Sundays With Ingrid
Brucie Berman got on the bus, did what he must have thought of as a cool King Tut dance down the aisle. No one looked at him. He stopped by Ingrid’s seat.
“Way cool,” he said, “that thing in The Echo.”
“Huh?” said Ingrid.
“About dogs not voting.”
“Guy,” called Mr. Sidney from the front. “Zip it.”
“Thing in The Echo?” said Mia, sitting beside her.
“No one reads The Echo,” said Ingrid.
“I do,” said Mia. “What thing?”
It turned out that lots of people read The Echo, including Mr. Porterhouse, a dodgeball lover who taught gym and was also Ingrid’s homeroom teacher, which meant taking attendance and recording tardies before letting them loose.
“Our friend Ingrid here made the paper,” he said, standing under the basketball hoop and holding up The Echo. He took reading glasses from the pocket of his warm-ups—Mr. Porterhouse always wore warm-ups, the colors always intense—and read aloud: “Heard on Main Street. Best quote yet on the widespread and much-to-be-lamented disobedience of the town’s leash law comes from the mouth of thirteen-year-old Ingrid Levin-Hill, eighth grader at Ferrand Middle. According to young Miss Levin-Hill, ‘The problem is that the dogs didn’t vote.’”
No one laughed except Mr. Porterhouse.
“Get it, kids?” said Mr. Porterhouse, looking at them over the rims of his glasses. “Town meeting voted in this leash law thing—but The dogs didn’t vote!”
Silence, unless all the blood flowing into Ingrid’s face made a noise.
Mr. Porterhouse cleared his throat and read on: “We had the pleasure of making Miss Levin-Hill’s acquaintance when she dropped by The Echo office while researching a school project about ‘pretty much anything.’ Our intrepid middle-schooler, who has chosen ‘The Life and Death of Kate Kovac,’ is a young lady to watch indeed.”
More silence. Ingrid’s embarrassment deepened, got all mixed together with the dread.
“Enough culture,” said Mr. Porterhouse. “Choose up for dodgeball.”
From Down the Rabbit Hole.
Bernie’s blue collar NFL picks: Steelers, Packers.

Good morning Chet, Ingrid and everyone.
Bernie, your watch is still in hock so no betting.
8:50 am on January 23rd, 2011
Staff: I knew I forgot to comment on something yesterday. Yes I saw the Science Magazine cover. It looks really interesting. I hope I can still get the mag so I can see it better and can read the articles. I won’t get to a bookstore until tomorrow.
Rio: Tennis is one sport that I used to watch. I had wanted to retire sooner but I guess they didn’t want me to. They(president, provost and dean) have been trying to get me to be department chair again but I have absolutely refused.
CHarris: Since you’ve lived there so long I assume you will stay even after you retire?
It’s 3 degrees here and minus 11 wind chill. The sun is out though.
10:03 am on January 23rd, 2011
I’ll pick the teams opposing Bernie’s picks. 🙂
10:04 am on January 23rd, 2011
Good morning, Everybody and have a good week.
Bee – you can be the Plunderers’ department chair any time!
10:06 am on January 23rd, 2011
Bluecat: I second the motion.
10:29 am on January 23rd, 2011
Good sunny Sunday morning, plunderers. Very cold here, but sun is out. Mom stayed in all day yesterday, so today she will run some errands, and have lunch at Carrabbas. She’s thinking about getting her hair highlighted as it helps cover the gray.
10:34 am on January 23rd, 2011
Thank you Dawson and Bluecat. I’m laughing.
Jasper: Tell you mom that gray is good.
10:34 am on January 23rd, 2011
Morning all, thought I’d check in early before I go to sleep again!
Zoë has decided this knee is taking much too long to heal. I mentioned the doc had said a month. And she said he was just wrong.
Go Ingrid!
C.Harris: If you want to move south for the winter, it’s going to be -16 degrees tonight.
Hopefully I will be back later.
10:38 am on January 23rd, 2011
All in favor?
Oh, wait I think that we have to ask for any other nominations before we can vote.
10:41 am on January 23rd, 2011
Good morning all. We’re going to go with SPQA’s picks, just to give him moral support.
I feel for all of you living in the frigid climes!
10:43 am on January 23rd, 2011
Football!…. GO PACKERS!….Woooo!

10:46 am on January 23rd, 2011
Climes? Is that even a word? Or didI just make that up?
Only13 more days until the Chinese New Year begins!
And how is Dan doing?
10:49 am on January 23rd, 2011
Chair!…If Stover becomes our department chair …snort!…does that mean we could all sit on her and give her sloppy licks and ear nips with crooked teeth?…sneeze!… If so, I vote ‘Yes’…snorkel!
11:05 am on January 23rd, 2011
You guys are funny! And, yes, Wolfie. Clime is another word for climate.
11:05 am on January 23rd, 2011
Melanie: What does Zoe want you to do?
11:07 am on January 23rd, 2011
I could curl up on B’s lap. She would tell me to “lie down” instead of these people who tell me to “lay down.”
11:33 am on January 23rd, 2011
Rio, GO BEARS! Have to do that because we are on the RIGHT side of the Illinois/Wisconsin border. 2:00 today and all eyes will be glued to the tube. Barb is not a big fb fan but she is going to half-watch today. Just gotta do it. Guess this is first time in almost 50 years (?) that Bears and Packers are in the playoff.
Kirby, forgot to mention last night that the other thing Barb did was shop for cabinet display change-outs. She got a beautiful 8 piece 7′ display with counter top for $250.00 for our laundry room. The original price was around $2,400-2,500. There was no sink base, but you can make one by removing the drawer and gluing the drawer front back in place. You just call or go into custom cabinet shops and see if they are changing out any of their displays. It is hit or miss, but if you luck out you can get fabulous cabinets for pennies on the dollar.
11:43 am on January 23rd, 2011
Sam, you are such a grammatically correct dog! No wonder you’re so beautiful.
11:44 am on January 23rd, 2011
Bee, Still trying to enlarge your avatar so we can see what you look like. We are nosey parkers.
11:52 am on January 23rd, 2011
Oh, no!!! Bernie picked the teams we want to win!! Hope this won’t put a jinx on them!
Maggie, Mom got out a magnifying glass and held it in front of the avatar and that made it a little larger! TeeHee!!
12:00 pm on January 23rd, 2011
I vote for Stover, and she won’t have to put up with me curling up on her lap. I don’t do that. She would get an enthusiastic handshake from me.
Mom solves the “lay down” or “lie down” grammar problem by simply saying “down”. I generally have no idea what she is talking about when she says “down”.
GO PACKERS!!!
12:13 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Melanie, or T&G, or even the Herbs…When does Melanie go back to the doctor to get her knee checked?
12:24 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Good afternoon, y’all! We’re going to go 50/50 with Bernie. We’re with him for the Packers, but going for the Jets instead of the Steelers. We usually go for the Steelers because they look so much like the Hawkeyes, but we’re not terribly fond of their QB these days. And we’re not normally New York fans, but something about this year’s Jets has struck our fancy!
12:26 pm on January 23rd, 2011
And I didn’t realize that Bernie wears a blue collar. Personally, my collar is green! Unless I wear my special Hawkeye collar, then it’s black and gold!!!
12:31 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Are we the only Bears fans?
1:18 pm on January 23rd, 2011
We have to go for the Packers as well. If the Bears win, Potus says he will come to the game. We have enough confusion here without him adding to it. On a related note, we are going to attempt to put up a Super Bowl picture tonight. I saw it yesterday, and frankly I thought it would look more like a supper bowl.
1:49 pm on January 23rd, 2011
I am for the Jets and the Packers.
1:50 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Mom has to go to a refresher first aid class this afternoon. She’s an Outdoor First Responder. Well, I know what she really does. When she spots someone lying in the snow, all crumpled up, she leans over and says “You should have been more careful.”
Mom needs a refresher class for this?
2:08 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Did anyone watch the pre=pregame show on Fox about the road to the championship games? REALLY good! The NFL really knows how to make films.
2:18 pm on January 23rd, 2011
I do like Ingrid. How Spence can relate to a middle-school girl is even more remarkable than relating to a dog.
-35 right now. B.Stover and Melanie: even though it would be hard, I am thinking of moving stateside after retirement. I am looking for a little bit more culture and ease in my older years. Also, my retirement income would probably go further in the states.
Every year I usually take one bad fall on the ice. For years it didn’t bother me even though once I was bedridden for three days. As a former skater, I didn’t fear ice and didn’t think of it as “hard.” Now it seems now there is more of a possibility of serious injury. My sister who is older took a bad fall and ended up having surgeries and a painful few months–she is now 100%, thank goodness.
There are seven states like Alaska that do not have state income taxes so I am looking at them first. The weather is my second priority.
2:25 pm on January 23rd, 2011
C Harris, Illinois just raised their state tax from 3% to 5%. We are not happy about it. Not a good move in a struggling economy. Barb’s son and D-I-L have mentioned moving to Florida, as a remote possibility. She says if they go, we are going. Illinois winters would not be missed.
Has anyone read Kim Edwards? Memory Keeper’s Daughter or The Lake of Dreams? Barb saw MKD movie but has not yet read the book. She is currently reading The Lake of Dreams. Good book, but a bit slow reading.
2:26 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Maybe PA relates to the teenagers due to his experiences as a 4-time father.
2:39 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Eucanuba!… Or however you spell it. We are watching this show until the Packers game comes on…heh!… They are showing the Working Class guys right now….snort!…Now the Toy Group which is what I would be in if I were out there showing my stuff…gruff!
2:40 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Hey!…The Pug was up first…snort!…Boy is she A CUTIE PIE!…wOOOO!
2:45 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Rio, how did the Maltese do? Like me, Princess.
2:46 pm on January 23rd, 2011
We are getting ready to watch the game, too. SOMEONE has to cheer for the Bears!
Barb loves The POTUS, but she doesn’t want him to go to the Super Bowl. Too much worry about security, safety and terrorists.
2:52 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Sammie, yesterday, on the way home from the Super Bowl site, we stopped at a light. In the next car, I would have sworn, was you. We exchanged a few barks, then she waved at me. Cute little white paws, they must be heck to keep clean. Do you have a bleaching product to keep your fur snow white?
2:55 pm on January 23rd, 2011
C.Harris, Texas doesn’t have state income tax, but we have higher property taxes than alot of states (used to help fund education). And the weather change would be drastic for you. BUT you may love the warmer weather. Also (at least in Houston) the housing industry didn’t have the up-spike in prices that many areas of the country have had. You can buy a house for $250,000 here that would cost a million in other parts of the country.
3:00 pm on January 23rd, 2011
On Facebook Spence wrote:
“Iggy is seen, sort of outside, in Chapter 21 of The Dog Who Knew Too Much.”
Who is The Potus?
3:05 pm on January 23rd, 2011
States without income tax are: Alaska, Washington, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas and Wyoming. New Hampshire and Tennessee limit their state income taxes to only dividends and interest income. Oregon and Hawaii have the highest rates of state income tax with Pennsylvania the lowest. I haven’t researched rates of property taxes or sales taxes yet.
There are five states without a sate sales tax: Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon although there might be taxes in certain towns within these states.
If I was younger, I would have liked to live abroad for a year. Has anyone done that?
3:06 pm on January 23rd, 2011
POSTUS: President of the United States
3:07 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Bee, It is the President of the United States.
3:13 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Mr.Staff says the winner will be the team that protects the ball the best.
The Packers are the sworn enemy of the Vikings. I don’t care. I will go with Barb and Maggie ’cause they need another Bears team. Besides, the Packers are now officially jinxed by Bernie.
3:14 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Perhaps I shouldn’t ask but why have I never heard of POSTUS before?
CHarris: I “lived” in Paris for a month. Rented an apartment. It was wonderful. As I walked back from the market some days carrying a bag of food, people would stop and ask me for directions…which I sometimes knew and sometimes didn’t. That is really the only way to know a place. However, I’ve never stayed for a year.
3:16 pm on January 23rd, 2011
I have another question: Why is the first “s” in POSTUS there?
3:16 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Another bears fan not another bears team.
Melainie, be patient with your knee. They cut it woman! What do you expect? Instant miracle? Stop trying to do so much at first as you will just make it swell and that makes it hurt.
Goodness what an impatient girl.
Better go check on the roast.
3:17 pm on January 23rd, 2011
That first S is a typo. It is POTUS
3:17 pm on January 23rd, 2011
And Mrs Obama is FLOTUS
3:25 pm on January 23rd, 2011
B..you for sure would have heard of POTUS if you had watched “The West Wing”, according to mom. They frequently referred to the prez as POTUS.
Mom is at The Big Orange Box. I bet she is really bored because most people are at home watching football. Maybe she could entertain herself by reading the blog. heh..
3:38 pm on January 23rd, 2011
FDOTUS Bo
3:54 pm on January 23rd, 2011
I only watched the first season of West Wing.
That’s funny SH.
4:03 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Thank you Staff, we need the company. Although the Bears are not doing so well right now. Barb is making a pot roast today, too. The kind with onions, potatoes and carrots. Yum, perfect for a cold Sunday.
4:11 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Roast! …Hey my friend said she is thinking about making a roast today too…snort!… She’s watching the Packers win 14 – ZIP, so maybe she will be up to it later…heh!…Roast is a rare thing in my house…slurp!yum!,.,grunt!
Break-through!…Just a little bit ago on the Quilling project She finally figured out how to make the flower needed to finish off the objects for the project…yeep!…Doesn’t look that awesome to me, but I can’t get very close to it…sneeze!burp!
4:42 pm on January 23rd, 2011
We made a pot roast with apples and onions. It is a low salt recipe. (UGH) She did put a little salt on it for herself. Mr.Staff put a lot of salt on it. He isn’t on a low salt diet the bum. (jealous here)
It doesn’t look good for the bears.
Maybe this is the change that Bernie needs for his luck.
4:44 pm on January 23rd, 2011
SH – I started to do the FDOTUS but didn’t because I could not pronounce it. Great minds…
5:13 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Bears!… I think even the Broncos could have had a chance against the Bears today…snort!… Although, the Packers haven’t scored in quite a while now, so things could change and I’m only saying this because Bad Luck Bernie is rooting for the Packers…sneeze!
5:34 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Uh-Oh!… Da Bears just scored… snort!… I feel the tide building hopefully it won’t turn on the Packers. Darn that Bernie…grump!
5:38 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Stover!… My friend said she can see your photo clearly on facebookie…heh!… She said it is a really nice photo of you….sniff!… You have beautiful hands apparently…snort!
5:53 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Hi Everyone! Finally its my turn!! Gilly here. The Kats are sleeping and Tupper is hanging out with Mama in the kitchen. Seems that there are extra sweet potatoes in the oven, and Tupper is convinced that it means Mama is going to make us biscuits tonight. Yippee! She makes the bestest biscuits ever! Our housemate Callie the Great Pyranees is a really fussy eater -she won’t eat store bought biscuits at all anymore now that she has had some of these.
When I came to live here, I didn’t know how to do some of the things that my family wanted- like “sit” and “wait” and “gentle”. But those biscuits are so good, I would do anything to get them. Tupper gets her share too, even if she doesn’t understand about “sit” (Mama says Tupper’s not the hottest jalapeno in the chili, but we love her to pieces anyway)
6:00 pm on January 23rd, 2011
We just headed for the computer to say the Bears were done for, and 13 seconds later they had a touchdown! So guess they are still in the game. 21 to 14, so it ain’t over till it’s over! DA BEARS!
6:02 pm on January 23rd, 2011
T & G what is the connection between sweet potatoes and biscuits?
Does she add some to the buscuit dough?
6:09 pm on January 23rd, 2011
She makes us special doggie biscuits with oats and honey and sweet potatoes, or sometimes pumpkin or carrots. mmmmmm!
p.s. GO BEARS!!!
6:10 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Rio: Tell your friend thank you.
6:10 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Close!….Bears could tie this game if they are so inclined….snort!…Then it will really get exciting!….Wooooo!
6:15 pm on January 23rd, 2011
WOOOO!…Green Bay Packers are going to the Superbowl!….snort!snort!….Woooooo!….

6:17 pm on January 23rd, 2011
But doncha hate it when they don’t play the last seconds out – come on, games have been turned around in less than 37 seconds!
With the money these guys makem, they could at least play the full game out!
6:26 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Superbowl!….We here in Colorado used to know how exciting it is to win the Division Championship and go to the Big Game…sigh….Now we have to live vicariously through other teams…sniff!… Good on the Packers!…Woooo!… They are a great team and deserve a shot. Now we will watch the AFC Championship game to see who their opponent will be come February…heh!
Laundry!…She is going to do laundry now but I can’t follow her downstairs because she doesn’t want me to aggravate my sore shoulder… grump!…This just sucks. I always follow her downstairs and make sure it’s safe down there…sniff!…I almost made it through the doorway before she shut the door. If I had a longer nose it would be caught in the crack…grumble!
6:27 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Woo Woo Packers are going to the Superbowl! Macy will get to see them play. Loved the touchdown that The Fridge made.
I was impressed with that young quarterback of the Bears, Caleb. We share the same name, and he graduated from Colorado State.
6:36 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Great, the Packers won. Now hoping the Jets win.
6:47 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Jets!….We here are rooting for the Jets too…snort!… The Steelers have never been a team we have liked …grunt!… Let’s Go Jets!…WoooWooo!…Plus, there’s no way Bernie will go 2 for 2…heh!
6:51 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Siber-H: since FDOTUS could stand for “first daughter of the United States,” I recommend F-POTUS (first pup (or pooch) of the United States.”
Now we need to see how the Steelers do before Bernie gets too full of himself. Sadly, if the Steelers win, there will be no stopping him (Hawaiian pants, tin futures anyone?)
6:54 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Rio: You should be very glad that you don’t have a longer nose. LOL!!
7:05 pm on January 23rd, 2011
We have never liked the Steelers either. If they win, we will be very disappointed!
7:06 pm on January 23rd, 2011
I just got to the computer and have been reading today’s posts. I have a rhetorical question for C. Harris.
You said, if you were younger you’d like to live abroad for a year. If you are in reasonably good health, don’t let your age stop you. I’d be willing to bet that there
are lots of people older than you (I have no idea how old you are) living anywhere you’d like to locate for a while. I have a friend in Paris who is 96 and still functioning. I say
go for it. If you try it and don’t like it you can come back. If you don’t try it, you’ll wonder forever whether you should have.
7:10 pm on January 23rd, 2011
C. Harris,
I can blame the fact that I forgot the question on age. I meant to ask why you’re letting age stop you do anything you’re physically able to do.
7:14 pm on January 23rd, 2011
TYE: thanks for the encouragement! I have an elderly father and feel I can’t right now be in a foreign country as for the last couple of years I had to fly to his side more than once. Also, for myself I’d have to figure out if my medical insurance works abroad and how I would have access to doctors. However, I have just purchased the French and Spanish Rosetta Stones so I haven’t given up the idea.
7:18 pm on January 23rd, 2011
B. Stover: I’ve noticed spelling AND grammar mistakes in my posts today. Things like that must drive you crazy especially coming from a teacher. It’s just been one of those days where my fingers have a mind of their own and my brain is not synapsing fast enough. Maybe it’s the cold? 🙂
7:28 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Yippee Packers! (Although I have to admit I was kind of pulling for the third-string Bears QB to do well!) Now go Jets!
7:39 pm on January 23rd, 2011
You are correct, C.Harris, The dog needs to stand out from the rest of the family—“pup” it will be.
I have had enough football for one day. We will just flip it on the football game occasionally to see what the score is. We will be reading The Fan and watching more Alaska State Troopers on tv.
Rio, this is the second time I have read the Fan and I can’t put it down.
7:39 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Game!…What’s happening with the game!…grunt!…I’ve been in the kitchen because the smell of that roast cooking is driving me crazy…snort!… Are the Jets winning? It’s commercial time and we can’t tell what the score is…grump!
7:40 pm on January 23rd, 2011
SiberH!… You can’t put the book down because you don’t remember anything from the first time you read it pal!…snort!
7:42 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Jets!…ZERO. What the hell have they been doing all this time?….grumble!…Oh no now we have to go to the kitchen again because the roast needs checking!…yum!
7:43 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Kirby? Is Caleb a third string quarterback? I can’t remember his last name.
Kirby is suppose to know these football things.
7:45 pm on January 23rd, 2011
I’m cracking up here, Rio, but you are correct. See what a blessing a poor memory can be sometimes.
7:45 pm on January 23rd, 2011
C. Harris,
I didn’t mean to pry and I can certainly understand your situation. When I retired after teaching French and English for 35 years, I intended to spend the rest of my life traveling. Three months before I retired, my sister who lived blocks from my father and kept tabs on him, moved to New Orleans and I felt I should stick around for a while to keep an eye him. That while extended through his 80’s and into his 90’s. I rescued Blou two months. Friends said that I was crazy. I had always loved traveling and they said that “the dog cramped my style.” My answer to that was that I would be happy sitting on my porch with a book for the next 50 years if I could have Blou beside me.
Now Blou’s gone and Tyb is keeping me happy. I don’t go if I can’t take him with me.
There are more and more pet friendly accomodations around the country so we limit our travel to “driveable” destinations. You’re a good daughter; your dad’s a luck man.
7:50 pm on January 23rd, 2011
CHarris: Typos never bother me.
7:58 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Puss N’ Boots!… Here’s me thinking those two Kats would be football guys, but I guess not…snort!… Alice and AbbieTheKat are not interested, that’s for sure…. Nice!
Crap!… The Steelers just scored again…sob!
8:06 pm on January 23rd, 2011
OMG!…This is a Steel Mill Blowout…grump!
8:13 pm on January 23rd, 2011
I am not happy about this football game…
8:36 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Rio – quit your snorting about us Kats – let us explain something to you.
Of COURSE dogs are interested in football – all of you silly canines get interested in anything having to do with chasing a ball and fighting over it. Even Chet, whom we happen to think is amazingly intelligent for a dog, gets all excited over a silly snowball! So now here’s a bunch of humans running around after a ball that is called a “pigskin”, when they get all jumbled up together they call it a “dog pile” and when they get all lined up, what the quarterback does to the guy in front of him seems kind of like how dogs greet each other.
So, why should we superior Kat beings be in the least little bit interested in this game? Did you know that when they talk about the “first string” and the “second string”,they aren’t even talking about REAL string. Sheesh, what good is that?
8:37 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Macy, I don’t go outside because the hawks are waiting for me. Also, I go to the groomer every week. There’s no stopping these guys. Lots of WonderFluff. I am groomed within an inch of my life.
8:37 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Mollie!…I saw a new spark of hope in them once the second half started…snort!…Then they all became confused like someone was putting a spell on them or sumthing…wheeze!
8:40 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Touchdown!… Jets! Now things are going to change..heh!heh!
8:44 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Herbs, No, Not all dogs are interested in chasing balls. Most Huskies see absolutely no point in it whatsoever.
8:44 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Basil and Sage: That was well said!
8:48 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Finally a touchdown, it took long enough…
8:53 pm on January 23rd, 2011
B&S,
I couldn’t agree more. Let the dogs have their day. Baseball is more my style. Finesse and Strategy and some sneaky plays like stealing a base and something called the squeeze play (I really have no idea what the squeeze play is)
Rio and I agree about baseball.
By the way Rio, here is some hope for you. It is less than THREE WEEKS until the pitchers have to report for Spring Training!!!!
WHoooEEEEE!

Rio, we are here watching but since we’re pulling for the Steelers, we weren’t “talking” much. We were very happy Green Bay won and hope they win the Super Bowl, but something about the Jets disturbs us. Don’t know what, just does.
Mom and, of course, Dad are big football fans and considering that our pro team, the Texans, are not very good makes it difficult most of the time. And this year, the Longhorns poor season didn’t help AT ALL!!
Tyb’s friend, Mom knows just how you feel about traveling. She only takes short trips since she can’t travel with the cats. However, she has super friends that she cat sits for when they go out of town, and they return the favor.
Rio, next to the Astros (another poor excuse for a professional team, we will be pulling for the Rockies this year because of what big fans you and SiberH are!
9:01 pm on January 23rd, 2011
SiberH!…Say it isn’t soooo…sob!
9:05 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Puss N’ Boots!… That is great news!…wooo!…Did you hear that SiberH, you Kat-like canine?… snort!….The Texas Kats are going to be Rockies fans….wheeze!…They will each need a Rockies cap of course…sniff!
9:12 pm on January 23rd, 2011
Siber – we just knew there was a reason we liked you!
And Rio – we will admit it – we do watch baseball…as long as its the Detroit Tigers
9:23 pm on January 23rd, 2011
That is great news…to have G&BB join us as Rockies fans. Welcome G&BB. Yes, they will need their own cap. Melanie will feel better by then.
Don’t worry, Rio…Huskies being cat like has to do with things like not coming when called and not being very trainable. We chase cats. VERY FEW Huskies can be adopted into a home that has cats.

Jets!…They are FIGHTING to get that touchdown ….gasp!…Will they do it???…snort! …NO THEY ARE STOPPED SHORT!… gruuummp!

9:24 pm on January 23rd, 2011
The only way I can have kat friends is through the miracle of Siberspace.
9:27 pm on January 23rd, 2011

9:30 pm on January 23rd, 2011
