First, an announcement. My appearance at 5 ET today at RJ Julia Booksellers in Middletown CT has been postponed due to this storm we’ve got coming through today. I feel bad about it but with the wind and rain forecast there’s really no choice. I will be at Yellow Umbrella Books in lovely Chatham Mass. this Saturday from 1-3 ET.
And now – Last day of the month, meaning last day of eligibility for anyone who wants to be Chet’s December Friend of the Month to post a pic on the FB page. Winner gets to be the profile pic (where Samwise is now) and the winner’s human companion gets a signed copy of the latest Chet and Bernie mystery – in this case Bark To The Future. Just send in a pic. The random number generator (below) does the rest! Do you know anyone who has a good candidate hanging out at home? Perhaps share this post with them.

We are scheduled for some hard rain and wind in this neck of the woods as well. Too bad about the bookstore appearance, but it is always better to err on the side of caution.

I feel as if November went by extremely quickly…Yeep!

WTAFP: Buenos Aires, Argentina, Antarctica, and penguins! I love penguins! Very exciting! I hope there were be pictures! Safe travels to you both!

    Good day to everyone!
WTAFP, sounds like quite a trip!
Wose, You have had me singing Thriller all day now. The best thing about that song and Michael Jackson’s video was ithar I had an introduction to theater class for seventh grade that only lasted six weeks so the first thing I did was teach them to do… The moonwalk! They couldn’t believe that an old woman could do it. PS, I was a lot younger then.

I can’t compete with penguins, but I am in Florida. The blue skies in Palm trees of yesterday were overcast and rainy today. No adventures to report as of yet.

Party!…My friends supervisor texted her with an exotic list of cupcake flavors to choose from for her going away party…snort!…The thing is she will not be going away from the library. She will be supporting it even more. But not pushing around heavy carts of books and breaking her back putting them away…heh!heh!… But all the gals she works with are planning a party and this is very thrilling. Because it will be the very first “Going Away — Retirement Party” she has ever had…sniffle!

Penguins. Probably a spirit animal of mine as I do love them.

Have to pass on the FB generator. I will never do Facebook. Ever. And Freyja and Diana are forbidden to use the computer. Plus neither are old enough to meet the Facebook age requirements in people years.

My Mom came home today and is feeling much better physically and mentally. She didn’t notice all of the poinsettias I planted in the front yard on Monday.

Today I went to three different nurseries to pick up new plants for the winter garden: lettuce, spinach, peas, beets, onions, garlic. I’ve also got seeds for radishes, carrots and leeks.

I also bought: snapdragons, primrose, cyclamen, paperwhites, narcissus, daffodils, tulips, grape hyacinth and Amaryllis. Some will go into the dorm fridge to cool for a month or two and some will be planted this coming week. I go back on Sunday and have plans to work on the garden and make lots of stuff with the apples that are still in the refrigerator.

I’ve ordered an electric potato peeler to peel the apples. I’m hoping it will go faster.

Meanwhile my nephew is driving me nuts. This is the 33 year old janitor that lives with his Mother. He “fixes” everything with zip ties. I’m not sure if it the depths or heights of his stupidity but I am getting increasing frustrated with both. And I can’t “stupid-proof” the managing of the household. Not if he’s going to ignore the notes, lists and my Mother’s preferences.

Off the Wall was a great album but I think Thriller had the most hits. It’s hard to divorce the artist’s personal life from his professional work. I can’t say I’ve listened to either album in the last two decades. I also haven’t seen a Mel Gibson movie for quite a while either. Not sure I ever could again.
