Taxation Without Representation Is Tiramisu

“Not sure where you’re going with this,” Spence says.

“You don’t follow what’s happening in Europe?” says Admin. “As a bailout condition they’re trying to make it so the fiscal policies of individual nations will be dictated by central control, meaning individual nations won’t really be setting their own budgets. And the people don’t get to vote on it! The new economic order – where’s Orwell when we need him?”

Welcome Florida beach-lover. And the new economic order makes Pearl sleepy.

    Good Morning,
Working again today, but the computer is idle and I’m sneaking in to remind everyone
to VOTE. Hope things are going well for Dan and his gang. B. congratulations on your
retirement. Once you do it, you’ll wonder when you ever found time to work. I retired 18 years ago and am still busier than I ever was.

    Thank you TYB.

If we had the party at the Florida condo we could have it at the clubhouse with heated pool and jacuzzi. (Of course, no snow is available. Here in Michigan we have three inches.) How about Saturday the 17th?

My favorite movie version of Christmas Carol is the Alistair Sim version but the George C. Scott version is excellent also.

Hope T&G’s mom is feeling better. How is Dan doing today Melanie?

Pear is growing like crazy. Play hard, sleep hard; that’s what they do.

Barb is off to Monroe, WI. for her last follow-up appointments at Monroe Hospital and Clinic. 3 quick visits, then she is done. She is thinking about stopping at Pancho and Lefty’s for a little lunch. She doesn’t like to go out to eat alone, but she has Robbie Forrester to take along. She is already half finished, so she will be winding up tomorrow and sending it on the Wookie. She got it yesterday, so obviously, she hasn’t been able to put it down. 11-22 took a back seat for now. BBL – this afternoon.

Order!….This New Economic Order is seriously scary crap!….grump!…But 12-21-2012 is right around the corner so I guess we shouldn’t worry about it too much….grunt!

Dis-order!….sniff!….Remember the blood test that my friend had done and they sent it in for the WRONG test?….grumble! ….Well, the doctor’s office finally got back to her about it. Maybe because she left them a grouchy message last week about not fasting for the test because it was not supposed to be done until next February and the fact that she would have to pay for it because of the lab techs mistake (even after she told him not to do “that” test)….grump! ….Well, now she is supposed to Stop taking the expensive medicine she bought and take the test in February after fasting…..snort!…Is someone totally pissed off this morning? …Yup!

    Greetings All:

The Prof’s favorite version of A Christmas Carol is the Alistair Sim one as well. That was a Christmas gift for him last year.

Pearl is growing up to be a fine young girl, and boy, she’s the cutest!

Rebecca: Luna showed Belle and me the error of our shopping ways. We will be having pork chops for lunch, and then the girls will be blurring…They are always welcome here! Belle is very good at reminding me to take the keys out of the lock.

Rio: Belle slept with your picture under her pillow. She commented on “what a hunk o’ burning pug” you are. I think she needs her own copy. I will be checking her pink, sparkly, backpack before she leaves, asI love the picture as much as she does!!!!

Cave of Forgotten Dreams was a beautiful movie. We would have liked to have seen it on the big screen in 3-D.

Melanie: Did you take your “chicken soup” prescription today?

Royal Mum: Get some much needed rest from CLL. The acupuncture tomorrow will do the trick.

Post Office says media mail not an option. Didn’t think so, but thought it was worth a try. As soon as we have the package dimensions we’ll get you a price. May be just as cost effective to leave packages as is rather than repacking.

  31. BearSpiritDog
    1:14 pm on December 6th, 2011

A size estimate? Can your friend ask her mother to measure the length, height, & width? If not, she can do it when she gets home tonight and let us know then. Don’t think repackaging is going to save any money. The little flat rate boxes are so teeny they’re not good for anything bigger than a veru small paperback book…the medium ones are an odd shape and the large cost almost $15 to send. The flat rate boxes are more useful when one is more concerned with the weight of the package adding to shipping costs.

  32. BearSpiritDog

Rio! No need to repackage! Flat mail rates are about the same or more. Sending Priority Mail is less than a dollar difference from regular parcel post. The package arrives in 2 days vs a week with the added benefit of Delivery confirmation and tracking. You’re looking at about $7+ to $9+ per package. Hoping this information is helpful & accurate.

    2:52 pm on December 6th, 2011

Rio: Thank you for your concern over shipping costs, but I am more worried about the initial cost on your end. Mom says we can mail you a check now to cover this. As Siber said yesterday…please don’t stress. Remember – you are sending out little packages that were made with love and will bring joy to the recipients.

  40. Wolfie Wigglebutt
    2:55 pm on December 6th, 2011

UPS is significantly more expensive than the USPS, Rio.

  41. BearSpiritDog
    3:06 pm on December 6th, 2011

Rio: You are correct that, in addition to weight, it does make a difference where the package is going. That was factored into the price. We are talking about the United States Post Office here, not United Parcel, which is more costly unless you have an account with them. As for the flat rate boxes…the large one costs more than regular priority mail and the medium one about the same. As I mentioned previously, they are good to use when you are concerned about weight.

  42. Siber-H
    3:09 pm on December 6th, 2011

Rio, I really do think you should send us a bill for postage. I wondered about postage on some of the items that were in the auctions or purchased in the Christmas store and thought postage should have been added to their cost.

Grunt!….When someone gets home tonight I will find out if she can use the Flat-Rate boxes or not….snort!… She will decide if she wants to re-package everything or not….sniff!… I hope she is leaning towards NOT repacking because it gets very stressful trying to keep Beau away from all the stuff that I want to see first….gruffle!

Rio: Don’t even try to re-wrap my box. Those pre-paid boxes don’t go across the border. Besides, I won’t have to buy any bubble wrap for ages! Please do let me know what the postage is going to be and I will send you a check pronto.

News flashes for everyone – Melanie sounds AWFUL with her cold. She told Mama it is “just” a cold, but it is absolutely from the 7th circle of h e l l .
Zoe was too tired to make the trip to the hospital, and last we heard, the docs had’t called her to give her any updates on Dan the Man. (Mama told her the docs hardly ever call until after 5, so it could be anytime now)

Mama went to the Miracle Needle Man, and he did his magic. She can actually stand up straight and walked up and down the stairs like a normal person. But (oh woe is me) she isn’t going back to CLL at all this week. Dad called the CL and told her that Mama was ordered 5 days of bedrest and muscle relaxer pills and that she was WAY too goofy to talk, never mind drive.
The acupunturist did say that she had done a lot more damage than she realized, and he scheduled another appointment for her for tomorrow. That way she will be ready for the show THIS weekend. (shhhhh, no one tell the CL!)

Siber and Barb – just checking in to see about the efficiency of the post offices in your areas.

Well, ummm, you know about the postal service in NM. They can be slow but they eventually get everything here. The snowstorm will give them an excuse to be even slower. The really big snowstorm we had around 5 or 6 years ago…we didn’t get any mail delivered for a week.

Barb wants to report that she got a very good report from her tests today. One was just a simple bone density, and she is fine there. The one she was concerned about was the chest x-ray, since she had not one before, and that is a common spot for breast cancer to travel to. Everything was fine, so she did treat herself to a fine Texmex lunch and a N.A. beer at her favorite Monroe place on the square. Yum!

Amalia, The package arrived today in the mail, and the dream- catcher is beautiful. Granddaughter is going to love it, and it is so feminine with the butterflies. Thank you, will get a check off tomorrow. Hope you feel better.

Dawson!….Still no complete word from Dawson?…snort!….This is terrible. We may only get single letters from her until the A-Team finds and Recues her and that priceless luggage…grunt!

Rio – Mama says thanks for your concern. She is doing very well after her date with the needle man. It is still amazing to her that a bunch of little needles can take away such pain.
She is still seeing him again tomorrow for extra “insurance” against any further pain before this weekends show. But at least she doesn’t have to deal with CL (thanks to Dad). So she can take her time and get ready for the show without racing around like crazy. Thats good since this is another 4 am set up.
Her new favorite joke – Why do artists do shows?
We’re all here cuz we’re not all there.

Mama wants to know how your friend is still liking that place that she works at. (geez – Bee will have a kitten when she sees THAT sentance tomorrow)

Goodness. Istarted reading where I had left off this morning and then had to skip to the end. I wonder what the T meant. Going back to read the rest of the blog. Poor Dawson. $15 + 7 isn’t going to go very far. I don’t think she took any books along either.

I wonder if she has the cord for her laptop available. If she can’t talk to us WHAT WILL SHE DO?

I hope the T meant “The plane is loading and I have to leave NOW!”

I would think if she had to hurry to the gate she would not be able to type any more.

Oh NO! I hope this isn’t all a deliberate attempt on the quilt! Those &$%$#&* goats.

T&G I am glad your back is better and Melanie, my Mom had that cold and gave it to Dawson but she got rid of it and Dad and I were OK. It is very nasty and I hope you are drinking plenty of fluids and getting your rest, although how you can get your rest when you are in charge of 9 Newfs I don’t know. 2 cats keep me busy.

Losers!….We are actually watching The Biggest Loser on prime time tv just because we cannot wait to see who wins this thing this year…heh!….Although, there is no way in H e l l she is going to be able to stay up till 10:00pm, so we will be re-watching to see who really wins it…snort!…SO NO TELLING US PLEASE!!!!! No matter What!…wheeze!….It will be a big surprise if we do not find out early…wuffle!

Staff!…And the Kats have not heard from Dawson either…grunt!…This is getting serious. What in the world was she trying to tell us with the single letter “T”…sneeze!…”Time to Take-off” …possibly?

Busy-Place!…Tell Golinka the busy-place is still the place she goes when she is not here…snort!…I’m not sure if she likes it or not. She seems bored to distraction with it all during the not-so-busy time at the busy-place…grunt!….Don’t ask me, I’ve never been there before…wuffle!

Oh dear. Staff has been thinking about it and she is thinking that if they took Dawson’s luggage off then called her quickly to the plane then the luggage will be left behind!!!

Maybe they called her to a second plane for some reason? It wasn’t the plane that was the problem though, it was ice on the home runway….mutter mutter mutter..goats.

What on earth could Dawson’s “T” possibly stand for?

    Thunderstorms?

    Terrible weather?

    Thistledown?

Okay, so maybe not thistledown. That makes no sense.

Must be a code for something Terrible! It’s a good thing that the girls are on their way!

I’m home, thank dogs. What did that “T” mean? Good question. I don’t remember posting a “T”. Maybe that was when I thought I saw a couple goats on the tarmac followed closely by a pack of doggies. They all sped by so fast I wasn’t sure if they were real or a hallucination from eating so much free junk food.

Evening all. We received a message from Luna and Belle Starr stating: SOS! Dawson is unaccounted for. Goats believed to be behind master plan to get grape flavored quilt and the fan. Saddle up the huskies and meet us at the airport. Oh, can we borrow a couple of dollars?

We howled our response back and sixteen of us blurred to the airport. Those TSA agents are thorough with their pat downs let me tell you—most of us prefer tummies or ear scratches though. There is no sign of Dawson, but we visited the Cinnabon while we regrouped. Still no sign just a voucher on the ground and an alphabet missing the letter ‘t.’

    The search continues. …

Oh…I just missed Abby…I bet she misses the quilt. I wanted to say that the quilt and the Spanish Fan both survived the trip in pristine condition.

Whew! It looks like Dawson rescues herself. It must have been when we were held up in security. Or was it the cinnabon? We did meet Siber-h in some Lon line for something.

P.S. Whitey-Lance is better at loosing than finding by he was happy to come along.

    Welcome home, Dawson.

B&M: I’ve read the fist two chapters. After reading all the blurbs, and just seeing the word tissue and Kleenex, I wish I had lots of stock in Kleenex….
