How funny! Just read that article on Yahoo News, and then flipped over here to see it again. Poor Reggie, he tried to eat the second project too. Guess he didn’t see the connection. No surprise there!
Morning everyone.
9:01 am on November 22nd, 2013
Good morning all.
9:15 am on November 22nd, 2013
Good morning, everyone! Perhaps school projects and
Reggie should be kept in seperate rooms. Hope all under the quilt feel better and Rebecca gets home soon.
Don’t fritter away Friday but do have fun.

Still not tip top. Need to go with Zoe to the dentist. She’s having a tooth out.
Hi Dawson! See at the dentist.
Why I wasn’t well? My own fault. Jeeze Louise, sometimes I don’t think my brain is connected to my body at all.
Good morning all.

I don’t know why but today’s post reminds me of the time Brandy ate an entire sour cream coffee cake. (It’s the one I put in Dishlickers.) His middle section was completely bloated. I didn’t have to take him to the vet but took him out to run.
10:01 am on November 22nd, 2013
One time I ate a fresh-from-the-oven yellow cake. It was the one to be served as part of the desserts on Christmas Day. Mom had to make a quickie old box cake she had in the pantry to replace it, because her neices look forward to cutting that cake every year.
I did not get sick. And it was the only time in this entire life (here on the farm) that I did anything bad.
10:09 am on November 22nd, 2013
I do bad stuff like that all the time. I am incorrigible when it comes to counter surfing. Last night I had an especially good move – Barb very nicely cooked the liver, gizzard and neck in broth to put over my kibble. After she chopped everything up and pealed the meat off the neck, she put the scraps in a plastic bag in the sink. I grabbed the bag and took off for her bedroom. By the time she found me everything was gone. Delish, I must say!

MagPie, good work! I’m so jealous.
Rio, I know for a fact that Wose knows for a fact that you have been videoed.
10:21 am on November 22nd, 2013
Sammy, since you are height challenged you probably can not reach the sink.
When Barb calls me a bad girl after one of my recons, I just glaze over and wag my tail.
10:25 am on November 22nd, 2013
Mom says Kahlua of the original HOH was a serious counter surfer. She was so goo she didn’t get caught, but she did leave footprints behind.
10:26 am on November 22nd, 2013
GAH!!! Good, not goo.
10:41 am on November 22nd, 2013
Everyone knows that Kats are the Most Supreme Counter Surfers ever. Not only do we not get caught – we don’t even care if we do. When yelled at, we merely squeeze our eyes into a haughty gaze, and gracefully leap down because we were planning to – NOT because we were told to.
10:45 am on November 22nd, 2013
The next time our mom says she is doing a major project (like wall washing or curtains or???), would someone on this here blog reach through the computer and smack some sense into her? Today’s score: Curtains 1 mom 0

The Brussels sprouts were excellent. Here is what we did:
parboiled the sprouts for 6 – 8 minutes, drained
cooked 2 pieces of bacon, drained on paper towel and crumbled
added a little butter to pan drippings
added shallots and red onion, sauted till soft
added 2 part red cider vinegar to 1 part brown sugar
added sprouts and dried cranberries & cooked a few minutes till sauce was reduced
topped with crumbled bacon and served

A long while ago Zoë and the Raven had a St. Bernard. He ate my sister’s sock.
And the great Ellie decided to take her pills not only with peanut butter but with the spoon.
Both had to be operated on to remove the objects.
We still have Ellie’s x-ray and the spoon. I have told Zoë we should put them on e bay. She just looks at me.
10:59 am on November 22nd, 2013
One of my predecessors, Bubba, was the best counter/table surfer ever. He stole food out right in front of the 2-leggeds. In fact, they tell me of the time Pop was taking a left-over half of a ham steak from the platter to wrap up for the next day. Bubba jumped up and took it right off Pop’s fork, and rand with it down to the cellar.
Me? I just do not have the nerve for that kind of stuff. I wish I did.
10:59 am on November 22nd, 2013
Why? Just tell me why?
11:16 am on November 22nd, 2013
Melanie, to keep their ears and heads warm?
Happy Friday, everyone!!
11:19 am on November 22nd, 2013
Melanie: Because people are ridiculous.
11:20 am on November 22nd, 2013
Those poor guys…the ‘rents better not even think about it. Although, they have been known to put antlers on their horses.
Maggie! Tell Barb that a 2nd and a 3rd chicken laid eggs this morning!!!! And the first one is laying now, and a 4th just climbed into a vacated nest box, so we are hoping for 4 today !!!
11:30 am on November 22nd, 2013
OH: Mom told the Daddy Dawg that y’all have 3 or 4 chickens laying. He asked, “Can’t they stand them up?” ha, ha, ha a laugh riot 🙂
HRH B: We agree, 2 leggers are ridiculous.
12:03 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Oleys, That is so exciting! Those little eggs are like prized gifts aren’t they? I wonder if the first one encouraged the others. Did you give the girls any pumpkins? If you cut them open they will eat the inside, seeds and all. Then their yolks are really orange!
Barb used to drive around town and pick up a few that people put out for trash pickup. Just the whole ones, not jack-o-lanterns. Then she would save them and give our chickens one at a time. They loved them.
12:15 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Barb, They did give them pumpkins! Pop even got the big pumpkins his work cafeteria had out on counters for decorations! The Girls loved them.
We got 4 eggs today now: Black Australorp, Buff Orpington, Rhode Island Red, and Plymouth Rock. Most of them are small, but the Plymouth Rock’s very first egg is HUGE !
12:59 pm on November 22nd, 2013
HOH,umm…Your Daddy Dog and my dad would probably get along great together.
Greetings All
I am still waiting for Snow, but it is cold and cloudy here.
1:23 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Ow ow ow!

heh heh heh!

Mom just hired a cleaning woman who loves me me me!
On Sunday she is going to interview a farm sitter. I will be the judge.
1:58 pm on November 22nd, 2013
No doubt about it, that one had to hurt! Are they all laying in different nests or picking the same one? Glad Pops got the pumpkins for them. One of Barb’s city friends thought there was something wrong with our eggs because the yolks weren’t pale yellow. Another one thought the Americauna’s green egg was
“moldy” so she tossed it out. Duh!
Reading a fun little Christmas season book called The Snow Globe.
Finished Comfort & Joy yesterday and would recommend that one too.
2:13 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Chickens!…The Plymouth Rock Red sounds like an over-achiever…chorkel!
2:14 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Fern, the first one to lay eggs, picks a different box every couple of days. Isabel, Kathryn, and Cleida Viola picked one that she never picked. All 3 of those used the same box. Fern and Kathryn were in their separate boxes laying at the same time.
Today is a sad day. There is so much on the news about the horrific events of 1963. We will be pausing at 2:30 EST (that is 12:30 CST, right?) to remember.
2:14 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Barb – there is a movie on the Hallmark channel by the same name. It is sweet.
We kinda have to feel sorry for that chicken. We both had puppies, and we can’t even begin to think of doing THAT every day.
Lots and lots of cooking going on here in preparation for the big dinner on Sunday. We even found some whole, peeled and roasted chestnuts to use in the stuffing. Yippee!
2:34 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Howlers, 2:30 EST would be 1:30 CST if you guys are in the Central Time Zone.
2:36 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Thanks, Siber. So we blew it then. 1:30 our time would have been the moment of Silence.
2:36 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Mom was telling us about 50 years ago to. That sounds like a lot. She remembers, we can’t imagine. Love the chicken stories. OH, whatever you do, DO NOT give her a goose egg (a 1 egg omelet for 2). Wow! Mom hired a cleaning person too. Are they twins?
3:07 pm on November 22nd, 2013
We don’t understand the goose egg, HOH.
Twins!!!! Now if only Mom can find a farm sitter.
3:09 pm on November 22nd, 2013
OH: If your friend thinks a green egg from an irucana(americana) is moldy, what would she think of a giant egg with a strong yolk?
4:37 pm on November 22nd, 2013
HOH, That was Barb’s friend that thought the egg was moldy.
Yes, I think everyone who was around in 1963 can remember where they were at that particular moment. We will probably never know for sure if it really was Oswald acting alone, or if there was a second shooter. 61% of Americans do not think he carried it off by himself. Maybe we would have learned more if not for Jack Ruby.
5:16 pm on November 22nd, 2013
The truth is out there. It will come out someday. Meanwhile we have our own theory…..
5:28 pm on November 22nd, 2013
T&G, What is your theory?
5:31 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Theories on the JFK asasination is not politics, it is history. Discuss away!
5:46 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Zoë and I were just remembering where we were. Sigh.
She is doing fine, though she tends to dribble a bit. The dentist had told her that it would be a very difficult extraction, it wasn’t. Whew.
Dawson are you dribbling?
B.Stover! Spodder soup was greatly enjoyed tonight.
A pecking order has been implemented. Fern, and then everyone else.
6:03 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Being down and out, Zoë and I have watched two very good series.
We have finished “Above Suspicion” and are now waiting a year for the next season. Excellent
Acorn TV
“The Bletchley Circle”, and waiting for the next season. Excellent Netflix streaming
And tonight we have just started “Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries”. We had watched a This is a new series and so far is excellent. Netflix Streaming.
What’s nice about starting this series is it’s THIRTEEN segments long!
6:13 pm on November 22nd, 2013
T & G, Barb has watched the Lifetime movie by the same name. It is not the same story, however. Both movie and book are good, just different.
T & G we would like to hear your theory too. If you think it is appropriate to put on the blog we would like for you to share.
We have often thought that Oswald was too much of a looser for some big outfit like the Mafia or the CIA to hire him. Why not use their own top notch marksmen? Unless Oswald was used as a patsy.
6:29 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Did anyone watch Elementary last night? It was very, very good. Mom watched it twice!
6:52 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Hi Everyone!
Yes, today is the 50 year commemoration of the JFK assassination.
A very sad day in history.
BooBear: You watched Elementary twice? Must have been very good.
And, Melanie, the mystery series you and Zoe are watching sounds really good too.
Still trying to get the new Kindle Fire HDX set up with all the apps. Hence the late posting today.
B&M: Bear says he doesn’t like brussel sprouts, but your recipe sounds delis. Can you put it on Dish?
Howlers: The green eggs will be purrfect for St. Paddy’s Day.
7:16 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Melanie: I am not dribbling. No freezing was required at the dentist. He was only
covering his a$$ making sure his previous work had not caused any infection. I do not like that man, however, he is young(a jerk)and hopefully will learnmannersas he gains more life experience.I am going out tonight for the Northern version of Black Friday, in which we run around from store to store getting “passports stamped” after which they are entered into a drawing for a huge basket of prizes. My s i l insisted I go. ((sigh)) I’m freezing cold already and in a bad enough mood to rival the pugs. Can’t wait to get home to my nice warm bed with all the pillows in their proper places and the heating pad on high. Grump.
7:16 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Carpola!
7:22 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Dawson: you crack us up. Masquers and B&M: we always thought the right handed rifle and the left handed Oswald were a big question mark. Zoe, dribbling after the dentist just proves you love you Pack.
7:24 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Well, that’s all for me folks!
TTFN
7:26 pm on November 22nd, 2013

Video!…Beaus video is almost done!…heh!heh!…It must have stopped loading at some point last night even though the computer was left on…grunt!….This thing must be way too long and boring…guffle!
7:27 pm on November 22nd, 2013
See!…I just missed Melanie by the hair at the end of my tail again….grump!
7:50 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Rio: if it wasn’t for bad luck, you wouldn’t have no luck! Heh, heh, heh.
7:59 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Sammie!…I have no recollection about that which you claim is true…sniff!grunt!
8:05 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Where is Wose to back me up?
8:06 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Melanie. You will love the Miss Fisher mystery series. It is extremely well done.
8:14 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Macy’s Mom: Hope you are better today. Glad you got Rx stuff from the vet but we are still concerned. Stay under the quilt but peek in to here once in a while.
8:24 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Fisher!…So what’s this Miss Fisher mystery series about?…sniff!sniff!…If Teddy’s Maw and Paw like it I’m pretty sure me and my friend will like it too…snort!
8:27 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Elementary!…We are watching the latest Elementary right now…snort!…The actor playing the “bad” guy is most excellent at being very creepy and scary…wheeze!
8:35 pm on November 22nd, 2013
I saw a video of Rio also.
8:47 pm on November 22nd, 2013
The dentist trip was fine. Just a cleaning which Staff had no trouble with.
Congrats on the eggs O’Howlwers.
Macy. How is you?
I have seen a video of you Rio. Nyah nyah…
8:47 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Aha!
9:05 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Conspiracy!….grunt!
9:17 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Riö: We here agree. If Wookie’s & the Ruff Rider’s Paw likes the Miss Fisher Mysteries and Melanie and Zoe give the paws up too, the series must be good.
Winding down here at a very early hour. Off to play with the new tablet. See youse mañana.
9:19 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Maskers!…Great minds think alike…snort!…Except no one is telling me what that Miss Fisher series is all about…grunt!
9:20 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Good night Masquers, sleep well. You, too, Rio.
We are going to go watch some tv and will be calling it a night.
9:30 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Ah, baby Darah has grown way up. Today has found her big girl voice and won’t quit HONKING. How is a beautiful blonde like me (Pookey) to get her beauty rest? Oh, and the basement is no longer a puppy free zone. Yes, that is right. the 10 1/2 month old baby Huey goes down stairs on her own.
what hath god wrot?
9:39 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Sorry not to answer sooner, but we were holding Mama’s feet down while she was at her work table.
Anyway – our theory is neither unique nor provable. But the day of the shooting, Mama remembers coming home from school and asking “Why did Lyndon Johnson kill President Kennedy?”. Everyone rushed to assure her that that wasn’t what happened, but she just knew. And to this day, that is what she believes.
She has read a lot about the “magic bullet” theory and is sure that there was more than one shooter and all that, but she just feels that the brains and the money behind it all were LBJ
Anyway – someday the truth will come out. Someday.
9:49 pm on November 22nd, 2013
T&G’s Mama: Our mom knew there was a reason she liked you 🙂
9:50 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Oh, wow, pumpkin hour. Just for Rio we will say it…Nighty night.
10:01 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Lying!….B. Johnson…grunt!…We here believe he was the one behind the whole nasty affair too…sniff!…One day everyone will know. But he was a horrible man. A nasty mean man….gah!spit!
Beau!….Speaking of nasty, this boring video is Rated R because of the lengthy shots of Beau’s big walnut shaped butthole…grunt!….She said she tried to lower the so-called kamera when she realized he had his R Rated rear end facing her as she was allegedly filming him….gah!….So watch at your own discretion and please do not let little puppies or children view this nasty stuff…sniff!

My mama is waiting to see if her flight home is going to be cancelled. In the mean time, I can honestly say I’ve never tried homework—-it sounds delish—but I’ve had two surgeries to clear out the contents of my stomach that included window screens, two garage door openers, a broom complete with bristles, a fishing rod plus line, and electrical wiring. Shortly after my second surgery I was returned back to the kennel. I was born to run.
If my mama’s flight gets delayed again maybe she’ll tell youse all about the time Luna had pink sparkles exiting from both ends of her canine.
10:42 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Elim!…Don’t they feed you real food at that there kennel…gasp!…What the hell dude?…snort!
10:48 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Awwww – Beau has a little red woobie to play with.
Elim – all we can do is shake our heads.
10:51 pm on November 22nd, 2013
OMD Elim, My mom is just setting here with her mouth hanging open.
10:58 pm on November 22nd, 2013

We are going to watch Beau’s video tomorrow.
Rebecca, We hope you make it home soon and have a safe journey.
Elim, My mom hasn’t recovered from this yet.
Night All
11:08 pm on November 22nd, 2013
SiberH!….It is best to brace yourself before viewing Beau’s really boring mostly butt video…heh!heh!
11:15 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Rio: That all happened during my formative months when I lived somewhere else.
11:16 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Yeek!
Keep the harnesses away from Elim!
Rio: Thanks for the warning on Beau’s X-rated video. He’s really given-er on that duckie. I learned his cute little nick name: Bobo, although he only seems to respond to that if he feels like it.
Thank dog the shopping night is over for another year and we went early enough that for the most part we avoided the crowds. My heat padded bed is calling my name.
11:22 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Goodnight all. Goodnight Beau. You have a big ol’ b***hole that is for sure. sniff. Well no, no sniffing here. heh heh heh.
11:23 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Nature!…Dawson you have described a pug’s nature very well. she cut out over a minute of beau lying there ignoring her completely and obviously…grunt!
11:38 pm on November 22nd, 2013
Dawson: I prefer booties to harnesses, but I won’t turn my nose up to either.
CHH is on her vacation. I am to let youse all know that she forgot her Ipaw so all she has is her little go-phone. We may not see her on this here blog until she returns.
1:20 am on November 23rd, 2013
Hives: day 500. Just when one pesky bunch quiets down, a new rowdy team takes the field. Luckily the combo of meds today kept me asleep until. 3 pm
Barb, I forgot to mentio that we were just a few blocks from where JFK spent his last night.
