Admin!….What do you bet Admin finallychecked his Spam directory in his email account and found some old emails that he never read?….sniff!….Now they are totally meaningless and he feels bad for not replying to them. Maybe one in particular really got him going and this strange story idea popped into his head…grunt!
Cars!….Melanie is going to go buy a new car today….snort!….I hope she stays away from those Ford Focus pieces of crap!…grunt!….We had to go test drive one of those mangy cars this past week with her mother. My friend hates those cars, especially the dorky looking hatchbacks….sniff!…This morning she wrote and told me she saw one of those hatchbacks totally creamed in a great big accident on the highway….wuffle!….Cars were backed up for miles and miles and the driver couldn’t possibly have survived the crash….snuffle! ….Melanie! Tell Melanie to look at Subarus. They are great cars and they run forever. I had 180,000 miles on my last one and it was still running great when I got rid of it because of electrical problems. Subaru ran an ad campaign once saying the best way to get rid of the new car smell is to get a dog. I sent this picture to them and they used it on their web page. Obviously that’s me driving and the back window shows a photograph of Blou that was printed on vinyl and has been on the car for 5 years.

I’m rooting for the Phillies in today’s game because Halliday is pitching. After today, I don’t know.
Naturally, I’ll be rooting for the Snakes.
I can say this because I was rooting for the Yankees last night: They must have taken lessons from the Rockies on how to leave runners on base, and the Yankee’s pitching was miserable.
We like Subarus. Melanie is buying a Honda Element. Hondas are good cars also. I wonder how many Newfs can fit in a Honda Element. The floor of a Honda Element can be washed out with a hose. A very good feature for Husky or Newf hair.

We just checked out the suburu webpage. Pop thinks that might be a contender for our next huskymobile. Our current huskymobile is only used to transport us and for Mom when it snows. Its a jeep with a lot of miles on, and warning lights that scare Pop. He won’t take it for a long trip, which is what we want to do.

Our Subaru has 212,000 miles on it. It smokes, it complains and the “Damnit, check your engine lights!” hasn’t stopped blinking for the last several thousands of miles. It’s a good car.
Tyb: I love Blou’s sticker in the window. Maybe Melanie will do the same with a sticker of each of the pack in her new car.
I agree with Dawson. Chet and Bernie mysteries are a far better storyline than a rogue email.

Rio — thanks for rooting for St. Louis. Although if it winds up being the Snakes versus the Cardinals for the NL championship, I will be torn. Actually, it is nice having two teams you like playing against each other. I already have that on the AL side with the Tigers and Rangers. Hmmm, tough choices.
As regard Admin’s idea above, I actually have a slight variation to suggest. How about a story about an unfinished story line trapped in the spam filter/mind of a recalcitrant author. B, Your autumn pictures are fabulous. That is what I was looking at yesterday as I drove around. I decided that autumn was a danger to me as my eyes were NOT on the road enough. Then when they were on the road they were following the blowing leaves, not the other cars. DANGER!!!
One time I was driving under some locusts and the tiny egg yellow leaves were spinning down and sparkling across the road and it looked like fireworks exploding. It was so beautiful!

Great photos Bee! It finally rained here and it finally feels like fall. I love it.
We have a toyota and a subaru, and we like them lots. We are like Chet, we like to ride shotgun. Gus and I can just fit in the passenger seat up front. Mom and dad like us to ride in back though. Personally, I can’t see any good reason for mom to hog the front seat!

Whew, what a day. Do not have the car right now, but will be picking it up in about a week. Now what happened.
Zoe decided to work the car buying through the auto insurance people. A better deal than just looking around and hoping, but we discovered some sticking points.
Like 3 or the 4 dealerships on line said they had the car we wonted on the lot on Wednesday but by yesterday those cars had mysteriously disappeared! So we would have to pay $2,500 more to have the car brought to the lot. HUH? Zoë said that wasn’t happening. They told her that it was a “virtual” car she was looking at. Which made no sense what so ever. She got angry. Hung up the phone a few times. Then decided to call one more of the dealerships and THEY HAD THE CAR ON THEIR LOT!
She said DON’T SELL THAT CAR! We had the loan all set up, we had the car and drove this morning to test drive and pay for it.
EXCEPT the person who had told us the car was there had the wrong car, we need a 4 wheel drive not a 2 wheel drive. These people let us test drive the 2 wheel (after the jumped the battery) and then gave us the price they quoted over the phone for the other car.
Cool. He asked us what color. We said we don’t care. And we don’t, just get up the quickest car he can. Hopefully, it won’t be pink but at this point we don’t mind.
Now before we got there all the other Honda Dealers were trying to get that car to their lots so they could sell it to us. TOO LATE!
It was a far drive. I drove both ways and so slept most of the afternoon.
Can’t wait to go to bed shortly.

Kind of a bittersweet day today. I made my move over to my new department. My co-workers surprised me with a cake, and a card(I’m too emotional right now to open it). I’m glad to have a new opportunity, but it is very sad to leave people that I’ve worked with for the past five years. We are only separated by a building, but somehow it won’t be the same. Don’t get me wrong, I know everyone in the group where I’m going,and they are great, but I will miss the close relationship I’ve made with one of my co-workers. I got a funny feeling in my stomach when I looked at my empty cubicle for the last time. I think the real shock will be when the Prof drops me off at my new building on Monday.
I feel sad.

The email trapped in spam wouldn’t need to know anything else. The story would be a description of “his” life and philosophy. If the protagonist changed into an email trapped in spam (as happens to Gregor in “The Metamorphosis”–he wakes up as an insect), he could compare life in his memory and life as he lives it now.

People do wave at Blou and you wouldn’t believe how many people speak to him. One day when he was still living, I stopped on the way home from work to buy him a small dish of ice cream. We sat at a picnic table about 50 feet from the car where I fed it to him with a spoon. Without spoon feeding, he’d scarf the whole scoop down at once and I’m sure he would end up with an ice cream headache. A lady pulled
into the parking space next to my car, got out, and came right over to me. She started shaking her finger at me and telling me that I should be ashamed of myself.
I asked her what I had done. She pointed to the live Blou and said that I shouldn’t be giving him ice cream and making the other poor thing wait in the car. Honestly, it really happened.

SiberH!…I think you are thinking of Holliday on the Cardinals team….snorkel!…He is from Denver…sniff!…He’s had a rough year this year, poor guy. I heard Halladay, the pitcher for the Phillies, is from Canada…wuffle!…I could be wrong, but not about Holliday because he used to be on the Rockies…grunt!

Rio, Punto is known for his superb defense. He is a great infielder. He is not such a great hitter, but has been doing really well since he was traded. He was hurt his last year with the Twins and I guess they didn’t want to wait and see if he would do better once he was well. I hope he goes to the World Series.

Doc!…Okay, but he came from the Toronto Blue Jays before he was at the Phillies…grunt!…I did not know that he was originally from Denver….snort!…Very cool! Heh!….So Halladay and Holliday are both from Denver….wooohooo!…If the Cardinals win this game with one run and shut-out the Phillies I will give up my very bad habit of chewing on the couch covers….sniff!

Sorry OH, but I’m an underdog kind of dog, which is why I was rooting for the Cardinals. It sounds as though most everyone will be rooting for the Cardinals versus Milwaukee.
Sorry about the Snakes though. They were the only team I was rooting for that did not win. Three for four isn’t bad though.
