Siber-H’s picture is up on top. I love seeing him with his mountain of toys. That poor baby just has nothing to play with. Molly told me about a Mission adventure where she and Siber-H used the Mission credit card to order dog toys. Ha ha. Commander Rio confiscated the credit card.

Stoneham!….snort!….This should be interesting. They seem to think that quote, “Abrahams is also Young Adult author, Spencer Quinn.”….heh!….What a surprise when they find out Spencer is not who they think he is….chorkel! …Stoneham is up above Boston. I wonder if there is a Red Sox game this afternoon. He could stop off watch the game and then head on over to sign some stuff….heh!

Riö, I can’t imagine how much prep work is used for your friends’ projects. More power to her art and to her Brutal Walking.

When did Spencer start writing Young Adult?
    I thought that was Peter?

Does ANYONE ever edit anything anymore?

(Rose: Ummm, I believe that the Satellite parts are attracted to Yankee hats. People should wear their Red Sox hats!)

Prep!… Far too much time is spent prepping a project…grunt!… She says each and every piece of paper must be first selected for color, measured and cut, twirled, rested, glued, and then shaped….snuff!…All before anything can be put together to resemble anything….snort! …I think it is insanity! But she says it takes her mind off all the stuff that bugs her each and every day….snuffle!…Which is a lot lately, let me tell you!…huffle!

Rio: I really admire your friend’s artistic ability. All her hard work pays off in the beauty of her completed projects.

A one in 3,200 chance of being hit? Gulp. That’s a lot better odds than…than…winning the lottery! We won’t know until a few hours before today? Friday? Saturday? Sounds like the local weather types with their 50/50 forecasts of rain. Let’s see unsmiling Seattle announcer talking of debris plunging to Earth. Will WeatherKat be a goner? Sob. Funny how they were comforting us with the odds being similar to being bitten by a shark or getting a hole-in-one – both of which require your person to be either in the ocean or at a golf course. Meaning, I suppose, it will all depend on where one is at the time. Isn’t that always the way it is? Another road taken-another fate.

I love our vet. He’s very good, but there is nothing like talking to someone who as actually taken the road that we are on.

We have been following the vet’s advice completely and to the “t” and Patsy has been limping more and more. With the weather the last two day (rain and more in forecast) she has been hurting. The last time I talked to Dr. C he mentioned Fentanyl patches.

So I called our friend (another Newf breeder who went through this several years ago) and she asked how I was and I broke down in tears. Told her everything and how did she handle the pain issue.

First, she gave her dog a lot more tramadol than we were (notice the were) and she said the patches are great. Expensive but great. Her dog did not limp. She was high and happy. At this point that is what I’d like for Patsy. The leg that has cancer won’t explode or anything if she uses it and she’ll be able to if she can’t feel the pain.

That is what I wish for my dear girl. So we called the vet and told him to send the prescription in, upped her dose of tramadol and this afternoon she has an acupuncture appointment.

Good morning all. Working at the CL place today.

Just a quick comment then back to work. I checked through the copies I kept of the recipes, and I think the Dog Biscuit error is on my part. I copied some of the recipes from the blog. These mostly were the ones that T & Gs Mama posted for the parties. Aug 23, 2010 recipes (I think)is the date this one appeared. I copied the recipe in question, but it started with 2 cups of milk at the top of the page. Evidently part of it should have been on the proceeding page, if that make sense. I did have to cut and paste a few that ended up on 2 pages. Evidently that was the case here and I didn’t notice it. I could not find the rest of the recipe. Sooo sorry.

Spence & Peter together. Hmm…that should be an interesting presentation.

Bear isn’t worried about falling satellite debris. Wookie is an expert in these matters.

Someone here is feeling slightly better today. She was finally able to get some sleep with the help of the m-e-d-i-c-a-t-i-o-n. On behalf of all those here on the blog who are wounded or feeling less than tip top – we thank you.

Taking it easy today. The computer may or may not be left on for Bear to post. Still waiting for our pawtographed copy of The Dog Who…..

    11:51 am on September 22nd, 2011

Well at 11:36 I wrote a comment and it’s being moderated. But in the few minutes since then, things have already changed.

In a nut shell, Patsy has been limping more and more.

Talked to the vet and to a close friend who’s dog also had the bone cancer. She used the “F” patch ( I think that’s why I was moderated) for her dog. We are getting it but only to use much later. Turns out that if Dan got a hold of it that would NOT be good.

So we are upping Patsy’s other meds, hoping for better weather, and will have a happy, happy, hopefully pain free dog.

She also has an acupuncture appointment this afternoon.

Melanie mentioning of the F-patch reminded me, the f word is used closer to 10 times in Dog Who, not 5 as previously reported. That is if you count the times that ing is added to the word. Not sure anyone really cares.

Double negatives are interesting. Chaucer used them often. We do today also as litotes (figure of speech using understatement): “That’s not bad!”

Rose!… Somehow while writing this post I remembered that you asked how the book A Pugs Tale is going….snort!…. It’s pretty good because it has pugs in it. In fact there is constant reference to a certain pug named Max, who is very lucky and gets to go to work with his gal each day at a Museum of Art……grunt!…Although, the narrator is always talking about him snorting, grunting, wheezing, gasping, and snoring for some reason….sniff! …It’s all pretty normal, no need to bring it up all the time…wuffle!

The Prof was so obsessed with that show, he actually chose Barnabas as his confirmation name! My only interest in going is because it was shot in Tarrytown, and because I love the Prof so much.

Hey everyone – add us to the Dark Shadows fan club. Remember when Quentin was THE sex symbol of the day? Old Barnamus was scary but sexy? Ummm, no . At least not to our grammar school eyes. Went to see the movie. Scared us half to death and we remember the finals scene to this day. Don’t remember another blinkin thing about the movie, but we do remember that finale. Yikes!
And what about that Angelique? Now there was a chick who could have used some v a l i u m

Barb and Maggie – ok, we can understand how that could happen. We are going to have Liz fix the PDF when we get home and can send the exact measurements. We can also email to anyone who wants to edit their cookbook or we can post the recipe on the blog. Just as long as Maggie gets her biscuits.

Spencer and Peter at same place at the same time. Imagine that. hmmm

All of us send our love to Patsy, and Meashka sends her special healing powers. She wishes she could get there to apply the medicinal science she has been studying.

We would like to start up a petition to get Siber’s stuffed huskies down from that shelf. TAKE THEM DOWN TAKE THEM DOWN TAKE THEM DOWN !!!

Guess what? Mom just got banged real hard in the head by Shiek. It was an accident. Annie was being a brat, and Mom had to reach around her to pick up Shiek’s lead from the ground. He happened to pop his head up at that same time, and BANG! She now is sporting a black eye. Just in time to re-meet all of her family. The gods must be against this reunion! But the covered bridge thru which all must drive to follow her directions, just reopened. It was closed on Tuesday due to a truck hitting the height-restriction bar. So, perhaps some of this bad luck is turning around?

Nurse Meashka, Make sure your mom uses ice on it. That should help keep any swelling down.

Mom has had to go to the doctor with injuries inflicted accidentally by dogs. She always had the feeling the doctors didn’t believe her dog stories.

  71. Melanie
    8:46 pm on September 22nd, 2011

Siber-H, same here. I remember going to the hospital one time with YSAS. I had tripped over a dog and landed on a wood holder busting a rib or two.

YSAS and i were doing our comedy routine explaining what happened and the nurse asked him to leave. Then she asked me if I was under any kind of threat or was scared to go home. I said no. I really was a dog. they were large and I just tripped.

Luckily, my doctor had seen my Pack and understood and I was cleared.

I think it’s good that they do that, but when you have dogs you can get some mighty weird looking bruises.

Howlers- so sorry to hear about your Mom’s accident with Sheik. We think that if she does have a black eye for the reunion, she should tell the long lost family that she has joined the Roller Derby, and she was in one he’ll of a match the other day- but you should see the OTHER bomber!

Can’t wait to hear what Rose thinks of the movie. Wonder if she will sleep a wink tonight.

Bee- we hope you will feel better very soon.

How strange. It is the Purina PetCentric site. Mine did not give off any warnings. Perhaps your iPhone is paranoid.

I need to figure out what Dark Shadows is all about so I can keep up with the conversation. That will be my first order of business after I tend to the dogs and then get a fire going.

Rio: I have the feeling that the education between you and the Outlaws will go both ways. Gulp…

Oley Howlers: I have a story similar to Melanie’s story. Not long after AJ and I first moved to Alaska, I fell from the moving snow machine and injured my shoulder. I passed out when it happened only coming to to Luna licking the injured body part with the right amount of pressure to lessen the pain. Tenzing got AJ’s attention that something was wrong. AJ called the nearest medical clinic (about 45 minutes away), loaded me in the car and drove the highway like it was a Nascar track. I made the mistake by joking that the injury happened a couple of weeks prior, but we just got around to coming in now when we were asked when I got hurt. That was it–they separated AJ and I and questioned us both: Was I safe in my home? Had he hurt me before? Did I have a safe place to go? Then they questioned us together and again separately. Once they were satisfied, they let me go home with him bandaged, casted and high on pain pills. In the years since I’ve gone in for a broken nose, pneumonia, a concussion, a fractured back, and an ear infection and they always ask those same questions whether AJ is with me or not—how pneumonia could be be at his hand is beyond me. I tend to be a bit accident prone; AJ has toyed with the idea of wrapping me in bubble wrap before I leave the house…In all seriousness, please take care of yourself.

The last time Mr.Staff went to the doctor they asked him if he felt safe at home. Do you think he should have said “Oh it’s OK now, my wife is in Minneapolis.”
    Heh
He had no idea why they asked it until I told him what was up. He didn’t know they always ask me. Finally men are getting the same treatment.

Hope everyone feels better tomorrow. Oley, keep a close watch on your mama – she is a danger to herself.

Barb said last year when she went to the hospital for surgery they kept asking her “Do you feel safe in your home?” The first time she answered, Of course, I have a big dog. Then she got what they were asking. Since it is just the two of us it didn’t click at first what they meant.

Night all, Barb has to rest up for the Crazy Lady place tomorrow. Barb said today she called her over 20 times. One time she told her to turn the tv on and let her know if ch. 10 was clear or fuzzy. Jeeze, what a nutter!

We were catching up on the new T.V. season. Mainly Modern Family. We all love that show.

Mom always has bruises all over her. Mostly from horses, but also just because she is very clumsy and tends to fall more often than a person who is mildly coordinated. Pop always teases her about it and tends to hold onto her whenever she is on uneven pavement or something. He is also very paranoid that our friends will think he is causing all of those bruises. But we think they all know how clumsy Mom is. Thankfully, she has never hurt herself bad enough to go to a doctor for it.

Thanks once again for all the good wishes and sympathy. Mom’s eye is just a bit swollen, but not noticeable (yet). We will see what tomorrow brings.

    Good night.

Naw they weren’t. He gives better laps than I do. He lays around watching TV and reading books and I sit. They like the long laps!

Rio: Strange bed-fellows! It is likely that your friends, Pancho and Lefty will be on the Iditarod trail (if they make the team). Given their lack of manners, I’d suggest sleeping with one eye open. 🙂

Staff: The quilt of the Jones Handcrank is beautiful. It looks like you had a grand time.

Oley Howlers: I would send you mom some of my bubble wrap, but I think the MG’s would pop it with their horns before it got to you.

Maybe I am just dense, but is there a place somewhere that shows your appearances before they happen? You have been all around our town, but we never know until too late to make plans to show up.

Mango, Chet usually tells us here each day where Spencer will be. Also, if you are on Facebook, “like” Chet the Dog page and you will see announcements there.
