I will look at the link after a few whiles. Just wanted you guys to know that it’s snowing in the hills of Western MA.

Last night GLAD called me to check about what to wear for my niece’s Bridal Shower. She thought she might wear a sundress. I couldn’t stop laughing!

Brando is an interesting name. Tomorrow it may snow here and Monday it’s supposed to be 71. It’s been raining so much that worms are all over the sidewalk.

    Good morning all.

Good morning Melanie and all. Sundress wouldn’t work here either – in the 40s, 10 degrees below average. At least it will be in the 60s on Sunday when Josh builds the first raised garden bed. Now if it would just dry out so we could get some dirt delivered. Not happening soon!

Liked the story about Brando. Cood dude! Especailly liked the video with the sheep. Wonder about his breeding. He looked like he could have some Mastif in him.

Beau: Paws, tails and eyes crossed for your “visit”. Get well soon.
Spence: You rat! Just when we thought we were getting over Ella, here’s a memorial to a dog who looked like her but with long legs! Especially the puppy pix. Thank you.
Mel, Barb and B: Spring has to get to ya’ll soon.
Wild night here, light & sound show till the wee hours but no “scaredy-cat” doggies.

B & S, Hope your dad is doing great this morning. Barb agrees with the backless gowns – it is hard to maintain your desire for privacy when you are dressed in one of those. The hospital staff probably doesn’t think twice about those things, but we do. Takes a little getting used to.
Do you know how long he will be in rehab?

    Off to PT. BBL

Good morning. It is raining Kats and Meashkas here. Mom won’t let us out of the jail house.
We are glad ours is not snow, however. Even though we are huskies, we love Spring and Summer. We get much more time outdoors and the ‘rents are usually out there with us.

That is nice tribute to Brando.

Fellow Sibers, Don’t forget Husky sunbathing. One of the great things about summer along with Baseball.

Rio, When you can, let us know how Beau’s trip to the vet went.

T&G Hope your dad is continuing to improve. We bet he is.

Siber: Mom wants to see it as she grew up in So. Cal. and remembers the Dodgers coming from Brooklyn. Robinson was a big name then and she grew up unaware of the “color bar” till the 60’s.

The Latest Report : A Pink Bulldozer was seen ripping up the halls of the hospital last night. After spending the afternoon chatting and planning with the Storyteller, Mama returned last night to find him feverish, incoherent and disoriented. He had an IV but had no idea why.
It was (rather strongly) suggested to his nurse that there should be labs drawn, Tylenol administered and CHECK THE DOSAGE of his pain meds.
Anyway – today he is much more alert.
So the doctor was just in. She admits he was way overdosed and she has written up the nurse. And she is having blood drawn daily to make sure of no infection. Doctor told Mama it was good that she was here to advocate for him.
Hey- this ain’t Mama’s first square dance, ya know.

Also – Melanie came to see Leonard today. She brought him the the wonderful messages that you all sent. Thank you so much. BlueCat sent a beautiful prayer, and Dawson said she understands tears. We sure wish we did cuz Mama seems to spend an awful lot if time crying which doesn’t make any sense since the Storyteller is doing so well.

    Humans are just weird.

But every message was lovely and felt like an invisible hug. Youse guys are the best.

Storyteller, hospitals are scary places. Dad was very lucky with his hospital stays but Mom was there 24/7. The cat sitter spent several nights with us so we wouldn’t be so worried. Thank dog that Amalia was there to get the dr’s attention.

Go, go, Golinka. You keep an eye (or several) on Leonard. Sounds like all is in paw again. We’ll still keep ya’ll in our prayers.

  21. O'Howlers
    2:35 pm on April 12th, 2013

Golinka, it is good you knew what to do and not just assumed that this is the way it is. Mom would not have been that savy. Pop either. They would have just lamely thought that is how the other is going to be until they get off pain meds.
We are learning a lot from youse guys.

  22. Siber-H
    2:41 pm on April 12th, 2013

Ditto to what the Howlers just said.

I am very glad Golinka knew what was wrong. Leonard is back on the road to recovery with a doctor that knows what he is doing. Good to hear the nurse is being written up.

  26. Melanie
    3:42 pm on April 12th, 2013

Had a great time watching the Pink Bulldozer square dance with those patients that were exercising in the hall. Too bad the backless gowns are never on those butts that look great.

Would you believe that they had something in the Storyteller’s end of the ward I was allergic to? Jeez Louise, you would think the hospital would be more careful.

I was able to stay until my ears and nose stuffed up. Golinka and I went down the the cafeteria and had salads. The allergen wasn’t in any other part of the hospital. Weird.

The Storyteller was as handsome as ever. I was afraid to tell him many funny stories because he has a zipper around his middle.

Now the errands are over and it’s time for a nap. See you there BSD.

Glad to hear that Amalia advocated for Leonard and things are better. Barb said she was lucky with her meds. She had a few hives but was lucid at all times (at least as much as she normally is). Is this the same hospital where Melanie had so much trouble with Dan and Zoe?

Chicken breasts with Italian seasonings and fresh lemon, fresh green beans, ravioli stuffed with spinach and cheese, and garlic bread. My son is taking an 8 hour test to become a full fledged surveyor today. Hence he left Bellingham for Seattle last night because he had to be there for 7:15 am. The daughter-in-law was up most of the night editing video whose deadline was today. I tried to help Bijou with her breakfast so d-i-l could get a little sleep and I learned something. Bijou is allowed to have chocolate chips for breakfast if she darn well wants to and evidently I hurt her feelings by telling her 5 only. (sigh)
I’m at the airport and the plane is on time. I purchased the latest Alexander McCall Smith Ladies #1 Detective Agency book. It is #13 in the series, which means I have missed about 5 books somehow.

I have a new app! Up until I got very sick I was always in chorus or a choir. I was an alto, but because I could read music and sing on key, people tended to put me with the tenors. Now I am a contralto . . snicker . . just remembered that when I was in elementary school, I would answer the phone and people would think I was the Raven.

Anywoof, I loved singing The Messiah. I have found an app that teaches the different parts of the chorus songs! I am going to brush up my tenor memories and train my voice a bit and find me a Messiah sing-a-long come December.

    What fun!

BSD, if the episode was Snow Angels, your Paw had it right. I think that is the last one.

Hey Dawson! Dog Speed on your trip.
If I remember that age correctly they know exactly who knows what about their schedule, be it bed time or food time. Before I had my guys I was suckered into a lot of things. Of course, my guys aren’t going to recognize me when they bring their children for a visit. I plan on having a blast. Want to finger paint your hair? Go for it. Want to wear your clothes backwards? Be my guest. (Actually that happened with YSAS. He convinced me it was backwards day. I got a call from the teacher on that one. snicker)

Melanie, with grands, Mom just doesn’t tell. Like letting the toddler eat dog kibble (neurotic d-i-l would doodle in her drawers), or allowing the 13 yr old to rope swing off a small cliff into the river or letting us sleep on the bed with them when they visit in the summer. Heck, that’s her job, to spoil them almost as much as us.

And Masquers brings another flight in for a great landing. Thank you.

Dawson is headed to the old homestead. Rio, I loved your description of those waiting for her.

And here’s the recipe for Dawson’s Awesome Cawfee in case Staff loses it again!:
1 oz ground coffee per 1.25 cups cold water (i.e., 8 oz ground coffee with 10 cups of cold water).
Put coffee and water in a large jar and steep for 24 hours. Strain through Turtleman Fred’s old tshirt. Keep refrigerated. Katty likes it iced with one TBSP of cream. Dawson will have to tell you how she drinks it.
The best coffee to use is a smooth South American arabica bean.

Elliot, we used French Roast. I measured and it is 7 oz. for the container I have. (The same one you used) Dawson was VERY happy to see that jar full of coffee.
