Good morning everyone! We love the B&B almost as much as the C&B.
Welcome to BooBear’s person’s favorite day.

    Good morning all.

Happy Friday, everyone! We are having beautiful spring weather here. Sunshine (finally) and moderate temps. Mom will be opening windows for us when she gets home from work.

Sad about the Iditarod (referencing Hobbit’s post yesterday). What is truly sad is that most mushers treat their dogs as family and will do without so the dogs have what they need. But there are always, in anything, bad apples in the barrel. And they get the media attention and spotlight.

Hobbit, are you really going to Russia? Also, is your walking tour group based in Fairbanks or everywhere?

Tonight is first full moon in March. The blue moon is the 31st like January. Planets Venus and Mercury should be bright too.

    Yikes!
Somehow March 1st came and went without me noticing. I do know it snowed all day and I have some shoveling to do this morning. I’d better flip the calendars over, too!

    Congratulations to the FOM Meco!

HOH: I don’t know how I posted a 5-star review on the Snowhook link but there it is so it couldn’t have been too hard, heh!

CHobbitz and HOH: It is sad to think the Hobbit Hotel will be Plunderless by lower 48er’s (or Canadians) this Iditarod season. I have toyed with the idea of getting the Insider but haven’t done it yet. I almost missed the whole Yukon Quest. It isn’t as exciting (nail biting) without our favorite musher in the race.

    Greetings!

    Finally Friday…Yay!

    A nice review!

There is mixed snow, rain, and ice in this neck of the woods, along with very strong wind gusts. Hopefully, we will not lose power. Grizz went in to his busy place, and was sent home by the owner.

RIO! Have you decided what baseball team you will root for? The Yankees played a spring training game yesterday. Although they lost, the team has a modern day “Murderers Row”…Batting second Aaron Judge, batting third Giancarlo Stanton, and in the clean-up spot Gary Sanchez! I am hoping that the Yankees will be playing baseball in October!

    Create a good day!

    What!?
I just clued in that the Iditarod starts tomorrow! So I did subscribe, although when I will have the time to watch I do not know. I am busy hosting the Crafter’s club at the Senior’s centre tomorrow but I should be able to watch the re-start on Sunday. I guess I will root for the Canadians, the Montanans and, of course, Aliy Zirkle! Oh, and the Norwegians, the rookies and all the women!
Go Snowhook! (I couldn’t help it.)

Yes, things aren’t as exciting without our Snowhook musher or doggies in the race. But it was almost as exciting as us rallying tp help when Justin asked for reviews. There are now nine 5-Star reviews and the negative review from the guy in Spain who never met Snowhook is gone. Go Snowhook! 5-Star all the way!

Being without guests, which feels weird, I am taking off to Fairbanks Sat-Mon. Of course, at 5:00 yesterday I received two very pregnant cats into my care. My Housesitter is good but I have a kitty-midwife on call if needed. Cats are mother and daughter from a heroin addict’s home 4-hours away. I am surprised they didn’t go into labor from the drive. 5 kitties were crammed into two carriers. One pregnant cat in a small hamster carrier where she couldn’t move. The mother cat has had 10 litters and the daughter has anxiety issues and ate her first litter. The other three cats went to other fosters.
Don’t worry, if the Iditarod gets boring, I will keep you on pins and needles updating you about kittens.

Review! Dawson, If you can do it Nana can too! She says it will be Today’s Priority.
So Happy to Hear the negative review was removed.

CHobbitz: Since Snowhook will not be racing this year we have decided not to renew our Subscription to the Insider. But do plan to watch the TV coverage tomorrow and Sunday…which is free.
All the Controversy surrounding the Iditarod these past months has us fearful of the Future of the Race.
And, the Hobbit Hotel with no Plunderer Guests is just too sad to contemplate.

Sadie Bear! Two Beds? You are a Winner for sure!

I will probably subscribe to the Insider again, of course assuming we ever get power back on here in Chevy Chase. We left this morning for our morning walk with Teddy and came home to discover the power had gone out while we were gone. It’s extremely windy here now (gusts to over 50 mph). PEPCO says they are working on it, but it is almost 4 hours now and still without power.

Boo Bear: I use Walking Adventures International. It is a family-owned business headquartered in Vancouver, WA. They have national and international trips but trips are only offered once a year to a location or every other year. Tours have 22-30 people.
Overseas Abventure Travels has a lot more trips with multiple departures. No single supplement if traveling alone. Tours have 15-20 people.
There are a couple of other good tour companies I could also recommend

Be safe, those in windy areas.
I see the sun trying to peek out beyond the snow flurries.

Hobbitz: The cat-didarod is fascinating. Also, Go Sadie!
