Sundays With Ingrid (Plus Gospel With Jamey Johnson)
The black-and-silvers tried the flea-flicker on their second play. Ty started to come forward, started to take the bait like everyone else, and then—yes!—saw what was really happening. Blessed miracle. He backpedaled, found the receiver, matched him stride for stride. Ball in the air. They both leaped, hands outstretched, a frozen moment under the lights. And—19 came down with it! Ty! He turned upfield, dodged a tackler—
“Run! Run!” Dad was jumping up and down, beside himself. They all were.
And dodged another tackler and shifted into a gear Ingrid hadn’t known he had. Maybe Ty hadn’t known either. He just blazed, right down the sideline, maybe not graceful like Assistant Coach Trimble but even faster. Crowd on their feet. Touchdown. He raised the ball high but didn’t do any embarrassing dancing or stuff like that. The best moment of his life, Ingrid just knew it. She almost cried, which was so weird.

Fitting!….Goodbye sweet world of sorrow…snort!….Someone here has had it up to here with feeling like crap because of what? Her allergies or her medication?…sniff!…Don’t know, but she thinks if she leaves this house and this area which is highly populated with Sic-A-More trees she might start feeling better…grunt!
Dilema!… The bad part is we will be staying at her mothers house, but she doesn’t have internet service over there…sob!… Her work computer cannot be used for Chet’s Blog very much either. So until she figures everything out, I will not be in communication with you guys very much this coming week…sob! sob!sob!
Packing!…. She feels pretty bad today, so it might take her a long time to get things packed and moved, so until then I can be at Chet’s….sniff!… I hope she remembers to pack my bed and all my baseball toys! …yeep!
9:04 am on May 1st, 2011
Oh Riö, you are just going to have to explain to your friend’s mom that there are necessities in life. Food, baseball toys, food, your bed, food, the Rockies, food and Chet’s blog!
I’m feeling tip top today! Ten hours of sleep. I hardly ever do that.
B.Stover: YSAS said that one of the most difficult lines to speak is Laertes, “Drown’d! O, where?”
Most people don’t realize that Shakespeare’s “O” is a sign to show emotion, you know act, not just say “O” and then “Where?”
I done learnt that yeser’ay!
9:09 am on May 1st, 2011
Oh, three more things.
Riö, I’m glad the move will allow your friend to see if it those *&%& trees, or her meds.
The South is getting hit again. I just looked at the weather and lots of yellows and reds in that radar. Stay safe everyone!
Eaglet pic! Must be cold and windy, because everyone is hunkered down.

9:19 am on May 1st, 2011
I’m feeling a bit better today. Mom says I’m not out of the woods yet, but I didn’t even go into the woods.
10:08 am on May 1st, 2011
Eaglets!… Wow! Those guys are Huge already…snort!….I wonder when their real feathers will start growing…heh!
Sammie!… It’s good to hear from you little one…sniff!… I hope you feel much better today…snorkel!

Rio, Luckily the Internet thing is an easy fix. You can get dsl with a wireless router through a number of carriers. I know that I would not want to live without internet, and I am certain that mom would not want to either.
Sam, I am glad that you are feeling better.
10:21 am on May 1st, 2011
Jamey Johnson has a fabulous voice! Thanks, Chet.
10:24 am on May 1st, 2011
Good morning everyone.
Sam: I’m glad you’re feeling better but if it doesn’t clear up by tomorrow I think you need to go to the vet’s.
Rio: The simple solution is to get internet service at your friend’s mother’s home.
Melanie: That is really interesting. I hadn’t thought about it…showing how he feels about the death of his sister with so few words. I’d like to see that part on youtube if possible.
10:53 am on May 1st, 2011
Morning Völfie and B. Stover!
Since shows are copyrighted for design and directing, not sure if we can take a video of him IN the play. He could probably do a monologue including it though . . .
The swords play went well yesterday. They are just beginning. They have developed five steps into the fight. Just kept working on that. Nothing fancy yet. Both have had stage fighting and realize how much work it is so that each will know where the swords are at all times. When they get better, he will video tape it.
No money in their hats yet. YSAS said that people watched them, but they weren’t doing anything fancy enough to get money.
While we are crossing tails and paws (which is difficult for us 2 legged) for KirbyT’s mom, cross them for YSAS.
The play he was in is being considered for travel to Germany. If this happens he would get PAID! That would be cool!
Hopefully soon, those initials will stand for Youngest Successful Actor Son!

Rio, Will you have internet in a week at you friend’s mothers house. We are going to have to shorten that to FM.
We watched Burlesque last night. It was realy good if you like singing and dancing. Sort of reminded us of Chicago, from a few years ago. Christina Aguilera did most of the singing and dancing, with Cher doing a few numbers.
Hope everyone has a good day. We have company coming for a visit, 2 legged and 4 legged. Sedar is the 4 legged, which is all I care about.
11:07 am on May 1st, 2011
Rio. Rio. Rio. That is horrible. We definitely will need to figure out a solution to this problem. Longer term, we will need to get you Internet connectivity at your friend’s mother’s house. There are a lot of ways in which that could be done. Some of those may be temporary fixes as well. There are portable modem devices that most wireless companies now provide that can be plugged into most computers or laptops like memory sticks; there are smartphones that can provide Internet access and there are tablets like IPaws for which you purchase wireless connectivity from most wireless providers. This is critically important because how can we keep track of mission planning activities without our fearless leader, Commander Rio. If finances are a problem, I can tap into my secret agent slush fund; I would even be prepared to give up martinis and greenies for a while (although hanger steak may be a different matter). Wookie
11:08 am on May 1st, 2011
Internet!… She’s not going to fork over money for another internet service until this house is up for sale and we are permanently moved…snort!…Although, she may change her mind by Wednesday night…heh!…This week is sort of to test a couple of things. One, will she feel better away from here, two can she and her mom get along, three can me and her mom get along?….grunt!
Clarkson!… Yes! He already is extremely Successful in my pug eyes!…snort!
11:21 am on May 1st, 2011
Happy May Day Everyone! A new month, a new day.
Sunday is dressed up in her, well – Sunday best – blue skies and sunshine. Reading over last nights postings, we were sobbing at the end. Dear Rebecca saying goodbye to her team, Wolfie’s story of Teddy by the side of road… But, hopefully some good news today – Sam is feeling better, Kirby’s mom to interview soon for teacher position and a possible Germany trip (!) for YSAS (Youngest Successful Actor Son) and Company. Wolfie! That sounds like a cool logo idea.
Rio: You cut-off from Chet’s Blog? It simply can’t happen! There must/will be a solution.
11:23 am on May 1st, 2011
Later!…We are off to have coffee with you-know-who and discuss the situation….snort!… Her mother made the offer yesterday but my friend didn’t accept it then…huffle!…So now she will tell her mom to get ready, here I come!…heh!snort!
11:25 am on May 1st, 2011
Rio – Your change of location could possibly improve more than being away from the sycamores. Maybe your current house has mold that you don’t know about – or radon gas. Mom was in both of those circumstances and in each case, getting away was the solution.
You can’t be away from the Internet. Wookie has given you lots of good choices.
As for getting along with mother, well she’s another source of food dropping on the floor. When it comes to eating, I always say the more the merrier.
11:30 am on May 1st, 2011
Rio,
For a short term solution, your friend can access the Internet at any public library. For free.
Don’t tell mom, but I have been giving private blurring lessons and have saved a few monies, which can be tapped for certain causes. Just say the word, Rio. Just keep it on the QT from mm.
11:43 am on May 1st, 2011
mm = my mom.
Dang ipaw.
12:03 pm on May 1st, 2011
Hello, Hello, Hello! What a gorgeous day we have here. Mama is getting BONES out of the freezer for us and then, we are ALL going out to sit in the SUN! The glorious, warming, embracing sun that makes our insides smile.
Happy Happy Corgi Dance!
Rio – we hope this is all the start of something good!(and be grateful that your friend’s mom doesn’t live in New York – then you would have to vote for the (eeewwwwww) Yankees (shudder)
Sam – please be feeling better with every passing minute
Rebecca – our offer still stands!
Kirby – crossing paws is tough for us Corgis too (short legs you know), but all good thoughts are being sent your way
And to everyone else – Happy May Day – hope that the sun shines on your life today too!
Melanie – 10 hours?? Good on ya (as Liz would say)
12:24 pm on May 1st, 2011
Chet has such good taste in music!! We have so much in common like music and not being able to remember much of anything.
Good ideas from everyone about Rio’s internet situation. You can’t go away even for awhile, Rio. I would miss you too much. I have a secret savings account that mom doesn’t know about, but she wouldn’t care anyway. As Wolfie said, just say the word.
I really think Mollypop could be correct about other environmental problems besides the trees. This dry country is not immune to mold problems, and radon gas is pretty common.
Paws crossed for Mckey and Kirby’s mom.
I’m glad you are somewhat better, Sam, but I am agreeing with Stover that you may need to go to the vet if there is not noticable improvement tomorrow.
1:20 pm on May 1st, 2011
Hey, y’all! Thanks for all the crossed paws, but I think I didn’t write that correctly last night. The only teaching Mom does is at Sunday School! It’s my girl who’s doing the interview for a teaching job. And guess what? Today my girl is coming for a quick visit. She bringing the “granddogs” — I guess that would make them my nieces — with her! My girl is going back to school tonight, but her apartment lease is up today so she’s staying with a friend until graduation. She can’t keep her dogs there, so she’s leaving Addison and Maggie here for the next couple of weeks! Not sure how I feel about that — now that Buford and Missy have gone over the Rainbow Bridge, I’m used to being an only dog. And Addie and Maggie are both much bigger than I am. I just hope they don’t think they’re going to rule the roost!!!
1:46 pm on May 1st, 2011
Decided!… Well, my friend had a nice chat with her mom and her mom told her to order the Comcast Internet and put it on her existing phone bill…heh! … My friend will pay her back each month of course. After it is installed, I will be back in the evenings at Chets..snort! …During the day it will be tricky cause I’m not supposed to let her mother catch me on the computer…sniff!…This might freak her out !..heh!
Groceries!…Then someone had to go get a few groceries for her week at the busy place…sniff!….Now we are going to do laundry and pack a few thousand things to take over to the other house later this afternoon…grunt!…Busy!Busy!
2:13 pm on May 1st, 2011
Packing! It makes me tired just to think about it. Your Friend needs some help! Let’s see…I could send over a pack mule, but we all know how stubborn they are. We wish you both well in the new location. MollyPop may be right about other things factoring in to the allergy problem.
2:16 pm on May 1st, 2011
Whew! A near disaster adverted—Rio will be on Chet’s no matter his lodging. Here’s hoping that Rio’s friend feels better soon.
Yesterday, the dogs howled throughout the day, and then throughout the night…Rather than my normal hour (or longer, because I tend to give extra loves) it takes to do chores, it now takes 5 minutes. When I finished chores this morning I looked at the dogs and they looked at me, “So, that’s it?” Seems so strange.
2:20 pm on May 1st, 2011
Rio. That is great news and very, very nice of your friend’s mom. That also means planning for the next issionmay can continue as planned. (I used secret code so no one will know what is being planned.). Wookie
2:52 pm on May 1st, 2011
Yippie!! Rio’s friend got the internet problem nicely worked out. That is good of her mom. I am assuming that you will be able to watch the Rockies’ games at her mom’s house, or we would have been yelping about that sooner.
There is one other thing to take into consideration about her not feeling good…the wind. The alleged experts are saying that April has been our worst month for wind since 1999. If that is true here, it would be true of where you live. All the pollen and junk the wind carries bothers mom. The good news is that we don’t have too many windy days left before a different weather pattern settles in.
3:09 pm on May 1st, 2011
Melanie: Are you going to be able to get to NY to see McKey as Laertes?
3:13 pm on May 1st, 2011
Rebecca: If you get too lonely, I may have a couple of dogs I can
givelend you! If I get tired of Addison and Maggie, I’ll be happy to put them in a box — don’t worry, I’ll add some airholes — and mail them to you!3:16 pm on May 1st, 2011
Rio – the Catty Librarian went to JuneFabrics.com and downloaded PDA.net onto her smart phone. Now she can get internet by connecting the phone to the computer – if there is a cell tower. But she says you will be much happier with Comcast because PDA.net is slow, even if good in a pinch. And besides, you should have heard her swear while she was trying to get it to work the first time! She blames it on being married to a sailor, but I know it’s because she is Catty.
PS Tomorrow she picks up the new Kat! >^..^<
3:17 pm on May 1st, 2011
Good Day Rebecca: We feel like joining you and the rest of the pack in a howl. Just know Whitey-Lance and the team are only a thought away. They won’t even realize they are working this summer because they will be having so much fun.
3:30 pm on May 1st, 2011
No fair Kirby – WE offered Rebecca our (unnecessary) furball Kats first! If she gets lonely, she has to take them for the first trial, THEN you can send her your (uninvited) houseguests.
That is, if they haven’t become your fast friends and pack running buddies by then.
Rio – maybe we can help you and your friend with all this work. Seems we had a business card around here somewhere……
lets see if we can’t lay our paws on it……
oh, here it is…
MGM Co. – We’ll Get It Done – No Butts About IT
1-800-328-2267 (1-800-E-A-T -C-A-N-S)
We have heard that these guys are very thorough, very helpful. We asked them where they got their company name, and they said they just named it after themselves – Maurauding Goats Moving Co.
Go ahead, give ’em a call.

Hip Hip Hooray!!! A new Kat for the blog.
We really hope he’s a smart alec with a wicked sense of humor.
Can’t wait to meet him!
3:48 pm on May 1st, 2011
Our friends have gone back north to Black Earth, WI where they live. I had a nice romp with Sedar, but it is sooo windy out there. We should call this place Windy Prairie Farm. Barb said it is blowing too hard to let the baby goaties out.
We hope Catty like her new kitty as much as FattyKitty. Also hope she will start posting more, and maybe show us a pic of the newbie.
Barb was wondering if the global warming might be why we are having such severe weather. One meteorligist said that they think the radiation leaks in Japan and the Gulf oil spill from last year both could be having a negative effect and causing the extreme weather conditions. Both are still human caused, but maybe more temporary than the global warming.
3:58 pm on May 1st, 2011
Hi Barb and Maggie – we may have missed out on some posts. Have the little goaties been officially named yet? And has the second lady-in-waiting had her baby (s) yet?
We don’t know much about global warming and science. We just know what Mama’s grandfather used to tell her. He said the Earth is a living being. And the dinosaurs lived here a long time, but they must have done something she didn’t like, so she just kind of brushed them off, like you brush lint off your sleeve.
And now humans haven’t been here nearly as long, but we have been a lot ruder and a lot more destructive. So she keeps warning us, but we don’t listen. So every day, we get closer to be brushed off her sleeve.
Maybe she’ll have better luck with the next species….
4:10 pm on May 1st, 2011
HATS! I looked up The Royal Wedding Hats and found a website that had some pictures. I have to say that, there are some really weird hats out there. I have an ugly hat. That is what I call it. Keeps the sun off my neck and face, and if The Pack gets it I don’t have to worry that much.
Barb and MagPie: I think scientists are now calling it “Global Climate Change”. Some places are getting hotter, but there is also more acid in the ocean, and junk in the air and 500 year storms now happening almost yearly.
Jeez . . .
So look at some hats and laugh! http://royalwedding.yahoo.com/photos/sets/1087/Best-hats-of-the-royal-wedding-guests.html
4:24 pm on May 1st, 2011
Growl!… So after looking at the Comcast Internet prices she suddenly remembered that our Qwest Internet service also includes a wireless connection…grunt!… She called Qwest tech support and talked to someone she could barely understand forever (missing several innings of the Game by the way!). They went through all kinds of set-up things and he finally said, or it sounded like he said, that he could set-up our account so we could take our computer and modem with us to her mothers house and use our Wireless account even though her mother does not have any thing .…Yeep!Yeep!… We were both so happy until our computer decided it just wasn’t going to let us use the Wireless Connectivity software that it has loaded on it….grump! GRUMP!… So Qwest is all set, but our crapola computer is refusing to cooperate…gah! ….We just re-booted this piece of shit to try it all over again…grump!…Paws crossed…sniff!
4:26 pm on May 1st, 2011
YES!….After re-booting we see our Wireless Account name out there….WOOOOO!… Now we just need to jump through several hoops to get the mysterious WEP Key that it is asking for ….grump!… Keep your paws crossed…snort!!!
4:35 pm on May 1st, 2011
OMG!….After hours of frustration and paw wringing WE ARE CONNECTED WIRELESSLY!!…heh!….This means, I think, that we won’t have to change anything and we can take our computer and modem with us when we leave here (after the game)…heh!heh!heh!…WOOOO!…The big test will be tonight when we are actually at her moms house…snort! …I’m feeling good about this though, I really am…chorkel!…Thank goodness my friend is sort of helpful when it comes to computer crap…sniff! …Even though she still feels icky today, she does have some worth and talent that is useful to me…snuffle!
4:37 pm on May 1st, 2011
Oh!…My, I was so worried I wouldn’t be able to keep up with all the gossip and goings on at Chets Blog…whew!snort!…Now both of us can watch the game and she can pack in-between innings…heh!…Her mom is brewing up a nice supper for us tonight too!…yeep!yeep!
4:50 pm on May 1st, 2011
CONGRATULATIONS RIO!!
whew, what a lot of work. I hate trying to talk to someone on the phone about how to work with the internet or the computer.
May your friend’s symptoms go away!
4:54 pm on May 1st, 2011
Dear Rio,
I am so glad you thought of the wireless connection. That is how Staff and Mr.Staff get connected when they are in the Cities. It is also the way Staff gets connected when at the farm. Her computer knows the keys to both wireless modems and just puts in the right password for where ever it is.
Staff has no idea how it does it though.
In the Cities we have to pay Dad $10. a month for his Earthlink wireless because our little tiny internet provider at the farm. (polar communications) doesn’t reach as far as the Cities. Also any internet providers like Qwest would be long distance charges on our farm phone. Yes we are in the ‘boonies’.
5:06 pm on May 1st, 2011
Relieved!…I would have died this week if I couldn’t chat with you guys…snort!…I’m so relieved she figured it all out with the help of her little friend from India…heh! …Just keep your paws crossed that it will work perfectly (with 5 bars!) at you-know-whose house tonight…sniff! …Rockies are losing 8 – 2…dammit! It’s because we weren’t focusing all our attention on them this afternoon…snuff! …There is still plenty of time to pull it out though, that’s for sure…huffle!
5:24 pm on May 1st, 2011
Pirates!….heh!… I like seeing Clint Hurdle, Manager of the Pirates, because he chews his gum so hard his hat goes up and down…snort!…Plus, I just love the guy to pieces…heh! …Big ole Bear!
Speed!…I have to say, since we are using the Wireless connection, this old fatty computer is flying, internet-wise…heh!…She’s kicking herself for not doing this sooner…gruff!
5:34 pm on May 1st, 2011
I’m impressed that your friend can figure all that out. It drives the Librarian batty. Heh heh – the Batty Librarian.
Btw – saw Dawson the other day, cooing over new and old grandchildren. She’s probably not missing any of us.
5:34 pm on May 1st, 2011
B.Stover: I’m working it out. I think I will go see OTAS and F (I’ve promised I would drive down there, NJ, for a few days) and then the three of us go into the city to see YSAS.
That would be cool. It’s running July 28th through August 13th. I have promised not to come on the last night, because that is his breakdown and cast party.
No problem there, I don’t want to go to a cast party that will be up four flights of stairs!
5:36 pm on May 1st, 2011
Fatty Kitty, wonderful news about the new Kat. So a Dawson sighting. . . Did you see Dawson physically or in pictures or on the computer?
Inquiring minds want to know. snicker
5:42 pm on May 1st, 2011
Tupper!….heh!snort!…No! I will not be calling the MGM moving company anytime soon…grunt!…They would eat all my baseball toys and my bed!…grump! …Lousy Goats…sniff!
5:51 pm on May 1st, 2011
KAT!….Oh no! Not a new Kat!…grump!…Fatty, why don’t you just stick around as a ghost and show up now and then?…sniff!…This new Kat might hang out here way too much once it learns the ropes…snuffle! …Please Fatty! You hardly ever post and that is so purrrfect for a Kat-type…heh!
6:09 pm on May 1st, 2011
Can’t wait to hear the new kat’s name. I am sure the Librarian will come up with something clever.
T & G, babies are Thunder and Lightning, but the other one(s) are still waiting to be born. We had a very very city guy visit one day and he had only seen goats in cartoons. He, in all seriousness, asked if we fed then tin cans! When Barb said that is just a joke, because they nibble on everything, he was shocked. She told him they eat hay and grass and lots of weeds. Baby Goat would kill for kale. It’s her favorite.
T & G, Your mama’s grandfather was very wise. The 2 leggeds have benn extremely rude, and we think that they will be brushed off by Mother Earth before too long.
6:26 pm on May 1st, 2011
News!…. She will be breaking down the computer parts and packing them right after the game is over…sniff!…It is top of the ninth now, score 8 – 4 Pirates….grump!…Almost everything else has been packed and ready for loading into my car. Hopefully, there will be room for me!…snort! … She will be doing this packing of course, with me supervising the whole thing…gruffle!
Goats!…That guy who was ignorant about goats, is the reason we have Marauding
Goats…grunt!…No one knows how dangerous they can be when they gather together in a marauding fashion….wheeze! …It is a serious problem folks. Be Aware!!…grunt!
6:34 pm on May 1st, 2011
Good Luck Riö and Friend!
I still can’t get over the woman who wouldn’t eat fresh eggs from the farm . . .
6:40 pm on May 1st, 2011
Melanie, Remember where the farm eggs come from, as opposed to the grocery store eggs!
6:54 pm on May 1st, 2011
Rockies !…Lost the first game of May!…grump!
Packing!…Well, we here are in packing up and moving out mode…snort!…It might be a while from now if you indeed hear from me…huffle!… Once we get all our stuff (my baseball toys and my warm soft bed) over there, she will try to connect Wirelessly while her mother is cooking supper!…snort!…What a great plan this is. I just hope it works out!…gruff!…If you do not hear from me again tonight, well you will know the whole Wireless thing didn’t actually work…sob!sob!sob! …So keep the gossip and fairy tails going all night long and I hope to join in later somehow…heh!snort!heh!
6:57 pm on May 1st, 2011
Good luck with the packing, Rio’s friend – ugh, such a lousy job, packing.
T&G, mama’s grandfather sounds very wise, except for the part about humans being around for almost as long as the dinosaurs.
Siber, sorry for confusing Snow Dogs with Eight Below yesterday!
Melanie, can you post the link for YSAS’s Aussie turn again?
7:16 pm on May 1st, 2011
Hey LizF: Here you go . . .
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPzNfbQ8FBc
Dan and Zoë went to a play today! My sister’s daughter’s SO was in it. Very good.
Flaubert’s Latest by Peter Parnell.
They tried to explain it to me, but ended up saying you just had to be there.
7:16 pm on May 1st, 2011
Liz, I think Grandfather said humans had not been here nearly as long as the dinosaurs, but had been ruder.
7:19 pm on May 1st, 2011
T&G: How funny! MGM Company We agree with wise Grandfather – the Earth is a Living Being as is everyting on it.
Barb&Maggie: We believe these are Earth Changes that the Planet goes through periodically. However, humankind certainly hasn’t helped matters with our wasteful ways and complete lack of reapect.
7:20 pm on May 1st, 2011
In case the Fatty Kitty doesn’t get on again, Dawson and the Catty Librarian were both together for a mini western family reunion with children and grandchildren. Tomorrow, really late, I will pick up Dawson at the airport. Then we will have a mini Midwestern family reunion. Whoo Hoo it will be good to see her again. We will go to garage sales and estate sales and I am fairly sure I can talk her into going to the Lands End inlet store. Maybe she will find me another sewing machine.
yippee skippee.
7:32 pm on May 1st, 2011
Liz: “Eight Below” is one of our favorites!
Staff: Sounds like a fun time for all at the reunions. Hi Dawson!
Rio: Paws crossed for problem free internet connection.
Signing off for tonite – Bear
7:50 pm on May 1st, 2011
Awesome Staff and Dawson! snicker
I thought it was really weird when we moved out here and instead of garage sales they have tag sales. They also have estate sales, but they call them estate sales.
I just looked up “Eight Below” on Netflix. I’m NOT watching it.
I had a hard enough time doing the Ellie video with her getting left behind and I made all that up!
8:13 pm on May 1st, 2011
Eight Below was on here but Mom said no way would she watch it. Life is sad enough sometimes, Mom doesn’t need a movie or a book to have her sobbing.
8:25 pm on May 1st, 2011
Zoë agrees MollyPop!
I’m headed to bed. I’d love to get another 10 hours of sleep, but things to do, places to go tomorrow.
Hope you enjoy the “documentary” Liz!
Riö, I hope to see that you have wireless (though it will be morning before I find out).
KirbyT: Paws and Fingers crossed for DAUGHTER of Mom!
Barb&MagPie: You just have to wonder about that lady. I mean what did she think? It is a complete blank to me. Obviously, it was a blank to her.
Everyone else . . . Sleep tight and don’t let the bed bugs bite. (Especially since we haven’t heard from Rocky lately)

Eight Below is indeed pretty sad. Hard to watch, hard not to watch!
Oh – Thanks Barb – skimming, it’s the bane of my life. Sorry T&G.
Rio – do you have to sell the house? How far away is FM’s house? doesn’t the wind blow the sycamore stuff there?

Melanie: That sounds like a great plan: NJ and NY visit.
Liz: I cut the first mango following your directions and it worked perfectly!
There is a new Masterpiece Classics on tonight–South Riding from a novel by Winifred Holtby which I’ve never read.

We are waiting with bated breath to see if Rio shows up tonight, which will mean all is well with the internet stuff
Thanks for the inside scoop on 8 Below. No way is Mama gonna watch that one. She couldn’t even read the part of DOI when Chet got left at the pound. She gets really upset at any movie or tv show where a critter gets hurt or is abused. You know how animal documentaries always follow the real life happenings in the wild? And some critters always die? Well, she won’t watch ’em. Flat out refuses. She loves knowledge, and loves learning and would watch them, but when the death scene happens it rips her heart out and she cries and cries and gets mad at the film makers for not interceding and saving whatever critter it was. She was watching something not long ago that was a lovely story about a hippo in the wild, how she gave birth, how she taught the little one to swim and stay with her. They followed the hippo for a couple of months, and then whammo! Crocodile. No more baby hippo. She had nightmares for days (or nights).

B, that’s great!
Melanie, YSAS sounds pretty damn good in that documentary. Overall what i liked was that his accent never got too strong, you know that really broad ocker twang like Crocodile Dundee. On the other hand, it did occasionally sound south african/new zealandish/a tad english, but at the end when he said the other dogs were bastards, that was the best bit, I gave that bit full marks for authenticity!
9:38 pm on May 1st, 2011
Liz – wasn’t that line “the Bastards!” just the best?!
My gosh, it is SOOOO quiet tonight without Rio. Oh RIIIIIOOOOO
Is your internet working??
10:18 pm on May 1st, 2011
T & G, Barb is just like your mama, she can’t watch those shows either. She saw Bambi when she was about 5, and still remembers how sad it was. Just thinking about that baby hippo and the croc is making her sad, without even actually seeing it.
Hope Rio is able to post later.
We are saying good night and sweet dreams.

WOW! Is anybody watching the news right now???
11:04 pm on May 1st, 2011
You can almost hear the crickets chirping here on the blog without Rio and baseball…
News—Unbelievable.

Ve came to tease Rio, and have news on too.
Vow!
Ve are not sure vhat this is going to mean, but it is big news.

It’s a little scary — what will they do now to get back at us?
11:38 pm on May 1st, 2011
We understand, Kirby. It seems when 1 of the bad guys is caught or killed, there are more to step into his place. But, hopefully, we will be prepared for whatever comes our way.
We have been very busy since Friday and just caught up with the blog today. SHBella, don’t know how you can handle the guys being gone. Even though they are running and working, they will miss their hugs and tummies from you and AJ. Do you get to visit them at all during this time or is it better not to? Do you know the people well that are working them? We have visions of Whitey Lance running off and showing up at home! Hopefully, he would take Orion with him!
Melanie, we really have enjoyed the videos you have been doing. The pack is so pretty!! Mom wants a dog!! Don’t know why…she has her hands full taking care of us and all the other rescues here.
Rio, hope the internet works for you at your grandma’s place, and that the allergies get much better. Is her home far from your house? Will you be able to go back and forth easily to get the place ready to sell?

Creator – we ask you to watch over this world tonight, to guide humans beyond their small emotions and reactions, to understand that Your way is one of peace and beauty.
We ask you to watch over every man and woman who wears a uniform of this country. Touch their souls with Your medicine that they might feel Your peace and beauty spread within their hearts.
We ask you to give Your healing to those whose hearts were torn from them 9 years ago. Let them feel the touch of those who left them, to know that there is peace within their hearts.
Creator – we human of this world need to be better than we are – we ask you to show us to the ways of wisdom that we can walk in Your ways of peace and beauty, that wars will cease, that humans will remember humanity to all.
Creator – be with this world tonight.

We are all going to bed here. Tomorrow the awsome Dawson. I have almost all my quilting and sewing stuff out of her room. Sigh. I sure liked having my own sewing room. It wasn’t as bad as I thought to move it all out.
Wonder what color the new kitty for the Catty Librarian will be. I hear it’s a boy. They are very lovable cats. All my boys have been lovers.
This is Alton, on the stairs. He is over the rainbow bridge. What a lover that cat was. He would jump into my arms. I miss him a lot.

T&G: Amen.
Good night, y’all. Sleep tight, everyone.

Amen, T&G, from here in Chevy Chase too. Very well said. Wookie
12:53 am on May 2nd, 2011
Amen T&G That is a very nice prayer.
I am glad Rio’s friend is getting the internet problem solved. She’ll get it fixed up for Rio.
Eight Below…We own it on DVD but have never seen it and will not watch it,,especially since we know the true story it is based on and it isn’t a pretty one.
We are going to be extra busy for a few days so don’t worry if I am not here on the blog as much as usual, but I think I will have time to read it.
