    Really? I’m first??

Melanie, how delightful and great to see the Australian covers there!

Hi one and all, apologies as always for being absent. I wanted to let you know that my lovely Cricket crossed the bridge earlier this week. Here’s a picture taken just a few months ago. Eleven years old and so beautiful.

Good morning! Hi Liz!!! We are so sorry to hear of you being left without beautiful Cricket, but we know Cricket is among many many friends up there on the other side of the Bridge.

    Nice digital quilt.

We never got to post yesterday, because we were so busy busy busy. Mom wanted us to come with her on her evening ride, and after that, we all just collapsed under the fan on the front porch. So here is another name we are curious about from the C&B books: We liked everybody’s suggestions for next month’s Whats in a Name, and here is another: Janie, the kind and strong groomer.

Liz, so sorry to hear about your beloved Cricket. She was a lucky girl to get to spend her time on earth with you.
We think about you everytime we pull out our Dishlicker cookbook. We could never have done it without you.

Melanie, we love your digital quilt.

Today we have a company coming to put custom window well covers on. Barb is afraid I will jump thru the cheap plastic ones if a ground squirrel lands in one. I don’t know why she thinks that, when I always exhibit complete self control.

We already did our walk around the block at 7:30, due to the high temps today. Heat index is supposed to hit 105. Yikes!

Good morning all. Liz, please add our loving thoughts for you on your loss.

Mom has been working on her cemetery project for a while now. She came across one named Bush Family Cemetery in Crawford. Turns out it is the resting place of Barney the dog and his various canine relatives.

Our cool weather is starting to go away. By the end of the week we will be sweltering with the rest of you.

Forgot to mention that David Rosenfelt has two books coming out this month. We already knew about Unleashed, the newest Andy Carpenter book. Good to hear that Scout is being seen quite a bit. Bet she is trying to find home – come on Scout – you can do it.

Melanie – yes, we are as impressed as ever with your technical skills. What a fun project.

Bee and Charlie – please send boxes of snow from the Alps. We will just lay in it. hot hot hot hot hot.

Liz — great to hear from you although the news about Cricket is very sad. I know that Cricket had a great life with you and is with good company now across the bridge.

Melanie — just magnificent. What else can one say?

As regards names, there is one other name, especially for the old timers on the blog, that could create great interest, although it may be treading on some sensitive ground — that name being Astrid. Remember her?

  26. Melanie
    10:15 am on July 17th, 2013

LizF, G’Day Mate! Except it’s night now where you are. Cricket is beautiful. She will always be beautiful.

I needed to have some fun. I started looking at the images for Chet and Bernie books and was surprised at how many there were of them. I went on a hunt! Took me three days (not all at once) to find them. Then I placed them in a “quilt”. Can’t sew quilts. Would drive me nuts. I can, on the other paw, have a great time photoshopping.

Spence didn’t know I was doing this. I did it just to do it. What fun. Hazy, Hot, and Humid outside? Computer inside.

Ummm, Riö? You did say that I had some extra time to get things done.

Now I have to pick up some meds.

Staff, I am glad there have been some Scout sightings. May she get home soon.

B&M: I wish I were in Alaska right about now. I think the temperatures are in the 60’s in Anchorage. The heat really tires me out, and leaves me feeling like anything I eat is heavy, and yucky. Hope you and Barb and stay cool.

Speaking of Alaska, we have not heard from Snowhook. Did I miss something?

Around here, the two leggeds are living on tossed salad and fruit salad. We are NOT amused. Kats do not eat tomatoes. Or melon. Bleck.
Why can’t they make some steaks or fried chicken? Have they no decency?

Thanks all for the remedies for wasp stings. The swelling has gone down, and it doesn’t itch. Not being able to take antihistimes can be a bummer.

I lived in Tidewater rural VA for 22 years. I am still not considered a Southern gal. I did retain part of the accent, but the cokecola was me figuring Mike Baker woulddn’t let me say the first part. Snicker. . Over thought myself there.

    TTFN and G’Day Liz!

Kats!…It’s not really a pole per say…sniff!…It is a very large square beam or pillar. She says she will take a photo at some point and post it….snort!…It is the ONLY cube in the whole office building that ended up this way as far as she knows….chorkel!…So it is very unique and everyone knows about it…heh!heh!….That is why the person who resides there now is a “celebrity” in her own mind…grunt!…She said my friend would appreciate the Pillar (privacy galore)…snort!

Promotion!…So the short answer is “Yes”!…snort!…Compared to where she sits now, this will be great, except for the cologne spraying that goes on next door…sniff!…This will have to stop as she is allergic to perfumy stuff…grunt!

Rio – Tell your friend congrats.

And tell her to cover the pole with carpeting and it will make a great scratching post.

    G’night all.
