The Nation Within (Still More)
“You know Publicist?” says Admin.
“Of course,” says Spence. “I’ve even met her boyfriend’s parents.”
“Nantucket?”
“Yup. They seemed very nice.”
“But who doesn’t to you? You’re just like Chet that way.”
“Huh?”
“Never mind,” says Admin. “The point is, re the nation within, she sends along the following from Publishers Weekly.”
The American Pet Products Association estimates that in 2011, Americans will spend $50.84 billion on their 377.41 million pets, including birds, cats, dogs, horses, fish, reptiles, and other small animals. As has long been the case, cats are the most common pet (86.4 million in 38.9 million households), followed by dogs (78.2 million in 46.3 households), but dogs account for the vast majority of books about pets and animals.

Good morning.
That’s quite a few numbers so early in the day.
Hope everyone’s feeling tip top today.
Melanie: Those doctor’s, nurses, lab techs and others always seem to mess with Dan when he goes for help. What a bummer.
OleyHowlers: What a beautiful place you have. I hope your Mom’s tail bone feels a little better. From personal knowledge, those take awhile to heal. Also hope Sheik is doing fine.
Macy MinPin: Hope your mom is feeling better and that you are behaving yourself. Have your visitors gone home?
I’m traveling back home today, only to turn around tomorrow and come back this way and farther. The house and yard will have to wait.
8:48 am on September 20th, 2011
Macy: I was thinking about you last night. Are you going to put your painted gray rocks in the Musher’s Merchantile? Remembering your comment just made me laugh after a day of worry!
C.Harris: Leaves all ready on the ground. We are just beginning to turn here.
Dawson: Good Speed on your travels.
I’m glad that the PR Lady came up with the numbers. My brain needs a rest!
Right now I hear Patsy snoring (she’s been up with The Pack since 6:30 and then she come in around 7:30 and naps) and a flock of geese going overhead. Don’t know which is prettier.
9:48 am on September 20th, 2011
Multitudes!….Wow! There are more of us than I thought….snort!….More Kats than us won’t ever be a problem because they will never unite and become a force to reckon with…heh!….Heck, most of them are hiding under beds and in closets as I type….snort!heh!
Pillow!…Rebeccer said she has a pillow by the woodstove! I want to know who I have to gruffle with so that pillow will be mine for the duration of our visit….grunt!….Ahhh, I can see it now. Lying by the woodstove all snuggled into my warm soft pillow, Belle Starr just a few feet away gazing at me with her lovely big brown eyes…heh!… Alaska is going to be soooo much fun!….Wooooo!
10:03 am on September 20th, 2011
It surprises me that there are more cats than dogs. I suppose it’s because one sees more dogs outdoors.
It’s a lovely sunny day here and only the leaves on the tops of some trees have started turning. (October is my favorite month around here.)
Love the sound of geese overhead….great audio “image” Melanie!
Good morning all.
10:03 am on September 20th, 2011
Good morning all. Hope everyone is feeling tip top today, after all those health problems yesterday.
Beautiful day here. I did my early morning recoy or recon for that elusive ground squirrel that has take up residency near Barb’s big bird feeder. The little scamp has easy pickins there. Yesterday he ran into the rain downspout, so I had to chew it up a bit to convince him to run out, which he did not. We will see what today brings. Sooner or later he will mess up, and then he will be toast!
Did you know Barb took me to the V E T yesterday? They did some easy stuff, then they put a muzzle on me, not sure why, pinned me down on the floor, and cut my nails. I am nice as pie when Barb rubs my feet at home, but when they bring out those clippers, I turn into Cujo, at least that is what Jordan the vet tech calls me. Then after they were done with the abuse they tried to give me a treat. Yeah, right! Not so fast, amigo!
10:16 am on September 20th, 2011
Greetings All!
Hope everyone is tip-top this morning.
I think more people have kats than dogs because in comparison, kats are low maintenance.
Bear: The Prof and I love “Mad Men.” It is possibly the best show on television. 2012 is too long to wait for its return.
10:39 am on September 20th, 2011
Good Morning Everyone!
Rose, you are quite right about kats being low maintenance. You can rest easy when you leave home knowing there won’t be any partying going on…..
10:42 am on September 20th, 2011
Maggie: Did you really refuse the treat from the vet?
This is not really a SPOILER ALERT but it is about Dog Who:
I also loved the line in Chapter 23: “We passed the plumber coming the other way.” And this: “They remained silent. Humans have a right to remain silent. You hear a lot of talk about it in my job. No offense, but this is a right humans hardly ever take advantage of.”
Can’t stop laughing. Love it!!
10:44 am on September 20th, 2011
Friends of Chet this morning…Leonard Cohen Kirchner…hmm somehow have never pictured Leonard as a Poodle…..
10:50 am on September 20th, 2011
Bee, Yes, I refused. First I turned my head away, then I took it in my mouth and spit it on the floor. I can not be so easily bought, my dear!
Maybe by the time Jordan comes to house sit next week, I will forgive her. Barb is already forgiven.
10:55 am on September 20th, 2011
Dog-Who!… We had to stop right after something happened to Bernie’s car…..snort!…I can’t tell you why, It is forbidden – but not like the planet…heh!…Every time I go out to do my business I look up in the sky for falling Satellite debris ….grunt!…I want to know what my last thoughts are before I get creamed….sniff!
10:56 am on September 20th, 2011
Hi Masquers: That is one funny picture!
B: I laughed out loud when a read the second passage.
10:57 am on September 20th, 2011
Grrr… Should have been “when I read the second passage.”
10:59 am on September 20th, 2011
Maggie: Good for you! It’s like when I was little kid going to the doctor for shots….After you hurt me, you think a lollipop’s going to make me feel better….NOT!
11:28 am on September 20th, 2011
What a beautiful autumn day! Lots of leaves on the ground but those still on the trees have not put on their coats of many colors yet
SnowBella & Siber-H: We were laughing about your moderation comments last night. It is a strange business as Macy showed us when she so bravely ventured out into forbidden territory last night. One never knows what word will set Mr. Baker’s program off.
C.Harris: Brrrrr! 50 below! You, SnowBella & AJ are brave hearts indeed.
Rio: You have us concerned about this Satellite-falling debris business. When exactly is this supposed to happen?
Rose: Even if the wait is long, we know there will be a 5th season of Mad Men. I love seeing the contrast in life-styles between now and then.
Just started the series Breaking Bad – the pilot.
Maggie: I have been in the same position you described at the vet – muzzle and all. How dare those people think they can step back in our good graces so easily!
O.Howlers: How is your mom doing today? Ouch! and right before the big Family Reunion. This is very bad timing for an injury. Hope she is feeling tip top come the weekend.
Fellow Plunderers! We must take good care of ourselves! There have been too many reports of health problems within the pack.
11:34 am on September 20th, 2011
Bear!…. snort!…. Breaking Bad is my all time favorite show!….snort!….I’m so glad someone else is going to be brave and watch it….sniff!…It is not for the weak-hearted as you will find out as you get deeper and deeper into the story….grunt!…This season so far has been even better than I could imagine. I can’t bear the thought of the show ending, but of course it has to. The path the main characters are on cannot go on much longer….sob!sob!sob!
11:35 am on September 20th, 2011
Hi Bear: I especially like the writing and the acting on “Mad Men.” I also love how authentic the clothing is. And, if you’ve noticed, the Drapers lived in Westchester. Ossining (sp) to be exact. That is the town just south of where I live, and where the Prof teaches sometimes at the “Big House.” (Whispering) Not to mention I’m crushing on Jon Hamm…
I heard on the news last night that they cannot confirm when the satellite will fall. Could be any time over the weekend.
11:39 am on September 20th, 2011
Mad-Men!….Bear, what did you think of Ida Blankenship, Don’s older, wiser secretary?…heh!snort!
11:42 am on September 20th, 2011
Maggie: I’m sure you will have forgiven Jordan by next week once you realize that you have to get your nails clipped. If you don’t, nails could break off and it is very difficult to get the bleeding stopped in that area.
11:56 am on September 20th, 2011
Rio. I checked with my dad and he says the chances of a satellite fragment hitting you are infinitesimally small. Also, the paw detection disabling device we once activated on that mission at Spence’s home on the Cape can easily be reverse engineered into a falling satellite detection device that should keep you perfectly safe just in case. I will check with tech support for the specific details, but that should fully cover you. Wookie
12:00 pm on September 20th, 2011
Wheeeewwwww!…snort!
12:36 pm on September 20th, 2011
Mom says, just in case, that she’s going to wear her ski helmet outside this weekend.
12:38 pm on September 20th, 2011
Satellite!….Thank dawg the sky will not be falling on me!…snort!… We left a lot of useful equipment at Spencer’s house. Maybe one day we should organize a mission trip to collect it all…heh!
12:40 pm on September 20th, 2011
Molly!…They said one of the 26 pieces that will (maybe) hit the earth could be as heavy as 300 lbs…snort!…I don’t think a Ski Helmet will help much…sniff!…But it never hurts to be prepared.
12:48 pm on September 20th, 2011
Wookie: We can all rest easy knowing you and Siber-H are on the job. Personally, it is a huge relief to hear those odds. We don’t want to worry about the sky falling along with our other day to day concerns.
Rio: “older and wiser” (cough) that is a very kind way to describe her. What a character! As to Breaking Bad – we are watching it solely on your recommendation. Since you also like Mad Men, Damages and Justified – some of our favorites – you are obviously a connoisseur of good television.
1:04 pm on September 20th, 2011
My sister’s chickens thought the sky was falling when she put in my bean plants for them to eat. It took her awhile to coax them back out from the coop. (MagPie, tell Barb they loved them. One hen found a bean and the others gave chase)
Dog knows what they’ll do if pieces of the satellite come falling down.
That reminds me of the movie “The Truman Show”.
A friend forward this to me. Thought it was wonderful . . .

1:08 pm on September 20th, 2011
Mom totally agrees with Rose that dogs are much more work than cats and that is why there are more cats. How would mom know? She has never had a cat. I don’t know where mom gets off saying this anyway because I am not any work.
Speaking once again about Chet’s post (the money spent on dogs) my Yummie Chummies are suppose to arrive today.
1:11 pm on September 20th, 2011
Love that photo, Melanie!! It could win a prize somewhere.
1:24 pm on September 20th, 2011
TV!…Those shows you mentioned are the only good TV on these days…snort!…Except for Masterpiece Theater – which always comes on too late to watch…grunt!…I say watch it on Netflix!
1:25 pm on September 20th, 2011
Melanie, that is priceless. I am trying to figure out what he or she is thinking.
1:35 pm on September 20th, 2011
Melanie: One of the guys from MADison Ave, no doubt.
3:41 pm on September 20th, 2011
Mealnie: What a great photo!!
4:13 pm on September 20th, 2011
Here’s something else someone sent me. Get your tissues out and get ready to laugh and cry! Amazing story, amazing voice. . .

4:30 pm on September 20th, 2011
Maggie: one of my dogs needs to be muzzled at the vet. I probably don’t take her as often as I should because it is so upsetting to everyone. She also refuses to be bought with treats. You never know the background of a rescue dog. She refuses to let me touch her with a brush. Geez. I never know how hard to be on a dog. I take her to the lake so she will hop in, swim around and at least get a bath. Of course that will not be happening for the next eight months.
4:35 pm on September 20th, 2011
Is anyone else getting frustrated by the continuing delays of the hikers being held in Iran?
Sigh.
4:46 pm on September 20th, 2011
Yes, Wolfie, Yes I hope the hikers get out of there soon.
4:50 pm on September 20th, 2011
Hikers!…Why the hell did they go there in the first place is what I want to know…grunt!
5:30 pm on September 20th, 2011
Melanie: Thank you for the tissue warning – what a beautiful talented person. He is lucky to have such a wonderful mum.
Wolfie: We have been following the story. Nana’s nephew, who worked at the UN this summer, traveled all over the mid-east. It was a always a concern to her sister because of the political tensions in the area.
6:05 pm on September 20th, 2011
ARGGGG!
We have just finished Season 1: episode 5 of “Slings and Arrows”! Now I have to wait until tomorrow to watch the last one!!!! Luckily, we have Season 2 and 3 on DVD.
This is a great series. (might slip this upstairs and watch the last one tonight before bed, then pretend I haven’t watched it with Z + D tomorrow!)
6:28 pm on September 20th, 2011
Hello Plunderers!
We have been working hard all day, and Mom was off doing whatever it is she does all day. So this is our first chance to log in.
Maggie, ha ha! We love it that you said “Not so fast amigo” after they tried to get back on your good side. Those humans can hold grudges forever, but they expect us guys to forgive and forget immediately. Well, when its our family, o.k. But not the v e t and not the groomer.
Mom says that we Howlers are way low maintenance compared to Buddy and T.C. She thinks the reason there are more kats than dogs is because people who have kats tend to have multiples more often than those who have dogs. Don’t forget a lot of kats live outdoors. Not around here though, amigo !
Bear, our mom is hurting bad. She hates walking upstairs or bending over. But she is happy to be home with us.
6:33 pm on September 20th, 2011
C Harris, Barb here. Maggie was not a rescue dog, and has never had any issues, except first time I took her to the vet for nails, this giant man loomed over her as she backed into a corner. Then he proceeded to trim 3 of her nails so short that they bled (she has black nails, so it is hard to tell.) She actually limped for a day or two. That was it – she is wrecked forever. Yesterday was the first time she wasn’t sedated to do them. She is so terrified that she turns into a lunatic. Out in the waiting room she was laying on her back to get tummies.
BSD, Did you get your book? Got ours today! Barb was over the top.
What channel is Mad Men on?
6:36 pm on September 20th, 2011
Barb, you got your signed book? What did it say?
6:44 pm on September 20th, 2011
Hey, y’all! Mom says all this talk about crashing satellites made her think about the Northern Exposure episode where Maggie’s boyfriend Rick gets hit by a satellite.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMlq5IJ265M
7:07 pm on September 20th, 2011
Thanks Kirby! I forgot that one. Great to watch it. Rick crawled up on the roof. ha ha!
Mom loved Northern Exposure ! Best show on T.V.
7:15 pm on September 20th, 2011
OH: Hope your mom feels tip-top soon.
B&M: Mad Men is on AMC.
7:18 pm on September 20th, 2011
Rio: I would like to know what those hikers were doing there too!
Seems like there are much better places to hike right here in the good ol’ USA.
7:18 pm on September 20th, 2011
Oley, It said “To Barb, Thanks for the help on tin futures.” Spencer Quinn That is the 4th copy we bought. That one doesn’t get read, just sits on the book shelf. Then 1 copy is for reading and loaning out, and the other 2 for gifts.
7:19 pm on September 20th, 2011
Barb&Maggie: No book yet….was your dedication as hoped for?
Mad Men was on AMC, but won’t be on again until January. We watched the first 4 seasons on Netflix streaming video. Most likely also available on DVD if you don’t get streaming. I think you would really like it.
Kirby: Northern Exposure was another great series.
Maggie: The exact same thing happened to Bear with the nail clipping. His were cut so short they started bleeding. Understandably after that he was terrified of the procedure. Who knows how many of us have been traumatized by a careless vet or assistant.
O.Howlers: I hope there is something your mom can take for the pain. Be on your best behavior and give her lots of hugs.
7:36 pm on September 20th, 2011
Mom is worried about the weather on Saturday. Weatherkat, please check that out for her. If its raining, we have to fit 100 people in the 2nd floor of our barn!
7:38 pm on September 20th, 2011
That Maggie (not our Maggie) never had much luck with boyfriends.
I’m doing something for Wölfie . . .
The people who are doing the bumper sticker put the image on a long bumper sticker and showed it to Wolfie. Wolfie and I both think they would be better on a 3 X 4 sticker than the 3 X 8 sticker that distorts it.
Also they would be cheaper.
Wolfie would like everyone’s opinion.
Carpola, I was going to put the image up but it’s a pdf. Not sure if it’s going to work. . .
Nope . .
7:41 pm on September 20th, 2011
Buddy: I’m on it! Will be back soon with a Saturday report! Paws crossed.
7:43 pm on September 20th, 2011
Melanie, I vote for the one that you and Wolfie think is best.
Fellow Sibers, Hugs to your mom from me and I hope she heals quickly. Mom says that injury hurts.
7:45 pm on September 20th, 2011
Okay this might work

8:06 pm on September 20th, 2011
Melanie, Looks good to us. We will order some when ready. How will we do that?
8:12 pm on September 20th, 2011
That is Wolfie’s department. Oh the great blurring one has plans and I’ve forgotten them.
I have snuck upstairs with the “Slings and Arrows” DVD to watch the last episode of Season 1. Heh, heh, heh, as a certain Pugster would say.
So TTFN!
8:23 pm on September 20th, 2011
Melanie and Wolfie: Is that the three by eight? It does seem to be stretched.
8:23 pm on September 20th, 2011
Howlers/Buddy&TC: Here is the report – Sorry to say not the best.
Friday night the greatest chance of rain – 70%. On Saturday it’s 50% (same as tossing a coin in my opinion). So I would say hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Here is the 10 day >>>>>

8:28 pm on September 20th, 2011
Thanks Masquers. Mom is afraid the Reunion will be taking place in the barn. Carpola.
8:29 pm on September 20th, 2011
We vote for the 3×4. Seems it would most closely resemble our patch. Speaking of patch, has anyone attached your yet?
Mom says thanks for the sympathy. This injury is a pain in the b u t t ! heh heh. She is pretty grouchy.
8:30 pm on September 20th, 2011
trying again >>>>>

If Melanie and Patsy are heading upstairs it must be time for us too. She and the Newfs are our alarm clock so to speak. Besides… only a couple more chapters to go reading The Dog Who – Bear
9:08 pm on September 20th, 2011
Wheeze!….We are home from the Brutal Walk….snort!…We went early so we had time to sit out on the patio and read for a while…sniff!sneeze!….Ooooer my paws hurt. She says once I lose some weight my paws won’t hurt anymore…grunt!…I say once I stop walking up and down those damned hills my paws won’t hurt anymore…grump! …She says once I stop eating table scraps, jerky treats and Zingers my paws won’t hurt anymore….gruffle!…She always has the last word.
Stretched!….Don’t like the patch likeness stretched out like that. I vote for a shorter version….grunt!
9:11 pm on September 20th, 2011
OH, oh, oh, oh, oh . . .
I just finished the last episode of the first season of “Slings and Arrows”.
Excellent, excellent, excellent!
I have to sneak it back downstairs to watch it again with Dan and Zoë.
Now it’s really off to bed. TTFN
ps OleyHowlers: Tell mom to get one of those pillows with the hole in the middle to sit on. When one of us (not telling which one) broke the Coccyx bone that helped.
9:41 pm on September 20th, 2011
Good night all.
9:51 pm on September 20th, 2011
Melanie, Mom doesn’t have pain when she sits. Just when she stands or walks, and especially when climbing stairs. But thanks for the idea anyway.
10:02 pm on September 20th, 2011
Clarkson!…. Melanie how did Clarkson’s first day on the Indie Film go?…snort!… Did he find out what part he will be playing?…heh!…Melanie will not answer me tonight, but maybe if she reads this tomorrow morning after some coco she might remember to answer me…snuffle!…Tomorrow is Clarkson’s birthday!….wuffle!
10:07 pm on September 20th, 2011
Ouch!
A broken coccyx sounds like the ultimate pain in the rear. Mine was only bruised and it took forever to heal. Ouch, ouch, ouch.
Masquers: Loved the kitten with the jazz paws. So cute.
Melanie: That’s a great picture of a Newf…what is that Newfie doing anyways? This could be the cover of the counter surfing video. And, yes…thanks for the tissue warning…those lyrics fit that young man’s life so poignantly.
Kirby T: Great episode of Northern Exposure.
Oley Howlers: We will hope that the 50% is the half of the weather with the sunshine in it.
Tomorrow I will be leaving at first light to go south for a doctor’s appointment. I’ve been waiting for a long time for this ear nose throat specialist.
10:08 pm on September 20th, 2011
Project!…Okay Rose, just for you I will be giving out the time she spends working on this next project..snort!…If you want to keep track of it, go ahead. I probably will not…sniff!… So far: Sunday. 1 ½ hours. Monday: ½ hour. Tuesday (tonight): 1 hour….heh!…All that time and nothing really to show for it…grunt!
10:12 pm on September 20th, 2011
Oh great!
I’m being moderated.
Was it the “ultimate pain in the rear”?
The “ear, nose, throat specialist”?
The word “poignantly”?
What, tell me, what word was it?!
10:14 pm on September 20th, 2011
Wow, Rio! How do you remember all those dates? I’m not real good with numbers, and neither is Mom! Today she had to call an insurance company that keeps calling her cell phone and leaving messages for somebody else. She has told them three times already that it’s the wrong number, but yesterday they called yet again. So Mom called them back, and the lady asked her what cell phone number they were calling. Only Mom has to look it up everytime because she doesn’t know it — she says it’s because she doesn’t give it out to anyone, so she doesn’t have to remember it! And today she left her address book next to the computer, so she didn’t have it with her. But — miracle of miracles! — she remembered it after thinking a good, long while and making a complete idiot of herself with the lady on the phone. So the lady on the phone said she’ll take care of it. I hope she takes better care of it than those other three people did!!!
10:15 pm on September 20th, 2011
Pooh Hugh!
I’m being moderated.
Really? It’s McKey’s birthday tomorrow? Happy Birthday to our favorite actor!
I’ll be leaving at first light to go South for a doctor’s appointment.
10:45 pm on September 20th, 2011
Didn’t he just have a birthday??
OH – i hope your mum feels better soon. Standing and walking take up a lot of the day if they’re causing pain.
Hi everyone.
10:46 pm on September 20th, 2011
Kirby!…By dates do you mean Sunday, Monday, Tuesday Thursday Wednesday ….snort!… I know this from watching The Godfather….heh!
10:46 pm on September 20th, 2011
PS – i don’t think stretching the patch like that does it justice at all, definitely go for the shorter.
10:51 pm on September 20th, 2011
Liz!…I’m pretty sure Melanie said it was Sept. 21st…snort!…Now there’s a date to remember…heh…I think he just had one last year around the same time…snort!
10:51 pm on September 20th, 2011
Hey Dawson,
We just came home (at 9:30) and our books were here. And yes they were signed just as we requested!
Yipppeeeee!
gosh OHowlers Mom, I am really sorry about your sore butt just when you are having 100 people over! Gosh what a pain! Especially if you have to drag everything up to the top floor of the barn!
Pooh Hugh!
10:59 pm on September 20th, 2011
Staff’s new (old) Jones handcrank with the ‘coffin’ style cover.
I wonder if that will get past Mike Baker?
10:59 pm on September 20th, 2011
Staff!…Be nice!…heh!
10:59 pm on September 20th, 2011
Liz: Melanie just celebrated his birthday early — I think it’s because that’s when he and his fellow actors made a trip to the old homestead. But, unlike Rio, I forgot when his real birthday is!
Rio: I never saw that movie. The only time I “saw” that scene was when Mom was watching You’ve Got Mail and Tom Hanks recreates the “Sunday, Monday, Tuesday…” dialogue for Meg Ryan!
11:00 pm on September 20th, 2011
Jones!…Does that ole sewing machine even work?…grunt!
11:04 pm on September 20th, 2011
Kirby!…You are the first guy I ever met who has not seen The Godfather….snort!… I can picture that scene so clearly when the days are spoken in the wrong order…wuffle!….Gosh, what a great movie!…sniff!
11:04 pm on September 20th, 2011
Aaaah, thanks guys. (No doubt he had to make the trip home early because he would be in an indie film on the actual day!)
11:08 pm on September 20th, 2011
Hey Rio, It works nicely. Just for reference think mid 1890’s for age. I bet no sewing machine made recently will still be working almost 120 years later.
11:09 pm on September 20th, 2011
I have never seen the Godfather either. And don’t plan to. I am a wuss.
11:11 pm on September 20th, 2011
As soon as I heard about the horse head scene, I decided that that movie wasn’t for me! If they were that mean to a big, scary animal like that, what would they do to a little dog like me?

Rehearsal!…If I remember right, today was the first day of rehearsal for Clarkson on the Indie Film…chuffle!…Although, he was going into it cold because at the time (today) he did not know what character he was going to play….snort!…I bet he ‘wows’ the socks off those director types and he is given one of the main parts…snuffle!…Next stop Cannes Film Festival!…Woooo!

The sewing machine is beautiful, and would be even if it didn’t work.

Well, I’m gonna hang my head and go to bed. Sorry, Rio. I watch lots of manly man war movies with Dad, but The Godfather just has too many bad guys in it!!!
See y’all tomorrow — good night!!!

Late to the party again. After I leave for work tomorrow morning I won’t see AJ again until Saturday or Sunday. He’s head to southeast to pick up the dogs and bring them home!
Good night to anyone else who is left on the blog.

Later than everybody else, but here we are. Oh my dog, the Godfather I & II are fantastic movies!! We never saw III, but the character development in the 1st two was great. Some seriously bad guys who thought they could do whatever they needed to do to get what they wanted.
Rio, we remember Mollypop posted the other day about her mom checking the prices for airfare to Alaska. Wonder if she is thinking of making the Iditarod party….Dad is still mad he and mom won’t be able to go this year.
OH, that’s the way things are. People always get sick or hurt at the worst possible times. Loved the picture of your farm.
B., we were sure the “I’m thinking we should…” was grammatically correct. It just sounded funny. You are so precise when you “speak” and we thought you would say it “I think we should….” That just sounds more Stover like.
Happy B-Day, YSAS!! It’s after midnight so it’s on the correct day. Hope you have a great day.
We got our signed and paw-printed book today. Thank you, SQ!!

Good Morning and Happy Birthday on the Autumn Solstice to YSuccessfulAS!
My comments are still being moderated.
Make this day a wonderful one.
I can’t believe there is not a flight from here to Whitehorse. I did look at getting to the start of Iditarod but…I’d have to sell my first born.

Age – Muscles and bones age which can result in less
support for the back muscle’s. Likewise, where you have your computer monitor, the
height of your keyboard and your arm placement will cause neck and shoulder pain. Heavy lifting is one of
the most common causes of muscle strain or sprain of
back muscles.
