Special Joint Appearance

Peter Abrahams (known to many of you as Spence) with Jim Frangione, the gifted reader of Chet & Bernie and Bowser & Birdie books. We did this last year and it was a lot of fun. Hearing Jim read in person is mesmerizing. And PA just sits around! A win-win! Books for sale and signing courtesy of Books By The Sea.

Good morning! That sounds like a fun event. I have still never heard one of SQ’s books in audible. I am determined to get one. Does anyone know if they can be downloaded from Amazon to play on an Ipad? Buddy?

What fun! And Spence is making me laugh–a “win win” indeed!

The link about the Amelia Earhart photo is interesting. There are so many different theories. In his book “Amelia Earhart Survived,” Rollin Reineck suggests that she returned to the U.S. after WWII in 1945 (she had been a prisoner of war in Japan) and took the name Irene Craigmile, a woman she used to fly with. He also suggests that years earlier Earhart had had a daughter born out of wedlock who was adopted by the O’Crowley-Craigmile family: “She wanted to be Irene Craigmile and continue to fulfill her deep felt obligation to the O’Crowley family in general, and to the missing Irene Madeline Craigmile Heller in particular, by helping to raise her son. And, at the same time, watch the growth and development of her own daughter.” Curiouser and curiouser.

    Good morning all.

    Good Morning Everyone.

The Amelia Earhart Story seems to be one of those Never-Ending Mysteries.

Meet Denali. I am not formally adopting him but have integrated him with Mr. Big. They are getting along well except for the times they aren’t.. Denali has taken over Sadie’s bedding in the living room. Sadie is ok with it because she prefers the couch anyway. Heh

Here is Mr. Big contemplating running away from home. Twice I’ve seen him across the street in the last couple of days.

    C.Hobbitz: Denali is quite handsome!
Mr. Big searching for his heart’s desire, eh? Love the picture!

CHobbitz, Denali is a handsome guy but Big has been king of the roost for quite a while. Other than stealing Sadie’s bed, how does Denali react with Sadie?

Denali is fine with Sadie and Sadie is fine with her. Mr. Big is the one we all have to be aware of his mood. Now I have 3 animals in my bed. I knew I should have bought a king-sized bed when I bought this house! Denali had been adopted twice and returned. It is obvious he has picked me to live with. Darn.

CHobbitz: Didn’t Mr. Big have the same M.O.? Heh, heh…what’s one more.

C.Hobbitz: I think it is clear that you and Denali are made for each other. :^)

Masquers: you are correct. Mr. Big had been a failed adoption so I adopted him and here we are 2.5 years later.
Anchorage finally has a sunny day and it is warm. I had the ginormous tree in my yard severely pruned so now I have no shade. I’ve decided to escape to the movies. I am off to see the movie Beguiled.

I remember CHobbit saying she couldn’t handle people making fun of Mr.Big at adoption events. Therefore, he become her kitty. He needs to stay out of the street!

Boo Bear: I don’t know why Mr. Big is checking out the neighbor across the street. He has two little yippie dogs, some kind of mini Yorkies. Most of the time when Mr. Big is outside he is hiding in my fern forest or dry cleaning himself by rolling around in the grit of the brick walkway. I think he gets irritated by all the other cats I constantly have in the house and takes his leave for a while. Then he remembers how much he loves me and that I have food. lol
