Super Bowl

Broncos versus Seahawks? Aren’t Broncos a kind of horse? And Seahawks a kind of bird? Uh-oh.

Welcome Fonzie.

We cannot possibly choose between a horse and a bird. Mom would be mad at us either way. So therefore…

    Good morning everyone!

Hmm, horses and birds. Poor Chet. He doesn’t like either one.

And on his Blog, some people will be happy no matter who wins!

Good morning all. Wish I could send this cold wave coming at us up to Alaska.

Good morning, everyone! Mmm…wings, horses…does this mean a Pegasus will appear. Wow, definitely classier than most bowls. And to think, the Groundhog Bowl is less than 2 weeks away.
Let’s throw caution to the wind and have a marauding Monday 🙂

Another polar vortex is on the way!
    MLK Day.

Mom says she has been in both Denver and Seattle, each for a very beautiful, momentous event.
    Mom loves Elway, and horses.
    Mom double-loves Nana.
No matter which team, this super-pot-bowl is far out! heh heh! Sorry, we couldn’t help ourselves.

Mom has been waxing silly here this a.m. She wanted to tell the Daddy Dawg that the yard was covered with “turdus migratorus” but thought he might think he had to clean something, so she settled for: Robins on the grass, alas!

Good Morning all and Happy MLK Day–

Melanie–You’re right–neither horses nor birds rate high on Chet’s list. I wonder who he’d bet against? (I’m guessing Broncos.)

Mel, Macy (and family), and all facing challenges today–Courage.

We’re off to the vet today to see if anything can be done about Conan’s unattended-for-13-years teeth. (And if anyone there has suggestions, we’d be delighted to hear them…)

Staff–Just catching up. Thanks for the link to the pronunciation page, but according to them, Gucci is “Goo-chee” (rather than “Gutti”) also, so who do we follow? Are Italians just inconsistent?

Everyone–Are they allowed to have two teams from the same (western) part of the country?

Why is Chet calling the new FOC Fonzie?

  15. Barb & Maggie
    9:46 am on January 20th, 2014

We think Chet dislikes horses more than birds. He usually comments that birds should be happier with being able to fly around the sky all day. And he doesn’t like their beady little eyes. Horses he has no use for.
Diane, we always thought it would be Goo-chee. It was Wikepedia that showed Gutt{i}. That was confusing.

Barb, here’s how we figure it. You start out calling the doggy POO’chini, so it sounds almost like Poochy, then you can start changing over to Poo CHI ni. Pup will never know what you did. Is mystery dog a girl or a boy? I know, I know, every other word…

oh, good morning world. The countdown has begun.

B and M–I agree–chet said something along the lines of “It’s a miracle you can get them to do anything…” w/respect to getting them to drink once led to water. No disrespect to Hilton…

T and G–Yeah–what’s with Bernie’s learning curve? Really sharp about most things, but that one tragic flaw…

Dawson–I agree, an excellent quote. The keep-moving-forward-no-matter-what behavior endorsed seems to come naturally to non-human species…

  30. Barb & Maggie
    12:13 pm on January 20th, 2014

Masquers, Arlene is coming by on Wednesday to meet Barb and make sure we really have a fenced yard, etc. She said our application and phone interview were great and the call to the V*E*T was excellent too. Last thing would be for me to have a meet and greet with Poochie to make sure we like each other. That should be a slam dunk, because I always like other dogs (well LuLu was a bit much, but hey).

We are going to go look up Emillo Pucci. Don’t know who that is.

  31. Barb & Maggie
    12:19 pm on January 20th, 2014

OK, we looked him up and needless to say, Barb does not have any of his items in her closet. Saw a silk scarf for $495, and a coat for $3,650. Little too pricey for our budget and lifestyle.
So Diane, how do you pronounce Pucci? Is it like Pew-see?

Creator, Our friend The Storyteller, has taken ill. He is a man of passion; for life and it’s wonders, for his loving and beautiful bride, Amalia, and for your knowledge, understanding, and healing. Please guide him to health. Please embrace Amalia with your love, so that she may not be afraid. Please whisper in her ear all the prayers being said from her family, your humble servants who are her family through this blog. Please give those who are helping The Storyteller, your knowledge to heal him, and return him to health.

  55. Belle Starr
    3:27 pm on January 20th, 2014

Wose: Amen. That sounds a lot better than the prayer I wanted to post which can be summed up as: Please heal the Storyteller or I am going to be in a very bad mood. Amen. The pixie told me we can’t make demands of the Creator. But, she said she understands it comes from love because she has the same thought in her head. She said if it worked that way, Melanie and Truman would be whole and Macy’s family would be at peace.

Amen from me as well. May this plot twist prove minor.

B and M–E. Pucci was quite the thing in the 1970s–big prints and big colors, and I confused him with Gucci all the time (and pronounced the names to rhyme with each other).

Dawson and HOH–Curling is quite odd. I understand some local college folk play it in the middle of the night (at UCI). If you’re going to expend all that energy, couldn’t you just actually sweep something? You could do it in groups with Team names and drink if necessary…

  59. Belle Starr

Mr. Golinka! It’s possible he could have the flu. Breathing problems and a high fever go along with the flu and other things too. Melanie–I checked in to find out the latest–it sounds like the Storyteller is stabilized (Yes?) I don’t think my kids have blurring or smooching capabilities (although I guess i wouldn’t know, would I) but I combine my thoughts and prayers and streams of healing light and energy with the others. Thinking of you both now and through tomorrow (and always).

  78. Tupper and Gilly
    7:26 pm on January 20th, 2014

Dear Plunder Family – thank you all for all the good wishes and prayers. We think Belle Starr’s prayer must have gotten through to the Powers That Be, because the Storyteller is now resting comfortably in the company of many multicolored and dancing giraffes. And talk about storytelling – tee hee – he doesn’t do meds well at all, and when he has to have them, look out.

He will be staying overnight (at least) in the hospital, and they will do more chest xrays and tests tomorrow after he has had all the anitibiotic stuff.

Mama said she knew he was really sick when she mentioned the word “hospital” and he didn’t say no. The nurses there were very good, and took care of him right away when he got there. Of course the fact that he was turning blue from not being able to breathe…well, that might have had something to do with it. At first he had a terrible dishrag of a doctor – but then a doctor that we knew stopped by, and next thing we know, the Storyteller was getting a lot better treatment.

Mama finally came home about 5:30. First she had a good cry, then Gramp took her out to get something to eat, since she hadn’t had anything all day. Now she is home and calm, and knows that the Storyteller is safe and where he needs to be. So we are going to take her to the couch, and present both tummy sides up – we know that is exactly what she needs.

And just by the way – we did hear on the local news that there has been a mysterious trail of glitter found wending its way around the local hospital. And there was a pile of scrubs in the laundry shoot covered in sparkles and dog hair. Anyone know anything about that? hmmmm?

    Darling little mini donkey.

Thank you for the prayer. Hope The Storyteller is resting peacefully tonight and can go home tomorrow. Maybe he can visit Melanie first. You are both in our thoughts tonight.

Good night and sweet dreams all.

Creator, we gather here this evening to give thanks for the gifts you give us each day. We are awed and humbled by these magnificent gifts—breath, life, the sun that wakes us each day, and allows us to clearly see the path we take in life. This glorious sun, that restores the vibrancy of our bodies, that stirs animals from their deep sleep, and the plants who turn their faces toward the sun. We are awed and humbled by the beauty of the stars that glitters in the dark velvet sky, a blanket of comfort and dreams.

Creator, today our friend, Leonard, The Storyteller has fallen ill. Leonard is a man of great passion and respect—for life and all it’s wonders, for his loving and beautiful bride, Amalia, and for your knowledge, understanding, and the great power of your healing.

Creator, today we come to you in a time of despair, our hearts heavy. We lift our tear-filled eyes and hands to you, with the hope that our collective whispered prayers will be heard, and that in return, we will receive your grace, your love, your guidance , your gift of healing.

On this night, we, your humble servants lift our prayers to you, with the hope that you will lay your healing hands on our friend Leonard , and guide him to health. Please embrace Amalia with your love, so that she may not be afraid. Please light the path of knowledge of those who tend The Storyteller so that they may return him to health. Please whisper in Amalia’s ear all the prayers being said by her family, your humble servants, who she has come to know through this blog.

Creator, you are generous with your gifts and love, and we are grateful. Tonight we ask even more of you. We ask that you also offer comfort to our friend Macy’s family during their own difficult and emotional time in their lives. We ask that you lay your healing hands on our friend Truman, to restore him to the good health he once enjoyed. Please keep Karen and BooBear in the warmth of your heart, comfort and reassure them until Truman comes back to them healthy and strong, so that they may be a complete family once again.

And please, Creator, light clearly the path of those who are treating our friend Melanie, so that they may know the truth of her illness, bring her relief from pain, and restore strength to her body. Comfort Zoe with your loving embrace, and calm her fears. Please bless the Pack, who are loved by Melanie and Zoe.

Creator, we are truly grateful for your daily gifts. We are grateful for our blood families, and the family we have become on the blog. We thank you for listening to our prayers, guidance, and love.

    AMEN

All of you have helped so much today. This illness came on so very suddenly and so dramatically. It was scary, but we think the worst is behind us. But it was good to feel all the support today, it really was.

And now on to another day….goodnight all.

Oh – and Rio – that cabin in the woods is just as we thought too – except in our version, said cabin is on a beach, with warm waves washing up to the doorstep instead of cold snow.

(report from the Lucy Fur…er :Lou) As we thought, no one is looking for a smoocher disguised as a crash cart with an “Out of Order” sign on it. Lots of dainty kisses to Leonard and so many others in need. We are staying the night so that when Melanie arrives tomorrow, we will be in the corner to give her “kisses sweeter than wine”. Nighty night.

Staff says she will update the Bootie fund in the a.m. We did get two more donations today and still have 40.00 available for a matching grant. If we get that 40 dollar matched we will be at 1000.00 and the donor who puts us at or over 1000.00 gets a wonderful custom set of dragonfly or butterfly earrings from Tupper and Gilly. Or a necklace of the same.

oooooooo Sounds good to me… See you on the flip side.
