, Bee and everyone.
Mama is off to visit her Bear. The big BearFest auction was held the other night, and we are pleased to announce that her Bear sold for the 3rd highest price of the evening. The top Bear was a beautifully mosaic done all in shards of mirrored glass. It truly was gorgeous and went for over 4K. Another Bear went for $50 more than Mama’s, but that was kinda funny. The artist’s girlfriend was “shilling” to get the price up. She shilled just one time too many, and the other bidder backed out. So she had to pay what she bid -$3K.
Mama would never ever shill, not only cuz it’s cheating, but she says she is the type that always gets caught.
Anyway, the lovely grocery store that hosted her Bear also bought him and they are going to put him on display in the produce department. We really hope this will make little kids like going to see produce, and will encourage them to try some of the veggies that the Bear “harvested”.
So today, Mama is going over to the store to do any touch up and or sanding and or reinforcing of baskets and veggies that may be required before the Bear takes over as the Host of Produce.
10:32 am on September 26th, 2012
T&G: This Bear congratulates your Bear on his new job as Host of Produce!
(whispering) what is shilling?
Spence: I know you are very happy to be back in home territory after all the travel. Don’t let Admin borrow your tennis racket.
A Good Morning. Hope all under the Quilt rested comfortably and there will be good reports all around.
10:36 am on September 26th, 2012
T & G’s Mum, that is quite an honor. We loved your Harvest Bear. That is a perfect forever home for him, plus you will get to see him when you shop.
Yesterday Jackson told us that his dad is not as smart as his mom because daddy doesn’t download games on his phone. That is the view from a 3-year old mind.
10:44 am on September 26th, 2012
Bear – “shilling” is bidding on your own auction item to drive the price up. The problem is, you have to have a REALLY good understanding of just how high the other bidders will go, and stop bidding before you get to that price. The girlfriend gamboled that the bidder for that Bear would keep going, but apparently the bidder had a firm top line of $3K, and wouldn’t budge over it.
Barb – we think Mama is smarter than Dad cuz she makes us cookies and he doesn’t. Besides which- she’ s a GIRL and everyone knows girls are smarter.
tee hee
10:49 am on September 26th, 2012
T&G, You mum’s Bear really came in second in the auction.
Good Morning Everyone!
10:55 am on September 26th, 2012
“Shilling” is the verb form taken from the noun “shill” which refers to a person who lures another innocent person into a swindle.
11:11 am on September 26th, 2012
Good morning, all.
Spence, have fun not playing tennis at the tennis club. Heh! And thanks for naming that beer…not one that we have tried, but we do love pale ales.
G&BB, Melanie, CHH, stay under the quilt, and we will provide beggin’ strips and Yummie chummies.
MacysMom, glad you got unfired and still don’t have to go back to that place.
Kat sent word that the girls (Wose, Luna, Belle Starr) loved the Yummie Chummies she brought along. Masquers is not quite sure what to make of them, but Kat did think to take some Friskies Party Mix at the last minute.
11:40 am on September 26th, 2012
O.Howlers: I know M appreciates Kat’s kind gesture. Salmon balls are also a favorite and can be shared with everyone. There is a special treat from Alaska…the name has slipped my mind…Siber-H would know.
So…the Siber Party continues with a sample of the pale ale perhaps?
Macy: That was good news yesterday about the unfiring. Too bad your mom hadn’t worked there long enough to collect unemployment.
Paws crossed new doors will open for her.
11:42 am on September 26th, 2012
To the Royals and B: Thanks for the information on shilling (even the name sounds sinister!)
11:44 am on September 26th, 2012
Dead!…Someone actually died of a heart attack and then someone else had a stroke the busy-place because of the month of intense stress….snort!…My friend had her blood pressure checked yesterday and it was really good. So no worries there…gasp!…But Geeze!
11:47 am on September 26th, 2012
There was a British coin called a “shilling.” That’s what I think of when I hear the word.
11:51 am on September 26th, 2012
Gus&BooBear: Please check your SDD! Suspicious email received.
12:06 pm on September 26th, 2012
Rio! OMD! Your Friend’s busy place is like a presser cooker with the lid blowing off.
Nana says (from her past experience with a couple of these work situations) that your Friend has entered the Twilight Zone…a Crazyland where the Mindboggling becomes an everyday occurrence. But for her (in both instances) the tide turned in her favor. She was able to leave the job(s) with compensation and make a fresh start.
May this positive outcome be the case for her also.
12:13 pm on September 26th, 2012
Rio, That is terrible what is going on at your friend’s busy place. I hope sanity can return soon.
Bear, It is Arctic Paws Yummy Chummies. Sled dogs are on the package.
Dawson, in the past, has ordered Salmon bonbons for our parties. Alice and I love them.
12:25 pm on September 26th, 2012
Bear, those are the treats the girls are all enjoying. Masquers is having the Party Mix instead, because Kat was afraid a kat-dog wouldn’t like yummy chummies as much as a Kat Dog does.
Rio, your friend is working at an awful place! Egads! It is good to hear that her blood pressure is good. We hope she can let the crazy stuff at work, or better yet, leave the crazy work all together.
12:34 pm on September 26th, 2012
O.Howlers: Masquers LOVES Salmon bonbons! I’m sure the others are sharing as we speak.
12:38 pm on September 26th, 2012
Kat just sent word that she needs more Y-Cs. She said Masquers is gobbling them up like crazy.
12:45 pm on September 26th, 2012
I just received an email from Gus and BooBear’s mom with directions to a link. Gmail put up a notice–in orange–that her site may be compromised. I deleted the email without clinking on the link.
1:09 pm on September 26th, 2012
The Prof, Wose, and us Smoochers are now back home, after stopping for some snacks at Starbucks. Nurse Lisa was very nice, and let us cuddle with Rosé in her bed before the lightning bolts. Wose’s doctor thought twice about letting us watch the lightning bolts. He thought we would be afraid, but we told him the Smoochers were not, and it is our job to take care of Wose.
Another doctor in blue pajamas but a mask on her face, and a needle in her arm, and she went to sleep. The nurse in the lightning bolt room took off Rose’s socks. They lookes like a puzzle, with lots of colors…but they did not match.
Wose’s hair almost caught fire, but Kat and me but a blanket on her head, and then sat on it to put it out. We did not like those lightning bolts, no we didn’t.
We woke Wose up later on. Kat gave her many smooches, Masquers snuggled next to her, but did not bark. He made a nice sound from his throat. I sat on Wose’s head, and my four-legged stood guard by the bed.
Now we are all tucked into Wose’s favorite Wizard of Oz quilt.
1:23 pm on September 26th, 2012
….from under the Wizard of Oz quilt.
Melanie, it is nice to hear from you. You and Zoe take all the time you need to heal. I always cry on the anniversaries of my mom’s, pop’s, and the greatest S-I-L ever deaths, and it has been several years.
G&BB, I hope your dad is tip-top soon. How is Gus feeling these days.
T&G, your mum rocks! I’m so happy the Harvest Bear found his forever home. It is quite appropriate too!
CHH: Sending Siber hugs and loving thoughts to you.
Rebecca, how is Tenz? BTW, loved AJ’s timber cutting pics!
Staff: Lightning bolts are done early in the morning because of general anesthesia. Splorting wouldn’t be much fun.
Rio! Yikes I cannot believe what goes on in your friend’s busy place. Can’t this be reported to the Department of Labor. BTW, great picture of you last night. Would you consider auctioning off some copies for the next auction? There is a buyer in New York I know who would love one…..
Admin, please do not use Spence’s racket.
1:29 pm on September 26th, 2012
Rose is back!
1:31 pm on September 26th, 2012
Please anyone who received that email, delete, delete, delete!! It did not come from us.
Still undergoing tests. Poor Dad is back to feeling fine and wants to get out of the hospital and we really really want to see him. Mom has been coming home to feed and scoop but then heads back to the hospital. But she has not sat down once so we can climb in her lap and tell her it will be okay. At least Gus is still getting his meds like he needs.
All of you who are more techno smart than Mom, should she just get a new password on her email account?
1:34 pm on September 26th, 2012
Also, congrats to the Royal’s mum!! What an honor and what a perfect place for Harvest Bear to find his forever home.
2:15 pm on September 26th, 2012
(Whispering) I was a little afraid of those lightning bolts, but after seeing how brave Wose and her BFF Belle Starr are, I swallowed hard, popped another yummy chummy in my mouth, closed my eyes and gave Wose many kisses. Luna and Masquers made sure we were safe from fire.
3:06 pm on September 26th, 2012
The furever home for Harvest Bear is ideal! Host of Produce…what an honor!
3:15 pm on September 26th, 2012
Howlers: The Smoochers are very thankful Kat has joined the group. She is an excellent addition to the team.
BSD: The computer should be back up to speed since the removal of the old anti-virus software this morning. Although disabled it was still causing problems.
G&BB: The suspicious email has been deleted.
3:19 pm on September 26th, 2012
And, Kat shared her Salmon bonbons with me!
3:36 pm on September 26th, 2012
Masquers,
Please do not tell Buddy or T.C. That you like these. Our household eats them up too fast without those two getting involved.

G & B, We also got the email. Deleted it w/o opening it. Have gotten similar ones from some English Shepherd Club people. I think when you are hacked, the link goes out to every one of your contacts.
Carpet looks great! Have gotten some furniture moved in and the closet partially organized. Now have to wait for Josh (the 2nd smartest one in the room) to move the heavy stuff and set up the bed.
4:47 pm on September 26th, 2012

5:03 pm on September 26th, 2012
G&BB, we got that e-mail too, and got rid of it fast!
Rebecca: Happiest of birthdays to you, and have fun on your date! The Smoochers left a little while ago after a kat nap ……Belle Starr did not want to miss cake. She thinks it might be ice cream cake!
XOXOXO

Barb and MagPie – Where is Peaches living right now? Did she get her new house yet?
5:58 pm on September 26th, 2012
Just got a call from my brother yesterday. Since we aren’t exactly close, I figured he didn’t want to talk about baseball. My dad, living in a group home, had a stroke and is not expected to pull through. When I talked to my mother today, she told me to head home. Flying back to the “Valley” tomorrow. The airline no longer cut you a break for situations like this, but at least I got a senior rate with Southwest. I’m exhausted at the moment and can’t even imagine spending a day with 6 hours of airline travel. You gotta do what you gotta do.
5:59 pm on September 26th, 2012
Happy Birthday Rebecca!! Husky Birthday Hugs!

Happy Birthday Rebecca. Have a great date night!
Sorry to hear about your dad, Terry. Hope it goes as well as possible.
MPM, Peaches is in boarding right now with friend Kim, who helped us pack up and who is coming for a visit to the new place on Friday. Just ordered the coop a few days ago and it has been shipped from California. Believe me, it would be cheaper to buy thh eggs, even at the $4.50 a doz. they charge here for free range organic. Never realized how much we were giving away!
6:10 pm on September 26th, 2012
Terry: We are very sorry to hear about your dad’s condition. Sending prayers for you and your family.

Been a long day here. Bedroom is ready for us. Josh came over with the kids while Jessica had her hair done. Carried all the heavy stuff in for us.
Made biscuits and split pea soup with ham. Yummy. Jackson said “Pee soup? Ick!” Then he had a spoonful and decided it was pretty good. Now they have headed home and we are ready to say good night.
Hope all are safe and sound tonight.
9:26 pm on September 26th, 2012
Barb, Enjoy your nice fresh bed.
Dawson said to tell you that she won a copy of Dog On It from Costco. It came in the mail a few days ago. She is too busy packing and watching Survivor to post tonight. She gets up at 4 a.m. to go to the airport. The Turtleman will take her there. I will hopefully be sound asleep.
Goodnight all

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. It was quite a day. I was preparing to leave my office for a meeting, stood from my desk, put on my jacket, grabbed my bag and turned around to find all my co-workers gathered to wisk me to the board room for a surprise party. I told them I had a meeting, so they sang Happy Birthday to me as I grabbed my copies off the printer and left the office. When I returned they surprised me with not one, but two cheesecakes topped in strawberries—the only problem was I had to share. Grump. 🙂
AJ and I had a nice dinner and he surprised me with a wonderful gift. He signed me up for a four week writing class! I’m twirling, I’m spinning. And to top it off, I recived a wonderful birthday card from Rio and Beau.
Terry: I’m sorry to hear about your father. The quilt is tucked over your shoulders. You might be new to the wonderful Plunderer quilt, so I’ll give you the skinny. You might see a horse or two. Tenzing makes a great pillow for resting weary heads while hurting hearts heal. The fridge is stocked with snacks and Slim Jims are delivered on a regular basis. You are in my thoughts.
1:34 am on September 27th, 2012
Wose: I’m glad you’re resting from those lightening bolts. That Kat sure is something, the way she forgot her fear and tended to you.
Sam: Would you like to join the ranks of Smoochers? It is a wonderful job and pays in belly rubs and treats.
