Here’s last year’s Super Bowl post. Funny thing is I don’t remember it at all. What I remember is Bernie losing his shirt to Sid Siegel, the gambler. Does memory ever play tricks on you?
SUPER BOWL

Before I get to Marley and Me – don’t worry, haven’t forgotten – I better mention we’re at a Super Bowl party, me and Bernie. Some bikers are here. I like bikers, even though we’ve had a dust-up or two with them in the past. I like dust-ups, too. One particular biker dust-up might be in Dog On It, not sure. Anyway, the Super Bowl is football. Bernie likes baseball much better. He pitched for Army, or maybe I mentioned that already. Me, I find baseball hard to understand. Football is easy: one big dust-up. I love when they play in the rain, love playing in the rain myself. As for the football – not my favorite ball. Have to get hold of it by one of the ends, and even then it’s pretty slippery. Basketballs are the worst, completely impossible unless you make a little hole in them first. Then they shrink down nicely. That was a great day, when I found that out!
Was there something else …?
Anyway, today’s the Dry Gulch Super Bowl party. What if the whole Sid Siegel thing never happened but it happens today? That’s kind of scary. Think I’ll go sit beside Bernie.

Hey Chet, I'm rereading Dog on It. It's as good as it was the first three times!
Thanks Cosmo! Newfs fourth huh??? Will have to watch the re-run of the Dog Show today and see who it was.
One of the "star" Newfs was the daddy to our last litter! He's also going to be the daddy of our next litter.
Depending, of course, if Gracie does her bit.
You can never tell about Newfs.

"What if the whole….never happened but it happens today?" A parallel universe? A rewrite?

Cosmo – great reporting on the dog show. Did you watch it cuddled up in your nice Snuggie?
To the Abbster – Mom has played that song about a million trillion times today and she sings and dances too. She says that's how I got my name.
Rio – I don't like those stupid poodle hair cuts for the dog shows. Not for me. Mom says, however, that I have to have a pouffy tail and that the word pouffy means fierce. And I am a big fierce dog.

Hey Mollypop, The staff tells me that song is addictive and she can't get it out of her head. The first thing she did this morning, sitting on the side of the bed, was sing it. well, as much of it as she can remember…hehehehe
It is a good one to dance to.

Chet!…groan…I have a terrible feeling that Spencer’s memory problem might be catching…maybe you better stay away from that pointy guy for awhile till this clears up.
A-Kat!…Negative on the whole song thing. I can find my own music with out your help…snort!..do me a big favor and ask your ‘staff’ to lock you up in the closet today.

Hey thanks guys, yes I did have my snuggie on MP, it was like 7 degrees here last night, and Dad doen't like to turn the heat up too much, what a cheapskate! – my Dad's a huge foot ball fan, but the rest of us pretty much just watch the commercials and the half time show.
Rio are you trying to quit smoking like Bernie?

Cosmo!…I am a grumpy bear today, aren't I? I guess I am just feeling anxious and on edge. I need some action, but there’s nothing going on…snort!…
I’ll try to behave, I promise.

A-Kat!…mmmmm…i'm sorry, I don't really want you to be locked up in the closet…grunt!…Hope you can forgive me.

That's OK Rio, we understand – hang in there, I'm really bored too no one will take me for a walk 'cause it's so cold!

Rio, my cousin pug Emma makes a lot of funny noises, sort of like you, but she goes snuffa, snuffa, snuffa a lot.

Finally!…someone put on a movie…grunt!…its with Edward Norton…we are big fans of Eddie here…mmmm…especially when he plays a bad guy. Its called 'The Painted Veil'!…and he is a cunningly evil doctor in this one!

To Virginia,
Thanks for the great pictures of your airedales. They are the best fur people around.
I miss mine dearly, and she died in 1997.
12:27 pm on February 7th, 2010
Scary!…gruff!… There is a ‘Virginia’ who keeps calling here…mmmm…but the weird part is she never leaves a message. So no one ever answers her calls. Irma, could you please tell Virginia to quit calling here. It’s kind of annoying.

Guys!…Are you watching the puppy bowl!!?…SNORT!..Jake the puppy pug is causing all kinds of madness and havoc! What a guy! I think the Kats! are next…

We only saw a bit of the first quarter in puppy bowl VI. That beagle Duncan was intercepting & tackling left and right! Too bad we missed Jake, just checked in and they have a new lineup again. How 'bout those cheerleading bunnies? I think they need some Gatorade or something!
1:33 pm on February 7th, 2010
We are watching the Puppy Bowl and lots of harrumphing and snorting is going on. We are sort of fixated on the Frenchie…
3:33 pm on February 7th, 2010
Puppy Bowl is great! The Newfs really like the water bowl cam. Had to laugh at the hamsters in the "eye in the sky".
To the game . . . Best commercial so far? The Dorito one where the member of the "nation within the nation" puts the anti-bark collar on the human and then barks! LOL
The Saints aren't doing too badly. Don't want to jinx anything. Have now turned on the tape so can watch the rest tomorrow.
By the way, Who would have known the Who were so OLD???
5:14 pm on February 7th, 2010
Agent Mel!… that was our favorite commercial too! right off the bat…snort!…Who'd a guessed about the Who?
5:14 pm on February 7th, 2010
Dear Rio,
I guess I have a strange sense of humor, but I really like it when you are grumpy. Just be the way you are guy. Staff likes to laugh and (don't be mad) when you get snorting angry she laughs a lot.
So enough with the apologies buddy. We cats can take it. You should hear Alice Johnson when she gets in a snit. I'm used to it.

OH, that is a picture of Alice Johnson using her mind melding technique to get food. It often works. And if it doesn't then she knocks things on the floor.

A-Kat!….Wow! Alice Johnson is a soul I can relate to. Grunt!…sometimes I pee on the floor when I don't get what I want, when I want it. Hey Alice!….
5:42 pm on February 7th, 2010
Geeze!…. I keep staring at Alice's picture and now I want to give her food!…gruff!…what's up with that???
(thanks A-Kat).

Hahahahaha Oh Rio!
Now you have me all excited and it is time for me to go to bed. I am going to be buzzed and it is all your fault. You are too funny my friend.
Have a good one all my furry friends, Cosmo, Mollypop (there's that song again) Commander Rio et al. Back to work for the staff tomorrow. We will check in late. Hope Spence doesn't sneak any pop quiz into the Monday post.
Tails up
